Your whole organisation, from top to bottom
Yesterday I tried to send some money to myself because I'm traveling for a period of time. I gave you every detail required, correctly, you took my money, then I waited for you to send me the code. You offer a 3 minute service here to Cambodia. I waited much longer than three minutes because I'm not an unreasonable man, but then I got concerned that I had received no code, so I contacted your customer through the online chat thing you have. I spoke with a girl, I think her name was Erica, and I explained the situation. She told me something about an error with the computer system you guys use to transfer money to Cambodia. I believed her, because that's not out with the reams of possiblity. She assured me she'd try to get it fixed today, so I waited to hear back from you. I heard nothing. I wasn't sure what time your chat service closed at, so I didn't contact you again, I just waited for some feedback or a code to my mobile phone or my email address.
Flash forward 24 hours, 12 of which I spent sleeping rough on the streets of Phnom Penh, because I had no money, because you didn't send me the code as you'd promised. My phone died and I had no internet access. I slept on a street in Cambodia. I don't know if you have any idea how petrifying an experience that was, but it was harrowing.
I then manshed to find one of the few places that was opened today due to it being a public holiday here - Khmer New Year. Everywhere shuts. So I found this bar, asked if I could use their WiFi, and their electricity to charge my phone for free, and because they were decent people, they allowed this.
I then contacted your customer service department again today on the same chat service as yesterday to be given a different excuse as to why you failed to provide me with a code to collect the money I had sent to myself. This time I was told that I'd provided an incorrect phone number, which is untrue, so that proves one of your customer service agents was lying to me.
I asked him why you couldn't have sent the code to my email address instead of the phone number, but was given no sufficient answer to this question. I asked him many questions of that nature, all of which he ignored in a similar manner to the first question. He simply repeated the pre prepared phrases you guys teach thesr types of people to use. Anyway, he asked me for me phone number, I gave him the same phone number I gave him yesterday, and he was able to send me a code by email and by phone number.
The problems here are plentiful. The fact that I wasn't contacted by anyone to ask for the correct phone number, the fact I was lied to by both your customer service agents, the fact that you took my money and didn't provide the service you offered me, which is theft, in other words. If I go into a restaurant and order some food, pay for it, but they don't actually give it to me, that is theft. What your company did to me is analogous to that. He was able to provide me with a code by email this afternoon, so why couldn't he do the same yesterday? It's not even in the realms of being a reasonable excuse, and neither is the lie about a computer error.
The customer service agent today provided me with a transcript of the chat I had today, I asked him to.sebd me the one from yesterday, and I also received a phone call from someone at Wing, the local agent you use in Cambodia to hand out the money you steal from customers and don't provide the service you offer who told me that no branch of Wing in the country would be open today. I already knew that, because it's a national holiday here, pretty much like Christmas in the west.
I know if I brought this to a solicitor in the UK, I would win. If I brought it to the FCA, I would be awarded a considerable sum of money. Let's cut out the middle man and you make me a considerable offer to settle this thing immediately. Yout behaviour is blatantly egregious, so I will win a considerable sum of money. I'm not a greedy man, however, and would be willing to settle for a 5 figure sum for what I've suffered as a result of your actions. You stole money from me and made no attempt to rectify the situation. That is theft.
Desired outcome: I want a considerable sum of money for compensation for the trauma I've been through as a result of the action or failure to act by your company. [protected]@gmail.com

I was scammed and World Remit refused to send me any details of the receiver
I sent money to a bank (supposedly in Turkey) that was just a scam front and when I contacted World Remit, they refused to send me any details on who picked up the money and where it was received. Then, to add insult to injury, they cut me off from sending money or seeing my online records. The transactions took place in October and November of 2021.
The scam was not their fault, but their cooperation in assisting me to file fraud reports and notify police was at a MINUS 10 on a one to ten scale. I guess criminals take precedence over customers as they create business for World Remit.
I have all my receipts, but I am not about to make them available to the world. I have given enough information to the company in this posting that if they feel any guilt about not helping, they would be able to reach me.
Desired outcome: I would like full details of the receiver and all documentation presented to pick up funds as well as full access to my World Remit account.
refund
my transaction (id [protected]) was cancelled by worldremit although i provided all information correctly, but it has been 10 days, still they did not send me the refund, i tried to contact the customer service but they are not helpful. it's a scam company.
MoneyTransfer
I send a money transfer from my bank account to myself in Costa Rica after getting robbed. WorldRemit makes many claims about what a great company they are but i will tell you right now, do not do business with them. They are a poorly managed nightmare borderline scam.
First my transaction was not clear because on their website they were saying money ready for pick up but the app was saying the transfer was not made because my name was not correct that is just more BS my name was correct.
So then i was forced to call them because their website does not provide any information on cash pick up sites or companies. my first phone call to their "customer service" I was told that i could go to a bank in Costa Rica called Banco National. So I sent to that bank waited in line for 95 minutes only to be told that they do not know who WorldRemit is, and have never ever offered cash remittance services of any kind.
So i returned home and called World Remit again. This time i was told that their contract was with Teledollar and so i told her my location and asked where the closest Teledollar location would be she said she had no information about their locations in Costa Rica. Think about that. a link should be on their website but it is not. they have nothing. So again i paid a
Taxi to take me to a listed location in Coc Beach, closed over a year ago, then paid the taxi to take me to the next listed location and it didnt exist. So my taxi driver was bi lingual and he called Teledollar and the main teledollar office told him to call the closest location which was Liberia and, a person answered the phone but first told us they have no transaction number matching what we were providing then telling us that the Liberia Teledollar no longer exist and the closest location was Nicoya (72 kl away) or Tamarindo (1 hour and twenty minutes away). I then found out that for some reason Teledollar had closed almost all locations in Costa Rica and there are only 5 locations with 3 of the 5 in San Jose. I my complaint to World Remit i had to tell them this because they are clueless.
I tried to cancel my transfer but could not find a ways to do it on their website or app. So again i had to call and was informed that yes they could cancel it but the money was already transferred to Teledollar and they had no way to guarantee that it will be returned. I asked why and she said that it might be returned but wait two days. I then asked what is the next step for me if it is not returned to my account in tow days she said i need to wait 7 days. I asked why would you tell me two days if i have to wait 7? She could not answer that. So i asked for a manager and she said she would try to find one and after waiting another 10 minutes she said she would have one call me
A manager id call me but it was just a repeat of the same thing over and over again. He had no information on teledollar locations. did not know that most had closed, could not tell me where the closest one was, could not guarantee that it would be returned but was "hopeful" and could not explain why i was given the information about Banco National.
So my conclusion is that this is a really poorly run com[any that makes no effort to verify their cash remittance partners, has not clue how many locations there are or where they are, makes no effort to include a link on their website that might be helpful to customers, does not have a reliable cancellation process and any assurance of customers funds being returned and they are also playing what i call the Western Union refund game. That is they have no problem taking money out of a customers account which can happen in 2 seconds but putting in back in can take 7 days. we all know its a computer transaction both ways and there is not legitimate reason for the delay a refund.
I will give them one compliment. Their staff at their customer service department is very polite and want to help but they are limited greatly by the really poorly run company they work for. i feel very sorry for them Based on my experience i am sure they have to deal with angry customers on a daily basis.
One final remark. Seldom if ever do i ever come across any company that is rated at 1 Star out of 5. you cannot get lower than that 1 star is the lowest.
After reading the complaints you will find many like mine and if i am reading this right their resolution of complaint issues is 15%. protect you time and money. Don't do business with this nightmare you will regret it
Desired outcome: Honest information on their website which needs to be updated and changed. Quick guaranteed refund process.

AUD 600 money transfer to my niece in Vienam
Warning: People, please keep away from this fraudulent money transfer company! I tried to send AUD 600 to my niece in Vietnam, which they promise that would be delivered within 2 days. After 3 or 4 days, nothing happened, I was suspicious so I looked at the receiver's details and found out that my niece's address was messed up. I thought it was a mistake so I wrote them to request them to fix it, but they took no concrete action, only gave me a vague response. A few more days, my niece informed me that Nam Á bank told d her the money was undeliverable because of her wrong full name (Given name first instead of Family name first by the Vietnamese way). I immediately asked WorldRemit to fix the mistake but they said they were waiting for their agent's answer. I was very angry so I asked them to cancel the transaction, and my niece asked the Nam Á bank to immediately return the failed transaction to WorldRemit. The bank did right away and gave her a paper acknowledging their action. A few more days passed, still no news from WorldRemit about my Cancel and Refund request. I looked at the status of my transaction on their Website and was shocked that they now mark it as "PAID" without acknowledging my Cancel request or paying me back a single cent!.
I now have no doubt about WorldRemit being a blatant money transfer with so many complaints from people who by mistake put their trust on them, including myself. I am now trying to take action against WorldRemit and willing to sign my name on a collective complaint if necessary.
Desired outcome: My full AUD 609 refund from WorldRemit
A blatant and shameless money transfer company who preys on people who mistakenly put their trust on them. It seems this company has a contempt of the law. I hope they would be put out of business for the good of people who need to send money to their loved ones.

Supporting fraud users and not cancelling payments tghat are not released
I made a transaction to a user that, some hours later, I found to be a fraud. I immediately contacted the support of WorldRemit, after checking that my bank hadn't released the money. They told me they could do nothing to cancel my transaction. Even when I showed written notice from my bank stating that they were waiting to release funds from my card upon WorldRemit confirmation, so if WR didn't confirm this operation I could still get my money back. They said it was not possible over an over again and didn't offer any solution. I asked multiple times for a complaint form and they didn't provide any either.
Desired outcome: Retrieve my transaction
