A company claims I owe a debt from an unknown account, which I dispute.
A company has sent me a notice attempting to collect a debt from an account I don't recognize. I'm certain I don't owe any debt to this entity, and I've filed a complaint against the company to stop this potentially fraudulent activity aimed at deceiving consumers.
They are frauds
They are frauds. I received a letter about a debt I do not owe. Do not.pay this company anything at all. Call the company they say they are collecting debt for and that company will tell you if you honestly owe. I do not owe money to *** and this company better stop sending me a bill to collect money they are not owed.
Have no clue why I owe them money, does not tell me the vendor or when this transaction took place. Please advise.
I recently interacted with this company on behalf of my mother, who has a heart condition, and was needlessly stressed by this company. ACI goes after people for passed due *** accounts, While some accounts may be accurate other are not. ACI also pursues, what I consider, OBVIOUS fraudulent accounts (gibberish emails, a name, address ,and phone numbers,) but have no date of birth or social security or information to verify identity. They, seemingly on a whim, pursue people in hopes that they may not look into it and pay. Dealing with their representatives is frustrating as they go in circles, and, from what I can tell, employ distraction techniques to attempt to steer the conversation away from the direct answers. I'd consider recording all calls with this company. They told me *** sent this collection to them, but if I contacted *** I would automatically be forwarded back to ACI. A *** search showed me many other people have had similar experiences. You would think after so many, obviously fraudulent cases, they would have a system in place to prevent the same mistakes from repeating. Makes me wonder how they maintain their rating on the Complaintsboard.com. While the system and its loop holes are likely the bigger issue, companies are supposed to have good morals and ethics. I t seems to me this company utilizes loopholes to maintain reputation and good standing on the official capacity, such as with Complaintsboard.com. At the end of the day, my mother spent her life building her credit to get where it is. She could've easily paid, out of fear of the consequences to her credit. These type of collections put people with lack of understand and knowledge of the credit/debt system at risk. in my opinion these are legal scams.
I received a letter from a company claiming I owe money, but my account is empty and it's not on my credit.
I received a letter from a company yesterday claiming I owe them money, even though my account balance is $0.00 and there's no debt on my credit report. This company doesn't lend money; it's your own funds you use! I wish scammers would cease such grand theft, especially during a difficult pandemic.
Same as everyone - This is a complete fraud/scam. Disregard them! Why they are allowed to operate still blows my mind. Probably terrorists stealing money from us so they can attack us...
This company has sent me a notice stating it is attempting to collect a debt, from ***, I have no such account where I could possibly owe a debt to ***, based on this I have filed a complaint against this company in hopes that they will cease this type of fraudulent activity attempting to dupe consumers!
I received a letter from American Coradius International saying I owe $552.33 to *** Inc. I've never had account with *** inc and will want this issue/scam resolved
This company American Coradius hacked the phone number of my office to use as they made calls all over the country trying to get people to pay
This company American Coradius hacked the phone number of my office to use as they made calls all over the country trying to get people to pay off debts. So as AC made calls and left messages or just hung up the people they called would see the number and call ME back. the people told me they didnt even have any bad debt but how would I know? Such scumbags in this world.
Like all the other complaints, I received a letter and have been getting endless phone calls saying they are attempting to collect a debt and saying I owe *** $1,996 but they will accept a partial payment of $1,497.01. And just like all other complaints this is complete and total BS. Earlier this year someone STOLE money from me via a *** account in China (which equaled around this amount) and I ended up getting that money back in full with the help of my bank so I have all the paperwork to prove this was fraud and money was stolen from me. I haven't even used a *** account in YEARS. Either *** is attempting to steal this money back from me or this company somehow got a hold of this information and is trying to use that to make some money off of me. I will absolutely not be paying them anything. So far this has not shown up on my credit report but if it does and they don't leave me alone, legal action will be taken. I hope nobody has been tricked into paying anything to this company!
I receive intermittent letters and calls from this company claiming I owe *** money, but it does not show up on any credit reports. This is not a valid collections operation.
i receive a letter fro this company yesterday saying i owe *** inc a certain amount of money when my account is 0.00 and its not on my credit report as debt.. and *** does not give you money its your own money you are using! i wish scammers would stop this type of grand larceny.. we in the middle of a d*** pandemic!
Started the same as everyone else with a letter of collection. We've been a victim of ID theft recently and thought this was part of that. We actually CALLED the collection company and determined within 5 minutes that it was in fact a fraudulently opened account using a fraudulent email address. The ACI representative was extremely helpful and stated he would remove the debt from their rolls and send it back to Paypal, Inc, who is their main client. We actually investigated ACI before moving any further to ensure they are legit, and it appears they are. What amazes me in reading the reviews that I haven't seen anyone say that they called the company to find out what the problem was and they didn't report doing any research on them.
I received a letter from ACI about a debt collection attempt for $828.31 with a reference number.
I received a letter dated August 10, from ACI trying to collect on a debt for $828.31, offering a settlement of $372.74 if paid by 8/21. I verified my credit reports and contacted the creditor, confirming no debt owed. I suspect a scam and request removal from all related contact lists.

I received a call claiming my credit account was due, but I don't have one.
I received a phone call claiming my credit account was overdue, which is surprising since I don't have one. When I inquired about the seller, they couldn't provide any details. It's unreasonable to expect compliance when information is missing. The red flag was the specific dollar amount of $93.12 mentioned, which made no sense to me. If ACI is striving for legitimacy, it's crucial to look into who is impersonating their collection agency.
Like all others before me have said I've been getting letters from this company & an individual even came to my home knocking on my door saying
Like all others before me have said I've been getting letters from this company & an individual even came to my home knocking on my door saying I have an amount owed of $1,128.88. From a *** account I don't even have & using it from a buyer they won't even disclose; add to the fact they even have my name & address wrong on the letter they sent me. THIS IS A SCAM! I've been trying to call the number provided but its always busy regardless what time of the day you call.
I could not submit this review without providing a star rating
I could not submit this review without providing a star rating. I am not happy with providing a rating of one star. My rating would be zero. This company calls my office phone daily trying to collect money from a third party. I have requested from the company to stop generating these calls more than once. This company is in direct violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I want the calls to stop. If they do not I will have no choice but to consider taking legal action.
WOULDNT EVEN GIVE THEM 1 STAR !
WOULDNT EVEN GIVE THEM 1 STAR ! Received a letter stating I owe $3,553.93 which was supposedly from ***.com. I called *** and collection dept as well as there Fraud Dept. And they do not any account under my name. This is not my account and is Fraud. I also received a call from this Collection Agency and advise them that I do not owe this dept and they are FRAUD and I will be reporting them to my attorney. And I also advise them to Stop calling and stop sending me notices THIS IS A SCAM !

After receiving a phone call which was not intended for me, I let them know that I was on a do not call list and to leave me alone. Immediately following me hanging up, I received yet another phone call which I let go straight to voicemail. To my surprise, there was a voicemail from "No Caller ID" which threatened me to "be careful what you say to people" and "hope that other people aren't crazier than you are". Regardless of this being a collections agency, an employee threatening someone because they didn't welcome calls from call centers in incredibly unprofessional and should be immediately dealt with.

As previously stated, if I could rate this company with MINUS stars I would. I've read all the complaints and regardless of the fact that they respond with some excuse to these complaints, they are in fact scammers. I just received a "collection" letter for an account I've never had and will be writing both the business they refer to in their collection letter and to them to cease and desist. I'm sure many people just pay the amount rather than being bothered to pursue the matter. Disgraceful! I've read the Terms and Conditions of posting this complaint and I don't understand why the complaintsboard.com doesn't consider complaints when rating a business. Shouldn't the rating of a company that perpetrates scams be affected by their illegal activity?

i concur with others that it is very fishy that all these scammer letters are sent out from this company
i concur with others that it is very fishy that all these scammer letters are sent out from this company. I too, received a letter dated July 10, on July 20, stating that I owe *** $1,465.00 & have 30 days to dispute it. They would take a partial payment of $1,098.76 but the *** account would be frozen until it was all paid. This is a giant SCAM, mail fraud, & something that needs to be addressed by the FBI. I called *** & i have nothing against my account, which i knew. I have sent a registered letter of dispute to ACI. & had better receive a letter from them zeroing out that so-called account. This is an outrage! If this company is not involved, why hasnt it checked out this fraudulent practice? Innocent people are being victimized & terrorized. I would rate this company MINUS-10 at least!

This debt collection agency is a legitimate business
This debt collection agency is a legitimate business. They act as a 3rd party to help resolve credit issues with a MAJOR online money service provider. I discovered that someone had used my name and address to open a fraudulent account with a very popular online money transferring provider (omitting the name of the business because I see it crossed out in other reviews.) I received a notice in the mail from ACI stating that I had a negative account balance with this online provider, but this is not true. When checking my own personal account with said provider, I showed a zero balance. Turns out, someone had used my name (misspelled) and address to open a fraudulent account with this provider. The provider then partnered with ACI to collect on this unpaid debt. So while fraud is involved, it's not on ACI. I called both this online provider and ACI to resolve. ACI customer service was extremely helpful in marking this as a fraudulent account and I will not be held responsible or liable for the fraudulent debt.

Got letter 7/21 from ACI about a specific account
Received a letter dated 7/21 from ACI regarding a particular account. I reached out with a family member who provided authorization on the account. Requested proof of debt with Edward from ACI; a letter is attached. I called ACI and spoke with supervisor Michael F on 8/17, who also confirmed there was no credit reporting. During the conversation, we reviewed purchases, credits, and payments. Michael agreed the paperwork confirmed a $0 balance, and suggested I might be owed money. He sent a message to a colleague and instructed us to call back for an update. On 9/13, I spoke with a female representative who indicated the colleague hadn't responded and advised us to call again. She provided a number that went to a private line as noted on the letter. I contacted the individual B using the number on the letterhead, but they couldn't find the account balance. I called ACI again on 9/14 and spoke with Chris, a supervisor, who was uncooperative, refused to review the document, claimed Michael F was misinformed as he doesn't work in that department, and refused to provide a timeline for a response. Chris was evasive, focusing on everything but a resolution, and mentioned the number on the letter was incorrect.
I received a debt collection notice on behalf of ***. I do not have any debt with ***, rarely use it ever, and signed into my account today and found this claim of debt to be false. Therefore I am reporting this company as a phishing scam. And seeing all of the other complaints here should be an alert that this company needs to be investigated for phishing and fraud!
I received a letter from American Coradius International LLC telling me they represented *** and I owed them over $10K. They told me if I wanted to dispute this, I should respond by 9/12/2022. The problem is that I have been in communication with *** about this matter and to the best of my knowledge, I am still in the investigative stage of this matter. In other words, *** has had no reason to turn it over to collections when there have been counter disputes about this matter that have still not been resolved. Additionally, there are charges owed since 2019 that I have never been told about nor has *** ever contacted me about these 2019 charges. I not only have solid ground to dispute this charge, I have done so with *** directly so I don't understand why this collection firm is even contacting me! They need to let the original creditor *** finish addressing this matter before they take over.
Received a collection bill from them representing *** saying I owe 333.74. I do not owe this amount, my account balance is at 0. They are saying if I don't call or write to them they will assume the debt is real. I feel this is basically a scam to get people to pay money they don't owe. The reference number they gave for this fake amount was ***. Please resolve this and report this business as fraudulent. Thank you
I received a letter from American Coradius International LLC claiming I owe money to a company.
I received a letter from American Coradius International LLC claiming I owe several hundred dollars to a certain company, which they are tasked with collecting. When I contacted the company in question, they confirmed that I do not have any outstanding debt. Despite this, ACI LLC was aggressive and demanded my personal details. They even offered to accept $363.91 as a partial payment for a non-existent debt. Although I'm not a legal expert, the situation seems like a fraudulent claim. ACI LLC's letter, identifying themselves as debt collectors, appears to be an intimidation tactic to collect an invalid debt. I am prepared to share the letter from ACI LLC and my correspondence with the company that confirms I should not pay ACI LLC.
I received a "collection" notice from this company saying I owe *** $100. I don't even have, nor have I ever had, a *** account. This is fraud, and if they don't remove this immediately from any record and this affects my credit score, I will sue both American Coradius and
I received letter from AMERICAN CORADIUS INTERNATIONAL LLC, dated 8/23/22, about a debt of $50, that i owe ***. I have not used *** for years now. After resetting my password, i did not find any notifications regarding an overdue debt. Please remove my name from from collections. I think this is scam. Reviewing my emails on 04/08/22 i received an email from *** that i ordered a Compact Pistol on 02/02/22, and they were seeking payment of $175.74 for order #***. I ignored this email since i never ordered any pistol. Please remove my name from collections and erase this debt that has been placed under my name.
I received a collection letter wrongly stating I owe $2,241.74 USD
I received a collection letter from a debt collector wrongly stating that I owe $2,241.74 USD. This is incorrect; I do not owe any money. A buyer had filed a dispute, but the decision was made in our favor, and the entire amount of $2,226.74 USD was covered under seller protections. Additionally, the $15 Dispute Fee we were charged was returned to us, totaling $2,241.74. Hence, we do not owe any money, and the collection agency has acted in bad faith by claiming otherwise. I have uploaded three supporting documents. The lack of an email address to dispute debts is unfair. The only option is sending a letter, which is unreliable and slow, and during this time, they report to credit bureaus. People should not be burdened with the inconvenience and cost of sending certified mail, especially those without easy access to transportation or those who may be disabled. Their actions constitute bad faith and unfair business practices.
I received a collection notice claiming I owe $704.52.. I do have a *** account BUT I have never been contacted by *** stating I owe them anything. When I looked online with ***, my account balance is $0 and the account hasn't been used since July . When I called American Coradius to ask when the charge was made and to whom it was paid to they don't answer the phone or return my calls. American Coradius International (2420 Sweet Home Rd Ste 150, Amherst NY [protected]) said the original charge on 4/11/22 was $20.53. They applied $684 in late fees by 8/1/22. This is not my debt. This is fraud. I've received no bills or calls from *** about owing them any money or any overdue debt. They referenced ***, account ***, account balance $704.53 I see over 400 complaints against this company. Can they really be legitimate? Thank you for your help.
I received a letter regarding the *** debt which is not mine. I don't have any account with *** and don't know where you get my info to send me the letter. Please kind to close that case linked to my info and remove my info from your system permanently. Thanks!
I received a letter from American Coradius International LLC saying that I owed money to ***, Inc. Problem number one, I have never had nor do I ever plan to have a *** account. Problem number two, according to the letter I owed $67.93 as of 07/10/22 and that there were additional debits applied to the account of $338.00 making a total debt of $405.93. There is no explanation as to what the additional charges are. This is an absolute scam, how can someone owe money to a company that they have never done business with, and that cannot claim that I had identity theft because I do not even shop online. Someone really needs to look into this company to find out how they are getting away with these scams and making themselves look legit.
I received a collection letter from American CORADIUS international LLC , . They claim to represent ***. I do not owe *** any money. This is not a legit company.

Received a dubious debt collection letter from American Coradius International LLC
I received a collection letter from American Coradius International LLC dated November 1, identifying a debt owed to an unnamed creditor; with account and reference numbers omitted and an account balance of $3875.56. I maintain a zero balance with the creditor in question and do not recognize this debt. Upon contacting the agency, I was advised to refrain from further calls for a few weeks, which I suspect is a delay tactic to miss a response deadline for a potential lien. Previously, I was contacted to verify my address for an account I never held, ending with the caller's acknowledgment of mistaken identity. This situation bears the hallmarks of a scam, and there are numerous similar complaints about ACI and the unnamed creditor.
The only possible incident is when i contacted *** immediately to cancel my account and let them know what was going on. I had tried to pay my *** bill on line and figured out it was not *** and they was trying to take all our money from our checking account. myself and my husband had to completely change our account # at ***n and we ended up still losing over a hundred dollars. If someone actually owes *** it would be the person that ripped us off and caused us all the trouble. I always paid for anything i ordered on line up front and i know for a fact i do not owe nothing to ***. We do not know alot about computers or how to do much of anything on line and that is why i canceled the *** and will not ever try to pay any of my bills on line again. But we do however know we do not owe 951.11 to no one. The notice we received in the mail states the reference# is***, account #***. creditor: ***,inc. and balance $951.11. Thank you for all you can do in this matter.
I received a letter in the mail from American Coradius International stating I owed *** 4700 and that I spent 2500 this past month. My credit due to identity theft is on lockdown and frozen. I check my report often and this activity is not on there. This is a fraudulent claim. American Coradius International is the Company. . I do not have a *** account, nor have I spent 4700.00. This is a fraudulent claim. I have mailed them back but if this is a scam, it needs to be recognized.
I received a notice from American Coradius International LLC saying that I owe $583.03 plus $24.00 in fees to ***, Inc with reference ID-***. I have not used my *** account in years. I did log into my *** account and owe no money. I believe this is a scam and that American Coradius International is trying to extort money from me threatening collections.
I contacted the company immediately to cancel my account due to a scam incident.
The only possible incident is when I contacted the company immediately to cancel my account and let them know what was going on. I had tried to pay my bill online and realized it was a scam attempting to drain our checking account. My husband and I had to change our account number at the bank, and we still lost over a hundred dollars. The person responsible for the scam owes the company, not us. I always paid for online orders upfront and I am certain I owe nothing. We're not tech-savvy, which is why I canceled the service and won't pay bills online again. We're sure we don't owe $951.11 to anyone. The notice we received listed a reference number, account number, and a balance of $951.11 from a creditor. Thank you for any assistance in this matter.
on Feb 27th I received a collection notice from ACI for 904.00 from a company
On Feb 27th, I received a collection notice from ACI for $904.00 related to a company. I have always been punctual with payments and have even settled amounts exceeding $400 on multiple occasions. The company restricted my account usage due to unspecified activities. When inquired, they declined to provide details. My only recent issue was with a misidentified Californian company, which was actually based in China. After a lengthy three-month wait, the items received were unsatisfactory. Unable to contact the company directly, I sought assistance from the payment service, which advised me to return the items and provide proof of shipment, which I complied with. Subsequently, my access to the payment service was revoked without explanation. As a consistently reliable customer, being sent to collections is unjustified, especially with an incorrect debt amount. Furthermore, the company's restrictions prevent me from accessing my account, compounded by repeated password changes due to ongoing account issues.
I received a debt collection letter from American Coradius International LLC
I received a debt collection letter from American Coradius International LLC. The letter stated I owed *** $39.99 and was being placed with them for collections. They were attempting to collect the debt. I explained to them I do not have a *** account. That this is fraud. I contacted *** and confirmed that this was in fact a fraud account but nothing was ever changed on the account and they did not put it in collections with this company. This company tries to collect money from unsuspecting people who think it's legitimate or legal. When I spoke to *** they said they never sent this to collections and closed the fraud account that was under my name but never had anything changed on it. Please contact American Coradius and have them refrain from contacting me with this incorrect information. I called *** Collections and suggest others do the same to verify if in fact they sent your account to collections and if in fact, you owe them any money. Someone is scamming someone with these debt letters, that are a lie. Any help Complaintsboard.com you can give me would be appreciated.
I don't know why I would owe PayPal $104.70 and they mentioned PayPal will accept $78.53, especially since I've not accessed my account for
I don't know why I would owe PayPal $104.70 and they mentioned PayPal will accept $78.53, especially since I've not accessed my account for year's as well for any Credit with PayPal is impossible as well because my direct payments with them are still active and haven't had any issues other than the fact I can't access or update my account. Also how would PayPal or this Company have my current address as well when I've not used this address or updated any of my accounts in PayPal since relocating from Hawaii. Most of my billing is attached to my Hawaii address in PayPal payment source accounts? So I'm very skeptical as I've tried contacting PayPal to no avail, or anything stating on my statements other than payment has been made from my direct scheduled payments. I also just had cleared my name with the IRS for Identity Fraud and this seems very odd as well with the information or contacts on letter differs from website? No email or contact to dispute other than mailing directly which is rough now with pandemic and the USPS issues with the new Post Master General Mr. DeJoy causing delays to postal mailings.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Yesterday in mail from the USPS, I received two separate collection letters in two separate envelopes showing two different "account" numbers
Yesterday in mail from the USPS, I received two separate collection letters in two separate envelopes showing two different "account" numbers from American Coradius International LLC ("ACI") to me at my home address indicating (on both letters) that they were attempting to collect a debt for Creditor ***, Inc. The reference numbers on the two letters are *** and ***. I do not now, nor have I ever, used ***, Inc as a creditor and do not now nor have I ever had any credit affiliation at all with *** Inc. I checked my credit reports and no such information is to be found that would indicate any such affiliation. I have received no prior letters nor any type of communication from anyone concerning any alleged related accounts nor from this company prior. The letters say that I owe $362.79 and $347.79 and they will "accept" lesser amounts as "partial" payments. I contacted *** and they show no record of the corresponding "account" numbers listed on the letters and further, the numbers are not even consistent with the structure of *** credit account numbers. I feel this company (ACI) is sending out arbitrary collection notices in an attempt to receive payments in what looks to be a fraudulent scam.
On February 28, 2022, I received a letter from a collection agency about a debt to a company
On February 28, 2022, I received a letter from American Coradius International, LLC, a collection agency, indicating that I owed a certain company $3,861.37. I contacted the agency and informed them that I never had an account with the company in question. The representative mentioned an unfamiliar email address linked to the account and requested a reference number. He promised to inform the company of the dispute. I attempted to reach out to the company directly, found a contact number on their website, and explained the situation. The person I spoke with confirmed that I do not have an account with them. I was told I would be connected to their Collection Department but was disconnected after a long wait. I am confused by the correspondence from both the collection agency and the company and would appreciate assistance from complaintsboard.com in resolving this issue.

On November 30, I received a letter from American Coradius International LLC (ACI), dated November 20, that states they are collecting a debt of $62.90 on behalf of ***. I knew I had no outstandting debt with *** but just to be sure I called them. ***'s representative checked my account and there was and is no outstanding debt. I informed the *** representative of the ACI letter I had received and they suggested I send a copy to their ***@***.com email address. Looking up ACI on the Internet, I found that they have numerous negative Google reviews many of which state that they also received notifications from ACI on behalf of *** for non-existent outstanding debts. It is more than obvious that ACI is scamming unsuspecting victims with false claims of indebtedness. On their letter, payment is to be sent to their Amherst, NY address but the return address on their correspondence is Imaging solutions, ***-8288. This business front collects their mail from the ACI address at *** but actually has a physical address of *** I suspect that ACI's headquarters has field representatives who send out fake debt notices on their behalf throughout the country but other than this one in ***, TX, I have no proof of that.

Dear Sir:
I am writing to report a fraud initiated by a business in your area, American Coradius International LLC of Amherst, NY.
The attachment is a copy of a letter which was sent to a rehab facility which has not treated the addressee (***) for over 10 years and was forwarded to me. Although *** had been treated temporarily at this facility she did not live at this facility but lived at a nearby retirement home at a different address. She moved from this retirement home over ten years ago to s sequence of different retirement facilities in different cities and died over a year ago.
As her son and the executor of her estate i know that she never had an account with *** Bank such as alluded to in the attached letter nor have any prior attempts been made to collect such an alleged debt.
I do not intend to directly respond to American Coradius International LLC regarding this obvious fraud nor do I expect them to aggressively pursue such a small amount of fraudulently claimed debt. But collections by the business of any number of small fraudulent claims such as this can potentially constitute a significant sum and is wrong which is why I want to make your office aware of this type of fraudulent activity by this business in your area. I hope that a sufficient number of complaints can be used to stop this company from continuing this sort of activity.
Respectfully

They are frauds. I received a letter about a debt I do not owe. Do not.pay this company anything at all. Call the company they say they are collecting debt for and that company will tell you if you honestly owe. I do not owe money to *** and this company better stop sending me a bill to collect money they are not owed.
SCAMMERS! I received a letter for a debt I do not owe. I directly contacted the company they claim sent my account for collections, and they confirmed I owe them nothing and to report the company as scammers. HOW is this company in business?
This company American Coradius hacked the phone number of my office to use as they made calls all over the country trying to get people to pay off debts. So as AC made calls and left messages or just hung up the people they called would see the number and call ME back. the people told me they didnt even have any bad debt but how would I know? Such scumbags in this world.
