I totally agree. At the beginning of the pandemic, I was sick and called my supervisor for time off the night prior to the next workday. As I was exhibiting covid-19 symptoms, my supervisor preceded to tell me that I either had to come to work or take points. This was highly disturbing how I just had a new set of vacation time. I'm a single mother and taking points was putting my family livelihood in jeopardy. I even so far as to contact HR and received the runaround. It is truly inhuman and self-serving for this company to risk our lives especially when they are aware of its employees financial and emotional stability.
