Service
We visited store 772 at 1230ish on 12/27/21 and we were ignored while the staff waited on customers who sat down after us. No big deal until we noticed the other tables had their drink order taken and their coffee was made and delivered to them before anybody even spoke to us. We left and went to a different location. There was plenty of staff on duty and only a few customers in at the time so they saw us. Very disappointed in this location.

Complaint
I was at the waffle house in forest, ms and one of the waitresses was very rude. Her name was Daphne. We asked our waitress for plastic eating utensils due to the viruses. Our waitress told us that they did not have any. Daphne was on the opposite side waiting tables not on our side. Our waitress must have told or ask her about the plastic silverware and Daphne hollered out that they did not have any and that no one was buying any. We did not ask her to buy any silverware, and no one ask her for anything. She said what she said so loud that the entire restaurant could hear it, including us.
Our waitress was very professional and nice and we made the manager aware of what was done.
Desired outcome: Reprimanded or wrote up
Missing food and completely greased bottom bun of hamburger
We stop in this waffle house every Saturday to get to go breakfast. We always order a fiesta omelet with a side of sausage and a double cheeseburger plate. The past 3 times we haven't received our sausage and were charged for it. This past Saturday my bottom bun was soaked completely with grease... unacceptable. I know there is a gratuity added for to go...

I am tired of the customers that come into Waffle House and demand to be served right away, a 24 hour chain yess but. It's several different steps to get things into play it's prep, shift change understaffed, overwork and, New hire, first of if these same customers go into apple bees, oh Charley's longhorns 20, 30 minutes o Or more wait time. They come in and there is no back of the house the back of the house is the front of the house they see what's going on we're packed out or is only one person on the floor they come in and be like can we get service can we order why can't we sit over there to only sit over there on the side that is blocked off because it's only one sales person and complain that they're not getting service when is a family of 4, All the booths field up on the one side people at the high counter and the phone ringing, Why are the workers rude and Waffle House because y'all think people of ours caliber are not educated, slow and POS workers, come in because you're having a bad day to take it out on one of the servers that's trying to just serve you and make money to take care of their family, you don't know just five minutes before you walked in they got their butt kicked because somebody won a baseball game and now the whole team and everybody that came with the team wants to eat so you come in And because you don't know before hand just happened and the restaurant appears all cleaned out, there's nobody in there and you think that I should be able to get food fast but what you don't know is that the, cook just getting out of the bathroom from our most heat exhaustion because the lady in the corner is freezing and she was the heat on with the grill 108° behind the counter there is a million dishes and tea to be made but in steel you want your food cook when you walk through the door now only being rude you downgrade don't tip and come in to see a show that's not a show it's exhaustion headache pain frustration and a question of why for the customers they do come in a tube and have patience thank you so much but the ones that don't wanna ruin it for everybody else your going to miss your servers and cooks cause the younger generation is not going to stand for your crap from you customers I think you get privilege opportunities if you like the dining so much and like being able to come out late hours treat people with respect, we work for Waffle House company? yes! we are here to give you a service yes but we are not your servers that you can dump on because you think we're below you.
Desired outcome: Clear and decent representation for the Company other half corporate without employees don’t work. Stand up for us we are on the front line getting bashed cause we came to work
Restaurant
Okay so it is 4:00 in the morning I have visited 4 waffle House restaurant in the areas of East point college Park hapeville and also another one in East point locations and at the first one they tell me they're closed but there's seven people inside standing around doing nothing and did not bother to tell me when they would be open to take orders okay so then the second location in hapeville there's cars outside but the doors locked and no one is inside maybe in the back area but they're obviously not taking orders either so third location The woman inside tells me and this is college Park that she's not taking any more orders but she's cooking for the guy that's there because that's one of her friends and they're not taking any more orders and does not bother to tell me when they will be taking orders again so I asked her when they're taking orders and she says I have no idea we're cleaning so there's no telling when we will be open for taking orders okay fourth location in East point they're closed no lights nobody's there I could have swore that waffle House was a 24-hour restaurant and I'm busy most of my time through the day and I sleep evening time and I'm up at night working and I like to have a meal sometimes so I thought that waffle House at least one would be open for business but I can't get a meal out of four locations to me that's bull because waffle House has always been 24 hours I understand that the coronavirus maybe change that I don't know but I don't care you can't tell me all these places or locations are having something going on at the same damn time so now there's absolutely nowhere to eat at this time of the night and besides that all the employees they're rude they have no smile on their face they don't care to point you in a direction where you can go or what time you can eat or you'll be able to eat it just doesn't make any sense to me I'm probably going to just stop trying to deal with waffle house. Because it's obvious they are not wanting business like they used to so that's my complaint thanks
Desired outcome: I would just like for waffle House to get their s*** together and open like they're supposed to and have good customer service when they do that's all
Service at Waffle House
We went to Waffle House 335. Every table was dirty, Emily cleaned our table after we sat for several min. We finally ordered. The bacon was served 10 min before food. The cook, Laura, threw a pancake at another employee. She swept & wiped under the stove, and kept wearing same gloves to cook. Laura was yelling at the other coworkers in front of customers.
One of our orders came 10 min after the other 2. Food was cold by the time each order was received. Couldn't get drinks refilled. Cook seemed more concerned about orders to go than customers inside waiting. Our orders were totally screwed up. Worst experience ever.
Desired outcome: Better food and service all around

The heating system has been broken in the low counter section for YEARS . On the coldest days it just blows cold air . Im a regular customer and should not have to wear two jackets to dine in your restaurant . If this cant be fixed i will start dining at IHOP which is farther away but always comfortable inside. A employee told me the heating unit is shot and cant be fixed .
Desired outcome: Please fix the heat !!!!!!!!
Employment and management
So on November 17th I was accused of stealing food or taking food or something like that and one of my co-workers had called the management and said that that's what I was doing and district manager called said that I was to leave and I was been taking off schedule I wait a couple of days no calls or text, nothing I texted the manager to see if I was put back on schedule or what was going on and he said apparently I was fired on the grounds of hearsay no one check the cameras nobody talk to me no messages no calls or emails stating anything not even what went on. And no paperwork like I just want to do my job. I didn't take nothing home I didn't give anything free or anything why didn't they look at the cameras I mean why are they not doing their job there are cameras for a reason I've already called the hotline and everything, I have a case number it's about to be Thanksgiving and Christmas why would I take when I'm about to make so much more cause of the holidays come on all I want is my job I feel like why is no one checking on this to even see if it's TRUE or not. I was treated so unfairly.
Desired outcome: I want my job in being a master Grill OP what I was hired for. And paid for all this time I couldnt work because management failed to follow protocol
Employee
On Nov 11, 2021 I was visiting in Columbia SC on Veterans day and all I wanted was Waffle house. Even though as a Vet I could have went a lot of other places to receive free food. I was under the weather so I wanted to call my order in. When I called in Sarah an employee of Waffle house answered the phone and then hung up. At this time she did not know that I was actually pulling in and looking at her while she was laughing with another employee. I then attempted to call back and didn't answer the phone even though it was in her hand. When I went inside I asked Sarah why did she hang up on me and she stated that the grill was down and she didn't know how tell me that over the phone.
Being unprofessional
Myself wife and friend of family were eating at the waffle house when the manger decided to address our server by the name of Becky about being late in front of everyone and it was also a black guy at the high counter also who the manager also got water all over him twice and never said sorry but we thought it was very unprofessional to confront this young...

I will never spend another dime in any of your restaurants. Shame on you Waffle House... shame shame
Desired outcome: employees fired immediately and owner and staff need some training

manager
There is a manger named Dawn at store #750 on north Keeneland in Richmond Ky that wants to get into everyones business, you can go in and sit and talk to someone at your table or at the high bar or eat without her up in your business and if you try to act like she not there she gets louder for the whole store to hear her to where you have to talk to her she is rude and she does that to everyone. Also have see her bully her employees to the point they have quit, example one was sick to the point they was in the bathroom losing there lunch sorta speak and coughing all over the place pale, but wouldnt let her go home I left I didnt want to get sick didnt know if they had covid or not didnt want to take the change. Come to find out the girl was told to get dr excuse or she was fired cause she didnt come in next day and she did with a 103 temp she showed few of us because we thought that was bs everyone could tell she was sick the few days before that she wouldnt let her go home. But we all knew she didnt like her she even told few of us she didnt want her there because of here personality among other things but that should have kept to herself not been put out for everyone to know why she didnt like her or few others that she didnt like which she made it known also like some of the costumers. This happens all the time with this manger and she had said about alot of customers she really dont care if they come back or not she dont need them to come back she cares less one less she has to cook for.
Desired outcome: fired or removed from that store to another one

Waffle House
10-1-21 Friday night ~8:00 pm
We drove up to the Waffle House location listed above to experience the absolute worst dining ever.
There were 4 females and one male on shift.
The restaurant was not full. 5 tables total including my party.
The place was dirty and employees were advising customers about how long it would before the orders were taken. 20-25 minutes
As we sat and observed, we saw everyone but the man cooking just standing around talking. We overheard, " We are having problems. Everyone here is in training. No one knows what to do. " Meanwhile a sign was placed on the door that only take out orders were available. At least 13 families were turned away.
When customers began to catch on to the laziness in the work ethic, they became concerned. 3 of the 5 employees were standing outside with men who had driven up. Meanwhile, employees were smoking while still on the clock and we're expected to be getting food out to the few tables inside.
"We heard well we only get paid 2.70 per hour. " All the while we were thinking of you would just turn your tables and serve customers then you would be making much more than that.
Clearly no one in their restaurant wanted to work hard except the tall, young gentleman who cooked everyone's food relentlessly.
It wasn't the best food. Mostly overcooked but considering the help he had, it was forgivable. I will not ever go back to this location.
My husband and I own a small business. We would want someone to share this experience with us so that we could do what is necessary to turn this place around. Best wishes to creating a better reputation for this location.
Weekly paycheck mistakes
I work as a dishwasher / door corp part time at the Waffle House location on Ingleside Road Norfolk Virginia, and am finding it near to impossible to get my correct weekly paycheck. I was originally hired as a server / sales person, but have been reassigned due to my poor hearing to door corp. As well, my weekly hours have been cut in half as a result of my handicap, but that is not the issue truly. What is bothering me is that although I only work on Saturdays and Sundays, it seems that every Wednesday when I check my bank account, I have received less than I should have been paid from them for my hours worked. The result of this is that I have to get up, get dressed, and drive all the way down to the location to speak with the managers, who claim I will get my missing pay added to next week's paycheck. This is a problem because gasoline for my vehicle is far from affordable, and I should not have to make an extra trip on my day off to get paid for the hours I have worked. It is bad enough that I am only being allowed to get 14 hours per week because I am legally deaf, but I at least want the payment for those hours without having to waste gas every week to get my paycheck problems worked out. To be fair, some of this is my mistake, because I have been using the often defective computer login board to clock in to work, and checking in as a salesperson, instead of as a door corp, but this is what I was shown to do during initiation at work, and was never told to change this. This gives them the ability to illegally pay me less than minimum wage for the hours I work, on the assumption that the missing pay is made up for in tips, but dishwashers do not get tips, so this is flawed thinking. Every week, they are paying me $2.50 per hour, instead of the $13 per hour they hired me for, and they are deducting a large amount of money from my gross pay for tips that I never got. I now know that I am supposed to check in as door corp to get my proper pay rate, but they still owe me for the previous hours I worked that they have not paid me for, and I want my paychecks corrected as soon as is possible, because my bills will not wait until East Coast Waffles figures out their errors!
Desired outcome: Reimbusement for lost wages.
Omg I'm having that same problem here in Dallas TX on Ross ave
No hire list
I worked for waffle house at several different locations in different states. The last one I worked at the manager didn't like a lot of the female employees. He harassed them treated them like the were beneath him. He in turn put several of us on the no hire list. I loved working for waffle house. When I moved I returned to waffle house several times because I was an excellent worker. Now I would like to return to work for them but I am on the no hire list. Now the manager that put several women on this list got fired for smoking Crack and stealing. Now because of his actions there are 3 out more waffle houses near me that are looking for good help and I cannot go back to work for waffle house. It's a shame good workers are being turned down with the pandemic going on. Things need to change because you have good people wanting to work that are being turned down.
Desired outcome: My desired outcome? Let good hard wiring people work if your in such bad need
Said they aren't taking orders.
Was told on Sunday, September 5th, 2021 that they were not taking orders. I know this is certainly nor the case. I was a Waffle House employee for 2 years, and this is not the Waffle House Way. Please be sure to know that I only seek for you to improve the treatment of future customers and nothing more, as I felt personally offended. Thanks. Your food is awesome sauce!
