I am writing to file a formal complaint against Al Madina Supermarket regarding a highly distressing incident that occurred during my recent visit to their establishment.
On 24/8/23 I visited Al Madina Supermarket with a friend to make a purchase. After completing our shopping, I was unexpectedly summoned to the office by the supermarket staff, who accused me of taking fish without proper payment. In the office, I was confronted by multiple staff members who raised their voices and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. They even threatened physical harm.
To substantiate their claim, they presented me with a surveillance video that left me bewildered, as I was unaware of any wrongdoing on my part. The confusion arose from the fact that I was in the process of transferring my purchased items from one bag to another, and this was misconstrued as an attempt to steal.
Under duress and fearing for my safety due to the aggressive behavior of the staff, I was coerced into signing a document in which I agreed to pay 2500 AED as restitution to the supermarket.
This experience has left me deeply traumatized and distressed, and I believe it is essential for your office to investigate this matter thoroughly. I request your assistance in resolving this issue promptly and fairly. No customer should ever be subjected to such treatment, and it is imperative that Al Madina Supermarket is held accountable for their actions.
