Wells Fargo mortgage lender placed insurance premium

We are complaining horrific mortgage LENDER PLACED INSURANCE PREMIUM RIP OFF by American Servicing Company, American Security Insurance company, & Assurant Specialty Property. (American Servicing Company is A WELLS FARGO)

1.Exorbitant 800 – 900% Lender placed insurance premium without any notice. We provided Home owner’s insurance policy covering from Aug 2006, so there was about 1 month and 2 weeks of lapse which they claimed they notified us to cover from June 2006 which we never received and we demanded them to provide the proof of such notice but they failed to provide.
2.Excessive 800 - 900% gauging – if it is not illegal, it is willful exploitation. For mere 1 month 2 weeks short lapse, they charged insurance premium whopping $1568.52 ($1078 + $490.90), prorated abut $8000 yearly for DWELLING ONLY without any liabilities for COVERAGE AMOUNT $750, 000 while comparable industry average Dwelling only premium for that coverage is about $1200 YEAR.
3.Unilateral lender placement charge –BETRAYAL OF CUSTOMER’S TRUST. They unilaterally insured at the highest gauging amount of premium THRU THEIR OWN INSURANCE COMPANY WITHOUT CUSTOMER’S CONSENT. They betrayed customer’s trust to profiting themselves, which should be breach of fiduciary duty. This self-dealing insurance premium rip off is directly hurting consumer and should be stopped. When we complained, ASC replied they sent notice to us on July 17, 2006 which we never received and we demanded proof of notice they delivered to us but they refused it and failed to prove they gave us notice.
4.Unilateral deduction from Mortgage payment and started to charge late fee. Despite we paid full amount of monthly mortgage payments every month in time without any skip, ASC took the gauging insurance premium away from our mortgage payment unilaterally and did not applied our payments to monthly mortgage payment and started to charge late fee. THIS WILFULL EXPLOITATION IS HURTING CONSUMER AND MUST BE STOPPED. Despite of our complaints in the past a year to correct it, they are keep charging late fee and harassing to foreclose. THIS MUST BE STOPPED. PLEASE HELP TO PROTECT THE CONSUMERS. THIS IS WILFULL AND DELIBERATE EXPLOITATION BY GAUGING INSURANCE PREMIUM.
5.Retroactive insurance premium charge should be stopped – if not illegal it is wilful exploitation. OUR INSURANCE POLICY COVERAGE DATE WAS AUGUST 2006. ASC'S LENDER PLACEMENT INSURANCE BINDING AND NOTICE DATE WAS OCTOBER 2, 2006. NONTHELESS, ASC CHARGED RETROACTIVELY FROM JUNE 2006
6.ASC confessed it was their error not able to notify to us as ASC audit team discovered later there is no hazard insurance on our mortgage after they purchased the loan from Ohio Savings bank, this facts were confirmed by ASC employees “Miss SHANE, and Miss ALICIA both working in Frederick, MD office.
7.Despite of all above, not only there was no fire on my house during the lapse period but also WE NEVER MAKE ANY ERROR ON OUR SIDE for that short lapse, in fact it was their error as they confessed. Therefore it is very natural to grant courtesy and grace period for that short lapse, but ASC refused which proves that their practices are WILFULL EXPLOITATION, TRAP, AND PREDATORY TO HARM CONSUMER to profit themselves.

We are very very frustrated as they continue to refuse to correct it for the past year and giving us painful ordeal.

Please kindly help us let them stop this kind of ASC/Wells Fargo Bank's willful and exploitative practices as I believe this is their pattern of consumer exploitation not only us but others as well.

Sincerely yours,

Hy & Rosemaire Cho

I ma in the same boat; after a six-week lapse in coverage; Wells went ahead & retroactively charged us an astounding $675.00 (our annual policy which includes personal coverage as well is $1191.00. I spoke with 3 people at Wells including a supervisor and a manager and told them I will refi this note elsewhere unless they waive or reduce this preposterous charge. I have never heard of anyone retroactively charging for insurance gaps, and I will be taking them to court, as the amount is totally unjustified & abusive. Wells Fargo will also lose us as a customer for the remainder of our lives. They simply do not care that these myopic decisions affect their bottom line.

This bank stole over $800.00 of my money right out of my account!!! They claim that because my step son's account got overdrawn that they can simply reach into my account and get the money. My step son is an adult and I have no influence on him or access to his account. They claimed that they can do this because I had my wife in my account and my wife had...

Wells Fargo online security

Until today I'd been with Wells Fargo for 16 years. I'm now going to another bank. Wells Fargo has terrible online security. A scammer used my social security number to hijack my account online. Despite not having my PIN and not having the answer to my personal security question, Wells Fargo allowed them to change the address and phone number on my account and to open a new savings account in my name. My statements were heading to another state! Wells Fargo didn't notify me of the address change and allowed them access to my account with nothing but my social security number.

This is so wrong. Now I have to sort out the mess and Wells Fargo is proving inept in helping me do it. Their fraud department was supposed to call me back and never did. When I called them I was placed on hold for 30 minutes and then they hung up on me.

Don't bank with Wells Fargo if you want your money safe. It won't be because any scammer can go online and hijack your account with very little information.

Wells Fargo inappropriate banking practices

On Wed. 3 September I drove 60 miles from Fort Sumner New Mexico to Clovis New Mexico to deposit my bi-weekly salary into my checking account. I deposited two money orders from Wal Mart; one for $700, the other for $500. I was aware at the time of deposit that a check had been honored 24 hours previously resulting in a negative balance in my account.

Upon checking my account on the computer Thursday morning, the on-line bank statement showed a positive balance of about $150, the $1200 deposit was pending and the $700 money order was on hold until 08 September.

When I accessed my account today, Saturday 06 September, the on-line bank statement showed a negative balance of about $149, and both the $700 and $400 money orders were on hold until 11 September. I checked the reason for the hold, and there was annotation of irregular deposits to my account.

I called the phone bank and spoke to a â?Michaelâ? and shared my displeasure about all of my funds being placed on hold and my puzzlement as to what irregular deposits were being questioned. He quoted the bank policy; I told him I know their policy, but why both money orders, and what irregularities? He responded that the bank needed to verify the origins of the money orders; I replied they were from Wal Mart and I use Wal Mart money orders often to deposit money into my account. I questioned, what was so different this time? He again began quoting bank policy. I thank him for his time and told him of my plans to file complaints to Wells Fargo and the New Mexico State Attorney General.

I went for a drive and cooled down and decided not to file a complaint, until I logged onto my computer upon returning home to see that the reason for the holds had been changed to â?repeated overdrafts in past six monthsâ?. Upon checking my account history, I decided that I would complain.

First of all, if anyone wishes to examine my account, a person could set their watch my deposits. I get paid every two weeks, on Wednesday and the number of times I do not deposit my salary every Wednesday evening can be counted on one hand, minus the thumb; there are NO irregularities in my deposits. I do have 2 or 3 utility bills that are automatically withdrawn from my account within the first 2 weeks of every month, without fail; again no irregularities. If anyone examines my debits, they would conclude I own stock in Wal Mart, have a car payment, a home mortgage and also pay rent on a house where I work out of town; again no irregularities.

As for overdrafts, the last overdraft I incurred was in June of 08 and since I am a Doctoral Student I do run into financial problems sometimes, such as the one I had in March of 08, I did have several overdrafts.

However, I believe if anyone were to look closer at my over drafts in March as well as the one a few days ago, there appears to be a banking practice that I do question. The person who makes these decisions is aware of my banking patterns; deposits and debits. They are aware I am sure that if a hold is placed on my account during the first part of the month, I will incur several overdrafts because I have 2 or 3 utility bills that are automatically paid out of my account, resulting in several overdraft fees and extending the account holds, which then results in more overdraft fees because I do have a mortgage and rent and other utilities that I pay towards the middle and end of the month. So yes, I find it hard to believe that the person who makes these decisions is not aware of the commutative affect of holds when some bills are automatically presented for payment. I can only deduce, assume and therefore conclude that the reason that someone places a hold on my account during the first two weeks of the month is to increase the income of the bank through overdraft fees, resulting in greater financial hardship and psychological stress for me. In this case Wells Fargo could not decide if the reason for the hold was irregularities of deposits or persistent overdrafts (two since June).

What do I want? I would be satisfied if debits that occur automatically would be honored during financial holds without overdraft fees and the reasons for the holds are realistic and honest. If this practice is occurring with the many patrons of Well Fargo, I can only image amount of money the bank gains through this practice.

I have lost nearly $10, 000 in attempted deposits since 2006. This month alone we mailed two deposits in Wells Fargo pre-printed envelopes and one by Fedex and not any of the deposits have been posted. The Fedex deposit of $900 was signed for but the money never deposited. The first $500 and $280 deposits also failed to be placed in our account. This bank account belongs to a group that feeds the hungry.
Last year we lost a $4, 000 donation and a $2, 000 donation. We had the account since 1988 and had no problems until 2006 when we moved our office to New Mexico. We liked the bank in part because we are a global organization and international banking is important. This is now a regular problem and we are moving to a new bank.

Change banks. Wells Fargo is an awful bank. The freedom to choose is what American capitalism is all about. Wells Fargo mismanaged my business account for two years. They changed the rules on my commercial loan, threatening foreclosure of my inventory and receivables even though my payments were on time and I was in complete compliance of the loan agreement. I changed banks and am thankful that I ended the hidded fees that Wells Fargo was assessing me (over $30, 000 in 9 months beyond interest).

Here is some food for thought and a good reason to think that Wells Fargo Auto is a crock of ###. They should be investigated and be shut down as a lending facility for lack of competence or anybody that even gives a ### or has a god damn clue. People cant even do there jobs and i'm left and stuck fixing peoples ignorant mistakes. I got better things to do...

Wells Fargo fraud and scam

I have had the same on going issue with wells fargo auto finance company for about a year now, I have cried and I regret ever choosing wells fargo to finance my vehicle. they have repeatedly added there auto insurance from balboa insurance with out any kind of cancellation notice from my insurer or even from me, there response has been they had not received any new documents so therefore it is added automatically and it is added to my original monthly payment. The first time this happen I submitted the initial dec. page and just assumed as long as i payed my insurance i was fine no reason to worry. WRONG!

2 MONTHS LATER i received my statement ind it showed and extra $125x2=$250.00 that was showing due and 2 months of late fees for not making my entire monthly payment in full, now mind you my payments were $260.00 per month but with the automatic insurance added on with out my knowledge my payments were now $385.00 and they had reported that I had been late to the credit bureaus. Oh and i never received an insurance form showing my coverage, limits or any other info other than the extra charge on my car loan statement and when they do finally receive my proof then they say it will take about 6 weeks to clear up but in the meanwhile they still tack on the late charges and report that only partial payment was made. this cant be legal and how can they get away with charging for insurance they you never see a policy to.

To this day the dings that have been cause by there shady practices are still on my credit there response is that i must dispute them through there dispute department and because if they admit that a mistake has been made over and over again and not just with me but with many others then that would hold them liable for a lot of pain, suffering and the anguish of how little people really do get taken advantage of by the big corporations like wells fargo who employ a legal team and here we are trying to get someone to help us to have a louder voice then theirs... I WANT THEM TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HOW AND WHEN THIS WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF AND WHAT IT WILL COST!

Wells Fargo doesn't have the decency to call

I recently overdrafted my account which happens. I lost trakc of which card I had used for a business expense. Well I put the money plus more into the account once I could. Wells Fargo decided to cancel my bank card. Which isn;t my complaint. My complaint is that they cancelled my card without motifying me. So I am on another business trip knowing I had enough funds to cover my lodging costs but my bank card is declined. This is an embarrassing situation but is even more embarrassing when it is one of your companies hotels. This is the second time they have cancelled my card without notifying me. The first time was due to fraudulent charges on my bank card. Which I believe is a good reason for canceling a card. Once again my complaint is that they didn't notify me. This left me stranded at a gas station. I called their customer service expecting an apology for this inconvenience but alls I received was rudeness. They took no responsibility for the discomfort they caused me. I guess since I accidentally overdrafted my account that makes me a less than worthy customer.

Wells Fargo unethical company

Imagine my surprise when I received a letter stating that you have been working with us for some time to resolve our financial problems.

I sit here looking at our last statement -- $109 due by 8/15/05. I paid 40.00 on 7/28/08, $60 on 8/26, $9.00 on 9/4/08 using the bill pay service offered by Wells Fargo bank. Wow due 8/15 – paid by 9/4/08 – we are quite the deadbeats.

I just went on line (Wells Fargo Financial) and paid another $109 since apparently Wells Fargo needs the money so badly.

I’ve never dealt with such an unethical group of financiers in my life.

They fooled me into a loan where I paid $250/month in interest, while only paying $50 towards the principal. They told me the high interest rate, but how they calculate it, and/or heavily front-load it LEGALLY, is beyond me. Who in their right mind, knowing full well the situation, is gonna pay $250/month in interest? I have gangster friends who charge waaaaay less. They totally took advantage of a desperate, unexperienced young person with the intention of owning them. They constantly offered more money, as if I were ###ed, and still hadn't figured out their hustle. If I ever get a terminal illness, I am going to burn down every wells fargo within 100 miles.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS HIGHLY UNETHICAL COMPANY, THEY ARE A JOKE!

wellsfargo is the worst bank to deal with close your accounts with them they nickle dime your savings accounts, for their employee parties, yes they party off your over draft fees. i spoke with an employee who use to work there, the are investor's hiding behind a lot of these bad loans, the ceo of wellsfargo told naca bruce marks to kiss his'''''''''''''' when mr marks ask him to help all the homeowners with bad mortgages to help these people keep their homes. the bible say beware those that are standing, beware you will fall. wellsfargo had the nerve to take some of the bail out money and they will not help with these bad loans they are hiding behind many of them an they don't care. wellsfargo employees
better beware when you work for satan you will soon be fired. one wellsfargo employee says that they are strong nothings going to happen to us. that's what they just about said about the titanic before it sank, and never came back up. downey savings all those banks that have cheated many people out of their homes are closing down, wellsfargo is on it's way out soon, take you money out from them, i hope any employee of wellsfargo read this, remember one thing you reap what you sow. and wellsfargo deserve what they will receive to be closed down for good. also they have sent many american jobs overseas to india

Wells Fargo scam and cheating

It has now been over 6 years since Wells Fargo Bank illegally accepted, cashed and released almost $1 million of stolen check funds, payable solely to 'The Madden Company', but stolen, then signed/endorsed by SAVIN Corporation, who is owned by RICOH-Japan. If you or I had stolen and cashed these 7 large checks, with a handwritten deposit endorsement, WE WOULD BE IN JAIL, but International Corporate executives, like Jim Ivy, ex-CEO of RICOH-USA and SAVIN, has not yet been charged.

This is ironic, considering Mr. Ivy is already incarcerated, having been convicted of sexually assaulting a minor, under the age of 13, while in charge of these large office equipment companies in the USA. Please help us, as we have lost faith in our federal government to do anything, having passed the buck to other agencies, until there are no more agencies to file reports/complaints with.

Visit www.ThisIsJustice.com to see our actual evidence, including a copy of a check for over $200, 000.00, which was one of seven checks stolen and then illegally cashed by Wells Fargo Bank.

Thanks very much.

Wells Fargo terrible everything

This complaint comes on the heals of my wife being fired by this company not once but twice. This company has had an issue with my wife working for them since she came down with the illness/disability of epilepsy. They have done things such as not grant her time off when she had an attack of seizures. They have told her on many occasions that they can't work with her illness. They did not comply with doctors orders in regards to her schedule, and many other things that would make it easy for her to do her job, such as frequent short breaks away from the computer screen. This affected my wife's performance allowing them to dig up a reason to get rid of her. If you bank with this company understand that you are not only supporting this type of behavior but you are saying that you are ok with this happening. Someone who has a disability being treated as my wife was is no excuse for what they did. Wells Fargo has a history of not complying with the law and they have done it again in the case of my wife. My hope is that people who read this complaint will understand what this does to someone with this illness and the stress that they incur will cause them to potentially have more and more seizures due to the fact that they are placed under stress and can't go through with their daily lives.

We are seeking legal action against Wells Fargo for their illegal behavior.

Wells Fargo representative arrogantly insisted there was no problem when the bank's automated phone number repeatedly sent me to the wrong information. It was a strange situation that was made worse by Brian's tone of voice that there was no problem. I finally decided to get help at another time. It would be great if Wells Fargo would listen to complaints and then investigate to determine if there IS a bad employee on their phones. Especially in this economic climate, it could cost them a lot if they don't. Oh well, not my problem.

Wells Fargo fraudulent fees

Wells Fargo Auto Finance is charging me exhorbitant fee's for excessive wear and tear that is not evident on my returned vehicle. I think they systematically do this to rip off clients who have leased vehicles. I am thinking of a class action suite against the company. Anyone else have unfair end of lease fee's or excessive wear and tear fee's?

I have a 2006 mini van (Toyota sienna) and will return next week in Phoenix location. I read all of these messages above and called Wells Fargo Auto lease department and asked for the leased car return policy. What they told me is that any scratches or dent bigger than 1 inch, they will charge. I did check my car and found some small scratches and will have them fixed before returning the car next week. I will let you know if there will be extra charged in few weeks. Another concern is the tires. In case of the extra charge, I will have the two front tires replaced before returning as well. Hope there is no more headache after. I would not lease car anymore since it is just not right for Wells Fargo to charge so much after the car returned. Again, I am with you all for the discussion.

Hey everyone just a little update to my first complaint on the top of this page... So after going back and forth with Wells Fargos crazy fees of $7, 000 I did something just as crazy... I spent $20 and joined PrePaid Legal... I know... I know... I know... The one that you always hear about but say "Yeah Right" not likely... Listen to this... I told them what happened and they said no problem, "We will write a demand letter for you" ... soon as they did this and sent it out a got a phone call from wells fargo leasing department stating they have checked over the fees again and adjusted my account to $2000.00 ... LOL... Wow! that was fast. So I could have fussed a little more but was so happy to have saved $5, 000 I said great lets do it.

Recap.
Wells Fargo sent bill to me for $7k
went back and forth with leasing department for a few weeks
hired Prepaid legal (no contract) $20 plus $10 start up fee
wells fargo called and "Adjusted" account $5k
paid off and its a done deal.

Please call if you have any questions and cancel all business with this Monster of a Bank...

Same here. I just returned a honda pilot. Everything was under excellent condition. The transport condition report from the car pickup person states no damage at all, and I got photos and witness for the car. But, in the end, wells fargo is charging me $2700. It's crazy! They told me once I signed the contract, then i should pay the amount they figured out. All the proof I got is useless.

I think we should file a legal action against this bank!

Hello, yes I have just recently returned my leased vehicle back to wells fargo return center. A month goes by and i received a bill for nearly $7, 000. A $1000.00 in parts and the rest for labor. I cannot believe this considering they tried to sell me the vehicle for $8, 000. It had a little wear and tear but nothing major. I cant believe they are saying there was this much damage considering i could have got a complete paint job for around $1000. Please contact me if you have found anything out regarding this issue.

I dont know what to do,

Wells Fargo escrow screw-up

I should have written this letter earlier but I have been in and out of the hospital with some medical issues and was unable to get back to this before now.

Last October my wife and I bought a house in Tacoma Washington for our son, and got our mortgage financing through Wells Fargo, account number [protected]. As we had some unpleasant experiences on a previous mortgage when Wells Fargo failed to pay the insurance from our escrow funds, we requested that this mortgage be non-escrowed and it was approved. We closed on 24-October-2007.

In July I received the bill for the first half of the 2008 property taxes, which were already delinquent, costing me $142.82 in interest and penalties. I called the Pierce County Budget and Finance Department in Tacoma to find out why I had not received the notice before the taxes were due, and I was told that the tax bill had been requested in Feb-08 by Americas Servicing Company. When I contacted them (July 23, 2008) they informed me their parent company was Wells Fargo, and that they service the escrow accounts for Wells Fargo mortgages. I asked why they had requested the tax bills for my account as I did not have an escrow, and they referred me back to Wells Fargo’s tax department, where I spoke with a woman named Susan. She indicated that since I had no escrow account that neither Wells Fargo nor Americas Servicing Company had requested this info, despite what I had been told by the Pierce County Budget and Finance Department. I asked to speak to her supervisor and after ~10 minutes on hold I was connected to Rosemary Fausito, who said they could do nothing. I asked to speak to her supervisor, she indicated her supervisor, Karen Valentich, was out but would return my call. To date, more than 2 months later, I have not received the call.

My position is I was forced to pay the penalties and interest on my tax bill for no other reason than I had not received it in time, due to the meddling by Wells Fargo’s company Americas Servicing Company, which they had no right to do. There is no escrow account so Americas Servicing Company should not have even known about my mortgage, yet they had the tax bill sent to them instead of to me. Therefore Wells Fargo should be responsible for the $142.82.

I tried to resolve this by talking with employees of both Americas Servicing Company and Wells Fargo, and got nothing but denials of what had happened and expectations for return calls which never happened.

I hereby demand Wells Fargo to repay me for these fees which were imposed through no fault of mine, but because of Wells Fargo.

Regards,

James Thomas Sokola, Jr.

I too have been victimized by Wachovia's devious method of posting the largest amount before the smaller transaction amount. Wachovia's excuse is always that the larger transaction amount could be your mortgage or car payment and the importance of those payments justify this backwards policy. In reality we all know the reason for this policy. It is to...

Wells Fargo predatory banking practice

A review of my online statements for my checking account with Wachovia Bank shows Predatory banking practices by Wachovia.

On August 15th, 2008 my account balance was $2, 841.52. In my account statement Wachovia banking fee of $280.00 was taking out of my account. Wachovia claims that the $280.00 fee was because my account was negative. However, as of August 18th, 2008 my account has a positive balance.

Wachovia states that the $280.00 fees were deducted because the items that were posted to my account on August 19th, were taking out of my available balance on the date of transaction causing 10 transaction after to be over drown.

Wachovia then deducted an additional $175.00 (dated August 19th, 2008) for the funds that were previously taken out of my account and reduced my available balance on the date of transaction; stating that the date the transactions were posted to my account my account was negative.

How can the amount that was ALREADY deducted from my available balance on August 17th and 18th, (Positive balance) and posted on August 19th be overdraft/unavailable? This is PREDATORY banking practices.

I have since review my account history and found this to be common PREDATORY banking practice of Wachovia Bank.

I asked the State District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and banking Enforcement and Investigation Bureau to investigate Wachovia PREDATORY banking practices. They refer me to the Office of the Controller of the Currency, Customer Assistance Group, 1301 McKinney Street, Suite 3450, Houston, TX 77010, telephone [protected], fax [protected] for assistance.

I would recommend that everyone send a letter and fax to the office of the controller of the Currency reporting the Wachovia PREDATORY banking practices.

Wachovia took funds out of my account when I closed the account weeks before hand. They have tried to charge me for NSF charges that are bogus and have even hired a law firm to come after me for money that isn't owed to them. I am not the first person that I have heard of that they are trying to do this to. The law firm they hired is called Sessoms & Rogers out of Durham, NC.

7 year. Tens of thousands of dollars. Totally fed up. The last straw came this week. Business has been improving, I think we will end up surviving this mess if Wachovia doesn't end up destroying us first. The biggest challenge has been that we never took a line of credit to cover cash flow. We make product, run deliveries, then have to wait up to 3 weeks to get paid by some of our companies. But here's where this bank comes in: when I get the checks in THEY HOLD THE FREAKIN CHECKS UP TO ANOTHER WEEK before I can use the funds to pay bills and my contractors! I have had a couple branch mgrs who would override the holds but mysteriously all of them have been let go...likely for having ETHICS. That's not the worst of it. Two things: first, I could see the holds if we had returned checks written to us but in 7 years we've never had one single return check. Never. So why the holds? Because we've been overdrawn in the last year. Why have we been overdrawn? BECAUSE THESE ###S PUT WEEK¡LONG HOLDS ON OUR MONEY AND WE HAVE BILLS TO PAY! Then the third angle of this picture. When you make a deposit it can show up next day as hard posted and then the next day be reversed to a HOLD for a WEEK! So it posted, you thought you had the money in there, so you pay bills, the deposit is reversed and held, now things are bouncing and rolling up fees. This infuriates me. We are trying to survive this economic disaster Oby caused and now our own BANK is trying to suck off us! So then the piece de resistance? This all happened this week, the day before Thanksgiving. I found it when I went to pull MY pay to do my holiday meal shopping after having paid all my bills, as any good biz owner would do, only to find my account OD by $300 with another $75 in fees to hit last night PLUS the deposit remainder that they are holding which is my pay for the week. Total appx $600 lost. I called one branch because most mgrs were off, and was told only the branch where we deposited could lift the hold. So I called the Signal Hill Statesville NC branch and spoke with I believe his name was Brian (hard to keep track with all the people they've fired) and this cold-hearted fool totally refused to release the hold because his job would be on the line if the check was not paid, never mind that in 7 years we've not had one return check written US. So, no money for my pay this week AND we're out all those fees. Thanks for a Happy Thanksgiving this week because of the TURKEY at the Signal Hill branch. One footnote I do need to make is that Donna at the branch was a star for at least trying to reason with this fool but even she couldn't a pulse in this cold-hearted twit. Thanks Donna for trying. Moral of the story? From talking to several other fellow biz people trying to survive who had been with Wachocia, GO TO ONE OF THE SMALL LOCAL BANKS. They appreciate you. They don't constantly change the rules to make fees off people and to suit their own bottom line. I, for one am doing just that next week. Maybe if enough people wise up and jump ship on them they will get the message. Especially if they see their bottom line affected.

Hi,

I was Wachovia bank customer for about 3 years now. One day a customer representative called me to explain the improvements at Wachovia bank. I asked him to send me the documents and said I will go through them at free time, he agreed and we disconnected the phone. 2 weeks late I get a letter from Wachovia bank stating that the credit card application has been rejected.

I called Wachovia bank and asked them why did they apply for a credit card with out my approval, they said it was a mistake and only thing they can do is remove the inquiry on my credit from the major credit bureau's... and no response from them... every time I call them, they say that they will send an email to representative who is handling the case, and she will get back to me..but still no response.

If this is the case how can we even trust banks...

My father has had an account with Wachovia (plus the many former names they've been under) for well over 30 years. He recently opened a checking account with them but his social security gets direct deposited into his savings. He usually doesn't keep any money in his checking account unless he has a bill to pay. Long story short, 2 companies presented "checks" to his account totaling about $450. Even though there was $0 in his account, Wachovia paid these UNAUTHORIED "checks" AND added the non-sufficient fund fees as a "Courtesy" to him. He expressly and repeatedly told Wachovia under no circumstances should any items be honored if there wasn't the funds in his account. Did Wachovia listen? No! Their "Courtesy" is costing my father about $500 that he doesn't have. Not only that they're making him investigate these unauthorized items. If/when he can pay this balance off, he'll be closing his accounts with Wachovia as they certainly don't value him as a customer. Guess he's not rich enough to be valued. Also, I put in a complaint with the PA Banking Dept. they told me they couldn't handle the complaint as Wachovia is a federal? bank. So I filed a complaint with the federal banking commission. We'll see what happens.

I recently just had Wachovia take $140 in overdraft fees when I had $250 in the bank for transactions clearing. When I called Wachovia they agreed that I had enough money in the bank but refuse to five me the fees back. I am closing my account with them and I advise you not to open an account with them. Very poor customer service and not customer friendly at all. I don't know who can afford to just give their money away. Maybe this is there own form of bailout. They will not be using my hard earned money for their bailout.

On or about 6/18/08 I requested online to have a CD account of mine closed and a check be mailed to me. I was told on line that I would have to call in on 6/20. I Did! I was told the account was closed and a check would be mailed to me

On 06/25/08, not having received the check, I called in again. I was told the check was mailed out on 06/20/08 and I should wait 8 to 10 days because the post office is not reliable.

On 06/28/08, not having received a check, I called in again. A person named David said the account was closed on 6/20/08 but could not tell when the check was mailed out. He was to call me 06/30/08 and let me know when the check was mailed. I asked him to leave a message if I was not there. He called when I was not home, but left no message.

Today, (06/30) I received the check and I find that the check was not made out until 6/26 and was mailed out on 06/27. This was an account that held $59, 752.56

I want interest for 06/20/08 to 06/27/08.

I am someone who moves between countries a bit and I was in new york for 9 months. I setup an account with wachovia as the bank was near to where I was staying. My trouble began when I moved to canada and noticed the high fee I was paying on withdrawals.

I asked to change my account type to reduce this costs but was told there was no way. I then asked could I setup a wire transfer, but I was told I could only set up international transfers at the branch.

I decided at that point to leave wachovia as I was paying hundreds in fees every month and had no other way to get to my money. I setup a TD account in the USA and thought my troubles would be finished. When I logged on to wachovia to transfer the money domestically to TD it asked me some security questions which I had no idea about. They (I was told by a rep) has been pulled from public records, and as I have no real US history, I don't now where they got them from. I called wachovia to tell them the situation and they told me again that I need to go to a bank. Now I am back at square 1, stuck paying fees to wachovia, and receiving no help from them at all. Their stupid system does not work for people in my situation and I am literally left to pay the price for an incompetent bank.

DO NOT JOIN WACHOVIA UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO GO TO THE BRANCH TO DO ALMOST EVERYTHING.

I own a small business and we have a customer in Canada. This customer pays us by check, in US dollars, but from a Canadian bank. We have been depositing their checks in our Wachovia account for several years. Typically Wachovia has deposited these checks in a week or less. With our last check it took these crooks 8 weeks to deposit the check. How do you think they would react if someone help up their funds for 8 weeks? Kind of tough to run a business when my bank acts like a common thug with a gun to my head. Needless to say I am looking for a new bank. Wachovia is now part of Wells Fargo. Will it make a difference? I doubt it. I hope they rot in ***.

To whom it may concern,
I did make a schedule online with Wachovia for 9/22/10 of 2 payments, the reason I make 9/22 because I know I will be ready to pay that amount by 9/22. My husband is a server and he makes money every day. Wachovia pull that amount the day before which is 9/21, which is my fund wasn't ready for it. And they did charge overdrawn fee of $35.00. I think this is very unfair for us like low income family. Please help me out. I cannot afford an attorney to fight with them. Please let me know.
This is my copy of bank account,

Good Afternoon, At all costs get away from this bank. the bank will hold purchases and deduct the money from your account and then hold deposits and then double dip off your new deposited amounts to offset the stealing.. just look at your statements and online account activity.. you must capture 3 pieces of data to match data. ATM printout of daily transactions, online transactions, and then statement. Before the statement you must use the first two.. Its called the double hold bank scam. the either double dip from the deposit or they derail the account and repost the debit for NSF. This is illegal and they are changing the rules on how transactions are processed . debit is instant not a credit..

Wells Fargo unauthorized withdrawals

It has been almost three months since I realized that Wells Fargo Auto Finace has been taking unauthorized payments out of my checking account. I make my payments through a money gram system and when I looked at my bank statements and saw this you know I was upset. When they took payments out of my account of course they returned because the money was not in the account and at the same time I was making money gram payments. But in their system it looks as if I am behind almost 60 days when I am not. I call and talk to a million people who don't have a dam clue of what they are doing and they are no help at all and when I did speak to an supervisor he told me to fax the bank statements to him and they would fix the problem, that has been almost two dam weeks and they still have not done anything it is always some type of excuse with these people. The representatives are rude and disrespectful. I have seeked other measures by getting an attorney, because what they don't realize is that my credit is ruined because of them. Now they are threathening to come get the car an I encouraged them to do.

You need to go to your bank, and have them block and not allow ANY withdraws from you account to wells fargo. It is a good idea to not allow anyone to withdraw any bill from your account.Have the bank not allow any ACH transfers .If you don't they will continue to do this. If you do this, and they take money, your bank is responsible and can get it back.

Everyone will love this part. Here are the DIRECT phone numbers to the heads of Collections at Wells Fargo, along with their e-mail addresses.

It is better to write them so you have a record. e-mail is fine. These guys will try to play you, even worse than the collectors. But here they are, anyone dealing with Wells Fargo auto Finance have at them. Keep notes date time, as they do tape the calls, so any need for copies can be attained. they are required to keep them

When they try to run you in circles, report them to

These people can go after them. Don't accept any calls from 3rd party colectors for them . they are manipulating your account for bonus. Be aware of the rules of the Fair Credit reporting act. They cant call you at work for instance if you tell them not to. They have to give their names and id numbers. write them down.

Anyone who are getting colection calls, they are probably 3rd party. All you have to say is 'This is not a good time" . when they say " we are recording this call, say likewise( dont say you are recording the call, just say likewise, they will freak out.) some states alow you to record calls you make to them. Check your state law before you do.

But make sure you go to your make and stop allowing them to honor withdraws. Only pay wells Fargo with a written check or money order. Keep a copy for when they say you didnt make a payment. DONT talk to any collectors that are not from a 480 area code.

Have at them, and file complaints to the customer assistance of the treasury above . These wells fargo people are not honest, and they are most likely ripping you off, somewhere. watch your statement carefully, especially if they say you are late, or didnt make a payment. I urge everyone who has had issues with Wells Fargo auto finance to file complaints to the above address.

Wells Fargo fraud and scam

I called Wachovia to prevent fraud on my account and received no help from them, only a guarantee that they intended to honor the fraudulent charges (even reading a memo stating that Shopping Essentials was legitimate and that customer requests to prevent charges were to be ignored).

I received an email from a defrauding company Shopping Essentials, stating their intention to charge me a recurring charge. I was frightened, because they had my NAME and correct email address! I do NOT respond to unsolicited email. I do NOT click on any links. I delete all spam. I have never done business with Shopping Essentials, nor had I authorized any charges to them, but I do do much business on the internet. I am pretty savvy and do my best to avoid any internet fraud. I called Wachovia Bank to block charges from this company.

In the past, Wachovia's Fraud Department has demonstrated pretensions of being active, calling me in a panic when I have had $11 charges at my usual Publix, and when I have my regular, monthly appointment with my physical therapist, so I have had some misplaced sense that they might be sensitive to a report of fraud before the fact. Further research shows me that Wachovia has had class action suits against them for this sort of fraud, which makes me need to be extremely pro-active.

I called Wachovia to fend off this charge in advance. Instead, the first service rep read me a Wachovia Memo, telling me that they communicate with Shopping Essentials, and that I must have clicked on something on the internet which gave Shopping Essentials the right to use my account. They told me that Shopping Essentials is a legitimate company. And that Wachovia would honor all charges to Shopping Essentials unless I closed my card and opened a new card.

We all know that closing a credit card or bank account CAUSES BAD CREDIT and I have an 'excellent' rating right now. Further, I am about to renegotiate my mortgage -- which will require my present high credit rating.

I asked for a supervisor.

The supervisor, confirmed all the CSR had said. She instructed me (according the Wachovia memo) to call Shopping Essentials and cancel the fraudulent charges. She gave me a new telephone number (which wasn't open). And told me to respond to the email and try to cancel it from there (despite all my training and alertness to never respond to fraudulent email!).

She told me that I must get the account / card to which Shopping Essentials planned to charge me before Wachovia would do anything. This would require me to contact the company to ask them what account they planned to use to defraud me.

Everything she told me was against my training and protocol to prevent fraud, and seemed to encourage more fraud. But this was her instruction, handed down from Wachovia Corporate -- despite their prior experiences with Class Action suit won against them for what seems like similar problems.

Despite my reluctance to call the company or to click on any email, I felt I needed to follow her instructions, because I was powerless and it was clear that Wachovia's so-called fraud protection was useless. The supervisor made it clear that they would NOT protect me, that they would compromise my credit rating, and there was nothing I could do through them to protect myself. It also seemed that they were complicit in an arrangement with Shopping Essentials.

Cut off at the knees by Wachovia, (so much for their fraud department which seems to be a sham) I have contacted Shopping Essentials, with great trepidation. I clicked on their information wondering what other fraud was being spawned by my responding with legitimate information.

They had all sorts of information on me, but NOT my telephone number. I did cancel online. However, this does NOT feel legitimate. I fear the upspring of all sorts of possible internet fraud from now on. Where did they get this information? When I joined CostCo? When I bought from Sears? According to Shopping Essentials, the account they fraudulently opened in my name, is now closed. But how can I trust a company that perpetrates fraud in the first place? Who are they selling my information to? What can I do to protect myself in the future, now that I am compromised?

What internet sites should I now report to in order to protect my credit?

Wells Fargo I am being frauded

This company is a fraudulent scam, and needs to be shut down permanently! They just recently bumped up my monthly payment without my authorization by $100.00 per month, in addition they have been frauding my account from day 1, saying I havent made payments for certain time periods when I have ALL documentation right down to the cancelled check I wrote for the downpayment in my posession to date. They reposessed my 2006 vehicle last November 17th 2007 even tho I faxed them and spoke to a rep on the phone that I was in fact current on my payments. They now have tried to send out repo companies to take my vehicle stating they have an order for a "deceased person" as the owner for their reasoning in taking my vehicle. Back in Nov 07 they made me pay $2, 600 to get my vehicle out of repo altho I was in fact current then they refuse to fix my account saying to date im still behind. They are now claiming I have a bankruptcy to which I never had. Now they are sending me monthly statements with outragious amounts owed, saying I owe them a huge lump sum for collateral insurance which I never signed up for nor authorized with them, I have always had my own full coverage with a diff private insurance company. They're excessive unwarranted late fees are absurd as well. They refuse to correct anything on my account stating I still owe amounts to which I do not owe. And for them to bump up my monthly payments $100.00 without my authorization, well isnt that slightly illegal? This company is fraudulent and needs to be removed from the business/corporate society in totality asap! I am trying to find an attorney with the where with all to go up against these frauds and not chicken out becuz they are a big bank/company. I am going to get involved in every class action lawsuit I can against wells fargo auto finance and search for an attorney with gumption to sue the hell out of these frauds. Eventually we can all hope as consumers/victims of this company if we all band together we can put them out of business and in prison for good!

I purchased a car in 2000 thru Wells Fargo. I had gotten behind on payments late 2001. After negotiations with the "Collections Dept." I began mailing a payment of 400.00 every two weeks to the "Collection Agent for Wells Fargo" in Phoenix, Arizona. I was to make payments using money orders only. The account number I was instructed to reference on money order wasn't the same number as my original loan number. Prior to mailing payments I was asked to fax a copy of the money order to the "collection dept.". After 3 months and 2400.00, I had finally gotten caught up and current...I thought.

One week later, a Wells Fargo rep. contacted me at work to inform me they would be repossessing the car as payments were delinquent. She claimed I hadn't made a payment in more than 6 months. I explained to her that I was in fact caught up on my payments and told her she should speak to John in the Collections Dept. and I gave her his direct phone number.

The folling day, I received a call at work from the Wells Fargo. The lady told me that Wells Fargo did not have a collection dept. or agent working at the address where I mailed payments. She couldn't reach anybody at the phone number I had given her as it was a disconnected number. The loan number I had been referencing on my payments was also not a good number. They said I still owed them the 2400.00 along with late fees. None of the information I had or proof of payments was any good to them.

Long story short, I was forced to file Chapter 13 so I could keep my car from being repossessed. My bankruptcy attorney wasn't able to do anything about the "lost payments". I guess you might say, I GOT JACKED.

I agree... they are scammers... My boyfriend bought me a 2004 Ford Explorer Sporttrac that we purchased at a 15.9% APR, after 3 yrs... we were having financial difficulties and discovered that after 3 yrs we owed more than we purchased it for which set off flags... 15.9% and they changed it to approx 25% APR from go and I had no idea because he didn't tell me what the APR was until after the fact... We told them of the problem, yet they did nothing to fix the problem ... We tried to get an attorney and the dealership was more than willing to stand behind us 100% in court... However, we cannot afford to pay for an attorney and they got the truck and we were charged the difference between the price of the car and the sold price... we also suspect that they received our refund money from the warranty that was never used... They are scammers for sure... Would love an attorney to help...

Wells Fargo... what can I say? I have had my truck through Wells Fargo for 2 1/2 years and it has ALWAYS been due on the 30th of the month. Well, I got a call this month saying I am 5 days late.. It's the 15th! They for some reason decided to move my payment due date to the 10th of the month... without informing me about it... The girl that called was so rude and I was rude right back! They "sent" me notification.. yeah, RIGHT! So, I am with all of you on this! THEY SUCK!

Wells Fargo scam charges

Recently I attempted to get clarification on over draft fees charged to my account by Wachovia Bank. I got the same explanation from every person I spoke to. Apparently, if you have transactions already deducted from your available balance and due to post the next business day Wachovia can/will kick the transactions back to take money out for a HOLD transaction. This of course results in lining their pockets with all the insufficient funds fee for each transaction made before the HOLDing transaction was placed.

When I asked for full refund on the 4 NSF charges I was told that they did nothing wrong, but offered a refund on 20% (that's only $28 of $140). I just don't get it. I even wrote to Wachovia's correspondence department fighting these charges and the answer from them was that they did nothing wrong.

I asked the numerous customer service representatives why and how a transaction that is HOLDING can override the transactions already made and deducted from my account and due to post on the same day the HOLD was placed can cause all of these charges. I was never able to get a straight answer, on their system it showed that the charges were correct, but when I told them over and over again why then does THEIR online service show my transactions clearing then AFTER they've cleared the over draft fees totaling $140 show up. HMMM, no one can explain this.

So after all of this I get stuck paying them $175 in over draft fees and causes a snowball effect on my end because money I was counting on is being stolen by Wachiovia's bad business tactics to make money.

My latest and greatest problem I'm having with them is that they are honoring transactions made on an EXPIRED debit card. A card that was no longer valid on 06/30/08. Yet they posted a transaction made with this very card on 07/25/08, almost a month after the card expired. Oh, yes... it generates more overdraft fees for them.

I called the customer service line to ask if it is normal business practices to honor transactions made with EXPIRED cards and was not able to get a straight answer. I got a legal answer claiming if i authorized the transaction then it's possible to a transaction to be posted. I'm sorry, if the card is expired why would I authorize a transaction to made on it?

I recently had NSF Fees charged to my account and they could have been avoided, if they had placed them in another order in which they were deducted from my account, as there were Sufficient Funds in the account to cover the payments, all except one, but instead they deducted the payments in such a way as to insure that they would get the absolute maximum amount of NSF Fees that they could possibly get from my account... I asked them about it and was told that they usually charge accounts for the larger amounts first and then the others, which is a very POOR excuse for doing what they did in this case... I have complained about this to them, but it does NO GOOD! Supposedly they are suppose to HELP people with managing there Money and try to Save them also, but they sure do not show it here with what they did with me... They are only out to take your Money and nothing more, they are Thieves and something needs to be done about it... I have had other circumstances with them also involving similar problems with NSF Fees charged without any regards for Senior Citizens, as they get Paid only once per month and they seem to pick them out of all of the others and harass them with charges and multiple Fees, etc... I even had a Overdraft Protection with them and all of a sudden I now do not have it for NO Reason of my knowledge, they just canceled it and now I cannot get it again... so they charge me for the Full amount of NSF Fees...
Wachovia Bank, I have seen by others and myself, is a very BAD Bank to do business with, and I suggest that everyone remove themselves from it and Do Not have anything to do with them, as also I will be doing this, shortly from now...

On December 9, 2008 I attempted to withdrawl $70.00 from an atm. The atm did not give me any money because of insuffient funds. When I checked my Wachovia Bank account a withdrawal for Columbas Bank of $72.50 was deducted from my checking account on 12/09/2008 along with an NFS charge. I called Wachovia and explained to them that I never received the $70.00 from the atm. They enouraged me to fill out a Check Card Dispute Form and went ahead and reimbursed me for the $72.50 and the $35.00 NSF charge. On Jan. 6, 2009 I again noticed the same charge of $72.50 atm withdrawal. So I called Wachovia again and they said that they researched my dispute and found that there was no machine malfunction and that the transaction was completed. I called [protected] to ask them to research this again until my dispute was relsolved they referred me the the Columbus Bank where I used the atm on 12/09/2008. So I called Columbus Bank and they said that no money was missing and that I got my money. I had to explain to Columbus Bank that I know no money was missing from the ATM because I didn't get any money out of the ATM because of insuffient funds! Columbus Bank said that I would have to be reimbused for the $72.50 from Wachovia and that instead of filing a Check card Dispute file a Dispute for Fraud and that way they will get the video from the ATM and see that I didn't get any money. So AGAIN...I called [protected] and after an hour and explaining myself to more than four Wachovia representatives they finally put me on the phone with a man that simply said I was not getting my money back and I could not file a fraud dispute because there was no machine malfunction. My next step is to file a police report and try try again. It is not even about the money anymore...it about the lack of respect. No one will help me...so now I am going to have to take my lunch hour and go to Wachovia Bank to try and get my money back because of the principal of the matter. It shouldn't have to be this hard.
