Once you sign up you MUST give a credit card.
It states you have 14 days to cancel however if you use your gigs during that first day and you want to cancel, you are not allowed to do so. It will give you an error when you try to cancel.
This will result in you forgetting about the account and then being charged $115.00 for the year which you will never use.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Usenext are compeltly fraudlant. I was subscribing for 10 months, then cancelled and suddenly they charged me 25 euros (Instead of the usual 8 Euros) 6 times in the space of a week. none of the numbers work for helpline, they have no e-amial address for any contact. They are just totally dishonest and fraudlant. if they do this to me they have probably done this to thousands of others. Can they be stopped or proesecuted?

If you find a way to stop them let me know cause I have no idea what or who they are I do not download anything to my computor without my IT guys ok. now this company is asking for 160.78 EuR and I have no idea how much or what for.
i have a similar problem, the last time i used it was February 2008, and last week i got a letter from their solicitors asking me for £99.00, because i never notified them of cancellation, which i am certain i did but a year later is hard to remember, plus if your payment is not received by them on time each month you cannot use the account anyway. and they are saying i signed up for the one-off payment which has to paid up front before you can use it, but there would be no chance of me signing up for that option anyway as i am unemployed and rarely have any cash left in my bank.
i am hoping to seek advice from citizens advice this week.

They have returned my money, but this does not excuse them from the fact that they "tried this on" I started legal action against them and used the credit card compnay to give them a minus rating, only after all this work and effort fdid they return my money. i am sure there are many people who will not bother for a miserly 200 euros and let it go, times that but 10, 000 people and you have $2, 000, 000, which is not bad for doing nothing. Even thought these people returned my money they should be put in jail for this kind of activity.
You are absolutely right. I tried to subscribed to UseNeXT this week by providing my credit card information.
This awful company charged me almost $17 for "14 trial service".

I used UseNext once or twice 2 years ago. But recently I got an email from UseNext that I have to pay 105 euros which occured from Feb 2008 to Feb 2009 and on top of that I haven't used UseNext for 2 years.
They sent me the following message:
Reminder

I am 100% sure I haven't used UseNext in that period of time.
What should I do? I think it's total scam.
Some please help me.
i should have read these complaints before:
i joined in the trial in sept09. my G3-powerbook did not work with the usenext-client. i spend some time to get it running with the sparse help of the helpline. no succes. then i told the helpline to cancel the whole thing. they said it was ok. after they billed me for a year. which i contested. then i did not hear from them until now, when they send me an incasso-company asking for 170euro.
best regards, julean
I tried the free trial of usenext over 2 years ago and while ok wasn't exactly what I was looking for so cancelled before the end of the "free" trial.
A few weeks ago I get an e-mail reminding me I owe them just over £100. Go to usenext and log in to the account I cancelled. Turns out it wasn't cancelled with no way to prove that I in fact cancelled during the free trial. They wait 2 YEARS before sending me a payment demand, no other communication during that time at all. I respond explaining my side of things and asking them to clarify a few points, next e-mail I receive is from a debt collection agency.
A nice big bill for something I've never used. Save yourself grief and stay the hell away from these cowboys.
Just inform the FBI:
http://www.ic3.gov/contact/default.aspx;
then they will know that we are serious! No I get no emails anymore of usenext!
I have the same experiences: blocked my credit account, and try to refund my money at the credit card company!
I should've came here first. I was charged 4 bucks for the trial and found out the hard way that their files have viruses.
I cancelled but tomorrow I am gona go cancel my card in case they try and scam me.
Don't ever have an account with these people! I was trying to sign up and at the end my computer failed. I thought it didn't work and them I decide not to have it and after 15 days they billed me as if I had an account. They never sent a confirmation email or anything and they made me pay for that. I asked for a refund and they said no, and it was all their fault. They are thief, be careful with what you do!
They just took a renewal annual payment through PayPal without sending a renewal notice. I logged a dispute and PayPal which went in my favour. Just awaiting PayPal to refund me.
It is illegal to take a renewal subscription without prior notification.
The majority downloads are recorded in cinemas anyway so the quality is awful.
