I've been banned from donating plasma at BioLife in 2022 due to coming in 1 day early twice - once at the Tukwila, WA location & once at the Lacey, WA location - both instances were purely accidental & unintentional. I'm strongly convinced that this is a case of AI Inflexibility over Common Human Empathy & Understanding. I was a consistent BioLife donor, and have even referred others to BioLife. I don't understand why the computer questionnaire before donation did not notify me that I was too early to donate (as is done at other plasma centers, who value each life-saving and sustaining donor.) It was an honest mistake, and no other plasma company has ever treated me this harshly for a mistake; my issue could be easily solved if the computer recognizes a donor's donation eligibility before screening. Is there any way my restriction could be lifted? I was referred to the BioLife plasma website contact page to look further into this issue by a BioLife rep responding to my BioLife review on Google. Again I'm sure this is a case of AI inflexibility over understanding of human error as I was flagged in the computer, but had no malicious intent and now have no remedy. Aside from this misunderstanding, I genuinely think BioLife is the best plasma donation company in my vicinity to donate at and would like to return. Hence I am trying to reestablish my being a valued plasma donor at BioLife.
Desired outcome: Lift my permanent deferral w/BioLife. & Fix donor questionnaires to determine donors' last donation date to prevent over-donation/cross-donation. End automatic assumption of malicious intent. Value Donors.
BioLife Plasma Services - Donor Deferral, Customer Service
Permanently deferred from donating plasma at BioLife after coming in 1 day early to donate on 2/13/22. I was flagged in the computer system as the 2nd time this happened, but both instances were honest mistakes- Wasn't trying to cheat the system, could've just told me to come back the next day. Despite referring others to BioLife... Devalued donor.
Desired outcome: Remove the donor deferral from my acct. & treat donors w/more empathy; I've provided lifesaving plasma for years. I was informed by Tukwila that only the Lacey center can remove the donor deferral. Please excuse an honest mistake.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
BioLife Plasma Services - Hematoma
So I've been in about 8 times. The first donation was awesome and had NO problems. After that things took a drastic turn. 7 out of the 8 times I've been in they've messed up and had to poke me TWICE EACH TIME. This last donation did me in though. The second to last donation an incredibly INEXPERIENCED young woman seemed to mess up my left vein. Then this last donation, another inexperienced employee went straight threw my vein and now I have a GIANT hematoma and extreme arm pain. Something needs to be done
BioLife Plasma Services - deferral
I've e been a loyal donor for a couple of year until recently when I was deferred for my elevated heart rate. I have done everything that was asked of me. It took months of appointments and phone calls and was ultimately deferred due to my medication, propranolol. The doctor, w/o examination, told the nurses to tell me that this medication was not an acceptable solution and to get something more permanent. When I asked the nurses what is acceptable they replied "Not that."
I would like this issue resolved in a more professional manor, immediately, and I look forward to your reply and resolution to my problem.
Sincerely,
Maya Sinclaire
