One of the staff members, a young lady, argued with the volunteer checking me in that my appointment was not on her list. I suggested that she refresh her computer screen. We set down, I gave her my rapid pass and she shouted that she asked for my license or ID and not my rapid-pass. She then looks at me and says, " I am not going to do this", she gets up and has a tatooed gentleman take my information. He was professional. I could not donate because i ahd given only five weeks previously and she starts laughing out-loud as I am leaving. I have donated blood for years and have never had this kind of rudeness.
These folks are very unprofessional and should not be interacting with the public.
Desired outcome: Never let this young lady work with the public again- she has issues.
Liars
Red Cross is suppose to help for fires instead they turn single males down or lie and say the funds was issued to the landlord on a case I was added to how can another individual get funds or help for someone else without documentation so a person can just give your name to get help or funds for themselves that’s what I was explained to by a supervisor after he called me back and asked why did I lie I responded so you gave another individual help for me without my identification or social security information since I was added to another case to you have any records of me on file he stated no I said don’t you need some type of identification to get help he said yes but none of mines are on file

I would like to make a statement in regards of Amy Grimm I am putting in writing the very displeasing situation that occurred in the Helping Hands Warehouse Fort Knox KY Friday May/12/2023 at 12:40pm. Upon arriving, this being my second time visiting the warehouse since living on base. I was rudely asked to move my daughter hair away from the fan at the entrance. which I could clearly understand the safety issue. then I was told that I could not go in with my 6-year-old daughter unless I carried the whole time in my arms to which I said is fine, I'll carry her since we're going to be just 20 min. The whole time this occurred I was accompanied by my disabled father. As I took I few steps forward with my daughter in my arms Amy Grimm with a belligerent voice repeated once again, questioning are you going to carry her the whole time? To which once again I said yes. And again, with a racist attitude she starts detailing - you cannot put your daughter on the floor, you cannot put her in the shopping cart, you have to keep her in your arms the whole time, is that understood and then she tugs on her hat with an expression of disdain. At which point I turn back to ask her what is the problem? Why are you turning a peaceful visit into an issue? You keep repeating yourself I heard you and I know. Then she said if you know then I wouldn't have to be telling you the instructions wouldn't I. Besides you and your father have been in here several times before. to which I made very clear that it has only been my second time here and my father who just arrived from Puerto Rico has never been inside the warehouse. And that it was a shame that persons with an attitude like hers should be the representation of the warehouse or have any responsibility there whatsoever. we then asked for her name, expressing our desire to write a formal complaint. she then gave us her name and laughingly said do whatever you want. we then proceed to leave at which point she says to us "[censored] YOU' when my father turns around to confirm what we both heard. she says with a smirk on her face. I said TUDA LOO'. then she kept repeating Tuda loo as we left. Perhaps thinking that this play on words would change what we both heard and in the presence of a child. This situation is totally unacceptable we expect some notable corrective action to be taken beyond than just an apology. AMY Grimm expressions and attitude denotes that this is not the first time this has happened. her expression do whatever you want when she gave her name denotes a spirit of confidence of a person who thinks there untouchable.
Aid to Ukraine
My friend in Odesa Ukraine was contacted that she would receive humanitarian food. When she arrived to get the food she was told it was a one time offer and she had received hers in December. She has received nothing. They tell them that and then take their food and sell it. Theft and corruption is everywhere. I do not expect this from the Red Cross. Her name is Alina Ivashkova and she and her daughter need help.
Desired outcome: Stop the corruption.
Different treatment then neighbors
All of my neighbors around me which is each home is 10ft apart received financial assistance after ian we had two red Cross workers walk down our street and seen our home was destroyed and had 54 inches of water inside red Cross said my address had minor damage my house is gone along with all 8 neighbors around me I'm having a hard time understanding why I was the only one singled out here in Bayside estate I've showed them pictures of my empty lot a loan from FEMA s SBA they don't offer that if you didn't have your home destroyed someone needs to check in to why we were singled out Thanks

Family Emergency Leave
November 17th, 2022
My husband is an active duty Army service member and we've received unfortunate news stating that our father (his dad) had a stroke, and we're currently on Family Emergency Leave.
We've contacted the orderly list of contacts to make family emergency leave possible. However, Red Cross has denied our leave due to our father's discharge from the hospital. IT SHOULD NOT MATTER IF OUR FATHER WAS DISCHARGED FROM THE HOSPITAL WE NEED TO GO SEE HIM BEFORE HIS HEALTH BECOMES FATAL.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate empathy instead of ruling out an emergency due to a discharge of hospitalization . My husband, and I deserve to see our family while we are here in Hawaii serving everyone else with their families.
Housefire
I was recently living with a friend and she had a house fire and we lost everything.she went with her dad to get assistance.when I went a few hours later they acted like I was lying and didn't live there at all. They even called her parents to see if I was living there and they said no one lives there but her because they didn't know they never come around unless she calls for cigarettes or need to go to store.she said her dad told her the insurance would not cover anyone but her so they lied my point is they have plenty of money and insurance I have no money lost my job when I came down with covid and I'm staying in a tent now because I have no one but my husband and he was injured on the job and is now trying to get disability .I feel like I should have gotten something instead I was treated like [censored] I told them the neighbors knew I was living there but she said your not living with me your just staying here.whats the difference I don't have a clue the salvation army called and told them I had no where to go but they didn't care I even pushed a shoping cart down there with my burnt belongings and left in front of their door and I Left a note that said does this look like one night of clothes to you no the cart is running over I tried to explain the situation but all they wanted to do is try to make me look like a lier .They even called the fire Marshall and he told them I was there when he arrived about three in the morning.THEY EVEN HAD THE NERVE TO SAY THAT I DISAPPEARED WHILE THE HOuSE WAS BURNING .I told them that was a lie I sat right on the side walk the whole time except when the fire Marshall ask me to speak with my husband when I walked three houses down to get him she was the one who called her dad told him the house was on fire he came and got her and I never seen her again until the late evening .Her mother which I have never met until today because they don't get a long showed up while firemen was there and I was the one to ask if she was the mother she responded yes so I left and went three houses down to the neighbors where my husband was.She told me to tell them that we have only been there a day so her insurance would cover and I was also ask about smoke detectors I said as far as I knew there wasn't any .They ask if I heard them gong off during the fire I responded no .She told them her dad made sure there were working detectors in the house and I do believe that to was a lie .It had never seen nor heard any since we have been there It was like everthing she said was Gospel and I was a lier when the truth is she was doing what daddy told her so he wouldn't cut that money off .
Incoming donations delayed as supervisor booked future appointments
All incoming appointments (3 at all times I was there: 9:35 to 10;05were delayed AS supervisor focused her time on "booking" future appointments. Three to four of us waited she abandoned incoming her registered donor in favor of first one, then two, donors who completed donation, then she elected to empty trash while 3 of her employees were idle.
She acted as though she received a commission for booking future donors. Why? I politely advised her I was trying to squeeze in a donation before work and needed to leave within 5 minutes if not on table. In turn she said to fellow employee, "I get yelled at if I don't make bookings and yelled at when I do!"
This when sitting in front of me by 2 feet and I never yelled at her. Next she states she needs another employee to complete my intake as she had to fix the music.
When donating I overheard her "chirpy" sales voice pressuring male donor to do power red. I thought to myself, "he's never heard or conside4red this donation and has not time to think it over before she's loudly praising him and advising staff to get special bags. Happily he spoke his mind and elected to go with regular blood donation. Seriously, does she get a commission for booking future donations and triple for power red?
Should I choose to make my 17th donation it will be at Laguna Hills or never again!
Desired outcome: Cease prioritizing future bookings (how unlikely is it one can predict good health 56 days in advance)forfeiting time of on site donor? or pressuring donor in to power red with zero time to consider it?
Disaster Relief Funds Debit Card
Hi unfortunately I has a total loss fire in May 22, 2022 in the late afternoon and received a prepaid credit card. It was almost 10pm when I received the card and the instructions may have been explained about using the funds in 60days however due to the shock of the incident not much may not have been retained. I had no permanent place to store anything so I did not use all the funds on the card and when I finally got a place I was attempting to use the debit card the card had already expired. I did call the number on the letter in the last part of August attached to the card however I have yet to receive an information as to what happened to the balance
Desired outcome: I would like to receive a card with the remaining balance
Donating Plasma
On 8/22/22 I donated Plasma. Everything went well. The young man put the needle in my vein perfectly. Everything was going well until the blood return. It felt like my arm was going to explode. Then I fainted. They took care of me and I thought everything was fine. When I left I fainted driving home. My arm swelled up and I felt horrible. The next day my arm was purple. Take a look at the pictures.
Donating blood
I was supposed to donate blood today. The person checking me on did not even know how to take a pulse. She used the wrong size BP cuff on my arm. Then she wants to argue that the size of cuff does not matter. If that's the case why make different sizes. By dealing with the incompetence and getting to hey them to be reasonable my blood pressure was just over the limit and they won't let me donate. My time and hailing are washed doing this. I will NEVER donate blood to them again. The reason people don't come back is the incompetent people you have to deal with when you go to donate.
Desired outcome: Stop calling me, so not all for donations. Quit wasting my time and gas.
American Red Cross
I am a decided to be a frequent donor of blood to the American Red Cross.. I made an appointment to donate blood in Pensacola Fl. The appointment was for today (08/10/22) at 3pm.
I confirmed my appointment after an automated text was sent inquiring of my arrival.
I responded with Y which indicates I will donate blood that day at the specified time.
I drove 2 hrs and 15 minutes (one way) from Destin Fl ( tourist traffic on Hwy 98 ) On my arrival to the facility I looked thru the front door window and viewed 3 phlebotomist talking and enjoying the moment. I knocked on the door because it was locked. A lady talked to me with the door closed. She stated that someone on her staff was ill so were all going home.
After getting the day off from work and driving round trip 4.5 hours I was told to go online and make another appointment. I asked why they did not contact me to eliminate the loss of time and money. I was than told they forgot to call me and their was nothing they could do.
I asked if they were with the person feeling I’ll and would they be I’ll also. I was told “yes” and they would not take my blood because they were concerned I might become ill. It appeared that they wanted to go home early from what I witnessed at the door before I knocked.
I called 3 listed American Red Cross phone numbers and eventually talked to 2 people.
One had their dog barking in the background for most of our conversation.
I did hold American Red Cross in high regard.. not anymore.
You can not even take care of the people who want to give you their blood.
Think of the irony in that sentence..
I work for a major airline and may of us donate to American Red Cross..however with my data base and close relationships with many who will be informed of this unacceptable behavior by your phlebotomist.
I want resolution for my time off work , my 4.5 hours driving to your facility and not to mention the cost of gas and wear and tear on my personal vehicle .
Totaling my expenses and loss of income etc
I would expect no less than $400.00
I can not tell you how obvious the blatant lie was regarding the staff member who did not feel well.
I know you take employees temperatures in order to confirm their safety as well as donors... this was not the case so the implication that it was Covid related was unethical and totally unprofessional.
I will continue to voice my experience in any way possible , word of mouth, the pen and my company social media accounts.
People have a right to know how they could be treated by an entity who claims to help people.
I waited outside the American Red Cross building only to view them loading up their equipment approximately 30 minutes after my confirmed appointment.
I have uploaded pics and a video of what I observed.. I look forward to hearing from someone with American Red Cross who considers blood donors an important as the staffs early departure .

I did not get paid for working overtime
This is the most unorganized organization to work for.
The managers and supervisors in the Apheresis department had weekly meetings and sent emails seeking volunteers to cover overtime on the 4th of July. The incentive was you would receive holiday pay, time in half, and an extra $5 per hour worked. I had only been there for two months and did not think I would qualify. I asked my immediate supervisor, who then verified with his manager, and I was told yes, I would qualify. So, I worked on Saturday, July 2nd, and Monday, July 4th.
When I received my pay, it did not show any overtime pay, only regular pay and a $2 rate for the 4 hours I worked on Sat., July 2nd. They said it was premium pay because I worked the weekend. I was expecting overtime pay!
I filed a claim with Payroll and told the supervisor what was going on. After they reviewed the hours worked. I was told 20hrs needed to be worked to receive OT. I worked 30hrs+. The payroll stated management hired me to work 15hrs/part-time, however, my supervisor increased my hours along the way, but no one ever reported it to the payroll dept. to update the change. I have pursued this with the supervisor, and nothing has been done. They are ignoring my messages. I still have not been paid.
Desired outcome: Make it right! I would like to be paid what I was promised.
Donating blood
My 16 year daughter gave blood on July 27th in Randolph,NY. She had a gentlemen that did not know what he was doing with the needle. She was poked a couple of times and the last poke he had to call his supervisor over to help adjust the needle with the nurse that came to help also. Now her arm is bruised because of it. She had donated 8 or more weeks before that at her school and had no problem. Now she doesn't want to donate again. Not very happy Mom here. She was almost in tears on the 27th.
House fire homeless
I have been trying to find assistance for over a week and a half for me and my wife who has had 5 strokes and has onset dementia. We lost almost everything in a kitchen fire in our mobile home. We are homeless and red cross gave me a claim number and then I was bounced around from voice-mail and they said there was assistance given and that was absolutely a lie because they don't know who, where , or when it was given which makes me look like a cheat and liar. Looks like they need an audit.
