They stole my $755!
I tried to send $755 to Ghana in Africa but worldremit decided to block my payment and never gave me back my money! Do not do business with these crooks. They have a phone number but good luck gating to speak with a person. It almost never happens. I got through one time they found my history and told me they would get back to me about can I have my money back? So 3 days later never heard back and now they will not take any calls. They refer you to go read their help section. How is the help section going to get my money back to me? it wont! AVOID THIS CRAP COMPANY.
Recommendation: Go to Cashapp way better! They don't steal your funds like this worldremit dose.

BEST MONEY TRANSFER SERVICE BAR NONE! (& I'VE TRIED MANY!)
I have been using WorldRemit for near one year now for regular transfers (principally to friends in the Philippines). After an initial difficulty with the web site and sincere efforts by World Remit staff to assist me, I can now indicate that this company is head and shoulders above any other in the ease and consistency of their service at a competitive price.
No, I am not a company "plant of stooge", I am just a very satisfied customer that believes in recognising the efforts of a company to be the very best in their field.
It is fact that I was initially publicly critical of aspects of the way World Remit conducted its' business and in particular some of WR staff who were overzealous in contacting me (one in the very early hours of the morning!) in an attempt to bully me into upgrading my online reviews to a 5 star rating.
I have waited now over six months to re-review World Remit's performance and having used the longest running international money transfer company (with very poor results and many problems in recent times), can now recommend without hesitation; World Remit!
Stolen money
I transfer money to Kenja the money was received but 2 days later the money was refunded. I contacted customer service and they said the money was recieved.
They dont read my emails I told thme the money was recieved then taken back two days later.
Really a big scam! Yes we deposited the money but we wont look to see it was taken out two days later
Recommendation: stay away there are thiefs in the system.
100 Eur was transferred 22 Jan and received, however two days later the money was refunded from the account by world remit. Emails I sent are not read and they send auto replies about the money being received.
The Money was received but then world Remit reversed the charge two days later.
So the partner in Kenja will show you proof of deposit, however two days later they took the money back. Below is the transaction that took the money.
SAP02JI9RK confirmed. The transaction of Ksh17,183.00 with receipt SAM8R6IR1O has been reversed. Your new M-PESA balance is Ksh995.

If the transactions went thru, I will need to be reimbursed.

WorldRemit Review: Frustrating Experience, Account Shut Down, and Money Held Hostage
I recently sent a significant amount of money, $1124.00, to a trusted individual overseas using WorldRemit. I made the transaction early in the morning using my debit card, but to my surprise, I received an email at 7:15 am stating that they could not assist me. I was taken aback by this and immediately called customer care. However, it took me a whopping 45 minutes to reach someone, and when I finally did, the lady on the other end was very apologetic about the situation.
After talking for a while, she put me on hold, and I waited for another 35 minutes. Unfortunately, my call was dropped, but she did call me back and promised to send an email or fax to my bank. I waited all day, but nothing happened. To my dismay, my bank stopped my account, and I received an email from WorldRemit stating that they could not help me and had shut down my account. I was left in the dark with no explanation whatsoever.
I am now in the process of trying to retrieve my money through my bank, but this whole experience has left me feeling frustrated and angry. This type of stuff should not happen to us! I cannot fathom why this company is still in business. To make matters worse, my bank informed me that WorldRemit had checked out my account in April, and I had never even heard of the company until today, 07/03/2018. Why was WorldRemit checking out my account in April? This is a question that remains unanswered.
My bank has promised to put the money into my new account, but they have advised me not to spend it in case they cannot retrieve my money. I am extremely disappointed with this rip-off company, and I would advise anyone reading this review not to use WorldRemit. You will only receive regrets for using this bogus company.
WorldRemit Review: Delayed Payment Processing, Unnecessary Details, and Pathetic Service - A Complete Scam!
This company, WorldRemit, is a complete scam. They delayed my payment processing and asked for unnecessary details. I replied to their request on the same day (Tuesday), but when I emailed them again on Thursday to ask for an update, I received no response. I called them on Friday, but after being on hold for an hour, the call got disconnected. I tried calling them again on Sunday and finally got through. They claimed that they never received my reply, but when I got angry, they admitted that they had received it but their team never updates the status. I told them that it's illegal to delay payment like this purposely and not reply to emails. They gave me a stupid reason that I hadn't answered a question about future transaction volume, which was not important. I had provided all the necessary information, and they should have replied to me on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
I had a terrible experience with this company, and their guy, Xui Qin, who emailed me, hasn't replied to my emails till date. Their service is pathetic, and I would advise you to use some other provider or end up like me with thousands of dollars stuck. I had been using WorldRemit for more than a year, and my transfer volume was over $100k per year. However, I will take my business elsewhere now. I am just waiting for a refund, which might take another 7 days.
Please avoid this company at all costs! To make matters worse, they have now blocked my account after I reviewed them. This is unacceptable behavior from a company that claims to provide a reliable service.
Disappointing Experience with WorldRemit: Beware of Mistakes and Lack of Customer Support
We recently had an experience with WorldRemit, an online money transfer service, that left us feeling frustrated and disappointed. We had sent 1000 euros (1700 SGD) to our landlord in Singapore, but after a week of not receiving the money, our landlord became angry with us. It turned out that he had provided us with the wrong bank account number by mistake.
Unfortunately, we had also accidentally given the wrong bank account number to WorldRemit, with one too many zeros at the end. We contacted them to see if they could replace the account number with the correct one so that we could finally make the transaction to our landlord. However, their response was not what we had hoped for.
They informed us that a recall would not be possible for this transaction, meaning that they would not be able to get our money back or transfer it to the correct bank account number. We were shocked and confused by this response, as we had made an honest mistake and simply wanted to correct it.
When we asked what would happen to our money, they replied with a lie, saying that it had gone to the person with the wrong bank account number instead of our landlord. However, we knew that this was not true, as the bank account number we had given them had too many numbers in it and did not match with anyone else in the bank.
We were disappointed to learn that WorldRemit is actually a Somalian company that pretends to be from the UK. After doing some research, we discovered that the company is owned by a man named Ismail Ahmed. We felt that they were simply finding any excuse to keep our money and were not willing to help us correct our mistake.
Overall, our experience with WorldRemit was not a positive one. We would caution others to be careful when using this service and to double-check all bank account numbers before making a transfer.
Unreliable and Unhelpful: My Experience with WorldRemit
I had a really bad experience with WorldRemit. The first time I used their service was a few months ago to send money to my friend in Dubai. I was hoping it would be a quick and easy process, but it turned out to be a nightmare. My friend waited for 5 hours at the exchange, but there was no notification or record of the recipient. I had to call WorldRemit multiple times to coordinate and eventually had to change the recipient's name. It took 10 hours for the transaction to finally settle. I thought it was just a one-time thing, but I was wrong.
Recently, on December 27th, 2021, I tried to use WorldRemit again. I sent money to my friend in Dubai early in the morning, but the same thing happened again. My friend went to the exchange to pick up the money, but after waiting for 5 hours, they were refused pickup. I called WorldRemit multiple times, and their consultant suggested that I change the recipient's name again. I did as they suggested, but the same thing happened again. The consultant kept giving me robotic replies and suggested changing the recipient's name for the third time. It took two whole days, and my recipient still couldn't pick up the money. I was frustrated and canceled the transaction.
I never thought that WorldRemit had no control or communication over these overseas exchanges. When I demanded to speak to a manager or someone higher in rank, I was told that I had to wait a day or two because the manager "is very busy." It was a useless and hopeless experience that wasted my time.
Overall, I would not recommend using WorldRemit. Their service is unreliable, and their customer service is unhelpful. It's a shame because I was hoping for a better experience, but I was left disappointed.
WorldRemit.com Review: Terrible Customer Service and Lack of Accountability
My experience with worldremit.com has been quite disappointing. I was a regular customer who used their service to send money to my friend overseas in an emergency. However, things took a turn for the worse when I called their customer service for help.
To my surprise, I was asked personal questions that were completely irrelevant to the transaction. The agent was rude and unprofessional, making me feel like a criminal suspect. It was as if they had the power to judge and sentence me based on their own whims and fancies.
What's worse is that there was no way to escalate the issue to a supervisor or someone higher up in the company. I was stuck with the same agent who was clearly not interested in helping me. It was frustrating to say the least.
It's clear that worldremit.com shields its upper echelon staff from criticism and challenge. They seem to operate from within a cocoon of arrogant self-righteousness, which is not a good sign for any business. If they treat their customers this way, I can only imagine how they treat their employees.
In my opinion, worldremit.com cannot be trusted for fair play or fair judgement. They have behaved capriciously and dishonestly with me, and I'm glad I switched to another company. It's a shame that they never considered my side of the story or gave me a chance to communicate with someone who could have overruled the customer service agent.
In conclusion, I would not recommend worldremit.com to anyone. Their customer service is terrible, and they seem to have no regard for their customers' needs or concerns. If you're looking for a reliable money transfer service, look elsewhere.
WorldRemit Review: Poor Customer Service and Inefficient Compliance Process
I gotta say, my experience with WorldRemit has been a real bummer. I've been waiting for over a week for my money to be paid abroad, and it's still not there. I even sent an email to their customer service, but they never got back to me. Not cool, man.
I've had to send multiple documentations, and let me tell you, their compliance process is a real headache. It's not efficient at all, and their systems don't support the files I need to upload. Plus, their email inbox can't handle multiple files, or even just one file. And don't even get me started on their team's lack of capability to provide timely feedback and answers to technical and compliance questions.
I've used at least three other operators (AZIMO, RIA, INARA, WesternUnion), and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. I'm honestly worried that my money isn't secure, and I haven't been in touch with it for over a week. And to top it off, no one can give me a clear contact number or name for someone dealing with this transaction either abroad or here in the UK.
I've tried to raise a complaint on the chat and on the phone, but that's been a real challenge too. Calls and chats drop off, and there's not even an official complaint department or email. And there's no manager I can escalate the matter to, or anyone who can take personal accountability for this transaction.
My transaction is still in limbo after a week, despite their 24-hour promise. It's causing me a lot of trouble, as I've missed some payments I had to make myself. So, I'm making this a formal complaint.

My Positive Experience with WorldRemit: Debit Card vs Bank Transfer
I just wanted to share my experience with WorldRemit, as I have seen a lot of negative reviews and wanted to provide a different perspective. I have used WorldRemit about a dozen times in the past 1-3 years, and I have always used my debit card to make the payment. I usually use it to get cash abroad at a better exchange rate with lower fees than my bank. However, sometimes my bank would stop the payment, and I would have to sort it out with them to confirm that I did make the payment and want to proceed. Despite this, every time I have used WorldRemit, I have had no problem collecting the cash.
Recently, I used WorldRemit again for the first time in over a year, but this time, I did it by bank transfer, thinking it would prevent my bank from having an issue with the payment and locking my card. However, despite never having any problems receiving the money before, I started to panic after reading all the negative reviews. With the debit card, the money is received instantly, and you can collect quickly. But with a bank transfer, it takes up to 24 hours, and I began to worry that it would never say the money was received by them, and I would be in the same position as many others who have had trouble being refunded. The fact that there was no email address, and the phone and chat services were not working, made me really worry.
About an hour after I sent the money, I called my bank to see if I could stop the payment while on hold. While waiting, I refreshed the page, and the status of my payment had changed, saying they had received the funds, and I could now collect. I hung up the call to my bank and went to get the cash without any issue at all. So, I have still never had any problem with them!
However, I am knocking off a star because if there had been a problem, I am not sure how I would have contacted them with all avenues closed off. It was this that caused me to panic and almost cancel the payment. Overall, my experience with WorldRemit has been positive, but I do understand why some people may have had negative experiences. It is important to do your research and understand the risks before using any money transfer service.
WorldRemit Review: Not Worth Your Time - Huge Hassle and Frustration!
I gotta say, WorldRemit is not worth your time. I tried to save a few bucks by not using PayPal, but it ended up being a huge hassle. I sent my payment on October 8th and had to keep contacting customer service and the helpline to figure out why my transaction hadn't been sent yet. It took me over 5 hours in total! The chatbox kept closing for no reason, which was super frustrating. One time, when I contacted customer service, they asked me to send a selfie to confirm my identity. But there was no place on their website or in the initial email to send the selfie!
Finally, on October 12th, I contacted customer service for the 4th or 5th time and they asked me to call my bank to confirm if my transfer had been made and not held for security purposes. I called my bank and there was no issue, but my transaction didn't go through until October 9th. Then, on October 13th, I found out that my transaction had been cancelled on their end. It took them so long to cancel it! They didn't even give me a reason for the cancellation.
I had to call customer service for the 6th time to ask why, and they said maybe it was because I sent my selfie too late. But why didn't they tell me to send it immediately if that was the problem? It's ridiculous that they let you send them money to their bank account but won't let you transfer money until they've "identified your identity."
Their solution was for me to order another transaction and pay the fee AGAIN. They said they'd refund my previous transaction in 3 to 7 working days. But do I trust them to order another transaction and pay again? No way. If I don't get my refund in 7 days, I'm definitely contacting the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
WorldRemit Review: Terrible Customer Service and Security Issues
I gotta say, my experience with WorldRemit was not great. I mean, I'd give it zero stars if I could. Let me tell you about it. So, I downloaded the app a couple of years ago and had a few successful transactions. But then, my account got hacked and there were some weird transactions from Kenya or something like that. It was like two different people from different countries were using the same account. I could see their transactions and who knows if they could see mine too. So, I deleted my debit card from the account right away. That's a major security issue, if you ask me. It's like WorldRemit doesn't care about their customers' privacy and security.
Anyway, fast forward to today. I decided to give WorldRemit another chance and created a new account. But after my first international transaction, my account got disabled. And when I asked customer service what the problem was, they said my account didn't meet their criteria. What criteria? They wouldn't tell me. They just told me to read the terms and conditions. That's not helpful at all! And the worst part is, the customer service people didn't even try to help me. They just sent me a long automated message saying my account was canceled and that they would issue a refund in 7 days. What a joke!
I even tried using the app on my mom's iPhone, and the same thing happened. I only tried sending $5 to Zambia to test it out, and it didn't work. The customer service was terrible, and the app was just a waste of time and resources. I'll stick with WesternUnion from now on. I've never had any issues with them. I only tried WorldRemit because people in Africa rave about the "mobile money transfer" feature. But it's not worth it if the app is so poorly serviced.
So, if you're thinking about using WorldRemit, don't bother. It's such BS. And by the way, WorldRemit, I'm expecting my refund ASAP.
Warning: Terrible Experience with WorldRemit - $4000 Wire Transfer Not Processed, Funds Not Returned
I recently had a terrible experience with WorldRemit. I sent a wire transfer of $4000 and they have stated that they are not able to process it and have not returned my money yet. It's been a frustrating experience and I want to warn others about this company. I requested the transfer on July 6th and after providing a lot of verification, including a copy of my passport, there was no communication from them since July 11th. They said they had sent my funds to their "Partner" who was processing the transaction. I waited and waited, but there was no update.
Last week, I tried to contact their "live chat" feature, but it wasn't working. I called them, but it was difficult to get through and I was on hold for over an hour. Finally, I was able to speak to someone and they opened a "case" to look into my transaction. Today, I received an email saying that they are unable to process the transfer. I checked my account and my $4000 was not deposited back. I responded to their email, but they said that my transaction is currently locked by their local agent and they are waiting for updates to confirm the cancellation.
This is a huge issue for me as the $4000 was a payment to my contractor for the building of my home. I can't afford to lose that much money. I have used Xoom, XE Money Transfer, and Remitly frequently and they have always sent a refund immediately if they were unable to perform the request.
I have given WorldRemit until July 23rd to find my funds and get them back into my account. If they don't, I will be taking legal action and also contacting the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, and anyone else I can report this company to. I want to warn others to be careful when using this company and not to send any large amount of money through them.

United States of America customers, don't waste your time and money, PERIOD! Smh
I would give Zero stars if I could. Interesting. Well here's a (29th December, 2021) review for you. I'll NEVER use WorldRemit again! The first time I downloaded this app 2 years ago, after about 3 successful transactions, my account was Hacked and there were weird transactions from another country showing on my account. I think they were from Kenya or something like that. The experience was like 2 different people from different countries in the same account. I could see their transactions and who knows if they could see mine too so, I immediately deleted my debit card from the account in the settings. This shows how WorldRemit doesn't care about the security and privacy of their customers! And now today I decided to give it a second chance by creating a new account and it's been disabled after the first international transaction that didn't even complete processing? And you tell me that it's because my account doesn't meet the criteria of your terms and conditions? And when I ask the customer service what stupid "criteria" you're talking about, you say that you can't "disclose the details" and that I should just view the "terms and conditions" as if that will solve anything! Y'all need to fix this! What a severely poor serviced app! Especially for United States customers! I downloaded the app on my mom's iPhone too and the same thing happened.(again, I only tried sending $5 so that I don't risk much). The customer service people in the app didn't even try to help me! They just send a Long automated message saying my account is canceled due to WorldRemit's criteria blah blah blah. And that they will issue a refund in 7 days or whatever. Thank God I only tried to send $5 to Zambia to see if would work well before I try to send a large amount, and let me tell you, it doesn't work, lol. Don't even waste your time and resources. I'll just go back to using the WesternUnion app because I've never experienced such B. S. from them. I only tried to use WorldRemit because people in Africa rave about the "mobile money transfer" feature. And by the way, I will be expecting my REFUND WorldRemit! Such B. S.!
Shut down account without notice
Two weeks ago I decided to use my World Remit account to send money to my mother. I initially created the account about ten years ago to send money to my sister in West Africa. After that I didn't need it again. So now ten years later, I'm no longer a struggling college student and can send my parents funds I decide to do so. I log into my account with no...

Long time to fix the transaction problem.
I transferred some money to my family, but the recipient's last name went wrong. So, I used the platform to fix it as soon as I saw the mistake. However, the app didn't work and always popped up a message saying there was a problem with the app and should try later. I looked for some help through the chat in the app, and I always got the same answer. It...

Recalling a paid transaction
I made a mobile money transfer on the 17.09.2023 using world remit and accidentally sent it to a wrong number. I contacted the network provider, and access to this money was blocked, only needs request from world remit to reverse the money. I have since then tried contacting world remit customer helpline and sent emails but got no response at all.
Any one to help me on this?

A transfer was blocked due to verification of ID data. I provided you with this data weeks ago. However, no one is answering mails neither calls.
Next thing: I had to cancel the transaction and I am still waiting for a refund since 13/09.
My request: please refund the amount involved and let me know if you re missing data or other, so I can use the account again.
Many Thanks
Bart Bogers
Desired outcome: My request: please refund the amount involved and let me know if you re missing data or other, so I can use the account again.
Money transfer
My Father made two transfers from Australia to Tanzania on the 31st of August. The funds were required in Tanzania urgently for a very specific purpose. After approximately 7 days the funds had not arrived. He was then asked to provide more information (a LARGE amount of supporting information). After providing all of the required information we...
Read full review of WorldRemitMy recipient hasn't received their money yet
Ive used Worldremit for 3 years and haven't had any problems with them.. but I made 3 transactions on Sept. 14th 2023 at 1:15 pm and then I got a email saying there was a glitch in the system and they would update me within 6 hours. I waited the 6 hours and then I got a text to my phone saying they would update me in another 6 hours. I waited and heard nothing from them. So I called on 3 different occasions and was put on hold for a hour each time and they told me the same thing. I would get a update in 6 hours. Now its 3 days later and I haven't gotten anything from them at all. I have been very patient with this but this is ridiculous. I'm scared that are going to try to keep my money. I'm at my wits end I dont know what to do about this. I am looking for another app to send money for my next time for sure. I won't use them again. Please help.

Desired outcome: Please respond I'd like for my recipient to get their money and a apology would be great. This is totally uncalled for. You dont treat your customers like this.
I got my money back. They said 3 to 5 days before I would get it back but it was back in my account on the same day they told me it would be 3 to 5 days. So happy to get it resolved.

Money transfer gone wrong.
I initiated a transfer on the 30th of august and because it was so slow,5 hours past and no confirmation, I suspected their system was hacked. I immediately cancelled my transaction. It's been hell reaching a customer service rep-on the USA-[protected]. Undue hardship has happened to me and the initial recipient because of world remit nonsensical way of business. I need my refund fast before I slap them with a big lawsuit.
