Zale Jewelers / Zales.com horrible experience and service

Purchased a wedding band on July 22nd and brought it in the next day to get it sized to a 5.25. The ring was a size 7 but that's all they had in the store. They said it would take a week to be resized to the 5.25. When the ring came in it was a size 4! Oddly shaped like an oval and obviously all the gold taken from it. Then they said they would have it sent out again but when that came back it was a 5! Unbelievable that they cannot get it right. At this point the manager said she would order a brand new one but would take 4 weeks to come in and it would be perfect. So yesterday they call to say ring is in and is a 5.25 and perfect. Go to pick it up and nope. It's a 5! We are done with Zales they had nothing to say about it and no explanation as to what to do so we got our $50 back they charged to resize and we will have to take it to someone who has a clue

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com online order

I had ordered a Keiser University ring for my Daughter's graduation 6 weeks ago online @ zales. kept checking status online and it had said processing but in stock ? so I finally gave them a call and was told the first time the ring was at the jewelers for engraving this was the 4th week, called again on the 5th week and was told the ring was still in process of engraving but would be shipped to me at the beginning of the following week. Did not receive an e-mail on Mon 09/09/13 so I called Zales on Tues 09/10/13 and was assured My ring would be shipped in the next couple of day . Well I went on my e-mails Yesterday and to my surprise I had 2 e-mails from Zales of cancellation of College ring... so I called Zales and talked to a supervisor . and was told that they had a glitch in the system and they cannot do a ring for Keiser. I said, You could not have told me this like 6 wks ago ? I could have went with another Company. All she did was apologize and state there is nothing she can do... This is very unprofessional out of Zales and the Supervisor. I would not recommend Zales online to anyone... and it was also very hard to talk to someone it is all computerized! I am very upset with this Company and would NEVER order from Zales again. Karen Blankenship

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com horrible repairs

My boyfriend surprised me the week before Valentines by taking me to Zales at our local mall and telling me to pick out a ring from their candy colored gem collection. I was so excited and 100% surprised. I settled for a beautiful sapphire ring. It was a size 7 and was too big. They said she I would be able to pick it up on Feb 20. Well it was done 5 days early! I was so happy. It really is a beautiful ring and I love it. The only blemish on this beautiful surprise is a crack where they resized it! To me this says, "we don't cer about you, your ring or if you spend money here." I'm taking it back today. Depending on the attitude and options I may just ask for a refund. This is not the degree of quality I expected from Zales. Disappointed.

I would say that calling me stupid and lazy for misspelling one word is a bit harsh. In this world full of idiots who cannot spell or use grammar correctly, I believe one overlooked spelling error dies not warrant harassment.
Yes, the crack was where it was soldered. I got a replacement ring after a bit of attitude from the two sales associates. I wont' be going back there when my boyfriend and I get engaged.

Tasha13: Maybe I was using a "smart" phone when I created this post and didn't catch the spelling error? Maybe people don't need to be so rude. My next complaint should be titled, "Rude people on the internet who jump to conclusions and throw fits over a single spelling error." Apparently you have too much free time if you're going to comment three times about one misspelled word. Get a life.
Very_concerned : Yes, the crack was in the band. I could even see a spot of solder on it. They offered to send it back and have it "fixed" properly. I asked for a replacement ring and received that instead. However, the sales associate told me, "Sterling silver is very delicate and the price you paid, this ring is more like costume jewelry." I couldn't believe she said that and then gave me an attitude when I asked for a replacement ring. If it is "costume jewelry" then you shouldn't have any trouble replacing it. But all in all, I walked out with a new ring and hopefully will have no further issues.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com very poor customer service and very miss leading

I purchased a bracelet for my boyfriends birthday. It took over a week for them to send it out even though it said it was located and in stock the whole time! I had paid for over night shipping and it took 3 days after zales "said it was shipped" for me to receive it.. By the time I got the bracelet his birthday was already over.. I called customer service several times and the so called "customer service" reps were very rude and couldn't tell me a thing about why it was taking so long to ship it... I will NEVER EVER buy anything from Zales ever again and I don't recommend anyone else to.. Unless you don't mind waiting forever to receive what you paid for and enjoy talking to rude people..

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com don't shop here

Don't use this site = go to jared. The internet is not reliable and the fact that they advertise customer service is a joke. They do nothing but give you lip service. The internet went down in the middle of my order and I was told by customer service to submit another order because they could not see it, so of course I did. Now, I have two orders. Even though I was given the option to cancel one of them, suprise, the website did not accept the cancellation. When you call customer service there is nothing that they can do either. What a mess. They have now taken my money twice and I have to wait to receive the stupid necklace before I can get my money back for the second order. Merry christmas. I suppose that almost $90 is not a big deal to the people at zales since we now their income is way over the normal person. I filled out their stupid survey... Waste of time. All I received was an email stating the same thing. The customer service people are stupid and cannot help. What a joke. Never spending my money here again. After two months, I am still waiting to get the product so that I can return the stupid thing. Horrible.

I also had poor I'm sorry, no customer service on a order I placed and they sent me the wrong item twice. They assured me with a note to the jeweler that I would get the correct earrings when they placed the order for me the second time. Never again will I but anything from this store. When going to the store in our mall to return the incorrect item they acted like "Oh well" also. Think twice before spending your money here.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com very bad company to shop or work for

Gordon's Jewelers & Zales Jewelry Store- Job Discrimination Mostly Female Managers, who seem to have a problem hiring men to work there, es. black men, and openly discriminates against ANY man that wants to work or shop there, the employees make people feel uncomfortable, and the pressure people to buy from their Jewlery Stores, definately recommend NOT shopping there..

This person has made a complaint on majority of businesses in Augusta. Obviously has issues against mankind period! Racist issues saying Gordons doesn't employ African Americans. That's funny because out of the staff of 7, 4 were black. Two black men and two black females. If a person is not qualified or if the company is not hiring, that does not constitute discrimination. Beware of Josh Donaldson! If you click on his profile, you will see all the businesses he has attacked. Nobody is that miserable!

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com poor service

I have been a jewelry holder from Zales for 11 years now. I have always takes my jewerly in to be checked twice a year. As of recently we have moved to McMurray PA and learned shorty after that the location closest to us had been closed. So we drove to the nearest location. 1 hour later we finally arrived. I even asked Paula the supervisior at the Zales headquartors if something else could be done to help us out. Their answer was to put insurance on it and send it in the mail. Unless we live 3 hours away there is nothing they will do for us. It seems to me that if they have to close down a store because rent is to high, then they would want to do anything they can do to keep those local customers happy. Make note to anyone considering purchasing at Zales. Zales does not care to upkeep a good customer relationship. Don't be stuck with an investment of jewerly that you will not be happy with.

I ordered online, with a promotion for a free necklace. My order shipped the next day, and all but my custom item were shipped together. I open up the box and only saw jewelry box, not two as expected. Ok, mabye the two items were in the same box? I had no idea how the shipment would arrive because I had always purchased from the store.

After looking further, I open an envelope and the order slip to find that the promotional item was no longer available, even though my online tracking said it had shipped.

I called customer service to try and rectify the situation- a store credit, substitute promotional item, partial credit to my account... anything! The only thing they offered me was free return shipping, which won't do my any good on the entire order since part of it is custom and unreterunable anyway.

Definitely wish I hadn't ordered the custom order so I could send everything back and have no regrets. Too late, but they won't see my money again.!

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com repeated repairs on diamond ring

After my mother passed away, i took part of the money she left me and purchased a black diamond ring for my daughter (her only granddaughter). That was a little more than 2 years ago. The ring had a missing diamond in it when we purchased which they replaced when they sized the ring. Several months later, the same diamond fell out...then again a few months after that. Then last November it happened once again. The Zales associate told me they would get it fixed right this time and sent the ring back in for repair. It was gone almost two months. We picked the ring up and a week later the diamond fell out again. I have had it! My daughter loves this ring as it came from her grandmother's money. She wants the ring repaired for good. The male associate at the Legends store was less than hospitable...frankly down right rude...like it was our fault the same diamond kept falling out. He has a nasty attitude and I will never go back and deal with him or Zales again.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com not fair

Hired as p/t zales seasonal help. Was told pay to be $7.25. Per hour. Law states if p/t or seasonal, pay to be minimum wage. Was to be assigned password for computer to recognize my sales. This was done after having to ask 3 times. Before applying, I expressed inability to work a certain day. Received a phone call telling me about the change in my schedule (Which had not yet been posted) making that particular day part of the work week for me. The zales manager who was supposed to be training me was there for 3 hours total, none of the sales made were attributed to me, rather they were given to other staff members.

Include in this zales complaint the chosen way to pay employees…. Either a debit card that does not allow you to pull entire check or a pre-stamped check that needed a transaction number to be used and the employee charged for using said check. It makes no difference if an employee makes $1000. Or $1. They are entitled to receive that amount. Pay stub availability would be a nicity. Zales and peircing pagoda should be ashamed.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com fraud

My fiancee bought me a past, present, future engagement ring about 2 months ago. I noticed that the setting wasn't quite straight so I took the ring in for service. It took 17 days for the repair. After my ring was finally returned, I cleaned it and noticed a huge black carbon spot in the center stone which was not there when my fiancee proposed. I showed it to him and he was pretty upset since the salesman who helped him pick out the ring was oozing over how great the clarity was. We went to Zales with the guarantee and the ring and asked to speak to the salesman and manager. Both were not there at the time. We were told they would be in three days later. We are supposed to back tonight and when we do, we just want a refund and will take our business elsewhere. I am fed up with poor quality and lying.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com shipping delays

I ordered a ring and 2 other items on Monday 12/12/10 online at Zales. All items were listed as available and guaranteed by Christmas. I stated that I had to have the ring by Christmas for my wedding anniversary. During the checkout, nothing indicated that some items were excluded and they don’t charge your card until it ships. With only a week till Christmas, I had no choice but to select another item from Zales. Today 12/21/10, I get an email showing the order was shipped 3 days later and you guessed it. It was not sent as overnight service, and I will not get it by Christmas. This has been a frustrating experience and I will never purchase from Zales again.

Your not alone I ordered a engagement ring for my fiancee on 11/15/2011. I called 11/18/2011 to inquire on the status as it says item located in stock. Was told that it was with a custom jewler being sized and should ship in the next few days. But may not get to me till the 30th due to thanks giving and would be shipped next day. well here it is 11/26/2011 and still showing located in stock and the 30th is 4 days away. The order wont even show up under my account the only way to check the status is to click on order status with out loging in. I will be calling again on 11/28/2011 in the afternoon if it dose say say shipped and see why it has yet to ship and if I dont get a good answer I will be demanding some sort of discount or tell them to cancle and I will go else where. I will be doing this as this was taken right from thier site ""What could delay my order?
Zales.com is committed to protecting our customer's personal and financial information from being used in a fraudulent manner. We take many precautions in verifying the security and privacy of all orders. For this reason, most items take a minimum of 1 to 2 full business days before being approved for shipment. Orders requiring non-standard ring sizing take up to 2 additional days to complete.
Once your item has left our distribution center, the shipping method you select during checkout will determine when your order will arrive.""

So from what I read even with sizing it should only take up to 4 days not over 4 days.

I will update with more info of what I find out and do after I call monday

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com unauthorized promo fees

My husband purchased earring for our anniversary. He used his zales card as they offered 0% interest for 12 months. What they failed to mention was that there as a 9.95 fee for selecting this promotion. Are you kidding? When we contacted customer service via the website to reverse the charge, they stated he was informed at the time of purchase and it's on the back of the receipt. A.) he as not informed B.) no one reads the back of a reciept. It's hardly legible and always a bunch of jibberish. Via the secure website, I have requested the name of a manager at the corporate office, but keep getting the 800 number to customer service. I don't have time to waste with these people! I would say beware of these hidden charges and take your business to a company that offers better quality for both merchandise and customer service/sales.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com never buy from them

I am so livid right now! I have never, ever had a worse experience retail shopping for anything, much less expensive jewelry in my life.

My best friend bought me a beautiful pink saphire ring for Valentines Day. I saw it online and she wanted to get it for me. She had to go to 3 Zales stores before she found one...and unfortunately she ended up at the Zales in Gwinnett Place Mall.

When she went in, she told me she was pretty much ignored for a while. Finally someone decided to help her. The sales person was very pushy with her about the protection plan. She sold her the plan, telling her it was $39.99. Ashley told her she wanted to think about it.

We decided to get the plan, because it included free sizing and I needed to get it sized up to fit, because they only size they had in stock was a 7. We went back to get the plan and get it sized. The man that helped us the second time was obviously new. But we decided to discuss the plan with him and then purchase it. He told us the plan was $29.99. Wait...the lady the first time told her it was $39.99. He told us the extra $10 is an OPTIONAL theft protection plan. The first lady made no mention of it being separate...she tried to up sale Ashley without her knowledge! What a crook!

Then he was doing all the paperwork...took him forever and he had to keep calling over another sales person to help him. We stood and waited for all this for over 45 minutes. He asked me what size I needed the ring sized up to...I told him I didn't know, I would need to be sized. He brought the ring sizers over to me and just handed them to me! I had to size myself!

Finally, it was all done and he told us my ring would be ready in a week. Wait a minute...a week!? I've had 2 rings sized at Jarred and they were done in 2-4 HOURS!

Oh well, it's worth the wait...right?

Well, wait is the right word. We got a call yesterday late afternoon that my ring was ready. So Ash went this morning to pick it up. The store opens at 10am. Ashley got there a minute or 2 early. No one was there. Another employee was there waiting. Nobody. 10am passes...10:30...11:00...11:38 someone finally shows up. 1 hour and 40 minutes LATE. Now Ashley had to wait for them to open the store, count the registers and bring all the jewelry out.

FINALLY...2 hours later...Ashley finally gets my ring. I wasn't even the one waiting and I have never been so infuriated! What a way to treat your customers! I don't care if its Neiman Marcus or the Dollar Tree! Its ridiculous! Especially when they have your property that you have already paid for and you are coming to pick up. What insanity.

Not to mention, after waiting an hour...Ashely called Zales customer service number and the girl on the phone treated her so rude and wouldn't even help her contact a supervisor or anything.

NEVER EVER buy anything at Zales. Terrible.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com salesperson lied to me

I visit zales around the end of february 2011 looking to up grade my wedding set after 22 years of marriage lol. Well I pick a ring, While looking at the ring in the store I saw a black dot dead center. I asked the salesperson what was it she said it was just a diamond birth mark.

I told her that I didn't want that ring. She told me this is not the ring you would be getting since we are putting in a special order in yellow gold. So I asked her well if this diamond look like this, I dont want to purchase a ring I can't see ahead of time. She assured me I would get a better diamond. One month later the ring comes in and whats in the center a black dot uhm. I cancel the ring and went to a local jeweler.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com should be called gold plated

I bought what was suppose to be 14k gold rings and necklaces at a very good price. With gold at $1500.00 an ounce I decided to sell them. When they melted them down. Instead of having between .54 to .58 pecent gold they were at .29 percent. That is half the percentage they are suppose to be. Keep in mind when you buy a ring there you are only getting half the gold you are paying for. Take it and have it xrayed to see if it is real. Zales is a thief in my book. I will NEVER do business with them again.

Hello to you my name's James, and i'm a REAL ATLANTA ONLINE PERSONAL JEWELER. I don't know what style of ring your husband purchased from ZALES FOR $6500.00 but there's no way in hell it should have broken over 4 times since you've had it.

You should have posted photos of your husband's ring here for others on this site to review, and what i'd like to know is what metal is this ring made of? and i'd also like to know what does your husband do to cause this situation to happen to his ring? is your husband hard on his jewelry?

If you need my assistance in getting a much better ring for your husband feel free to contact me. I would also suggest for your husband the metal PALLADIUM because it is a member of the PLATINUM FAMILY and it's much more affordable than PLATINUM but it gives you all of the benefits of wearing PLATINUM.

I can have another ring made for your husband in PALLADIUM if you'd like this done. Just feel free to contact me should you need my services.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com lies on channel band

Where should I start? I have been lied to since 12/24 when I ordered a channel diamond 1 carat band. I am thanking god I never turned my original wedding band since they have no idea when I will ever get it. I was told it would be 1 to 2 weeks on 12/24/10 but I called on 1/14/11 after calling for weeks when will it be ready to be talked down to by a sales associate (Dennis) at Galleria Mall Fort Lauderdale, FL. I called corporate and spoke with a Tonya on 1/14/11 after I was talked down to by the associate to be told by corporate that the ring will take 6 to 8 weeks not 1 to 2 which again is a LIE to make a sale on 12/24/10. Now I have never had an incident b4 in the past with Zales and we have spent alot of money with them to be shocked by their response is be patient and wait another 5 weeks. Ok so I am waiting and I am in week 7 with no update on the ring until my husband walked into Zales on 2/9/11 to be told the ring they THINK is in India. I have called on 2/7, 2/8, and 2/9 all being told that the district manager will call me since 2/7 which still has NEVER happened as of today 2/10/11. I am so done with them and will never purchase another item from them and hate to think that I have to wear this one. I still have no updates since 1/14/11 and as of today which is insane. I could have gone anywhere and spent my money and wished I had thought twice because they better not pull a scam on me and size down a 7 to a 4.5 or I will freak. I have been LIED to for months and I am tired of it, this was supposed to be a anniversary/Christmas gift which I don't want anymore. I hung up on corporate because the woman there was aggravated because I wanted an update and of course they don't have one because they have no idea when or if I will ever get this ring. If there is a pc of advice I can give anyone out there who are thinking about buying anything go to Jared/Mayor's, JR DUNN and save yourself the headache because Zales is going down like a bunch of clowns. If the store you choose has liars in it and offers and outlet stores think twice its just really not worth the aggravation. (1) THEY LIE TO MAKE THE SALE, (2) THEY LOVE TO TAKE MONEY FROM YOU WITHOUT ANY PROMISE OF AN UPDATE, and (3) THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU THE CUSTOMER OR VALUE YOU. As far as if I have the ring that would be a NO and I still have no idea when I will get it so I can't say there is any happy ending.

Zale Jewelers / Zales.com jewelers steal your valuables

I took a bracelet to ZALES to repair, the last three chains were broken off.

They said it will cost $24.99, measured it, estimated a $500 value and gave me a receipt.

A week later I got a call from a gentlemen called Glenn (not the same person who took the bracelet from me)

and he said they have to put an endcap on it and it costs $89.99.

I was really puzzled because it had an endcap on it, at the end of the three broken off chains.

I told him about this which made him confused and seemed he wanted to hide something and just

went with whatever I said, and told me he will call the jewelers and let them know.

This whole story makes me really uncomfortable because they probably lost the end of the bracelet

just don't want to tell me. They may pay the insured value of $500 but I assume the bracelet

worth more than that and this is a really convenient way for ZALES to make money.

I will keep you posted but at this point it's sure I will never ever take anything to ZALES.
