extended warranty
After receiving the "ourtesy letter" from your employee, Vicki Creary (attached), I went to your website (on July 29th) to make the final payment on my Extended Warranty (Merchandise Order: # 597814/Account #: [protected], Whereupon I was informed that the account number no longer existed.
After several calls Alabama Power Customer Service and Warranty Services, I learned that my Warranty had been cancelled for "Non-payment" and could not be reinstated or re-written.
Unless there is some "time-sensitive" reason to do so, I pay most of my bills at the end of the month (as I am a Alabama State employee, paid once a month, on the last day of the month).
Once again referencing Ms. Creary's "letter", there was no deadline or possibility of cancellation expressed.
Due to this unwitting, unintentional customer service failure, I no longer have warranty coverage on my Maytag Refrigerator.
I ask that my Extended Warranty be reinstated or, rewritten.
Respectfully,
H.C. Cecil

discrimination against disabled
My mother is blind, she has a broken foot and does not leave the house! I was moving her and I submitted the transfer request online to only be told it was an issue with the address ! Or actually the person who lived there before and she must come in with lease and her id! They wouldn't let me email it and made me bring my sick disabled mother up there to...

I went in on Friday to pay my bill. I did not have the full amount. The other workers always work with me as long as I pay the past due amount and part of the new bill. I paid $200 and asked him to please give me 6 days to pay the balance and he flat out refused telling me that if it wasn't paid in full by tues the 23 of July I guess I would find myself without power. I watched him tell the customers before me the same thing. As if it pleasured him to have so much control over peoples lives! They and myself were literally begging this man, an employee, to please not cut off our power for only owing some of our current bills! He actually took pleasure in denying this! You could tell making others feel less than human, making hard working people grovel to only maintain some kind of peaceful existence! That man has way too much power and control! I know how arrangements work. I've had to play the game for many years and I know another worker would've worked with me. I'm going to make a complaint to the office manager and higher. I just need to know names and contact info for who I need to see about this please. Erin Burton. [protected]. 106 vallon Circle. Jasper. Alabama. 35501
power
I have an 87 year old parent who is a fall risk and who has other health issues where she must have power. I'm on disability and recently had a major surgery that couldn't be put off. My co-pay was out of this world. I called to make a payment arrangement with them. (Not for anything free mind ya) They refused to extend me two days and I would pay the full amount. Our little family doesn't ask for handouts and I will have the money to pay the full bill on the 26 not the 24. I can't control SSA. So-for two days we will have to sit in the dark without air in 90 plus temps. Wrong so wrong
north helena substation grass needs attention
I live in the neighborhood that backs up to this transmission substation and I have a small child. In the past week I have seen several snakes. The tall grass at this North Helena substation needs to be cut. I am afraid to let me child go outside to play. Please have someone address this issue as soon as possible. I have called every customer service number I can find and no one seems to care about helping me.
lineman service crew driving safety
On the morning of Thursday 5/30/2019 around the 300 block of the Eastern Boulevard a linesman driving a truck cut me off forcing me into the median. He did so with no turn signal or warning, just shot the gap to what he thought was an open hole moving from center to the left lane. With traffic behind me and to my right the only defensive maneuver available was to slightly brake and weave into the median with the drivers side wheels of my vehicle.
This is very uncharacteristic of Alabama Power Employees? APC Southern Company has always taken great care in the behavior, training, and safety practiced at every level by APC professionals.
This guy was driving like he was in a Smart Car playing go carts. Not much of an exaggeration and doing so with a 10+ ton truck in traffic is inexcusable.
I had to wait for a few cars to go by until someone would let me back on the Blvd. & was able to catch and get in front of the truck just before the light at the Sams Club to take the image below. At no time did I escalate or attempt to engage the driver however, he needs to learn how to act responsibly and SAFELY when representing APC operating that equipment around the general public.
There were no alarms, lights, or indication of emergency response. Poor judgement in heavy traffic. Very uncharacteristic of SoCo representatives.
electric account closed for no reason/requesting a second deposit for same account
I left for legal reasons to new york & got into a car accident while there, I returned may 13, 2019 to find my lights were off after my last bill was due for april 25, 2019, I called & a represenative who I found to be quite brash & unempathetic to my situation (car accident) told me my account was closed & I would have to secure another deposit of $400...

Alabama power put up a new power pole on my property 3 weeks ago and without my knowledge left a lot of cable in my yard, which I ran over with my new riding lawnmower and tore up the spindles and blades. the cable is probably 300 feet in length and should had been removed before they left the property. I have pictures if needed, what can I get done to correct this situation

So I moved here from ga in dec. 2018, my first bill was over $800.00! Obviously I couldn't pay that all at once so I called and told them to let me split it up. Ok 👌 not even 72 hours later they shut it off! Now this day we had also just got back from taking my daughter for mental/ depression help for attempting suicide! (her best friend passed then her fav. Uncle passed the same month!)
Anyways I finally got it paid. So here it is april 3, 2019! Guess what! Power disconnected again! Please explain how the hell iv had to pay almost over $3k since dec. 17 2018 for power! I had to call and let them know my check was late this month plus my sis in law passed few days ago and my brother needed help. I explained this as well. Said I would pay it 4/7/2019! She said ok no problem! Well it's the 3rd! They say it's $787.98 due! And that $416.00 was past due! Wtf! Ok so I was told to just at least paybpast die and it would be connected! So I finally was able to scrape and borrow and 4:37 I called paid it! $418.99 have confirmation number! Here it is 9:30 no power still! Called to check on it they said no they wasn't turning it on until another $307 was paid! I have 4 children 1 is 3 yrs old with diabetes so her insulin is going to be wasted and another taking breathing treatments. He's just a little baby! I just hope it doesn't get to cold tonight! I have called and begged and pleaded with everyone at that 800 number! (car transmission just went out so I have no car!) no family within 3 hours from here! Is there any laws on this crap? I mean my kids have medications and machine they need to live and idk what to do! Please help if you can! [protected] text please then call
budget billing
Alabama Power makes budget billing seem great but when you enquire about it the representatives are quick to set you up on budget billing but they fail to tell you that it will cost you triple what your actual bill is to get off of budget billing. Read full review of Alabama Powerpower surge
Alabama Power changed my meter several years ago and sent a Power surge thru our house. It fried our dishwasher and they refused to pay for it. They said they hired a company out of Kentucky to change the meters out and they were responsible. Guess what? They refused to pay for it! I contacted the BBB but the power company told them I never received service at that address. It was in my Mother in laws name. I called and threatened them. I bet they have a record of that!
no service my mother gonna freeze to death
My mom bought a home that Alabama power won't reconnect the service too due to a previous tenant jumping the meter . This has been going on for nine months now . She doesn't have money to spend so my wife and I pay most of her bills and it is costing nearly $1000/ month in fuel to keep a generator running 24/7 . The third generator stopped working yesterday and the extra cost of the fuel has left me so broke I can't buy Christmas for my two kids . I'm not asking for any hand out I'm only asking you to please let me give you some money every month . Please I'm going crazy worrying about my mom living lone with no lights on .
power bill sent into collections not even after a week being due
My fiance and I have Alabama Power in Saraland, Alabama. The bill is in HIS name. Our bill was due November 29th and here it is December 6th they have sent the bill to COLLECTIONS and say even though I've paid HALF OF WHAT WAS DUE they have to have the other half by tomorrow (Dec 7th) or they will cut off our power. We are on disability and they are UNWILLING to work with us. No one will help. They treat their customers like crap and expect us to just take it. This is unreal. A WEEK PAST DUE AND IN COLLECTIONS?!?! Your customer pays you HALF of what is owed (which was only $230) and you won't work with them until they get their disability on the 1st of NEXT month?!?!
What a wonderful way to run a business.
power off again!!! horrible service!!!
Our power is out again for the second time in the past few weeks. The first outage took over eight hours to get the power back on and now it's been off since 1 o'clock today. They're telling me they expected back on by 10. PM. THAT'S NINE HOURS! Alabama Power has the worst customer service on the planet !
It's cold tonight with no heat and no lights. My son has a huge organic chemistry final tomorrow and no lights to study by! I've recently had back surgery and I'm freezing to death ... no power so no heat ! Alabama Power needs to get their act together !
This is at the ridge in Meadowbrook in Birmingham, AL 35242. The first time I said nothing and patiently waited ... the second time with 10 hours to repair, I'm furious. Very very very bad service ! On a scale of 1 to 10 can I give you a minus -20 ? Aweful!
street light removed
Sometime around late May or June, the power company replaced a power pole on 31 St. S between Highland Ave and Pawnee. The original pole was cut partially down to remove the power lines and then a large steel pole was put up. It is a recloser and its number is RD0378. When the power company took off the power lines from the original pole, they also removed the street light and did not replace it on the new gigantic steel pole.
For 5 months, I've call the power company every few weeks to request that it be replaced. Everyone I have spoken with is very polite but the problem still is not fixed! So, my questions are 1) When will it be replaced? (The last time I spoke with someone, they said it would be replaced last week. It wasn't).
And, 2) Who do I need to talk to if you can't help with this problem? Please understand that this is not just my problem. This part of 31St S is now very dark. This sidewalk is used often. It is on a steep hill. There are some steps and also the side walk is extremely uneven because of tree roots. A light is very much needed for public safety.
I look forward to hearing back from you and to this problem being fixed.
Regards,
Ellen Diethelm

power bill/payment arrangements
I contacted Alabama Power and tried to make a payment arrangement. My bill was two months behind. I had made one months payment but I still had a disconnect notice for Oct. 4. I tried to make a payment arrangement online and it only extended it to Oct. 12. When I spoke to Alabama Power, they would not budge or help me in any way. No empathy, no mercy. I explained that I was struggling financially right now and could they please extend it to Oct. 26. I was told the system would not allow them to extend it any further than 8 days even after asking to speak to a manager. I was told by the manager, Craig, to borrow the money from a family member or friend and pay them back on Oct. 26th. Why don't we have another power company? I will file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. It may not do any good but Alabama Power needs to be investigated.
I would like to make arrangements for my recent bill
Does this mean no?

you deliberately cut my lights out without any reason
Mark Crosswhite, President:
This is in regards to the power service at 217 Honeycutt rd Adamsville, AL.
On July 3rd at 10:30 P.M., You came and cut my lights off while I was watching TV. You never said a word to me or given me a reason why you cut them off. I want them turn back on so that we can begin work on the house. This is a low down trick you participated in. I paid you on time every month without any hassle and to deliberately throw me in the dark was outrages. I was informed by your representative that the city of Adamsville had reported that my lights needed to be cutoff because of a problem with the meter, but no one has ever checked my meter or told me there was any problem. The next time I spoke to a representative I was told it was cutoff because of a safety issue or dangerous conditions but this is absolutely not true. The house has not even been inspected recently so how can it be said that there is dangerous conditions. It is an absurdity that you have accepted this lie to be true without even checking for yourself. I still haven't been told why my power was shut off. Attention to this matter would be appreciated so I can have my service back on. Thank you, Wallace Honeycutt
getting service connected to a new home.
We started last week asking for a mobile home to be connected for my Mother in law who is seventy nine years young. She has Parkinson disease and first Sunday in may fell and broke her shoulder. We are moving her from Decatur to Double Springs so we can take care of her and my forty year old brother in law who lives with her and is Autistic. They have to be moved by the end of July out of their house that has been sold in Decatur and the engineer Scott Knight started off telling us maybe this week and now he has went to maybe next week. This under the circumstances is unacceptable to treat a customer under this kind of situation this way. If it were just us I wouldn't be so impatient but for a lady of this age and health problems who we are desperate to get moved so we can care for her. I'm asking if you can please get things going so we can get her moved before the month is out. In this heat it will be impossible for them to stay in a mobile home without power and air. The address is Denise Sibley 1204 County Road 81 Double Springs Al 35553 (the old booger tree road)

The Worst power company around the South. Where in other states they have upgraded power distribution systems around hurricane prone coastal areas, Alabama Power does nothing! It's the same crappy old system which was here when I left for the military in the 70s. Power is goes off in these areas because of old equipment. In other states power companies will replace transformers on a schedule, not in Alabama, they replace when they fail. These people are still using wood poles right on the water, and half of them are already leaning over from previous storms.
I guess what I am trying to say is Alabama Power sucks!
