SUBJ: Customer Service (Clerk telling me "get your coffee and get the hell out of my store"
WOW, I have never so humiliated as I have by my visit to Wawa this evening. The incident occurred on Friday at 7:30 pm on 4377 Holland Road store in Virginia Beach and now it is Saturday morning at 2:00 am and I still cannot sleep. I have been a loyal Wawa customer since they opened the 1st store in Virginia Beach on Rosemont Rd in the late 90's. I have been to every Wawa in Hampton Roads and I always said this location is my favorite location until this incident. It is the most convenient location. It is on the way to work and near Mt. Trashmore Park where I exercise. I visit this store almost twice everyday, once in the morning and once in the evening. I mainly buy coffee, gas, minor groceries and order from the deli. As I walked in the store at around 7:30 pm, I noticed the clerk (Jadelyn) take the sample coffee cup rack and placed it behind the counter. After getting my coffee I decided to confront him based on what I observed. I approached him and ask to speak to him and I requested that a witness be present as I confront him. The witness was his co-worker (Malik). I told him I saw what he did and I told him it was inappropriate and I felt uncomfortable by his actions. He admitted to hiding the sample coffee rack because, according to him, I always come and try the sample coffee. He said it is for sampling. He further went on to say, I always come to the store and get coffee and hang outside the store for half hour in a very angry manner. He is correct that I visit that store in the evenings 4 to 5 times per week. I am a cyclist and after work, I stop at that store for Snapple, water, coffee and take a break from cycling. I never bothered anyone and I am always on the phone as I am taking my break from cycling and quenching my thirst. I told him I come to this store every morning and always buy coffee among other things. Everyone at the store knows me well and we are very friendly with each other. I even complimented the crew and told them this is my favorite Wawa store. I asked him why is it such a problem that I take a sample cup in the evening? He made a point to single me out and harass me by deliberately taking the sample coffee rack from the front and put it behind the counter. I asked him why is he treating me this way. I told him other customers always come in and grab multiple cups filled with ice and he never complains. I asked why the sample coffee cup was such a big deal. I reminded him that it is offered as a free complimentary service. I asked why am I being singled out? He was very angry speaking to me like I am a child. I told him this is not customer service and I want to speak to the manager. He said he was the manager. I know the manager his name is Sam and his picture is on the wall. I told him I will be speaking to Sam in the morning. I added, if you are the manager, what kind of example are you setting for your employees regrading customer service. All of the employees were looking at me and Malik had a grin on his face. I am the director of an education department at a local university and have been a manager for 20 years. I have never been so humiliated in my life. To make matters worse, at the end of our discussion, Jadelyn told me "GET YOUR COFFEE AND GET OUT OF MY STORE" in a yelling manner in front of all clerks and customers. I am 49 years old who is professional and a very pleasant person. Jadelyn made me feel like a child who has done a very bad deed and decided to punish me. He seemed to have anger issues. Although that was my favorite store, I do not feel comfortable going into that store anymore. I have always complimented Wawa and its people but today I am not sure if I can say the same. He ruined my evening. I had plans to take my wife out to dinner and I canceled our dinner plans because of the state of mind I found myself in. Additionally, my wife is a regular customer as well. Her and I always visit Wawa every morning before we head off to work. Wawa has been our meeting place for many years. We always buy Wawa gift cards for each other on special occasions. I am appalled by Jadelyn's action and I am requesting a formal apology.

So my brother went into Wawa on Easton Ave in Bethlehem Pa didnt realise his I.D. Expired so they didnt serve him cause of it.. I went in a few minutes after to purchase what he couldnt and the Old Lady with the nasty red hair gave me a hard time Saying its against the Law to serve me since I went in after him! Mind you I'm 23 and he's 21 ! And to top it off they didnt I.D. The people in front of us! They WILL never get my service again!
lack of consumer caring
I was at store #8326 140 Essex St Lido N.J. 07644 PH # [protected] on 06/10/2017 at 6: 00 a.M. There was a hand full of customers in the store look for their morning hot drinks [ COFFEE, TEA, HOT CHOCOLATE ] when they asked why there were none they were told about a water problem. NO WATER we asked about putting signs on the doors and were told a sign was put on the soda machine and at the restrooms. MUST BE TO MUCH TROUBLE TO PUT ON DOORS TO INFORM PEOPLE AHEAD OF TIME . Called WA C/S left message. Called back at 9:08 a.m. spoke to a very nice person he told up that the water problem was reported to corp. and store GM at 9:38 p.m. the nite before. So from that time on could think about putting signs on the door.Customer service person helpful but limited. Asked for call back from corp. and not the store. THANK YOU Wayne Leon
cleanliness
This location lacks the cleanliness of the night crew n morning crew. Messy bathrooms n back side of store is dirty. Wow! I have been here many times when the local police officers are here sometimes even at 5 in the morning this place is so clean and I am always impressed but this evening I was very disappointed and I am not sure if I would come back here at this time again. I know there are manager shifts I'm not sure what time but whatever manager is on at this time at 11 p.m. on June 9th should be reprimanded for not keeping the store clean . I have seen this place a lot cleaner at 1 am than at 11 pm. I have seen a lot of great managers and I am not sure what is going on I feel sorry for the next manager that comes on to shift
wawa beef steak bowl
I just stopped into the Delmar location its now 7:30 pm and they don't have mashed potatoes to make the bowl this has happened at the ocean view, de. Location and millsboro, see. Location as well when I asked what the problem was stay blame was being past off. I would rather you be honest and say we don't do mashed potatoes at this location. I believe this is poor management. As far as ordering or communication. If you are no longer keeping this product in please let me know. Because that's the only reason i go to wawa.
hoagie
The girl who made my hoagie slammed down the roll on the counter loudly and put barely any avocado on roll and gave me sandwich with soggy roll . I had to ask her not to wrap my sandwich too tight becausse im tired of having bruised cucumber and spinach on squished roll. This only happens at the wawa on marlton pike in cherry hill nj 08003. There are two girls there who refuse to make sandwich correctly. Everytime a guy makes my sandwich i have no issues. Ridiculous management cant correct the two female sandwich makers so i wont return. I told manager but he refuses to correct situation.
not having the drink that most wawa's carry
Hi,
I recently came to your establishment looking to get some Lipton Green tea to refresh myself. However, upon searching, I found that there was only gold peak yea there. I am outraged because this is a drink that i personally enjoy regularly. Something needs to be done ! this drink is probably an american favorite and for this establishment to not have it is an outrage ! im so beyond upset and there needs to be something done.

I understand that wawa does not have 5 star food, but i spent $12 on a buffalo chicken cheese steak and mac and cheese with bacon and it was so bad i couldnt stand to tale a second bite. I just worked 12 hours and was starving. This is pathetic. I am not rich obviously if im eatinh dinner at wawa. The sandwich was cold and watery and did not have half the toppings i ordered and the bacon was burnt and cold and just thrown on top by a high school kid who could not have cared less. I need my money back.
employee service treatment with no repercussions
Store 252 at Richmond & Orthodox Street, Philadelphia 19137. I have never ever dealt with a Corporation who allows their employees to curse & harass their customers. The young girl employee told my daughter she is a black belt. That is a threat kn her person. The only thing these 2 employees got was a reprimand plus the one who cursed in front of the manager must leave the floor when we walk in. Now, the other night, May 24, 2017, at about 10:30pm the female employee had her friends fist bang my door to fight my daughter. Why? Because we reported her to corporate. After the same 2 employees clocked out of work, they met up with these people across from our home harassing us while in full uniform. Which was caught on tapw. Police were called and a report was taken on the incident. We, my husband, myself and my daughter have contacted WaWa corporate about this new incident. The 2 employees still have their jobs. It was disclosed to a mutual friend that they are after our daughter 28 years old and a mother of 2 young children. She works 7:30am to 3:30pm. Has to provide for her children. This is a nejghborhood WaWa. When will something be done? Do we have to look over our shoulder? Will my daughter id household continue to be harassed by these employees? Will I get a phone call from the hospital about my daughter? J have this gone viral on social media. Next step will be local media and then a bews station. This has to end.
customer service
The customer service at the registers are terrible! Employees are very rude and talk bad about the customers infront of other customers. I have witnessed this many times with 2 ladies at the register. An older lady with short dirty blonde hair is the one who always is talking about the customers. It's sad how people are. I am not coming back to this wawa.
store cleanliness (coffee area)
First, I love my Wawa coffee! However, my visit to Wawa Store #595 this morning was surprising. After my normal preparation of coffee I reached for a lid and was completely taken aback.
I've attached pics (zoom in) of what I encountered. I believe my height allowed me to notice. The white coffee lids were filthy and the rack they were stored on. I realize this is not normal but will have me investigating from now on!

My girlfriend and I ordered a couple of hot subs. I ordered a Philly cheese steak with onions, spinch, cheese sauce, sweet peppers and grated Parmesan. There was hardly any onions and the sandwich was cold. When the employee put the condiments on. They did not open up the bread. They just kind of placed them on top. So when I tried to eat it everything just fell off. My girlfriend ordered a 6" custom cheese steak. With cheddar, tomatoes, spinch, light mayo, mustard grated Parmesan, salt and pepper. Her sandwich was also cold. They put cheese sauce instead of cheddar. No parmesan cheese.

I am a 59 year old single woman who is raising my autistic grandson and I have been going to this wawa and usually get great service however today was terrible I walked out the store I usually go in one time a week to get a roll of quarters to do my grandsons laundry and today the cashier called on her headset to the manager to get a roll for me she ignored the cashier totally there was a young man who tried to help me by going to the manager who then looked at me put her hands up in the air and rolled her eyes and completely ignored me while talking to him. I stood in the store at least 15 to 20 minutes waiting finally i was walking out the first cashier apologized to me I asked the managers name she stated it was Courtney this was the worst customer service ever and I worked retail someone needs to be told n to learn you don't treat customers like this

specialty drinks
I was in the Aston Wawa (Pennell Rd) at about 9:30 pm. I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie at 9:27 pm. There was a man behind the counter separating pretzels. The manager was at the end of the deli talking to an employee the whole time I was there. After waiting 10 minutes the woman who was making sandwiches ran over, printed up my drink order and started making it. I got my small strawberry banana smoothie after 15 minutes (9:42) and I was the only customer in the store. The woman who made my drink apologized for the wait, but I didn't answer. I felt badly right away because it wasn't her fault. There were 3 other people who could have helped me or spoken to me to tell why I had to wait so long. I would not have written this if it had been the first time. The service and work is very inequitable there. It seems that 30% of the employees do 100% of the work.
You can, like, order a "Smoothie"...in Mississippi? I'm impressed. The place is starting to come out of the stone age. Can coloreds get them?
italian hoagie
Hi there, I was at the wawa on north point road this past sunday (mothers day) my daughters and I stopped in after the carnival to grab a bite to eat. It was a little after 7 pm. We ordered 3 hoagies, grabbed snacks and drinks and headed home. We sat down to eat. The second bite I took of my italian coldcut hoagie I felt something weird in my mouth. I pulled it out and it was a hair that was like tied in a circle and had lint all over it. I do have a picture. I don't know how something like that could end up in a sandwich. I then threw all of our sandwiches away and ordered dominos. From now on I will avoid going to wawa unless i need gas and its the only place around. The manager needs to get their store in order. Filthy.

On may 16, 2017 i was purchasing gas at the wawa located at Crown Point rd. and delaware street i was paying with a FIVE dollar and ONE dollar bill and four QUARTERS.the attendent would not accept the quarters.He said corperate said they don't accept coins at the pump anymore.I am filing a complaint with cosumer affairs, it is illegal not to accept coins at the pump.the WAWA store number is 480.Phone-[protected] at crown point and delaware st West deptford, nj.
quality of italian hoagie
I just finished eating the worst quality hoagie from Wawa I ever had and I buy them all the time. This sandwich was purchased at the Wawa on West Avenue in Ocean City, New Jersey. My deli order number was 555 and the time was 1:42 pm. The sandwich had very little meat and other side items as compared to other Wawa Italian hoagies ordered the same way. I try to avoid this particular Wawa store because it has a very unfriendly atmosphere and I attribute that to the manager of the store who has a real sour attitude. It seems like there are different associates there all the time and I often hear them complaining about how rude he is to his associates. That negativity has taken over that store to the point where the quality of handmade products now sufffer. They just can't please the manager so they just stop caring until they find another job and leave.

I work for a Wawa a distribution center right across the street from a Wawa gas/service station. Every time I order a certain sandwich or order something else, they never have that product. As well the customer service representative fails provide any additional alternatives to satisfy the transaction that was already paid for. On a side note please look at your receipts when purchasing beverages that are sale/promotion. Their system usually doesn't acknowledge the discount and you will pay full price for these items without knowing.

At wawa store #019 collingdale, as a vender to the store, the general manager was very disrespectful to the delivery driver. He wants a certain protocal to be followed, which is completely fine. But for the first time you want it happen, you shouldn't be raising your voice and talking in a disrespectful manner to people that are helping you. Every other time we've delivered to the store, he hasn't had a problem, but he wants to cause as issue for no reason when you're respectful and polite to them.
horrible employee
Chris Stiteler of the Lafayette Hill Wawa works the overnight shift. I am a regular there. He demonstrates awful leadership qualities at the store. Consistently can be seen smoking marijuana outside the store. Gets mouthy with some customers. I don't know if they are his friends but he comes off very loud and rude behind the counter. Have seen him not charge certain customers for cigarettes. Have also seen him not charge certain customers for food. Chris once told the whole bar in Pizza Time that he "always steals ###" from Wawa. I have lived in LH for three years now and will go to Roxborough Wawa to avoid him. Wawa should be embarrassed they hired him. That store in LH is a joke
