This past Friday (7/5/19) I went to Food Lion in Hillsville Va. to pick up a few items. It was busy with 3 lines open. I found one had one person so I went to get into line. A man came out of the line and said..."don't get into this line.. she won't wait on you". I got into line anyway and watched as the cashier (Robin) was carrying on a conversation with a male she must have known. She told me to go to another line as she was waiting for a customer to come back with something he forgot.
She hadn't started checking his full cart of items yet... I said I only had a few items... she again said to go into another line. There was not a 10 item or less open. The other lines were 4 or more deep. It took quite awhile for the customer to come back with his forgotten items. She greeted him with a birthday wish and continued to carry on a conversation with both men. Taking her good ole time while the lines got deeper. When I finally got checked out. there was no greeting or any communication. Basically tossed my items after scanning. Never said a thank you or any communication afterwards. Will not go back!
Another customer came up to me as I was getting into my car to say how terrible the checker Robin was to me. Growing up in Salisbury, NC I always thought Food Lion was know for it's customer service... no longer!
