Desired resolution: Better customer care for future patients
My kids have been going to Six-Day Dental on their father's insurance for years. I had a bad feeling when my ex-husband was told our kids would need braces on their baby teeth, but didn't protest since he agreed and was covering the cost. Of course when their adult teeth came in, all three needed a second round of braces; I feel this is just one way the company routinely scams its customers.
Recently I had my first interaction with Six-Day Dental, when I took my daughter to have her wisdom teeth removed. We waited nearly an hour, with no one coming back to check on us and my daughter growing more anxious by the minute. It seemed they were very busy and might be rushed, so I went to the front to see about rescheduling. Finally, the doctor made an appearance at the front counter. I said my child was becoming very nervous, and he dismissed me with "She'll be ok. She'll be just fine."
Following the procedure, a technician wheeled out my daughter, who was of course still groggy from the anesthesia. As the front office worker rushed me through questions about after-care, I noticed my daughter was no longer in the building. The tech had already wheeled her outside and was headed down the ramp, accompanied by a 14-year-old friend who'd come along for moral support. I was shocked and exclaimed, "They're taking her outside? Don't they know I have the car keys?" To this, the person at the counter said rudely, "You'd better hurry!"
We never received the promised phone call from the doctor checking up on my kiddo post-surgery, and the pain meds that were supposedly called in at 3 weren't ready until nearly 9 p.m. Perhaps this was an oversight at the pharmacy but given our experience thus far, I wouldn't be surprised if it was called in late.
When I compare the care and compassion I am shown at my own dentist, Archstone Dental in Fort Worth, with the brisk, hurried, rude way the employees at Six-Day treated a 14-year-old girl and her reasonably concerned mom, I cannot believe this company is primarily in the business of treating children.
I relayed our experience to my ex-husband, who says he's finished with Six-Day. He will now be taking my daughter to his own dentist. It's unfortunate he didn't come to this decision before being gouged for six pairs of braces.
Improper Billing
We recently had a consultation for my daughter. After initial consultation they made us sign up for $3000 treatment plan. The Doctor agreed to consult with peers before starting the treatment and informed us that there could be other alternatives for a young child. Wonder how they came with an cost for treatment with out knowing how they will be treating. We agreed, and the office was supposed to call us for next consultation in a week. Weeks went by and we did not hear from them. In the meantime they started billing for treatment without starting any treatment. We called and asked for clarification, they indicated it is part of treatment costs. Despite our requests to stop billing us until the treatment starts, they refused and kept pointing to the paperwork we were made to sign during first consultation. We insisted on a meeting with Doctor for the 2nd visit to discuss our options. They gave an appointment but in an inconvenient time and made it as though we have need to see the Doc on that day as a matter of urgency. This is after a month and we initiated the call since we did not hear from the office. In the second visit the Doc explained the option and indicated we could start the treatment. The irony is so far no treatment and the office was planning to bill us for the 2nd month. When we asked for them to stop billing they refused and pointed to the contract and CC info we gave at the beginning of the consultation. After further discussion, the office mgr agreed to bill for services up to that point and cancel future CC billing. Again for the record no treatment has started till now.
If we had not called them they would keep billing us for services they did not provide. Office visit experience was poor. It was like an assembly line. We waited for 45 min past our appointment time and no one bothered to let us know if we will see the Doc. In the mean time people who came later than us were being called in for further consultation. Frequently we saw new Doc's in the dental and Ortho office. It appears they have problem retaining good Doc's.
Poor service and attitude from office staff. I would not recommend this dental office. The Doc was very nice person. Called us personally apologized for inconvenience. He is sincere and caring, I don't think much of the office and professionalism of 6 day dental in Flower Mound, TX

A similar thing happened with me, but with my daughter's braces. We paid the contract in full before we started so we could save some money. We were told that we wouldn't have to make anymore payments and we were able to just walk in and walk out. One day, my daughter goes to check in to the office for her appointment and the lady refused to let her in because we had "payments" even though we had already covered everything. She didn't get her monthly adjustment because she didn't have the money to pay. That was wrong on their part. I went there the next day and the accountants were very rude. I was shocked, I felt as if i was at a retail store after a long Black Friday sales day. It was not a good experience.
If i hadn't signed a contract saying that we are committed, I would have switched long ago. My other daughters (don't have braces) also had cleaning there but i thoughtlessly switched to another dentist after being there for 2 years.

Horrible Customer Services and Rip-Offs
6 Day Dental and Orthodontics is the worth place to get your braces done and even for a mere cleaning. The employees are rude and the company is only driven by money. They do not care about their customers only about the money they want to get from you. SO BEWARE! Make sure you visit other places and let 6 Day be your last resort so you do not end up regretting like i am right now. Ever since i started my treatment, I have being unhappy with this company. They drag their feet, they do not give you information about your treatment; they stare rudely at you when you come in for your appointment, when you ask a question, no one ever has an answer except you are giving them your credit/ debit card to swipe. At that point they will have a big smile on their faces and gladly tell you were to sign. DAWN, the supposed manager who I have spoken to at the Coppell and Flower Mound branches is the worst of all her employees. I asked her for the record of my treatment and she said " I will have it for you in 10 days only at the Coppell branch and I will not stress myself to get it available for you before then and even though, there is no assurance that your records will be available after 10 days. You have to call me to find out if it is available" - Her exact words. I paid for the services but she can not stress herself to provide me with my records. Interesting! Corrine another employee at 6 day who i spoke to at the Flower Mound branch, could not answer my question instead she said " I will have my manager call you back" and before I could respond, she hung up on me. There have been more instances of rudeness and greed shown by this company than I can put down on paper. If i finally get around to putting it down on paper, I would be the best selling author for the Book titled " 6 DAY DENTAL AND ORTHODONTICS - THE GREEDIEST & RUDEST DENTAL AND ORTHODONTIC PRACTICE IN THE STATE OF TEXAS. CUSTOMERS BEWARE! They never want to bill your insurance company but rather bill you first and then bill your insurance and later reimbursements months later. A tale thievery. They are never upfront with you about costs until a day before your appointment or on the day of your appointment. Again, I stress beware of the company. So many mistakes have been made during my treatment, the doctor leaves the placement of the wires and power chain in the hands of the assistants, which is fine BUT he never ever checks to ensure they placed them correctly. When I return a month later for my appointment, I am usually told at that point that the assistants made an error. *Shaking my head* What a company!

OMG! Thanks for this review, I was thinking about getting braces with 6 day even made an appointment! I guess I will try Greg Greenberg Orthodontist
Underhanded/Unprofessional
I have had a credit balance for two months. Lets just say the run around is endless. It is almost like a bunch of 10 years olds running a dental company. My last six month chekup required dental xrays. Only half were taken because she had a long day and was tired. A shock the insurance company was billed the full amount! I would not refer this Dental company to anyone with common sense. If they cut corners like this what elese do they do? Still have not received my money yet, do not expect a refund. When they go to put a dental tool in your mouth...Think about it.

Same experience! I've been having problems with my crown since they put it in over a year ago. They billed my insurance company for fraudulent services...They continiue to presnt charges to my debit card for a balance that was already paid and OVERPAID by both my insurances (til this day). After placing a stop-pay on my account over a year ago, they decided to get a little clever and presented the same charges witha different description to my bank. My bank surprisingly allowed the charge to go through! When I called my bank they were apologetic and placed another stop-pay. They aren't sure if the stop-pay was placed earlier enough to stop the payment from going through (crrently in processing mode). In the event it goes completely through, my bank will file a refund claim. I'm not sure how they'll do that when this crooked company don't have a billing office address nor do they answer any calls. I'm really at the end of my rope with them... Can anyone recommend an EXCELLENT attorney!
Lies and lack of responses
This company is a joke, they told us we would be covered under both insurances and it would be filed quarterly. Of course the time came the girl that gave us the write up was wrong and she no longer works there. I have left at least 3 messages for their accounting person, and she still does not call back. Once they have your money you're screwed. The Ortho side can't help the dental side, they rarely answer the phones, if they do it's normally something like. "please call the other office" "ortho is not in today" " can I leave a message and have them call you" etc.
Absolutely the WORST dental experience. By the way we are a family of 7 for them to treat a family of 7 one of which is in full braces this poorly lets you realize they don't care about customer service or retaining business. They are the dental equivalent of a puppy mill only concerned about the dollar not health or happiness. Check the BBB report, over 24 complaints about them. That should tell you something!

these quacks caused me to loose my tooth and I filed a complaint with the Texas State Board of Dental examiners and their lame dentist was sanctioned, however that no where near covers the expenses I have been out replacing my tooth they distroyed with their careless, wreckless business practices. I wouldnt take a toothless homeless person to them if they were offering free dentures for life. This is the only tooth I am now missing thanks to their substantand quality of care. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR TEETH IN TACT!
Inferior Quality at High Prices
Went into the office with a cavity. The dentist drilled for a while and then said she couldn't fill the tooth it had to have a root canal. No choice sitting in the chair with a drilled out tooth. they don't put on crowns there, they use an "onlay" which looked awful. 4 visits and the cost was over $2, 000. Within 6 months the tooth was hurting again had to have a re-root canal because 6 day dental did not put enough material to the end of the roots, another $1100 at the endodontist. Within another 6 months the wretched "onlay" cracked and peeled. Went to a reputable dentist and had a real crown, another $1, 000.00. I have sent letters and emails to the Six Day Dental Office as well as to their founder and no one has ever responded.

Used car sales of Dental offices
Hold on to your wallet when you step into this office. I know all dental work is expensive, but these clowns are really trying to set some records. I do not know where to start my complaint with these guys, I have so many!
My wife and I chose this Dental Office because they were supposed to have a great play room for kids? Well this consisted of a couple of old 80's arcade games. All the high scores on the games were from staff members?
Ok, my wife and I needed our teeth cleaned, they took all the ex-rays first, then had a doctor look at our teeth so twenty minutes in this office and we need to all go to the "consultation office". Now in the consultation office we are told that our teeth cleaning will be $450.00 for the both of us and insurance will cover $120.00. My wife has a large cavity that will require a crown and a possible root canal, And all my fillings in my mouth will need to be removed and replaced as they are old! The funny part is my wife nor I did not have any pain or problems with our teeth. So now we are told that she needs a crown for her one cavity and a possible root canal 1100.00-2200.00 and to start removing and replacing my fillings would be somewhere around 1000.00 to get started. They spent so much time on this consultation shuck and jive game that we did not even have time to start our teeth cleaning, which was the sole purpose of coming to their used car lot. Well we decided to do the cleaning just because we did not want to find another office and they had already taken all the ex-rays that our insurance would cover. That's their first scam as they new this extended teeth cleaning price before they took these exrays and they knew they were going to require this type of cleaning and I say require because there is no negotiation with these clowns. Anyway, the major flaw in their scheme was they just left this cavity hole in my wifes rear molar with no temporary filling or temporary crown, nothing for 4-5 weeks between our extensive teeth cleanings. Granted it was not hurting her but it was a large hole that supposedly needed a crown/ build-up and a possible root canal. So, I was at this point just in disbelief and after our last teeth cleaning appointment 6 weeks later I asked how my wifes tooth looked and they told us it was broken? And if not fixed real quick it would be and emergency root canal. Anyway, here is the real interesting part. I am worried about my wife's broken tooth that needs a crown and root canal. So, the next day I went to another dentist for second opinion. He looked at her tooth, did an exam, ex-ray and put in a filling all in about an hour with no consultation! So what is a 100 dollar filling with one dentist is a [protected] dollar crown/root canal with 6-Day Dental. They will not get another dollar of my business, try them at your own risk. I think part of the problem is my wife and I have a decent insurance policy that covers $4000.00 per person a year. So from their first estimates they wanted to get half of that in the first six months and save the other half for whatever they could trump-up in the latter part of the year. Just my two cents, I am sure some people are really happy with 6-Day. But their office sure is always empty, with 5 times the staff to patient ratio, which I am sure why they feel the need and pressure to fleece every warm body that comes throught the doors.

6 Day is a bunch thieves. I am 29 years old and had one dentist my entire life until I made the mistake of visiting Six Day approximately three years ago. I went in for a cleaning and was told I needed a root canal. They had a sales person, not even the dentist, explain this to me and pressure me into doing the root canal that day for $2, 000.00 + (no insurance). I was fortunate enough at that point o have never had to pay for past serious dental work, so I had no idea whether this was a reasonable price. I reluctantly agreed. The root canal was done without a problem, but upon completion I was told I had five more cavities that would cost over $3, 000.00 to fill. At this point, my antenna went up and I resisted the used car salesman trying to convince me to do the service the same day. I went back to my lifelong dentist and family friend for a second opinion. He informed me I had no cavities. It has three years since my root canal and I have not had a single cavity since. I seriously doubt I needed a root canal. I am attorney (Texas State Bar Number [protected]) and would like organize a class action lawsuit against 6 Day. If you are interested, my email is hmassey@loveinlaw.com.

Awful company
I went to 6 day dental in Flower Mound Texas to get my teeth cleaned and a crown re-glued. I was told I needed a root canal on the tooth that needed the crown reglued. I agreed to their fees and they did the root canal. My temp crown is nothing but a flat surface that doesnt even resemble a tooth or serve as a tooth. When leaving I paid 700.00 of 1100.00 bill (out of network ) on my insurance but I felt it was worth it because they were open on Saturday. I was told by their office manager, "you will pay the balance when you return or we will not put your permanent crown on". I refused to write post dated checks for the balance and this angered them. Then when I told them dental work shouldnt cost so much the office manager told me "you will pay the balance when you return or further collection effors will be taken against you". I didnt have a problem paying my balance when the work was completed or right before they complete the work. I had a problem in writing post dated checks and refused to do it. Demanding payment in full for unfinished work is outrageous. then I wrote an email to their corporate office to be ignored. AVOID this place! unless you have money to burn and love being disrespected. Have these people ever heard the expression "Dont shake the tree till all the apples have fallen"... Needless to say any additional work they claimed I needed will NOT be completed by them. I had co workers warn me about their bad experience with 6 day dental (at another location in Coppell) but decided to give them the benefit of doubt. I was honestly impressed with them and planned to return for additional services till the ridiculous encounter with the office manager changed my perspective entirely.

My orthodontist moved to 6 day dental in Flower Mound. I am now horrified to go to 6 day dental due to all the horrible nightmare complaints above! Not to mention a dentist there was arrested a while back for sexually assaulting a patient.
My wife went in to have her teeth cleaning done at the Roanoke office. They told her she needs a crown and given her an estimate for about $2, 000 and they wanted to perform that same day. Out of pocket would be about $1, 700. She told them she would get back with them. We printed out our insurance coverage and we have 50% coverage. On some of the charges, they have insurance paying like 20%. We confronted them and they said they don't know anything about it. That's what their computer shows. WOW..What a rip off.
RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THEM...

6 Day Dental & Orthodontics
Six day dental in Allen is the worst one I have been. They not only did the ### job, missed couple of cavities. When I tried calling them up questioned their practice, receiptionist acting like they have to attend other customers and hung up. Very rude people. I will be complaining to BBB and Insurance on them.
We were told by the Flower Mound office my son would need several cavities in a molar filled. They said the cavities were on 3 sides of the tooth and it'd be $400 plus dollars. Had to set with a high pressure sales guy forever.
Turns out after going to another dentist due to the creepy feeling I had about these dentists that my son has 0 cavities. This is after 6 months when I finally had the money to do something about it. If there was a start of a cavity - six months later - the cavity would be visible - this place is a rip off and I feel for all the little kids who's parents didn't act on their feeling that something was wrong & had unnecessary work done on their kids.
Visiting the orthodontist today - they told me even more stories from their patients and that they hear them all the time about 6 day - OMG - stay away & tell everyone you know.
They have been disciplined by the Dental board & they are still harming people, ripping them off & getting richer every day. Warn everyone you know and put it on Facebook and twitter. Seach: rip off 6 day dental and put all those links on your facebook & this one too.
I agree they are a total scam. I moved to Texas from Louisiana and was looking for a dentist to get my regular cleaning. They did x rays and told me I had 12 cavities! I was in total shock and was super depressed. They told my wife she also needed a lot of work, she was in tears. They estimated the cost in the thousands. I became suspicious because I have always had good teeth and regular check ups. So I called them up and had them send my x rays to my old dentist back home so he could review them. My dentist (who I've been going to for 20+ years and I trust) told me the x rays were terrible and he couldn't tell anything from them! I was so relieved! Well, that was six years ago and I can assure you I did not have a single cavity that day I went to Six Day Dental, neither did my wife! It makes me sick to thing they could have scammed me out of thousands of dollars and permanently altered my teeth. Please avoid this company like the plauge, I hope one day they are exposed for who they really are.
6 Day Dental and Orthodontics is the worst place to get your braces done and even for cleaning. The employees are rude and the company is only driven by money. They do not care about their customers only about the money they want to get from you. SO BEWARE!
If i finally get around to putting it on paper, I would be the best selling author for the Book titled " 6 DAY DENTAL AND ORTHODONTICS - THE GREEDIEST & RUDEST DENTAL AND ORTHODONTIC PRACTICE IN THE STATE OF TEXAS. CUSTOMERS BEWARE! They never want to bill your insurance company but rather bill you first and then bill your insurance and reimburse you months, months later. A tale thievery.
They are never upfront with you about costs until a day before your appointment or on the day of your appointment so that you don't have enough time to change your mind. When I return a month later for my appointment, I am usually told at that point that the assistants made an error. *Shaking my head* What a company!
Crappy ### Company. I regret going here. Greg Greenberg orthodontist is a better place to visit. Fun and lively employees. My sister got her braces done here and I should have listened to her to get mine done at Greg Greenberg orthodontist as well. I regret choosing 6 day. Disrespectful employees. Dawn the manager should be fired as long with the chicks she raises at that stupid farm of theirs
I completely diagree with what I am reading. I have been in the dental profession for 25 years and what I can say about 6day dental, is that they are conservative in that they like the patient to know up front what kind of problems are down the line. They believe in proactive care not reactive care. Attending to problems before they become emergencies. A lot of offices will not tell you all that could happen, but only wait until the patient has no other choice because teeth have broken down so badly that they can not be saved. I would reather know what might/or will happen by doing nothing right now and give me the choice to decide if I want to take the choice. I love the approach the 6 day dentists take. Tell me what is going on and give me the option to choose. If I was deveopling cancer, I would much rather the doctors tell me early on that I was "developing" cancer than to wait until it was diagnosised as "fatal"
I cant belive people go to them. There prices are way to high and the staff was not good at all. They did not tell me anything just kept having different people come in to see me and then said i needed all kinds of work done. What they wanted to charge me for a root canal with insurance is about 200 more then 4 other dentist wanted to charge me with out insurance. Why would people go a place that tons of people are saying charges too much. The staff was no better i have no idea who my dentist was he just came in and said "open please" . Then said he wanted to try to save my teeth but i would prolly have to have them taken out and my teeth are not that bad.
