November 8, 2021, I was not well and asked my wife to go out to SunTrust Bank and make a payment on my auto loan that they service. She was turned away because she had cash and told that only, I could physically go in and pay. I physically went and Deepak the teller and later the manager Shirley Sanchez confirmed that it is a new company policy that only account holders can physically show up and pay in cash. Else, whoever you send has to have a check to pay for an auto loan they service!
Surprisingly too, I was not even asked to prove that I was the rightful account owner. When I asked why, I was told they could tell by how upset that I was the true account owner, and they took the money. I am not sure of my way forward with SunTrust bank if I am so limited on payment modes.
