I went to Remington College in Cleveland back in 2007-08. I have yet to find a job in billing and coding. I was told by a community college that the reason why I wasn’t getting any calls for interviews is because I have Remington on my resume. I don’t know about now, but back then they were not accredited in billing and coding. They cared more about their...

I enrolled in the MA program but Remington lied to me. I completed an MA program in Mission Texas from a college school. I showed my diploma to the program chair at Houston North Campus and she stated, "You did just the basics and this program will help you". I called my school in Mission Texas and they confirmed that I completed the course. They said that...

I attended Remington in 2005 in the medical assistant program. The whole experience was a nightmare. From the beginning it was a mess. I was young, a single mom, and went in for information. Within 5 minutes they were shoving papers in my face to sign, and I was stupid and that's on me for not reading them, but they were admissions papers and financial...

My child attended the Cosmetology Program at Remington through the Covid Pandemic. It was not a good experience and a complete waist of money. The class only met in person 1 day a week, which I feel is impossible to teach cosmetology that way. They could not work on real people, everything was done on mannequins and that was very unrealistic. She did almost...

Remington College Cosmetology 2008

The financial department told me that my schooling was paid for with my financial aid and loans. I did not have to worry about anything during the program.

I ended up dropping out. Understand they GOT PAID. I requested my transcript and received it in the mail. I ended up requesting it again and was denied because they stated I owe $1,547. This school is a big scam. I plan on getting my lawyer involved.

Desired outcome: To get my transcript sent to the college I'm trying to attend.

Remington College Credits did not transfer/ starting from scratch

I attended Remington College Cleveland West Campus (now closed) from [protected]. I was told several times during recruitment and career counseling that when I wanted to get my bachelor's degree, that my credits would transfer to any college. Low and behold, none of my credits transferred because they have a different accreditation than typical community and 4-year colleges. Now, after paying of over 12K in student loans, I am starting from scratch like I never event went there. I also am losing out on 2 years (4 semesters) of the Pell Grant because I used it at Remington.

I also received no guidance or help from Career Services at all after graduation. No follow up of any kind.

Desired outcome: Please be upfront and honest about accreditation differences and be specific about what colleges will accept transfer credits. A refund would be preferrable, but I highly doubt that will happen.

Remington College Enrolled before I could even think about it

In 2010 I went to Remington college to see what they offered. I was rushed and the recruiter had papers for me to sign before I had a chance to think about it. I was 59 at the time so I really wanted to think about it. B fore I knew I was enrolled and then I was told my school loan went through for $10000. Wow I was shocked

I had went to LPN school in 1992 and it was cheaper than this school

Plus at midway through I got money back to help with expenses to go to school. Nothing at Remington given to help. They took it all. The class is almost a laugh cause it didn't really matter what you did you were still going to get a good grade. Couldn't get a job cause they only wanted experienced applicants. So now I owe 14000+ and no job. Remington college in Little Rock, Ar was and is a bunch of thieves

I am 70 with no way to pay this loan

I’m a recent customer to the campus and while I was there, I observed the Dean getting loud and ugly with one of the teachers. After yelling at the teacher, the teacher became upset and walked outside. The Dean then continued to follow the teacher outside and steadily yell at her and telling her to go and put in her resignation. The teacher got in her...

Remington College Deceptive practices and failure to deliver on promises

In October 2018 I enrolled at the Nashville's campus Medical Assisting program. I was told that I would receive my degree in 12 months and all of my core classes would be transferable. I would be taught by registered nurses and certified instructors in two state of the art "medical office labs." I was also told that Remington would secure me place to do my clinic hours and provide me with job placement after graduation.

None of these promises were even in the realm of possibility because of the fundamental break down from day one.

I was required to be in class full time Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm, thus making a full time job out side of school impossible. Even though I received the full Pell grant amount, I was still required to sign for a subsidized loan for $1790 per semester.

I started classes in October 2018 and was immediately told that my "college core" classes would be fully online. Red flag number one. I was not told about any classes being online and would not have enrolled because I had zero experience with online school. On my very first day, with ZERO training I was sent to the "medical lab" to practice drawing blood from my classmates and I was to have my blood drawn in return. I had not even had one class before doing this. That was terrifying enough, but I was told we were doing this on our first day because supplies were "running low" and they were "first come first serve."

This should have been huge red flag number two, but having no idea what a medical assisting program should look like, I accepted this as very strange and did as I was instructed.

By my second week, one of the four program instructors left and never returned. We had a "sub" which was another instructor who would run from her regular class to assign us readings during our class. So one instructor, "teaching" two classes at the same time.

During class we were constantly interrupted by the administration to do other projects like acting as stewards/ushers/security during "job fairs," watch recruitment videos, and meet potential students during their tours.

Meanwhile, for the online classes we were completely left to figure it out ourselves without any support or advisement.

By December the entirety of the program was in disarray and crumbling. The "medical labs" were out of vital supplies like saline and syringes for required blood draw and injection practice. Many of the thermometers, blood pressure cuffs, autoclaves and other equipment did not work. The administration announced that the larger lab was going to be closed down and turned into an industrial kitchen so that a culinary program could be added. This meant that our classes would have to be rearranged because the amount of students in the medical assisting program could not fit due to an overlap in lab time. Many of us waited for "our turn" in the lab by sitting in the hallway until there was room. Two of the three remaining Medical Assisting program instructors were outwardly hostile because of disputes and uncertainty within company. One of the instructors announced to our class that they had had enough of working for the "college" and was leaving after class for a new job, since she was now a registered nurse, after I had been told during enrollment that all instructors were already registered nurses.

By January, we were down to two instructors for the entire program, the medical supplies we needed to complete sections of our curriculum had been "back ordered" for over two months, our main lab had been shut down, and we were wasting hours each day waiting for the administration to find us a substitute for class or cancelling class all together.

When I was shifted into my medical insurance and billing class the instructor began talking about how we would need to start interviewing for our "clinical." They told us that we needed to go out and "pound the pavement" to find an doctors office that will take us on, in direct opposition to what I was told in the beginning. I was told that they already had doctors offices that we rotated through, but that was not the case AT ALL. I spoke to several students further on in their classes and in each case they said they had to find openings, interview, and in several cases were told that they didn't accept students from Remington because they were so underprepared and uneducated!

By this time I was VERY concerned. I had been harassed by the financial aid department to come sign for my second loan payment of $1790 and when I went I asked where my tuition was going because of the terrible state of everything that was happening within the program. Their response was for me to goto the dean if I had issues.

I tried twice to get an appointment with the dean, but was canceled on both times.

I finally had enough when in March all of the students in our program were taken out of class and into the criminal justice department lecture room for an "announcement." That announcement turned into an hour long high pressure "job opportunity" from the local prison administrator for their medical department. They wanted us to fill out paperwork for jobs to work in the prisons medical unit. This was not a job opportunity, this was a prison looking for cheap, uneducated, non certified labor due to their massively high turn over. And from what I assume was the administrations way of padding their "job placement" numbers for their school.

It was truly sickening.

I quit the school and they started harassing me for the remainder of my tuition. I advised them that I would be contracting my loan servicer because I wanted the previous loan payment returned for failing to provide service. They refused and continued to call saying I owed them money.

I finally contacted a lawyer and paid to have a notice sent and the January loan disbursement returned. They kept my second Pell grant disbursement.

IF YOU ARE THINKING OF ATTENDING THIS "COLLEGE" please take a step back and look to your local, publicly funded, community college. Most of them have medical assisting (etc) programs, certificates, and Associates degrees. Community colleges are a much safer, and there is more transparency and oversight.

DO NOT be seduced by all of the promises made by these stand alone "colleges."

Desired outcome: I have filed a Department of Education Borrower Defense case against the college and I would like to be contacted in the event that a class action lawsuit is finally brought against this "college."

Remington College Lies and thieves

This school tells you anything to get you to sign up a everything is a lie. I was told that no further schooling would be needed after graduation. I was promised that they would have no issues in finding me work. I was promised everything under the sky and received nothing in return but one hell of a bill. I graduated at the top of my class Alpha Beta Kappa Honors and a GPA of 3.93 but when it became time to look for work I realized that I didn't learn anything.

The teachers in every class passed out great grades and never flunked out anyone. The reason for this, "so these so-called professors would look good and receive their paychecks. As a student one never got pass the first few chapters in a legal book that was always over 1000 pages long. We were lucky to get through 10 chapters out of 50 chapters per class. How in the world would that be considered being a full-time student when you're learning absolutely nothing but passing ever single class with an A+ furthermore the teachers under minded students by promising what a fantastic student one was and how I would have no issue finding a job.

What truly makes me sick is the promise of a better life after attending Remington college. How being a full-time student would allow me to receive monthly payments that I could live off of and not worry about looking for work. The four checks I received read $0.00 on them. I also told my professor that I had a felony on my record that was going to be expunged and that I shouldn't further my education, that in the state of California one can not be certified as a paralegal with that mark on my record. How do these people sleep at night knowing that they are robbing people left and right? If anything this school should be held accountable for their lies and manipulation.

Being promised all these great opportunities by a college is against the law. Here is just a few examples of lies and the truth I later learned.

1) In California the college one must attend an accredited college to get certified in the legal field. 2)Remington College is not an accredited college therefore I the professors and administrators lied from the very beginning.
3) none of my college credit could be transferred like they promised. Since I was told that I wouldn't need anymore schooling after finishing Remington College why at the time would I think I would need more schooling?
4)I was giving the best grades possible when I learned absolutely nothing my grades are a lie.
5)The school promised a job and that they are staffed with job counselors that will find student a job for the rest of my life time. Administration explains their resources help thousands of students every year find work.
6) My record (although expunged) makes me unable to become certified in the state of California.
7) I could live off my student loans (that was a lie).

Desired outcome: Resolve my student loan debt

Remington College Student loans improper training

Remington college promise me a career. They also misled me about the medical assistant degree. They advised me that credits were transferrable. And that I could attend any college/ university with them. I had no idea they received student loans for me. But told me that I would pay back the school. Every month I paid tuition. I never knew that they received loans and grants that they put in my name. No one will hire Remington students due to improper training.

Desired outcome: I want these student loans removed

Remington College Transcripts

I applied for a job in June of this year and my background check came back unable to find my education information. I have been attempting since then to receive a copy of my transcripts. I am supposed to start back to school on Sept 14 for my Masters. I have been unsuccessful in getting a copy of my transcripts after paying two times. I sent 3 emails with the last one stating they did not receive the necessary information from me. I did respond with that information. The second time I paid for a copy I submitted the request with the information they needed and still no response. I have sent a total of 5 emails because I am unable to get in touch with an actual person. The message states that all request be done by email. I am 11 days from my classes starting with no transcripts which of course means I will be unable to begin classes. The college that I am trying to attend has also requested a copy with no response. Please help me. Thank you. My name is Maggie Martinez, when I attended Remington my name was Margaret Weber. I graduated in 2004 with my BS degree in Information Systems out of Jacksonville FL. My phone number is [protected]

Remington College Discrimination, lies, deception fraudulent practice and misleading

Hello so I really hope that you guys can help me because I am unsure as to what else to do at this point. I am trying to obtain assistance regarding the student loans that are on my credit report. These are amounts that I did not agree to, however I have been trying to pay them in order to keep my credit score in good standing. There have been times even that I was having some financial difficulties with paying them and have reached out to the company to request a lower amount, only to be put on a forbearance after explaining to them that I would be still trying to make payments, however the amount being requested, was not affordable, on a single parent income. Again although I totally disagree with the loan, it is on my credit report and I don't know what else to do, to get them off so I have tried to regardless, pay them. The school that was the originator of this issue, is closed. The school totally lied about so many things, amounts, grants, career placement assistance. I have been totally taken advantage of and lied to.

Remington College medical assisting program

I attended Remington College in Lakewood, CO from [protected]. This school was extremely discreditable. I have so many complaints about this school I don't even know where to begin. So instead of going into too much detail I will attempt to keep this short. However I would like to be included on ANY LAWSUITS as I don't believe this school earned a dime of my money!

The school was misleading in regards to finances, quoted a final grade of A but received a B & after class teacher refused to explain to me why (actually holding her hand up to my face & telling me she's not going to talk to me about it. BTW I am a very polite person there was just a huge personality clash with this teacher), same teacher belittled my classmates by reading their papers aloud to the class & laughing at them, called everyone retarded & discouraged anyone from furthering their education into nursing stating we would all fail, teacher would tell students not to be late or don't bother coming as everyone waited in the hall for her to stroll in late, admin office wouldn't do anything about my complaint, internship coordinator didn't help find an internship, school did not represent me to the internship & fight for me the way they should have as I was let go from the program with one week left of internship. I asked to observe pediatric immunization to improve my technique (the school never taught us pediatric immunizations and I didn't feel comfortable with a 2 week old baby) teachers were not available in labs sometimes when I needed them, I don't remember if they divulged that credits would not transfer out, administrative office was very difficult to work with and was firm with the paper pushing. The result was extremely unsatisfactory.

This school was a complete waste of time! I transferred from a community college to receive an education in a less amount of time and because they told me pell would cover the entire tuition. I have regretted it ever since. I have over $6k in student loans resulting from this school and never received a diploma despite all the president's lists/dean lists I was on & 3.75 GPA (even though it should've been higher if it wasn't for a teacher on an ego trip). I should not have been terminated from the program and they should have fought for my rights as a student, representing me better. They did not cover all the topics in their curriculum. This school is another one of those predatory schools. They have left me unmarketable, with a high school loan debt and emotional about being treated unfair. I ended up having to start all over again in a different community college and after all the BS I changed fields anyways because they've left such a bad taste in my mouth & worse off than when I started. BTW the school closed down soon thereafter rumors are because of being sued.

If anyone has had any experience with getting this school discharged or with any class action lawsuit I urge you to email me letting me know your experiences. Any leads or advice would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at [protected]@yahoo.com
Thank You!

Remington College on-line hit program

I made a goal to return to school min June of 2018, at 45 years old. I am beyond upset at this point. I am set to graduate in April 2020. So many issues.

Number 1
Communication:
emails or canvas communication seems of no importance at all to instructors and administrators. If i have a question about an assignment I never get a response until after the assignment is due. The only thin instructors do is refer you to review the Rubric, no support at all, the program chair ( if you can catch whomever is the current chair) seldom responds, NEVER follows up. Basically your relationship with Remington is stronger with Financial Aide Department than any one else and that is still a problem, It is now November and I have yet to receive my refund check from September and November.

Consistancy:
As soon as you get the slights hope you are finally developing a rapport with an instructor, they are replaced by someone who does not give two craps about anything you need or any of your dilemas. Dr. Scedella Clemens is my instructor of Sociology or dictator as she is of no help and the master of directing every question to a Ruberic. I was on the deans list and now I am failing this class because everything is worth under 30 points and she takes 6-10 points off of everything I submit. As a previous instructor myself, I find it upsetting that a school can see the academic acheivement of a student go from Deans list to drastically failing and noone reaches out, noone even the program chair cares to help this student acheive what they are paying over 40K to obtain. There are too many changes in faculty and administrators its alarming and takes place without any kind of notice or announcement.

I feel like Remington Colloge does not care about the online students and disregaurds their needs, I do not get timely responses no conecction at all with anyone and Remington has my money which I am currently in the middle of reporting this situation to FAFSA and ACCSC.

Grading:
Instructors are not consistent with grading measures, Discussions are considered participation points, they take place on a discussion board I am losing a third of my points in because the instructor wants 20 point discussions done in APA 6th edition format. This is completely impossible to do in a discussion board and it is excessive for 20 points. my main concern is this OGE2525 Dr. Clemons class and the fact that money that belongs to me is still not in my possession.
