Shocking! Avoid at all costs!
I ordered a lightweight garden spade for my elderly parents from Shedsworld UK. The item was being sold for more money on their website than elsewhere, but it was showing as 'in stock.' They promised to deliver the next day.
6 days later the item hadn't arrived and no communication from Shedsworld UK.
My elderly mother tried to contact Shedsworld. 2 emails and half an hour waiting on hold later, only to be told that the item was actually out of stock and they had no idea when it would be in stock. Furthermore, they had taken her money and would take up to a week to return it.
This company do not hold items in stock. They take your money and then go out to the market to see if they can locate it. And their customer service is appalling.
Avoid at all costs!
Poor quality & terrible service
We bought a bed frame and mattress and in less than 6 months the slats had warped (massively) and the mattress had a huge indentation in it. The quality of both bed and mattress is rubbish and, for a bit more money, we bought a really great mattress from Loaf and far superior bed frame from IKEA.
In addition to a poor quality product, the service is honestly amongst the absolute worst I've ever dealt with. I sent more than 20(!) emails over a period of more than a month chasing people and trying to find out what was happening with my complaint. They often take a week to respond (if you remind them every couple of days). Eventually I called World Stores but you have to wait on hold for a long time and then someone just tells you someone else will get back to you. But no one does. They won't transfer to you a manager and they won't let you wait on hold until one is available. If you ask them to, they threaten to terminate the call (this actually appears to be policy).
Eventually World Stores agreed to replace the slats and refund me for the mattress. After more than 15 phone calls over the past two weeks, I've received neither.
I dealt with Emma Mitchel, Zoe Longhurst, and a manager called Ray Jordan (amongst others).
Save yourself the hassle and spend a bit more money on something that will last more than 6 months.
failure to deal with complaint
Purchased a bed and mattress from World Stores, delivered on 19th September. I advised World Stores by email early Friday morning 3rd October that after only 13 nights of using the mattress is was already sagging and dipping and obviously not fit for its purpose. We are not particularly heavy - me at 9st 7 and husband 11st. I suggested that I purchase another mattress of better quality from them (paying the difference between the faulty mattress and the new one) and they deliver the new mattress and collect the faulty one.
Bearing in mind their published 14 day no quibble money back guarantee the only response I have received was that they asked for photos and said they would take it up with their Suppliers! My contract of course is with them and not their suppliers.
I have received no further communication from them and they are now basically ignoring my emails. Last night one of the springs actually collapsed. Disgusting way to deal with complaints.

One of the managers from World Stores telephoned, Amanda, and she together with her assistant, Becky, arranged (yesterday) to take my order for a replacement mattress which was delivered today. I received full credit for the faulty mattress plus World Stores contributed towards the extra cost of the replacement mattress.
World Stores an absolutely in-trustworthy retailer. I have now read so many reviews that are negative and am in the process of seeking compensation plus bringing this company to the attention of the media. Their website and claims are misleading...no next day delivery. It seems that they are experts at being economical with the truth in order to fob you off when you simply want to know why the goods you have pad for have not been delivered and you have taken numerous days off work waiting for it. I have been waiting since August for my dining suite, fully paid for, not on credit. I have even changed the order to a different one twice, due to problems getting the original choices. They delivered the table over a month ago...I am still waiting for the chairs! Infuriating, especially those texts they send late in the evening telling you not to wait in for the delivery the following day...Too late, I already made alternative arrangements at work. Trading Standards need to do something and so I have contacted them. Plus written to Richard and Joe the CEO's but wont hold my breath for a response from either of them.
Failure to deliver
Ordered a garden playhouse in what we thought would be good time for our daughter’s birthday as the website implied 48 hours delivery. Almost three weeks later (after the birthday!) we are still waiting.
Worldstores have been very sloppy about this. Bland replies to chasing e-mails do not offer any concrete progress, they choose instead to blame ‘the supplier’, ignoring the fundamental point that they have taken our money and we have a contract with them.
This company is awful. They have no respect for their customers or for Trading Standards laws. I will never use them again and I would advise anyone to steer clear.
failure to deliver & communicate
We ordered a wardrobe and chest of drawers for our tenanted flat delivery was confirmed for Tuesday 4th Feb. We had to make special arrangements to wait at the flat. The indication was that a text message or call would be made to confirm an approx. time but somebody stayed at the flat all day just on case the delivery arrived without a call. The delivery did not arrive after waiting all day without any communication from Worldstores or courier.
We have requested information numerous times via the website, and also by e-mailing the address on the courier's XDP's website. Although they have been automatically acknowledged, stating that they would deal with it as soon as possible, we have heard nothing.
Since Monday 3rd Feb the tracking info has said the order is at the depot of the courier XDP. We managed to contact the XDP who informed us that not all the parts were with them.
This is extremely poor service with absolutely no communication.

Still waiting 7 days later for next day delivery. 30 min wait on service line but surprise surprise no wait to get through on sales, staff unwilling to help. No managers in office.
Damaged goods on delivery
I have previously complained about the lack of after sales service from this company. To recap, a mattress and damaged bed was delivered on 23 October 2013. It has taken several complaints before the company has agreed to make appropriate arrangements to collect.
Here is an update.

Yes, I had 2 calls from them but unfortunately missed both. In one call I was told that the collection would take place Friday 15 November.

Damaged goods
I purchased a bed and mattress online. At the time of purchase I was not given a delivery date option. On confirmation of order I immediately sent an e-mail advising correct delivery date. Guess what? The bed was being delivered the next day. Arrangements were made for the correct date and the delivery guys were a very friendly and efficient team.
When I started unpacking, I found the bed frame damaged and parts were missing. After holding on for 35 minutes, I was told to email pictures to their company. They called back and said that it would take between 5 and 7 working days to exchange. You read correct. Between 5 and 7 working days. I told them to collect as I would purchase elsewhere. Since then, the damaged goods have not been collected.
I was promised a telephone call from them to make collection arrangements. Nothing! I sent another e-mail Monday 4 November requesting collection Thursday 7 November. I had taken the day off work expecting a collection but not a chance. The e-mail was only read and responded to 3 days later, i.e. Thursday 7 November!
Why? Because they've had an enormous amount of e-mails. The e-mail was sent to [protected]@worldstores.co.uk and they only deal with damaged goods. In other words complaints! The staff have been courteous and even sympathetic, however they don't do collections on Saturdays or 6pm weekdays. So am I supposed to take off another day from work and loose revenue because they messed it up?
NEVER EVER AGAIN. A word of advice, if possible pay by credit card. That way you can reverse the purchase and they'll come to you even out of hours to collect
I feel such a fool to think I have been one of many who have had the misfortune to come in contact with world stores. I ordered 2 throws on the 7th may 2015 by the 8th the money has been taken from my account. I have rang both numbers and nobody picks up, have sent an e.mail of complaint which they acknowledge they receive informing me that they will look into my order and complaint that have been the last communication I have had with worldstores. Instead of wasting more time and money I thought it best to look up on the net about this awful company. I very much hope something quickly can be done about worldstores before others are taken advantage of.

I got this on August after waiting for ages for it to be delivered. Called to complain and was told to take pictures and dismantle. Dismantled it and waited over a month for reply. Was told the pictures are not detailed enough and they want photos of all four sides of the constructed shed. I can't reconstruct the shed myself. My brother has started working 500 miles away so he can't reconstruct the shed for me to take photos. Now all I have is a deconstructed poor quality shed. The sides are made of cheap quality fence panel like material that is stapled together, it's uneven. The floor and roof are mdf and the windows are very poor quality plastic sheets. The she I purchased is Royal 6x6ft pressure treated overlap apex, since I purchased it it now has budget in the title. Though it's still the same price. £219.99. Interestingly there are no reviews for it. Probably because reviews are only published if they meet shedworlds guidelines, I wonder what they are!
Goods not supplied, no refund
Trading under a number of different names this organisation treats its customers with utter contempt! Ordered a bed and mattress... only mattress was delivered... filthy and torn packaging, fabric heavily soiled. Upon enquiring was told that bedframe was not in stock (website said instock for immediate delivery) and was unlikely to be in-stock for 3months! It took almost a month to get the matress collected and just under three months to get the credit. They NEVER answer their Customer Service telephone line. Avoid at all costs (when ordering on-line make sure that the site is not operated by Worldstores!)
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The website for bedroomworld (one of worldstores fronts) has a picture of a trustpilot review of 4 stars. Trust pilot has a 1 star rating for them (the minimum - they don't do zero starts). I believe that alone constitutes fraud.
Awful awful awful! Ordered 2 bedside cabinets both arrived today damaged. Have been on the phone holding for 1hr 20 mins listening to how important I am as a customer yet they don't pick up. I have emailed the pictures of the damage and have had a response to say it could be up to 3 days before they get back to me. What customer service is that!

I would not recommend ordering from this company at all, they purport to sell you goods on their internet website and then do not delivery, falsely claiming that they have delivered. They do not answer emails and also do not provide you with a refund, thereby appropriating funds dishonestly. I have reported this company to trading standards and have been advised to consider reporting to Action Fraud - please see their website. With enough people reporting, there will be an investigation and also prevent the 'cyber crime' on potential other victims being scammed of monies when there is no intention to deliver. They falsely provide information that they have delivered when this is false and inaccurate. dear all - Please consider reporting as a matter of urgency.
Mum in law ordered a bed for delivery last Friday. Got rid of her old one Friday morning to make room for the new one and since then she's been sleeping in a chair. No bed. No delivery day. No answers. Mum in law has an arthritic hip as well.

this is what they did to me, I bought a parrot cage, and they took out two payments for the same transaction and left me in so much trouble with my bank, and charges etc, not a penny left in my bank to cover direct debits coming off all this week. Looks like they have kept my money.
I bought a mattress from Worldstores which was delivered to my house in early July. It soon became clear it was broken and very very uncomfortable. I then tried to contact the company by phone to report this over the next couple of weeks but on every occasion the queue was absurdly long so I never got through. Eventually, when I did get through, I was appalled that the advice given to me totally contradicted the advice I had received from Trading Standards. Two Worldstores employees claimed that there was no possible way the mattress could be replaced or refunded, despite it being broken and deeply unsatisfactory. This goes completely against the Consumer Rights Act, which means that Worldstores' terms and conditions are, well, illegal. I have 30 days within which to exercise my 'short-term right to reject'. Moreover, they banned me from both their Facebook and Twitter pages for simply pointing out the above truths. So censorship that wouldn't be out of place in a fascist regime is their preferred method of dealing with critical customers.
MY delivery arrived and once unpacked there is damage to a few prominent parts, I have emailed Worldstores twice but to date have not had a reply from them
I have never had an experience with any company as bad as this company, how they stay in business is beyond my comprehension.
Failed deliveries, broken promises, no updates, no resetting of expectations, no proactive contact, no escalation process.
All this is then compounded by agents how can hide behind process and policies to absolve themselves and business of any accountability. If you promise something to be delivered on a date and then advise that should not have been promised but no updates as to when you can expect (literally no one knows) then confirm a new delivery date and repeat the whole process you have to form the opinion nothing they can or will ever say can ever be trusted.
I really wish I had seen these reviews before I ordered, I only went off the "Feefo" feedback displayed proudly on their website which is quite clearly not representative of customer experience.
Please, please read all the reviews before you deal with this company as my opinion is not the only negative viewpoint on here so this must tell you something...don't buy from them unless you want to be disappointed and wasted weeks of your time.
Ordered 2 bedside tables as part of a bedroom furniture set 6 MONTHS AGO! Keep being told that I'll be contacted with an update/ courier will contact me to arrange delivery / suppliers are having problems with their labelling system / they are out of stock/ they are back in stock/ etc etc. Since ordering I have managed to conceive a child which will probably arrive sooner than their furniture does! I have asked for a refund on the bedside tables as well as the rest of the furniture which has arrived but is no good to me as part of an incomplete set, so we'll see how that goes. Any advice gratefully received! NEVER ORDER FROM WORLDSTORES, SOFAWORLD, KIDDICARE OR ACHICA! They are all part of this awful excuse for a business.
I ordered two bar tables in white. They delivered ones which had a wood finish.
I called in the morning stating that I would need the white ones by the next day. after endless back and forth ALL DAY, via phone and email, I still won't have the tables I need in time for our event. Very disappointed. Furious!
Also, they were unable to transfer me to a manager, and the manager they promised would call me did not.
This firm is highly NOT recommended so be warned!
Julia c.this company is crap on delivery, the webpage states delivery 5-7 days we actually had to wait over 2 weeks customer service and the actually product as well we ordered a shed we were told we would recieve a phone call an hour before it was due to be delivered . we never recieved that (not surprised as the shed was delivered at 530am! ) so they would have to ring us at 430! the bloke could not care less .when we assembled the shed the front panel was split and the rear apex is split as well and sinse has fallen apart the floor is flimsey and cracked and cant take the weight of the shed and it is made poorly the roof does not line up either we have been pased from pillar to post never get phone calls back when they say they will or if they do it is after 9pm this firm is highly NOT recommended so be warned!
The quality of their product is really poor
At my age I should know you really do only get what you pay for! Ordered a shed on 2-5 days delivery. Took a month to deliver and then the driver refused to carry it to the back of the house. "kerbside only mate!"
If it wasn't for the £100 returns charge, I would have sent it straight back. The quality is really poor. Badly fitting, flimsy made panels. Split wooden supports and extremely flimsy construction. Only 5ft 6 inches head clearance at the door and purlin hight. Made for little people only.
I just hope we don't have any strong winds or heavy snow!

False advertising on delivery dates
Awful company ordered a shed as website said 2-7 working days for delivery, I then get a call saying earliest available date is two weeks later as they have no one in my area before then! Canceled order after three unanswered emails still waiting for a refund which they said that can not process until they can confirm my order has not been dispatched! Then they advise it will take 7 working days for my money to be refunded DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY FALSE ADVERTISING ON DELIVERY DATES AND AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

An absolute disgrace - purposefully checked delivery timescales small print and called to double check. Ordered knowing that my shed would arrive in 2-5 business days - but now it turns out it won't. And there is NOTHING THEY CAN DO to help.
Feel very let down. Their table of delivery timescales can not be trusted in any way.
My personal opinion is that they deceive in order to get the deal and then rely on customers not being bothered to cancel the order.

Absolutely appalling. After sales team were rude and patronizing. Ordered shed for wife's medical supplies and was given 7-10 days delivery window. Emailed on day 8 to find out if a delivery was imminent and didnt receive a response. Phoned on day 12, (10 working days) and was put through to a woman who spoke down to me and wanted to 'count' out how many working days there were from date of order 5th October to 17th October.
My wife now has nowhere to store her medical supplies and we cant move in the house. We still have no idea when the shed will arrive, if ever. An approximate date is the 27th october, WHICH BY MY CALCULATIONS IS MORE THAN 10 WORKING DAYS. They should not advertise delivery dates if they cannot stick to them. false advertising and very poorly trained staff. They really dont give a s*** about the consumer, all they want is your money. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY, STICK TO REPUTABLE DIY STORES WHERE YOU KNOW YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU HAVE ORDERED IN THE TIME THEY HAVE SPECIFIED.
