Yelp.com Yelp is moving my 5 star positive reviews to a non recommended section. As of 3/3/2023 & I now cannot log into my business yelp account

I am the Business owner of It's A Dogs life Academy. I am addressing an issue with YELP as I had a customer contact me a few days ago regarding a 5 star positive rating recommendation post on YELP which was moved to a "Non Recommended" section. After looking into my YELP account I noticed nearly 20 legitimate customers who still attend today were also moved out of the positive rating section. With determination I found a number for YELP & spoke with an employee named Denise

We have asked why all of our 5 star Positive Recommendations have kindly been put under the "Non Recommendation" list. She stated its the algorithm & we cannot fix it, well your algorithm is broken. We have recommendations that go as far back as when we opened nearly 9 years ago. Ratings that are 5 star ratings with lovely recommendations. Shamefully we have good customers who still attend who have written 5 star YELP recommendations & those 5 star positive recommendations have been deleted & have been put into the "Non Recommendation" section as well. This is discrediting to our business as YELP is moving our positive recommendations to a section that cannot be seen by possible new customers as being recognized as a "NEGATIVE Business". The YELP employee Denise hung up on me this afternoon during this conversation, that was professional. This will be taken up with the BBB & the scam report. Welcome to the world of algorithms & bots as humans cannot control YELP if you have a problem. We will take this further, meanwhile we appreciate your Positive Recommendations in hope that the algorithm does not move you to the "Non Recommendation" section. As a new customer if you only saw 4 positive comments & 17 "Non Recommended" comments would you attend the business? YELP has generated negative impact against my business & its fraud. They have done a Bait & Switch at it's finest! I will assume the algorithm will recognize this as a "Non Recommended" comment & move it as well. Please recognize this statement as an official complaint against YELP. Researching YELP complaints at www.yelpcomplaintsboard.com established since 2004. The complaints are a recurring issue. They take off positive 5 star reviews for loads of businesses that don't pay a monthly $300.00 a fee a month, who knew. We all thought as a business owner having YELP was a positive platform for business owners. Maybe YELP should have FACT checkers. I noticed one complaint from a gentleman in San Diego on YELP reviews & complaints. He stated back in August of 2022 that YELP is calling 5 star reviews fraud. WOW! He has stated that if you do not pay the $300.00 a month they allow all negative reviews and take down good ones. Well, he nailed it on the head no doubt. Now we truly know what's going on with YELP, SCAM! I will be asking some of our customers to remove their positive comments & when they find the time to comment with a positive review once again in the future will see how quickly the 5 star positive reviews will stay out of the "Non Recommended" section. My only question is YELP How do you explain this one in court? Not easy is it? I'll be taking screenshots of my current YELP as proof before you tamper with it again, have a nice day. As of now since my complaint my YELP account is not accessible with my log in. It has been canceled for me to operate to the account. First Amendment has now been attacked.

Yelp.com Representatives

The representatives @ yelp think that they are untouchable! They are very rude and pushy, I wanted to cancel my ads and it took over 30 mins of hassle. The rudest tone and people ever! Use Google yelp employees, literally thank they can say and get away with anything. Yelp needs to be shut down or be open to the reviews of the own biz. You would think they would be more interested in making the best customer experience, but clearly not.

Desired outcome: Yelp employees take responsibility, be helpful not destroy everything that you the company is built off .. making the experience better for customers.

Yelp is terrible business because when none of any business pay for advertising with them, they have always removed all good reviews from most nice clients who enjoyed the services truly that's incorrect and unfair for many businesses or every field of businesses but they have never deleted or removed fake and slandering reviews for all businesses! This Yelp business need and are hungry for the MONEY inappropriately, so we need you all to understand us well this time and please decide to act it urgently especially Charles Marrion who's bad!

Desired outcome: None of Charles's slandering review shows in Yelp anymore

Yelp.com Yelp Ads

Was lied to over the phone by Nicholas Matsoukas several times, in order to get me to sign up for Yelp Ads.

Soon as I realized he lied to me and this whole thing is a scam, I called and emailed him. Asking for my services to be cancelled and for him to contact me... Needless to say, I've never heard from him again, after several more attempts to reach him.

More charges have been added on after my request to cancel

Legal action will be taken if my balance is not reverted to zero immediately

Desired outcome: make my account balance zero and Nicholas Matsoukas should be suspended if not fired!

Yelp.com Review containing false information about my business.

Yelp is allowing a review of my business stating that I am not longer in business to stay on my page, although that was not and has never been the case. I was very much in business when the review was posted, and I shouldn't have to be concerned about incorrect review from users who have a history of posting bad reviews with no direct actual experience with the business. A customer with incorrect information, or even posting a review for an entirely different business, should have their reviews removed.

Yelp.com Health service I'm complaining about the unfairness that they removed the 5 stars with a nice client except a bad guys who put a terrible review!

The cause we must specify a bad guy's full because his slandering review has still showed at Yelp and many people can see it terribly. Yelp.com New owner - rebranded - stuck with old reviews

In Nov 2020 we bought a nail salon in Methuen Ma. (White Lotus).

We are an LLC.

Over the next 2 years, we saved up enough money to do the rebranding we hoped to do right away.

We replaced almost all of the staff and reset expectations for what a visit to this salon should feel like for customers. We established clear policies for cleanliness and care.

In Dec of 2022 - we reset the business. We rebranded, a new website, new logo, and new Facebook, Google, and Bing accounts to ensure that we are graded against our work.

We contacted Yelp, and instead of opening a new account for us - as we asked, they simply changed the name and left all of the old reviews stuck against our new company just because it happened to sit in the location of the prior business.

I can't get a person to speak to and their email system is brutal as they keep ignoring the reality of the situation.

Desired outcome: Reset our account on Yelp to have a clean slate or at least no reviews prior to Nov 2020's purchase.

Yelp.com Facial filler. I am about to repeat all the reviews I have posted already.

My update for a post I posted a month or so ago, has not changed much. I have however, decided to let everyone know that nothing at all has changed. I still have not heard a word from Laseraway, even after writing several times to what appears to be their corporate email address. Incidentally, all I could find after searching for an entire evening was that they had been restricted not to do business anymore. I am not a lawyer, but speaking as a member of the public, I believe they should reply to everyone who has some grievance with them. Should I be wrong regarding their restrictions, I feel sure I will at least hear back from them.

I have noticed that whoever represents Laseraway from the corporate side often writes on Yelp BUT only to thank people who put up a complimentary review. That, I think is a perfect example of who they are and their lack of fairness concerning anyone who has a bad experience as i have.

I had an appointment about 10 days ago to have Botox on my forehead for the lines and filler for my face which also was for the lines. The Botox went wonderfully well. I was very satisfied, however. although I specifically asked for my lines to be filled in my cheeks, that is not what happened. The nurse proceeded to go way above my cheeks and started to fill my cheekbones. I was extremely confused when I said that it wasn’t my cheekbones that I wanted filling; it was the lines on my face. She still proceeded to put the stuff in my cheekbones, although I was not happy. I didn’t think it would make much difference and it didn’t. There’s no indication that the lines on my face had been treated whatsoever.

I ended up paying $1150 for treatment on my face, and as far as I’m concerned, it was a complete waste of my money. I had been going quite regularly to Medspot on Laurel Canyon Boulevard for the past five years. They never gave me the impression that lines could not be filled, which was exactly the opposite to what the nurse had told me.

Try here we’re no managers available so I mentioned my dilemma to a number of staff there at Laseraway, and they all agreed that the filling goes into the lines, not the cheekbones.

In my last letter to one of the managers, I had hoped someone would have offered to either correct the treatment or give me a refund. It really disappointed me to have to complain. I compared all this to someone having an oil change, and the oil was mistakenly distributed in the water tank. I tend to think that would not have been the owner's fault.

I'm inclined to agree with you. Thanks for posting. I am having an issue that YELP basically decided to put up a load of ridiculous reasons why they took my complaint down.

They canceled my account without notice or warning...

I recently went in to leave a poor review about bad company. But upon logging in got "sorry, this account is closed" Okay... searched around for the Support section to contact them, to get answers about what happened. And... nothing.

Just a Support Restaurant email contact. Nothing under Consumer. Agreed, they've gone from a legit complaints board to hot garbage. So unfortunate.

Yelp.com Yelp keeps trying to scam my business

YELP is a company thats has shown me will do anything to try to manipulate business owners into playing their game of paying them to keep your business in good standing with them. They will get information on your business and then identify if you will pay them their extortion fees in the form of advertising often listed as FREE when they are not. Different characters will contact you from their office trying to get you to pay for an ad campaign. If you do not then they will slowly bump you down in ratings on their site. Also they will remove good reviews, list bad ones and do what ever they like with no impunity. Their site is total garbage in terms of veracity and they use their business solely to try to manipulate and control small business owners through extortion techniques. They need a class action lawsuit to shut them down once and for all.

Yelp's sales people will also lie about the cost of advertising on the platform to get you in the door. Then you are stuck with very expensive rates until you can get the ad shut down and possibly refunded. They refunded part of my billing and then recharged me the same amount the next month. Yelp is a scam company.

Yelp.com Popeye's in Post Falls, ID

We ordered 2 dinners from Popeye's in Post Falls through Door Dash. When our order arrived we only had half of our order. When we called Popeye's to complain the girl who answered was very rude and stated "Well what do you want me to do about it". Very unprofessional and rude! Not once did she apologize for the inconvenience. When we called back to speak to the manager on duty that night he also was rude and hung up on us. I will Never order from them again as this is not the first time they have messed up our order.

Yelp.com Yelp services for businesses

Hi, I was contacted by Chad Burn Buxton regarding my Yelp account. I explained all the problems that I was having and he promised to rectify the situtation on a recorded line. From what I can tell, nothing has been done on my yelp business site, no changes have been made, and I have left numerous messages for this individual at the yelp phone number that was provided. I feel that this is a deceptive and unfair trade practice. I'd like someone to examine the recording that was made of our conversation. My phone number is: [protected]. I have been calling Yelp now for two weeks. If nobody has any intention to perform their duties and obligations, then I feel that I should not have to either.

Desired outcome: Since no work was done on the site, and no leads have been generated, I want total cancellation of my payment obligations. I made it very clear that the proper changes need to be made in our verbal recorded contract.

We have strived to provide exceptional service in a time when people need our help the most.. Yelp has deemed itself the keepers of other businesses fate as they sensor and remove all good reviews that we have worked so hard for and that our valued customers have taken their precious time to log on an write a review on our performance and service experience. Our reputation is everything in our biohazard clean up line of work.. Very disappointed in yelps service and handling of this. A call to their rep was even worse.. We were told to focus on our business and not on our reviews! Find alternate places to send your clients for feedback

I have worked hard to provide excellence to this company I have taken over being on call 24/7. Yelp is calling 5-star reviews fraud. I'm calling Yelp out on extortion. You pay the 300.00 a month or they allow negative reviews. and take down good reviews.

I spoke to Michael at Yelp and he could care-a-less. Obviously, this is an all-day occurrence at Yelp and by his nonchalant uncaring attitude. As a person running a business I care for my clients and the attitude of the staff matters.

Yelp.com Negative review of non-profit — hope pregnancy clinic of Salem, OR

On June 26, 2022, a "customer" review appeared on Yelp for Hope Pregnancy Clinic in Salem, OR. The reviewer hails from Chicago, IL and was clearly not reviewing the Clinic, but rather the clinic's position on abortion services. Sometime after this, Yelp disabled further reviews of the clinic and posted an "Unusual Activity Alert" stating that the review was itself under review.

Now, Yelp could have removed the review during this time until its veracity was verified, thereby leaving the Hope Pregnancy Clinic with no Yelp reviews, rather than a 1-star total showing for the world to see.

To this day, Hope Pregnancy Clinic of Salem, OR shows a total 1-star Yelp review from one reviewer.

For perspective, the Hope Pregnancy Clinic of Salem, OR has the following social media platform reviews:

Chamber of Commerce - 4.5 of 5.0 (45 reviews)

Whirlocal - 4.5 of 5.0 (39 reviews)

Facebook - 5.0 of 5.0 (42 reviews)

Desired outcome: Simple. Yelp should remove the review until it verifies the reviewer. This is not only fair to the non-profit, but it is the ethical thing to do.
