McDonald's - Personal injury

Personal injury report

Attached are details of my accident on 06-07-2023 at McDonald's at

20922 U.S. Highway 23N Duffield, VA. 24244

An incident report was filed by Black Diamond management on scene.

I went into your restroom and had to wait for handicap stall. When young man exited I went in immediately. As he left? He turned out all the lights. 'PITCH BLACK' darkness, (they should have motion detector lights as a backup or lights that stay on while business is open).

My first thought 'Is he waiting for me to exit to rob or worse'.

Second, was trying to find the stall door latch and then try to find my way to the exit or light switch.

As I found the latch (old type slide) I opened the door, then I became very disorientated and fell trying to find a wall. I stumbled and hit the floor. Yelled for help and finally got helped to my feet again by customers.

911 was called and local paramedics administered and evaluated my injuries. Was advised to have arm, knee, head seen soon. Did not want to go to a E.R. in Virginia so I had my daughter continue and bring me home. Went to Aultman Hospital E.R. in Canton, Ohio at around 9pm and released at around 1am.

Wounds were cleaned again, x-rays and C.A. T. scan was done. Results were negative for any breakage but C.A. T. results were inconclusive as to concussion. I was told to monitor any changes in vision or dizziness and seek aid again if I experienced any. I also was told (which I knew) pain could last for weeks until the body heals it's self.

Still in a lot of pain and may have twisted my back or neck trying to keep from falling.

Still having headaches and taking pain pills everyday since.

I've made a follow up appointment with my primary doctor on Thursday 06/15/2023

I'm seeking to have all of my medical, ambulance and doctor bills paid plus some compensation for my trauma and pain.

If the safety and security of your customers is of utmost concern then it's your responsibility to do so.
