I tried the usell.com website knowing that it was probably a scam, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to send in some old phones that were lying around collecting dust. They promised money for cell phones sent in, as long as it could power up, make phone calls, and the lcd screen was undamaged. I received a quote for two cell phones, that both meet the requirements previously stated, on 11/03/10. These phones were in perfect working order. The first quote was for an lg envy 2 and was for just under $30 the second quote for for just under $20 for an lg chocolate 2. After waiting nearly 2 months I figured my assumption was correct and it was a scam, but I received an email saying my check was in the mail. I received a check on 12/29/10 for $9 stating that if it was for the wrong amount it was because my phone didn't meet the requirements. I have yet to receive any communication about the second phone. The company does not provide a customer service phone number and even though you are provided with a user name and password I have yet to find a way to login and check on my account. I have also received no responses to my emails sent to their customer service department. Long story short this is a nice idea but it is a scam. I hope they truly recycle the phone, but don't send in a phone expecting money in return.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Same thing happened to me. I sent in my phone 3 weeks ago and they still claim they haven't recieved it yet. However, my phone was valued at $78.
Usell.com also defrauded me. I sent them a Samsung Memoir, which they quoted at 70 dollars, and then they sent me a check for 18 dollars instead.
When I emailed them, they claimed that I sent them a Samsung Behold, which is a totally different phone. I have never owned a Samsung Behold. They lied, they stole, they cheated.
They eventually stopped answering my email and refused to give me any phone numbers or addresses to escalate the issue.
Whenever a class action lawsuit opens up, I want to be a part of it.
Lawyers, my email address is natelan@gmail.com and I am willing to appear in court. Thank you.
We must always be wary of fast companies such as Usell... I located some information the BBB website that may helpful to you all as well as myself I am about to send in phones as of today...this morning...Also for future reference use the Sunbiz .org or any business license fictious name saerch all legitamate companies must have one and also be registered with there state and county some states require both county and city filings...

i am also like most of you whom got ripped off.. i sent in 2 perfectly good working phones valued at $56.. got their shipping "bag" which was basically safe enough to protect my sandwich when i was in grade school. so i thought to myself, let me take an extra step and bubblewrap them for safety.. so now i wait.. and to my surprise i got a check from usell.com within a week. i was super stoked and opened it right away.. my excitement haulted abruptly since the check was now for $12.60. ive contacted them on their facebook fan page with NO replies and also emailed them with surprisingly NO replies.
they are a joke and need to be brought down ASAP.
I sent two phones also into usell.com . The phones were LGUX280 and they quoted me $69.00 per phone. After a month i e-mailed them and they said I was quoted for a totally different phone because that is the serial numbers I put in. I have never owned that type of phone so how could I have made that mistake. They said my two Lg phones are worth nothing and they can not send my phones back to me. This is a scam to get good working phones. My phones worked perfect and only one year old, I paid over $100.00 each. Jennifer Holley dragonwife3@yahoo.com

Usell is a dirty thief that steals our trust and money.
My case is similar to those one above. They quoted higher than they actually paid. And when I said I want my cell phones back, they said that their policy is that "we do not send phones back once we receive them." What a thief.
Hope the authorities can do something with this company.
Hope no more people will get scam with this dirty thief.

Got me also! Sent them 4 phones in perfect working condition. 3 Iphone 3G and ATT Tilt all valued supposedly $249.00 Received my check today for a whopping $18.20 WOW!

I agree Usell is a HUGE scam.I sent them a Blackberry Tour 9630 and was quoted $32.00 I got that check. The next week 2 sent 2 phone worth $67.00 it's been over a month. I haven't heard anything, no email no nothing, This company is full of ### and something need yo be done about it.
Contact NFIC complaint board if you want something done about USell. Just contact your attorney generals office and file a formal complaint. I did if enough people do this maybe they will get what they have coming to them.
Same happened to me, wish I would have seen these complaints before I sent the phone in. I figured it wasn't a scam because they have a pretty legit commercial on tv that plays ALL the time but I sent in a phone they quoted to send me $80 for and I haven yet to see a check. I also was sent a password to login to their website but oh wait, they don't have anywhere to "login"!
I sent my palm pixi plus phone for a quote of 400.00 and have recieved 0.00. I complained to the maine atterney generals office I am so mad. I can't believe It was a scam since it was advertised on tv, I thought it would be safe. It's just not right:(
I sent in a cellphone priced at $65 because it was a touch screen, if there is a class action sue please contact me at ladeejade1023@aim.com
I got a quote and got my check! And the check was fake! I'm mad I hope they get what's coming to them!
I sent a motorola i1 quote at 265.00 a mouth in a half ago and all I have received so far is a promise to check on status.if there is a class action suite I so I want to be a part of it.

Thanks everyone for their valuble comments, i ve been online this weekend how to sell my phone online also, even made accounts that were very easy to make, came across the website mentioned above, and im glad i didnt send them anything, the quotes i got were 30 and 18 dollars for some old phones but ill find another way to sell, thanks again
Out of all the posts on this company or should I say scam artist. I did not see anything about anybody taking any pictures of their phones that were sent in. You know they say a picture is worth a thousand words! Sorry to hear about all the you folks that were ripped off! And the guy who posted he worked for them, you ought to be very proud of yourself to be a part of a scam like this. Especially during these difficult times. Do you not think? all these people actually knew what they purchased to begin with. I mean hell ! I know what phone Im using right today. And if I was to sell it, I'd damn sure know what model and brand it was. I hope someone out there is actually investigating your company, becuase it really sounds to me that USELL, needs to be taking down! Good luck to whoever decides to deal with this ghost company! Beacuse I sure wont!
@tinram65
Hey you knob, what the hell would taking a picture of the phone you sent in make any difference. How do you prove the one you sent was the one you took a picture of. Da?
Maybe if you took a video of the phone being put in the envelope and than video the trip to the post office and dropping it off, but YOU COULD STILL stop, replace the phone and edit the TAPE.
SO WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT PROVE?
DONT SEND IN YOUR PHONES.ITS A SCAM...IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE ...THAN IT PROBABLY IS, ...YAH THINK...GEZZX DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST AMERICA.SHAM ON THE SPOKES PERSON ON TV.YOU CAN TELL HES OUT TO JUST MAKE A BUCK REGUARDLESS OF WHO GET HURT...SHAM ON YOU!
I sent in a nice, untouched Blackberry Phone to this company. It was quoted at $48. The mailer envelope came quickly, I placed the phone, and being generous, also included the charger, earphone and what accesories I could. I figured, why not give them everything, I have no use for it.
Then several days later I received this email...
We're processing your order as we speak.
We're just dotting our I's and crossing our T's to make sure your phones match your information and the quote you received. When that's done, we'll send you an email letting you know the status of your payment.
In the meantime, pat yourself on the back for being so environmentally cool. And spread the word to your friends and get them to do the same!
Thanks,
Doug Feirstein

P.S. Your check amount, if any, may be different than the quote you received if you sent in fewer phones or a different cell make or model than what was quoted.
Please do not reply to this email. To connect with someone in our Customer Support area, email us at support@uSell.com.
I then sent an email to the support address...only to get a logon template to discuss it. I did that and now it sits as an open issue, with nothing replied to or commented on since then. That was on 5/21/11...I could have turned it into Verizon, my cell phone company, for $24, like I did with several other phones and got credit within 3 business days. How many T's are you crossing and I's are you dotting?
well i sent in two phones...one was a droid and one was an i phone, and they sent me a check for 130 for the droid and 100 for the i phone but really i was supposed to get 140 for the i phone, but im cool at least i got something...
I also have had the same problem.
First they made a quote, never received my envelope, so a month later I requested another and accepted my new reduced quote.
2 months after I first started this, I was finally sending out my phone, well before the offer was to expire.
I waited, over a month, never got any update e-mails like they claim they will send.
Now it is over 2 months since I mailed them my phone, and 4 months since I started all this, and still no check or update e-mails.
Customer Service via e-mail is a joke, and there is no true Telephone Customer Service, just a number that has voice message which tells you Thank You, e-mail us, then cuts off and hangs up on you. Complete BS customer service. However, I did get ahold of them via e-mail. Took several days but finally someone returned an e-mail requesting my 'order' status. They informed me that They had received my phone, but now its worth nothing, even though it met all the criteria for their quote. All this time, no update e-mails, I was thinking my phone was lost in the mail, but no, they recycled it, 2 months ago, and neglected to tell me anything about receiving it, appraising it, nothing.
Looked into the BBB, and they have a big fat F, and are no where near accredited with the BBB.
Yet, if you go to their website right now, theres a BBB accredited Logo that says they are.
If this doesn't say Liars and Scam Artists to you, then what will?
Time for a Class Action Lawsuit, I am currently looking into it.
When I e-mailed Usell back, and told them I had a big problem and if this wasnt corrected I would take further action, Boy did I get a Prompt E-mail, several actually, wanting to call me tomorrow to work this out. I told them to call me now, tomorrow may be too late, if they can e-mail me, they can call me... Now the e-mails have stopped... am I wrong to imagine them Shaking in their Boots right now?
Anyone who has had this problem, e-mail me your story!

Help me build my ammo!
Usell also ripped me off. i sent them an nokia 2067 slide up 3months ago..they told me i would get my check in the mail 1week later and it's going on 4months now, and i still didn't recieve any payment...the company is very lucky i don't have a number to call them cause they will be hearing from my lawyer...
usell are thieves, i sent them 10 phones and got an email my check is the mail, well it been 3 months. plus theres no way to call them, even though i have a number for them all the recording does is direct u to their lying website. i knew it was probaly to good to be true and it was. they need to be shut down, reported and exposed for the crooks they are. class action law suit .COUNT ME IN. if n e body wants the number here it is but its useless1-[protected]
Thanx for the heads up guys saved me 2 iPhones and lost them 2 iPhones nice job I'm sure this site has impacted their bottom line I'm sure jeep it up!

Thank God I found the "uSell" scam site! My goal this morning was to arrange to sell 3 of my cellphones, and like many others, I watch a lot of TV and figured they were legit. Boo to USELL ! After reading these complaints I'll be donating them to the local hospital. They in turn give them to people who REALLY need them!
