Terrible customer service
I was given a gift voucher for my Birthday in mid August 2016. I decided to use my voucher at the beginning of December but saw the voucher had already expired. I emailed the customer services who asked for the voucher code & proof of purchase. I responded saying it was a gift but gave them the code & got a reply saying sorry the voucher was void & nothing could be done. Keep well away terrible customer service.
Voucher
It definitely could be a scam. I've been mulling over how to spend my voucher for a while. It was a gift, and I kept the voucher and the booklet that came with it. BUT...to actually claim my gift, I have to put in the activation code on the voucher, the security code on the voucher AND the transaction code from the till receipt (bought by my old mother 100 miles away). Who knows you have to keep the till receipt to validate a voucher that already has 2 codes on it? The only way, apparently, around the missing receipt problem, is for my mum to go into her local Argos, and have them write a letter to the fact that she bought the voucher there, and send it to me so that I can forward it on to Activity Superstore. Good grief. What would the branch manager say to such a request? Would AS honour such a letter if they did receive one, or would they just find some other nonsense way of wriggling out of actually having to give me my present? If they are not a scam, they are still a joke.

Rip off!
My friend purchased a spa day voucher for me. What an absolute rip off. The spa is at bannatynes Gym and being a member of my local bannatynes, I have had many complaints about cleanliness etc. Although this voucher entitles you to a facial/massage, the reviews for bannatynes Chafford Hundred are terrible. This voucher is a complete rip off to unsuspecting people buying them. bannatynes is in essence a GYM not a Spa! champneys is a spa. The fact they are throwing in some sort of massage is irrelevant. People need to be warned about this company as other reviews for different experiences are very similar to mine.

Cannot book suitable date
It amazes me how big blue chip companies continue to use these 3rd party suppliers knowing that they give a shocking service! I bought a White water rafting voucher last November through Next Directory(With whom i've been a customer for over 20 years!). The issue i have with the voucher, is that in order to redeem it you have to wait until random dates are released from the supplier to Activity superstore! The bizarre thing is i can go onto the end vendors website and see all of the dates that are available and book straight away! Why then do I have to suffer this merry go round of waiting on Activity superstores call back list, waiting for them to get back to me with dates that have been released to them! You would think spending £120 on an experience you would be afforded the luxury of actually specifying a date you'd like to do it! This service is floored completely, save yourself a whole load of time and grief and book direct with the end supplier. I'm now stuck in between Next who gladly took my money for the voucher and Activity superstore who have again said we'll put you on the call back list and neither will offer a refund! Forget Mis-sold PPI, this is miss sold experiences.
Trying to book chosen activity
My son gave us a voucher worth £35 to be used on a wine tasting experience We exchanged this, with no great problem for a theatre voucher at an extra cost of £15 When we tried to use this voucher we were told we could not use it for the show of our choice as vouchers could only be used to see certain shows We were then sent an e-mail listing the shows which were available to voucher holders. Armed with this information we proceeded to choose another show, only to be told we could only use the voucher against the more expensive seats Our £35 gift voucher was now going to cost us more than double what it cost Our complaint is, that this information was not made available when purchasing this voucher If it had been Iknow my son and doubtless many others would not have made that purchase Activity Superstore seem to have a hidden agenda.

Mis-lead and mis-sold
NEVER BUY FROM ACTIVITY SUPERSTORE, they are rude, misleading and do not care one morsel about your experience.
I was given a theatre break for Christams for me and my partner, It says i can go see a show from a choice of marvelous options, however I can't, my options are Peppa Pig, Dream Boys (strippers), Girls Night...none of these are suitable for me and my boyfriend, not only have they lied about what you can see, you can only book a month in advance meaning that the "best seats available" that they book for you are the worst ones left...restricted view...restricted legroom! An absolute shambles, you pay £99 and get tickets worth £30! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I FEEL I HAVE BEEN SCAMMED!

Restaurant discovery for two (what a joke!)
I purchased a restaurant discovery for two voucher from Activity Superstore from Debenhams for £50 and can honestly say this was the worst meal I have ever had!
I booked a meal at the Edgbaston Palace Hotel in Birmingham and each and every course was stodgy, unhealthy, greasy food which you could have made better at home yourself! It wasn't even Iceland standard! I would not even want to feed the food to my pet dog! The ambience of the hotel could also have been vastly improved as when we got there the door of the restaurant was open with the bar area outside blarring out football on the tv. When we suggested putting music on the waitress turned on the radio which meant listening to adverts through our meal. The ambience was so bad and the food even worse we couldn't quite believe it! if your thinking of buying this as a tasting experience don't bother! how they can even advertise this hotel on their restaurant listing is unbelievable!
After complaining to Activity Superstore through several attempts at emailing over a number or weeks I finally received a proper response only to be told that my version of events did not match the hotels version and that no compensation would be offerred! Their customer service and reputation are shocking and the customers comments are not investigated properly! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

I would like to put up a complaint that I have experienced at a restaurant called shobha's in Birmingham star city, me and my friend went to ask for some boiling water for her baby's milk and she was being so rude about it all, she said I will give you it this time but do not make it a habit! And she said you should of been bait more organised! My friend said I was prepared but the water has gone cold! She refused to give me plain water! And I found it disgusting that I had to travel all the way back to derby and her baby was starving! There was no good customer service! And I feel that there is no decency left at all where all that we asked for was one ounce of boiling water! Never been so disappointed!
I'm sorry that your experience did not live up to expectations and if you would like to send your details to customerreview@activitysuperstore.com then I will investigate further.
Value of event
Do not buy from activity superstore!
Activity superstore fails to deliver face value of purchased vouchers. When you book with activity superstore they provide you with a voucher to purchase your chosen 'experience' that you are required to do all the booking for direct with the venue yourself. It quickly becomes apparent that the cost of the 'experience' you are entitled to book is much less than the value of the voucher you have purchased. Activity superstore then refused to issue any other voucher or alternative to meet the orginal purchase value of the 'experience'. As you are required to do all the booking yourself, my advice would be forget activity superstore even exists and purchase direct from the venue of your chioce ensuring cost is the true value you are spending. Customer services do not deliver what their job title is and firmly put the blame on you for booking with them, claiming thatby purchasing their voucher you accepted this could happen and they do not do refunds at this stage. The only way to stop this company taking excessive amounts of money by over inflating the real price of the 'experience' they are providing is to spread the word preventing more people become caught in this trap. Do not buy from activity superstore!

Rubbish customer service, rubbish company and rubbish 'experiences'. Look on Ebay and see the number of people practically trying to give away their vouchers!
I am very surprised that Activity Superstore claim to have few complaints about value. it's a recurring thread in the comments I have read. We recently had an Afternoon Tea experience at Bodelwyddan castle hotel. It was dire and the staff knew it was, reckoned they'd asked to be removed from the Marks and Spencer list. Value? Marketed now at £35, Warner Hotels market at £14.95. Champagne afternoon tea: Activity Superstore (M&S, Argos

Stupid process
My mother kindly booked a family portrait.
The process was completely stupid - you had to go through a registration rigmorole online to 'register your experience'
I then had to wait 10 days for a letter to arrive with my options on it ...there was one ...THE CLICK GROUP
I then had to ring them...they took me through ANOTHER registration process
They could not find a 'Member' studio nearer than nearly 30 miles away
THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME ITS NAME. THEY WOULD NOT LET ME CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY
I HAVE TO SEND THEM PART OF THE ORIGINAL VOUCHER IN THE POST (NOT THE SUPPLIER)
ON RECIEPT...I THE CUSTOMER HAVE TO WAIT A FURTHER 14 DAYS TO GET A DATE WHEN WE CAN GO
THEY WILL TELL ME THIER AVAILABILITY
CLEARLY THE BENEFICIERY IS TOTALLY AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PRIORITY LIST HERE _ SOME GIFT!

Wont refund me
Activity Superstore offers so-called 'Gift Experiences' designed to give you an experience of a lifetime - this is a load of rubbish!
My fiance purchased me an activity voucher for Christmas in order to cheer me up after a very tough year. I was thrilled to bits when I opened the envelope and saw what it was. I duly filled in the card and sent it off requesting the activity I had chosen.
After almost 3 weeks of waiting (despite them saying it would take 10 days) they finally sent me a voucher ... for the WRONG activity. Apparently the one I had chosen had been discontinued... fair enough. However, the alternative did not appeal and I asked for a refund.
They said no, several times, and eventually, after many emails and a letter of complaint they agreed I could have a refund. So I did as they asked, sent them the voucher back and started to wait...and wait...and wait.
After almost a month, I emailed them asking where my money was. They claim not have received the voucher so here we go again.
I could almost let it go apart from the fact that when you google ACTIVITY SUPERSTORE COMPLAINTS, you find a whole host of people who have had problems with this rip-off merchants.

Report them to your local Trading Standards. Apparently they are in regular contact with Trading Standards and I can see why. I have managed to get my money back but that is because I purchased through Wowcher, but it took me a lot of time and effort and I asked for compensation for this as well. If I took them to court I am quite sure I would be found in favour of, but I am waiting for them to make me a reasonable offer, other than a crappy voucher for the deals that don't sell. I would contact the Citizens Advice Bureau as well because they are actually in Breach of Contract and you have a strong case to take to court, but need to follow the steps first. I would suggest you also contact Watchdog because if enough people report this disgusting company they will show them on the TV and warn even more people not to purchase from them. My advice, book an experience direct with the supplier because when this company goes bust (which will be soon!) you will lose any money to all the creditors they still owe.
We are sorry that there you are not happy with the service you have received from Activity Superstore – if you would like to forward your contact details and any information you have about your voucher to this address: customerreview@activitysuperstore.com then I will look into what has happened and get back to you as soon as possible to try and resolve the problems you have had.
Shafted
I am so angry, I am spitting chips. I cannot believe I have been taken for a "patsy" by Debenhams in Oxford on behalf of The Activity Superstore I was given a gift of an "experience" - my choice to select high adrenalin or more sedate. The receiver of the gift does not know the value (it is promoted at £99, as if that amount buys everything on the list) -...

I bought a rally rush experience for my boyfriend for his birthday and we were late activating the voucher so the company asked us for £15 late booking fee which i paid. i sent a cheque off registered post and after a few weeks of not hearing anything i phoned them and they said they had not received my cheque. i then sent off another cheque and proceeded to make a booking over the phone for seaton ross on 18th march. on turning up at the venue having both of us taking days off work, we were told that no such booking had been made and were told that nothing could be done. i contacted the activity superstore only to be told that that date and venue hadnt been arranged and infact the venue had been arranged for northamptonshire! why would we go there when we live in North Yorkshire? to cap it all the manager emily atkinson told me that i would have to pay £25 more to re-book. i am furious. the rally rush man told us that this happened all the time and in fact some people travel from scotland only to be told that the booking hasnt been made. this is disgraceful and i am going to go down as many channels as possible in order to claim some recompense for this ridiculous situation. at the moment i have lost my voucher money, 2 late payment fees, have been treated very unfairly, been accused of lying and my boyfriend still has no birthday present from last june. i have been in contact with trading standards who are very interested in this case.

I have bough Shard experience and dinner voucher.
Your advert is misleading.
The dinner is at the other location not at the Shard and I am very disappointed to find out from my daughter after I gave her as Christmas present.
If your advert was clear I would have never bought such expensive voucher for £199.
I purchased this activity on line for our Son and his wife, it arrived today with only Rodneys name on it .
I requested Mr and Mrs Rodney Charnick, I cannot give it without my Daughter in Laws name as well
The activation number is [protected], please will you send a correct one .
Regards Pearl and Anthony Charnick .
Paid £199 for two night stay in any of 100+ hotels!
Picked a hotel, first (and only), date available was 11weeks ahead ... the "activity Superstore" vouched doesn't include breakfast and the hotel won't let yo stay without breakfast so had to pay £40 supplement. The only day available was a Sunday, this commands a £10 supplement ...what a con.
Activity Superstore...rubbish
I purchased an afternoon tea experience for £29 via Living Social Deal. On booking the afternoon tea the actual cost was £10.95 each. The cost with Activity Superstore is £34! Why on earth isn't research done on the costs of these experiences ? I would say 90% of the experiences being advertised are actually DEARER than the experience if bought direct. An absolute con. I am currently awaiting my refund but like those I've read previous, this could be a long drawn out process.
AWFUL!
Hi,
My complaint was dealt with very professionally by Charlotte.
Terrible customer service. I received 3 vouchers and wanted to book the Cinema Experience for 4. I was told that this offer no longer existed although it was advertised on the website when the vouchers were purchased and it is also printed on the vouchers that I received. I contacted customer service on 28th Jan and was told I would have to book another experience. I chose a helicopter flight. I have a chain of emails gong back and forth trying to book this experience. I have now been told on 17th Feb that this experience does not exist and I must have been looking on another website. I still have the screen grab showing this on the activity superstore website but again it would appear that this experience has been withdrawn. I have now asked for my vouchers to be refunded but after reading the above posts I do not have much faith in a successful outcome. I cannot understand how a business is allowed to trade like this. It should be closed down. Do not buy vouchers from this company - total waste of money and time spent emailing various different staff who fail to deliver any customer service at all! JOKE!

Good morning Andy Mill,

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Charlotte,
It was you who said you could do nothing & my voucher was void as I did not have proof of purchase as it was bought as a gift. I have bought gifts of a similar nature before & they have 12 months before they expire not 3 months maybe someone should check the stock held in the outlets they are sold as this is now just a wasted 50 pounds.
Regards,
Andy
Good morning Andy
I am sorry for any confusion, however there are two Charlottes in this office, therefore I believe it was my colleague Charlotte Rudin who you were speaking with. If you can forward on your details to me as requested in my previous comment, I will gladly look into this for you.
Kind regards

This product purports to offer 30 fantastic experiences. However to use it you need to read the small print and register within a very, limited period. If you miss the dates your gift is worthless.
I am tempted to test the contract in the courts on the basis of unreasonable contract terms but in the meantime I would recommend you DO NOT buy and if you receive register immediately.
They are in my view an appalling company.
With reference to a comment posted by Nigel Roberts of August 2015, I can confirm the Activity Superstore has no County Court Judgements against it and this review is in fact inaccurate. Mr Roberts has been asked to remove this defamatory comment.

How is this terrible customer service? You let your voucher expire, and all they need is the gifter to call them to issue another one. This is pretty standard in the gift card/certificate industry.
