a very disrespectful behavior from air canada supervisor at newark airport.
To whom it may concern,
I, linda habib, was traveling on june 3rd from new york city with my kids and nieces, coming back to montreal (yul) from newark aeroport (ewr) on the flight ac7741 at 3:55 pm.
While we were waiting to board, they announced that the flight was full and that whoever wish to send his carry on with the luggages, will be free of charge.
They were asking people only in zone 3 and 4 to do it!
One lady from air canada crew who works at the aeroport came to check our boarding passes to see the zones and to take our carry on. I told her that I want to keep it with me, so she was very angry and told me that I have no choice to keep it with me, then she asked me to go talk to the lady working on the counter.
So I went and talked to another lady from air canada, and I asked her very kindley to keep my carry on and she accepted.
While we were boarding, a lady named: jaslon, came to me and told me:"you are the one who refused to give us your carry on, you have to send it as a luggage or you can not go in this flight!"
She was very rude the way she was talking to me, and arguing a lot! I felt that the other lady told her about me and that is why she came directly to me!
I told her that there are a lot of people having their carry on with them! Why is she insisting on taking mine! She replied in a very rude way and she raised her voice! My kids were very afraid from her reaction and the way she was talking to me! She even threatened me that if I keep talking to her, that she will not allow me on the flight especially that she is the supervisor of air canda in this aeroport! She said:"one more word from you and you will not be on this flight!"
The way she was talking to me was very unacceptable, her rudeness, the volume of her voice, the way she was looking at me made me feel very uncomfortable! I with the 6 members of my family always travel with air canada, this is the first time I feel that I may need to change the airline especially when I will be going to the states!
I will really hope you will investigate about "jaslon's" behavior with all the passengers!
Thank you
Linda habib

change fee
I booked my ticket on line with Air Canada Nov 14, 2017 for a flight to Phoenix from Regina Jan 12 and returning to Regina Feb 9, 2018. Confirmation number MGCTAA.
On Jan 28 I called Air Canada to change my flight asking for information as to cost and if I could keep it as a credit. I was advised yes. I was never advised about the change fee. I changed my flight and called back 10 min later and changed my flight. That's when I was informed about the change fee. I was very upset since I wouldn't have changed it if I was told that prior call. I made a complaint with the you and advised I would get an email on the decision. Today I tried to use my credit and told a complaint was never received and the change fee would be applied. That's not right.
flight delays
Travelling to Haneda JApan via Toronto, had to take a 6 AM flight to make our 13:30 connection.
On arrival in Toronto, learn the flight is over 3 hours late because of a mechanical problem.
Now have to wait 6 hours in this dreary airport.
Attempted just to comment directly to AC, but their complaints site is rigged to prevent this, as it does not recognize any airport names and there is no pick list. So you have to type the airport name at length YYZ Toronto (Lester B. Pearson Intl). .. But then their system does not allow the complaint through because it says it does not recognize the airport name.
This is anew and improved method for AC to not get any complaints.
I went to a service agent to find out what they would do to alleviate the 6 hour wait that is their fault.
The agent barely deigned to hear me out and said, Air Canada's doesn't give out Lounge passes and we don't do anything if it is less than 3 hours.
So of course the flight will be more than 3 hours late, but by stating it is only 3 hours, they need do nothing.
ABsoltely typical of Air Canada.
Almost embarrassed to be Canadian.

So on May 4th, 2018 i was taking my return flight from Rome, italy to Edmonton, canada via toronto with my wife and two infants 18months both .there was heavy wind in Toronto and due to that most flights were getting cancelled or redirected to the different airport.
First of all air canada staff never made things clear to us.initially they said our flight is delayed for only 10 minutes then they said 30 minutes and at the end after an hour they said they had to go to the Ottawa airport.
at Ottawa again their response was not clear. they kept communicating different timings for take off for toronto and the fact that i was with two infants who were already on this flight for more than 10 hours, i had to keep them awake and made them sit in my lap because of the take off.
and the story doesn't end here, in toronto i was catching this connecting flight and again they kept communicating different timings for take off.in fact in toronto they said plane will take off in 10 minutes and ended up taking more than an hour for take off.nothing was communicated in between.our luggage was delayed and sent to us next day.
my kids and my wife were sick for two days after this flight.we can understand there was a genuine reason for delay in toronto but the fact that air canada wasn't communicating the correct timing in fact they kept telling us the wrong timing which is pathetic.we are not even approached and apologized by any air canada staff.we are disappointed by this very poor service and communication.
customer service
Family holiday last fall, booked and paid for tickets to Vancouver. We arrived at the airport one hour prior to flight.
Air Canada refused to assist us ... we just needed our boarding passes. No deal ... so
Our trip was wasted. Various complaints to AC were left without satisfactory response.
No reimbursement, instead they wanted more money to rebook the flight. Extortion really.
flight change fees
Some info first I work part time for a small company who buys the cheapest ticket they can get, not my fault. I am 66 years old trying to make some spending money as I am retired.
We (a lot of old retired guys) deliver vehicles across north america, not much money but see a lot of country.
Now for my problem most of the time if all the conditions are right the weather, traffic and trucks run well we get to the airport early. This is my issue air canada does not care about customer problems they are greedy I make about $200 a day minus food and lodging and that day is around 14 hours on the road.
So when you guys ask for $105 to $200 plus to change flights I cannot not afford this,
I sat in kelowna from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm watching flights leave as I could not afford your exchange fees I arrived in kelowna on the 19 of april I had to get a room at my additional expense for $103. I am positive there were seats on the plane but no to me as you guys always think some one is ripping you off, no I just wanted to get home!
The one gentleman tried and your computer system refused him, the second fellow did not even try to find a way to get me home, he just watched me sit there all day as flights left. I would have gladly paid you the price of a hotel if you had let me go the day before but no way company policy.
This is not the first time this has happened to me, all of us driver have asked our company to put us on westjet when ever possible they from the beginning 4 years ago have listen and understood our problem.
Now our company has to book us far out incase there are problems with the weather, traffic or trucks that so we can make the later flight hopefully.
We cannot afford you high exchange fees, when I make below minimum wage.
My wife is taking a short vacation shortly guess what we will not even look at air canada for anything, poor customer relations, with some better understanding you may loose then you win on future trips, look to future.

deliberate misinformation concerning flight status and delay
On April 19th, I was to take AC 8134 from YYC to YEG at 9:05 am. My itinerary included a same day return trip that was cancelled by Air Canada, and my being placed on an alternative flight. I was informed of the cancelation of the return flight through numerous emails from Air Canada nad my travel agency the evening prior (April 18). The morning of April 19th, I received an email from my travel agent at 5:07, which I read at 6:10am stating my flight was delayed from a 9:05 departure to a 9:50 departure. I had no emails or notifications from Air Canada, so I decided to call Air Canada to confirm the delay. AT this point I had decided that if my flight was delayed, I would drive to Edmonton and could still be on time for my meetings. At 6:13 am I call Air Canada, and was informed that the flight was on time, and the person said they had no idea why the agency would send me such a notice. I also took the opportunity to confirm my return flight status. With the confirmation that AC8134 was departing on time at 9:05, I continued with my plans to fly to Edmonton. I arrived at the Calgary airport at 8 am, and checked my emails. I had received an email from Air Canada at 7:43 am stating that my flight was delayed from a 9:05 departure to a 9:50 departure. At this point I had no choice except to board the flight, as I could no longer drive to make my meeting. I do not understand how a travel agency would have knowledge of a flight delay before Air Canada knew of the flight delay. As the notices from the travel agent and Air Canada were exactly the same with regards to the flight delay times, I must conclude that either Air Canada instructs their agents to mislead inquiries by customers that might cost Air Canada fares, or that Air Canada deliberately withholds information from their agents and customers in order to reduce the loss of revenue due to customers making alternative travel arrangements. As a million mile plus customer, I wish to know what the answer is, and I want compensation for the deliberate mis-leading that Air Canada engaged in during this situation.

We were coming home to Kansas from Florence, Italy. This checked luggage was checked in Florence. Our flight was delayed in Toronto by the ice storm and we had to spend last night there and fly home today.
Names: Wayne and Nancy Cottril
Original flight # 7321 Record Locator: SDLYBE
New Flight # today 4-16-18, #7389 to MCI at Kansas City
We did not see this luggage from the time we checked it in Florence, Italy until we arrived at MCI this afternoon in Kansas City. Tonight we opened the luggage and found our clothes wet and some damaged.
What could have happened in the 2 days you had our luggage?
What is the procedure for compensation for the damaged shirts?

To: Air Canada Customer Relations
I purchased 2 tickets for Air Canada flight AC7374, booking reference # MHR2KV, from Toronto to Washington DC, Dulles airport, departing on March 28, 2018 at 8:30 p.m.
Unfortunately the flight was cancelled without any advanced notice. We did not find it out until we arrived at the airport and tried to check in.
Air Canada could not find an alternative flight for us the same night. After spending several hours in a panic at the airport trying to get to Washington, we were offered a next day flight on March 29th at 8:05 am to Baltimore airport, which was 40km farther from our original destination.
Air Canada provided transportation from the airport to our home with a next day pick up. We did not arrive home until 12:30 am and had to be ready to be picked up at 4:30 a.m.
The replacement flight AC7350 on March 29th was delayed by one and half hour. As a result of those Air Canada flight cancellations and delays, we arrived at our original designation in Washington 14 hours later than planned (12:05 pm instead of 10 pm the previous day).
This was a very stressful and unpleasant experience for us. Being loyal Air Canada customers, we were very disappointed by Air Canada services this time.
As working professionals (my wife is a registered dietitian and myself a professional engineer) we lost one day of our vacation because of Air Canada flight changes and delays.
I believe that we are entitled to a reasonable compensation for the following extra expenses incurred due to Air Canada operations:
One night parking... $20
A day wasted time off work for my wife...$420
A day wasted time off work for myself...$540
Total...$980

unethical behavior
I, Chris Virgil, am writing to complain about a humiliating experience on flight AC 125 from Toronto to Vancouver on February 8, 2018 .
The plane departed from Gate D36 at 18:20 and seated at 21E.
During the dinner hour I was sitting at the middle seat. The Asian stewardess whose name was supposedly Joanne was very disrespectful to me.
This was one of the most snowy days in Toronto and we were waiting ten hours to get a flight after having arrived from Bermuda.
She asked the the first person if they wanted anything then skipped over me as if I was not there and asked the window seated person if they wanted anything, took their orders then went over to three Asians seated one row back and opposite side of aisle and was chatting it up with them.I said I was wanting to order dinner and you were very disrespectful and rude. She said that she was busy and would get back to me.
I said just give me some cashews please. She came over and offered them to me and stated you do not have to pay.later she came buy and asked for payment and I said no I will not pay for them and she reached over and snatched the nuts out of my hand.We got into an argument about her treatment of me and I said I would make a complaint. She turned away and headed towards the front and when she returned she had not name tag.I asked her why her name tag was missing she said it was not a policy for her to wear it so I was unable to get he name.I took a photo and we argued about violations of taking staff photos and I said "You removed your name tag and no I am not going to turn my camera over to you" period.
Another stewardess called her and asked for her assistance and said something to her which I did not hear.Later in the flight and prior to landing she came up to my seat and said my name is Joanne if you need to make a complaint go to customer service upon landing.I felt so bad and I did not feel worthy for a while to make a complaint and have not told a soul about my experience because I feel so humiliated.I have been very very loyal to Air Canada and have flown four or five times during the last twelve months.
I believe I deserve an apology and some compensation for what embarrassment I had to endure.

toilet
The toilet on the dash 8 400q was coming off the wall. The toilet was literally falling off the wall. If you look at my video you can clearly see the Separation. The washroom was so small, there was no sink to wash your hands and you could not turn around. You had to back into the bathroom if you wanted to sit on the toilet. The toilet looked like it had been siliconed.

baggage delay
My husband and I arrived via Santiago on March 11, 2018, my husband's baggage landed, mine did not.
I completed the forms over the desk, same day, same location as where I was supposed to pick up my suitcase. I was given a form with a case reference # YYZ AC 32328 and was told that my suitcase was still in Santiago and was going to be coming back to Canada the day after (March 12, 2018).
On March 12, at about 15.30 hrs. I got a call from an Eric from American Airlines saying that he had my luggage, he was going to have the suitcase through Customs and I could pick it up from him soon after.
Unfortunately and I called the number in the form given to me while reporting the loss luggage and the first called caused a further delay of 3 days with numerous phone calls to 1888 689 2247, spoken with perhaps all the staff during those 4 days and got nowhere. There answers varied from : "your suitcase is doing Customs it can take from 24 to 48 hours..." to yesterday "your suitcase cleared Customs and is now with the Currier company, it can take another 24 to 48 hours to get a call before delivery". And today, upon requesting to speak to a supervisor, a Nolan shared that I could pick up the luggage from American Airlines terminal 3 etc, etc. Furthermore, to get it delivered I had to complete another form?
Of course I went to Pearson and collected my suitcase from American Airlines from an office where has been since Monday March 12.in other words, the staff at baggage claims don't know what they are doing, they don't care about the call they get and don't bother even trying to look after the customers. Nice manners over phone but absolutely no action. A disgrace that has no limits, a frustration to know that nobody care. I learnt later on of so many cases of complaints with AC and baggage, How is that you can get away with such a poor performance? you should be a shame.
misinformed baggage information and missed connecting flight
I flew on flight AC0857 on Sunday March 11/2018 LHR - YYZ. Upon check - in LHR I was informed my bag would be available for pick up in DFW after a connecting flight AA 2588 YYZ-DFW. I ask the Air Canada gate agent 3 times if I had to retrieve my bag in YYZ and she said "NO" it will transfer and you can pick it up in DFW.
I get to YYZ go to the American terminal and customs won't let me clear because my bag did not clear yet. I go to Ameican to find out where my bag is.
American said Air Canada did not transfer your bag.
I now have to go back to Air Canada to find out where my bag is. 2 hrs. later they find my bag, it never transferred. I now have missed my AA 2588 flight to DFW.
I finally get my bag and ask Air Canada to book me free of charge to DFW because by not transferring my bag I missed my AA flight. Air Canada agrees to get me on the next flight to DFW free of charge.
I now am standing in front of the ticket agent and she and a manager who is on the phone with her can't decide how to code the ticket. They keep discussing its until the point where I am going to miss this Air Canada flight also.
She then says to me that if I want to buy a ticket now and then file a complaint with customer service later that would be the best way to get to DFW tonight.
So I did that, the ticket was $662.49 and the bag fee was $26.35 and I am asking for a refund to my American express in those amounts.
Thank you

missed connection - reimbursement of $10
I am writing to complain about Air Canada's Poor compensation for a missed flight segment due to Air Canada's Delays. I was flying from Buenos Aires to Canada, all flights were with Air Canada. I landed in Toronto 30 mins after my connecting flight from Toronto to London had already left at 0730. Everyone I spoke to at the counters in Toronto were incredibly rude to me. I was told if he did not wait over 12 hours until the next flight they could put him on at 9:20 pm he would lose his remaining flights back to Buenos aires. Who is going to sit in Toronto and wait 13-14 hours to catch a 40 min flight? Instead I waited 2 hours for my fiance to drive to Toronto to pick me up. I paid over $200 dollars extra for the convenience of flying into London instead of Toronto. So not only did we spend the extra $200 on flights, we needed to spend the money on gas to drive 4 hours to pick me up from the airport. After we returned to London I called Air Canada regarding this issue, I was kindly told my remaining flights would be okay and that a refund for the missed flight segment would be processed. I was satisfied until I received the refund a couple weeks ago... $10 dollars! Is this a joke? Why even bother?!?! It is a complete slap in the face. It would cost the airline more to give food vouchers for a delay over 12 hours that is their fault. Are you seriously telling me that you sell the flight segment from Toronto to London for $10?!?! Can you please tell me why it is always sold for few hundred dollars more?! We are frequent travelers and this issue will most def be taken into account when booking future travel.

had arrived inToronto, flying from Beijing. Had flown to Beijing on 12/6/17, all went well, and was thinking of continuing to use A. C. for my next flights to Beijing. our flight to Mpls from Toronto was delayed due to weather by 3 hours. When we finally boarded, we sat for 2 hours on the tarmac, waiting for our luggage to be loaded. no explanation, finally a supervisor loaded our luggage.
I missed my ride to my home, arriving in Mpls, Mn. after 1am. had to take a cab which cost me $25.00. I was due to arrive about 7:30pm. I understand about the weather delay, but there was no excuse for not loading the luggage and leaving. I am asking for reimbursement for the cab fare to my home.
my seat number on the flight was 16C. I still have the boarding pass if you need that. the other number on my ticket is ETKTO148696039406

flight change time and food quality
I booked a flight in December to Lima Peru from Toronto departure date Feb 5. Two weeks later your airline changed the flight return Lma to Toronto Feb 22 from 315 am to 540 am
This time was very inconvenient I would not have chosen this flight when I purchased the ticket.
I know that airlines have the right to change flight times. However I discovered that your airline has a pattern of doing this
In fact to the same flight.
Food
The food offered on Feb 5 Totonto to Lima smelled bad I ate it and had abdominal pain during the entire flight.
On the return Feb 22 I decided not to eat and instead brought an apple and crackers.
My paid airfare included a meal, a quality controlled one Food that is stored properly and healthy.
I have been a star alliance member for many years. I would like to know what will be done so this does not happen again. And I can confidently book with Air Canada again.

delayed and cancelled flights
Recent Air Canada Trip-A Comedy of Errors, Cancellations and Mishaps
I have flown with Air Canada over many years, and have often received Elite status, including super-elite one year. I have also supported Air Canada in many ways, defending them as an excellent airline. I am now largely retired, with my Elite status expiring at the end of February.
I recently travelled to see my son and family in Amherst MA. Flights were first reserved from St John's to Montreal on AC 7529 16 FEB 18 130P and then to Hartford on AC 7302 16 FEB 18 415P.
I was informed on 16 February that there was a delay to the flight leaving St John's, enough to make the connection to Hartford impossible. I then re-booked for Saturday 17th, and flew through Toronto rather than Montreal. All went well on these flights but I found out that the flight from Hartford to Montreal the previous evening had been cancelled. It was as well that I re-booked!
A garrulous employee on the flight to Hartford told me that they were short of airworthy aircraft.
My return to Montreal was booked on AC 7301, 22 FEB 18 at 230P. I arrived in plenty of time, nice day, to be told that the flight was cancelled becaused of freezing rain, in Hartford and Montreal. There certainly was not any freezing rain when I arrived, and friends told me that Montreal had good weather that day. You can check for yourself, obviously you have more information. The person conveying the information (Joe) was quick to insist that the arline had no responsibilty since the cancellation was weather-related. Joe could benefit from some training and guidance on how to address passengers in a pleasant and respectful way.
I was then re-routed through Toronto, arrived in Montreal the early hours of the next day (23 February) instead of at 355 pm on the 22nd. Something of an ordeal.
For my return I was booked on the flight AC 7530 on 24 FEB 18 at 810P, a late flight, I thought that I would watch a movie. No such luck, flight was delayed by 3 hours, and the entertainment system was non-functional.
I don't like to be a victim, but I have often noticed service on the flights to St John's is much poorer than on other AC flights, even though the flights are generally full. None of the original flights on my itinerary were on time-they were either cancelled or considerably delayed. Service to Hartford from Montreal seems like a joke, to say the least.
Sincerely

dinner almost killed me
Sunday Feb 25, 2018 took AC flight from Munich to Toronto. Departed 1.5 hours late, or after 1 pm. We were served lunch, I ordered the pasta with red sauce thinking it would be a safe choice. 2 hours later my blood pressure dropped, I felt the most horrible headache ever, I started seeing white and had to run to the washroom, where literally exploded.. I went a couple of more times and arrived to TO puke bag in hand and totally sick.
Do eat before your flight, unless you want to risk certain death by food poisoning.
flight delay/staff rudeness
We were flying from Montreal to Toronto - Billy Bishop Island Airport on Flight AC 7969 on Monday, February 19. However, due to a dense fog, and after 45 minutes of flying in circles, the plane was not able to land and returned back to Montreal. While we understand weather conditions change and security should always be a priority, I am disappointed with the lack of information provided by the AC crew. The flight attendant provided status flight information to selected passengers only, however, when I asked for an update, I was confronted by a rude and impolite attendant. While I tried to not take the situation personally, the staff purposely did not serve me beverages but offer beverages and snakes to other passengers.
Air Canada's service felt apart gradually once we landed back in Montreal. The Customer Service station on Gate 1 was extremely unhelpful. I tried to get on stand by on the next flight to Toronto but was informed in a ruddiness manner to contact the AC help desk. To my surprise, the same agent booked other passages in the stand-by list. In addition, the phone attendant told me that all flights to Toronto were booked, however a passenger beside me advised that she was included on a stand by list for a flight leaving at 9 pm.
After a 30 minute back and forth walking between gates 1 and 57, I was put on a stand by list for flight AC 425. The flight did not leave until 11:30 and while I recognize the flight attendants were tired; their lack of customer service and professionalism shocked me. We were all tired at that point, and also concerned about the possibility of having to flight back to Montreal - as indicated by the pilot -one additional time. The inability presented by the flight attendants on flight AC 7969 and AC 425, combined with the poor customer service at the gates at the airport, showed me that Air Canada needs to train staff with competence to be passionate and helpful when situations where passengers are stranded for endless hours.
I am revolted by the poor customer service provided, and unfortunately, I will have to look at other airline options where my business is appreciated when booking my next flights.
