I received my Visa statement today and there is a charge for $44.85. I did NOT order this and I will not pay it. I was to be charged only for the shipping cost of $4.95 for a FREE sample of Acaipure. Today is 12/4/08 at 3:55 pm.
I have tried to call and am on HOLD for over an hour. This charge will not be accepted. What kind of scam are you into? I want a credit to my Visa and a confirmation of that credit by mail and I will not wait--I want that credit to my account now and the confirmation now. I simply will not put up with this. If you have been scammed by this company, you should contact the Attorney General of your State... immediately, and lodge a formal complaint. There may be others in your state who have already done so. Your AG may already be conducting a formal investigation into this matter. The Attorney General of your state will inform you how to register your complaint and how follow up on it. DON'T LET THIS SCAM GO UNCHECKED!

I am logging onto Oprah's website today and asking her staff if they can look into this scam for us all. I do believe she is not aware that this company is using her name for their benefit in getting people to trust THEM! If anyone can get through to this scandalous company I'm sure they CAN! I've been trying for almost a month to call and e-mail them. They are unreachable. Don't blame Oprah for this mess. Help is on the way!

Yes, "Central Coast Nutraceuticals" or "Acaipure" is completely a scam. I also responded to the '4.95' offer for Acaipure, and received Hoodiaburst gum and hoodiawater, which I had not ordered, as well, for a charge of $44.85. I called the company, spent a long time in voice menu and voice loops, finally talked to an incredibly rude person who must hear such reports all day. Finally talked to a manager, who told me that if I did not return the product, he would credit my credit card $20. A little over a month later, I find out that he credited my card 20 cents! I hardly use the card so hadn't opened the bill, but recieved a mysterious package from "Fulfillment Center" in Largo, FL. Not knowing what it was, I opened it, to find that they had sent me ANOTHER bottle of Acaipure and charged me an additional $44.90. When I called my credit card company, I found that they had charged me not only the original $44.85, but an additional $39.95 for a package I never recieved, plus this most recent order of $44.90, and had only credited my account 20 cents, instead of the promised $20!
This looks to me like a good class action suit, if anyone knows anything about that--

I responded to an on-line offer through Borders to try the produce for about $4 shipping. I have not received anything but have been charged $44.85 as an American Express charge. I plan to dispute the charge. Jean McKelvey

This is one of those "Gotcha" companies that I've always tried to avoid but they "gotme" this time. When I pushed the "submit" button to order all I saw was $4.95 shipping to be charged to my credit card. Days later I received a sales receipt from Acaipure for the $44.85 eye opener. My next step is to cancel any automatic re-orders that may be lurking in their computers. Shame on me if it happens twice.

I had the same thing happen. I then couldn't reach them by phone, nor did I get a response to e-mail I sent. I noticed the pending charge of $44+ the day of that I placed my order and was still not able to cancel or reach anyone before it came to me in the mail 2-3 weeks later. In checking the web site again, the way they get you is on the checkout page for your "free sample". They have two other products off to the side with the "yes, please send me" box already checked. These totaled $39.95 and if you don't notice it and uncheck the boxes, they send and charge you for it.

I, as well have been a victim of this so called "free trial product". Like most of you, I placed an online order for actually 3 different types of the Acai Berry juice & tablets for the "low cost of only $4.95 for shipping and handling". Being the trusting kind, I waited and waited for my samples to arrive. More than 7 weeks passed and nothing ever came. I even questioned my neighbors to see if UPS or another delivery company had possibly dropped them off and they were "picked up" by an unknown. I started seeing charges on my bank statement of $4.95, then it jumped to $74.95. The total of my stupidity was $249.95 not to mention the charges that hit my account when it went over. Thankfully I printed off everything I could find online, and even recorded the times I placed an unanswered call to this "company", I took it to my bank and they are disputing all of the charges for me. Good luck, I pray we all get our money back, and this company is held responsible for any & all fraud they have committed.

I was also charged 44.85 on my credit card for ordering the trial offer. I did receive the gum and another product, which I sent back. They also charged me again and never received anything.
I disputed all charges on my creditcard.
No one answers the phone when I call, I have been trying for weeks.

I responded to a free trial offer of AcaiPure pay S&H only $4.95. My credit card was charged $44.85 for that AcaiPure trial. When I called the company the Customer "NO" Service person informed me that the site CLEARLY states that an additional offer was attached. I totally disagree with how CLEARLY that notice is/was and I have not been able to access the original page unless I provide my credit card information again. If you are reading this you probably have already been a victim. If you are researching the company prior to ordering a product "DON'T DO IT" stay away. If these people have to resort to underhanded methods of marketing, the product must not perform as advertised. My advice, stay clear from Acaipure and their tactics.

Oh I too am nieve. I have been scammed. I saw Oprah's name and said to myself "well if this is endorsed by Oprah it must be ok" What an idiot! I am sure anyone's name can be used to scam people. I am sending the unopened items back. and canceling my card. I have tried this product it does not work. My account was credited 44.85. I am so mad at myself. I have sent email. I have called the toll free number and no answer. I will try again. Hey does Oprah know that her name is being used for a scam? Should we get in touch with her?

I answered the ad for a trial preriod of 30 days for $4.95 shipping and handling. Before time was up I started calling their customer service number to cancel with no luck. I checked my account and found that it was debited $4.95 plus $39.95 and an additional $44.90 before the 30 day trial period was up. It has come to the point that I had to cancel my card and have paid additional fees for a replacement card.

Well I see I wasn't the first nor will I be the last, I fear. I also ordered just one trial item and was billed for two more, for a total of $44.85. They then have the audacity to state that there is a restocking fee of 15% on all returned items and that you are required to obtain a return merchandise authorization number, which is impossible because you can't reach them. OK, folks - so where do we go from here and how can we stop this scam? Would appreciate any suggestions. I'm going to notify the Better Business Bureau (if there is one) in Largo, Fl to begin with.

Please get your banks on line an block any further transactions from them getting in to your accounts! what a rip off. just on theses few e-mails i have read they are raking in the money AT OUR EXPENSE. There are several 100 web pages of the same thing with this same company!. Has anyone even got the product? I never did

I ordered the free sample product with the $4.95 s&h and cancelled any future deliveries within 10 days of receiving the sample. I could not reach anyone at the phone number, so I emailed them with a notification request for when they had opened it. I received back notification that their server would not emails requesting notification. Therefore, I sent another email and demanded that they responded whenthey had received my cancellation or I would be my Attorney General. I did receive a response confirming my cancellation, but 20 days later I have a charge on my credit card for $39.95. It seems that their charges are all over the place with no set amount and they do not just go by the free samples or take into account the cancellations. I think it should be brought to Oprah's attention because I have received no benefit from the pills and I'm not even sure that she truly endorsed them.

Same as all other who is complaining, I stopped my Credit Card hope I don't get billed. I'm wondering if the products is real or is it fake? I ordered the trial and they sent me two other products that I didn't asked for and my credit is suppose to be billed 41.00.

I also ordered a trial bottle and they took 39.95 out of my checking acct.. I called my bank and they are doing an investigation on this .. they said it is a very well know scam.. so if you have any problems contact your bank. They also cancelled my debit card so no more money can be taken out of my account.. If they prove it to be a scam which the lady said they had other complaints about this product as well..the bank will credit me back the money I l0st and also the overdraft charges i incurred from this.. good luck to all of you.. live and learn.. god bless..

This company offers a free trial offer for shipping on for $3.95. You have 14 days to return the product otherwise you will be charge $44.90. I never received the free trial and saw the charges showing up on my statement. Spent 2 hours trying to get in contact with someone who them said that the product had been mailed and must have been stolen out of my mailbox. I am still waiting for the charges to be removed.

I did not order ANY products but received a package in the mail of AcaiPure, hoodia gum and water and my credit card was changed 44.85. I have no reason to order a weight loss product and didn't. I have no idea how they got my credit card number. This reaches beyond the other complaints I read. They are now stealing credit card numbers as well as scamming the public. I tried to call and the one number said due to a high volume of calls it could not take mine and the other number was disconnected. I wrote to the company and got an answer back that totally disregarded my claim that I never ordered their product and never would want it because I don't have a weight problem. These folks are criminals.

I just got off the phone with my credit card company. I too received a bill for 44.85 instead of 4.95. When I called the company, I was told that I was wrong--that the web site did not say the product was free. I thought, "well maybe I'm wrong" so I went home and filled everything out again to the point of submission and sure enough, it said the cost of the trial was zero and the shipping was 4.95. I too thought that with Oprah's name attached, this must be reliable. I won't be so gullible a second time.

I wrote yesterday, Yes I was charged $41.85. If you Look at all the people who just got got we are making these people richer, Maybe we should try to reach Oprah since they are using her face on the Ad. I know she's not aware of this matter it is something we all can do we need to get together through emails and try to put an end to this, So many more people will order and 10 people will make these people $450.00 or more just within an hour. We need to stop these people.

Ordered a free sample and received product and charged $44.95. Many, many calls to company and never got through- sent emailed to company and explained I only wanted the free products and I wanted to return product and for them to credit my account. Cost me $9.00 for shipping with confirmed signature. The orignal bill was 44.95 then instead of refunding me the money they charged my account for another 39.95.

It has cost me so far $93.90 for a item I never ordered - on top of that I now have bank charges. This website should not be allowed to do any future business.
