Habitat For Humanity International Developer Contract - Breach of Contract

On August 19, 2022 Habitat of Humanity Conyers/Rockdale, Inc. entered into a Development Agreement with Family Community Housing Association, Inc (FCHA) also a nonprofit organization as the Developer to manage the planning, financing and the development of three single family homes. With 70% of the agreement completed, the new board of directors refused to sign the draw forms for reimbursement of funds expenses and a portion of the development fees. The new board president is Muddessar Ahmad.

The new incoming president and board members have managed to have nearly the entire previous board members resign and trying to find an illegitimate reason to get out of the contract development and the administration agreement that they entered into because the new president was installed.

FCHA has financed the clearing of the subject properties and has incurred actual expenses of more than $60,000.

Desired outcome: FCHA want to recover all expenses paid and 70% of the developer fees.

Habitat For Humanity International picking up items

Hi I called and asked the quote for some items to be picked up I sent pictures of the items and also asked do they pick up dishes vases etc. The items were 6 chairs a dinning room table a loveseat dishes and vases The said the dishes had to be in a box. They said the price was $149 in which I agreed and they gave me the day and time they would be over Well they came over and looked at the loveseat and said it had dog hairs on it Really it was in perfect condition and how it could have dog hair on a leather loveseat I have bought numorous items at the habitat in Bellingham Wash & have seen couches that had quit a few snags in the material dishes that have chips & other items tht were not in aone condition but were still saleable the dishes & vases that were being donated were also boxed with tissue on some but not all. The 2 men that came looked at everything and said they would not take the dinning room table as it was warped and the chairs were to damaged okay I don;t have a problem with that but when I said would they take a chair & tv cabinate in which they replied that they don't take tv cabinates and no way would they take the chair which I would say was in perfect condition as they only took the love seat in which it took at tops 15 minutes to remove I asked would they help to take out the couch for me no way they said. Well I feel ripped off for $149 dollars. I recieved a call from a higher up for the company and he was very condecending to me on the phone more or less I was out of luck as they did come in and take out one item I am thoughly disgusted in the service and feel they are only in it for the money not to help you with getting rid of items you do not need anymore. That could go to a family of need. Thank-You

Habitat For Humanity International customer "service"

A cashier got really rude and nasty for me just because I asked her for help in trying to figure out the prices for tile. Very little of the tile in the store was labelled- it was just put on the shelves in a haphazard manner. Apparently, they expect people to magically be able to figure out how much the merchandise costs without any prices. Then, when I asked for help with this, the cashier yelled at me, cussed at me, and called me all kinds of names. She refused to help me, clearly telling me that she didn't care one bit. She wasn't doing anything, just standing around wasting time. By the time I left the store, I was shaking from her abuse. What a horrible person. I have complained to the organization, but they are ignoring me. They call themselves a Christian organization, but this behavior is as anti-Christian as possible. Their stores are dirty and disorganized, and if you can actually find a price for anything, chances are good that it is no cheaper than buying it new. Don't go to ReStores unless you enjoy being the victim of abuse.

Habitat For Humanity International donation of electrical switches and plates and light fixtures

from my warehouse to habitat was the fourth time today that I was cussed at by the man at the Habitat for Humanity donation door, in High Point . I can't believe that the same people who build houses for people would cuss me for donating to many sellable things. Makes me feel like giving to a charity that appreciates the donations. The manager came out and told me that they had to be pickey & don't get offended. I will suggest that this store be audited by the State to see what the real problem is at that store.

Habitat For Humanity International company runnings & policies

I know of a family in Tarrant County Texas that was leasing a home for a year. They had a major repair issue come up that the homeowner "couldnt afford to fix" so this major repair was passed off to the tenate family. The homeowner couldnt file this under her home owners insurance being that we found out later she had no coverage on the home. After the repair a neighbor informed the tenate that the home is a habitat home. After some research it was found in fact that it is a habitat home & the tenate was actually able to find the "special deed" between Habitat & the owner which in fact states the home can not be rented or leased and must be owner occupied only and the owner signature also! At this point the tenate reached out demanding to be paid for the 3rd time for the repair. Then they contacted the habitat location at which this account was through. Made a report of the situation and wad told by Habitat themselves that the home isnt to be rented, the owner had nearly tripled the mortgage amount in monthly rents and was still reaping the tax exemption on the home as well as claiming it as her homestead through the tax assesors office. The owner was served to pay out the loan or foreclose. Habitat allowed the owner 60days to reoccupy the home with no penelties whats so ever. 1 months rent was withheld for the repairs after a verbal discussion between the owner & tenate &the day after meeting with habitat the owner filed eviction on the tenate. The tenate meet with habitat to see if they could help them being they had no place to go & could financially afford to move & the habitat rep referred this family who had done nothing wrong to a shelter. Habitat told this family they couldnt do anything to help them. So the homeowners excuse for leasing the property was that "she didnt read the special lease" and she was trying to bless the tenate the way Habitat had blessed her. But she scammed and financially benefitted from the home.

Habitat For Humanity International New Habitat neighbors

My name is Donna Roosevelt and I have lived in Crystal City for 5 years, we have wonderful neighbors here and we all get along up till the new habitat homeowners had moved in next to an empty lot / I have had legal permission to use for a garden. the lot is 25x82.

I have kept it clean and mowed and maintained this entire 5 years and my neighbors all appreciate this considering the land owner doesn't have anything to do with it. I have asked 3 yrs ago to purchase the lot, due to the children who make the decision of selling and with the permission for me to use it the selling process has been on the slow side.

Jenny and Jimmy Wilson had moved into their habitat home in Nov of 2012.

The wife and I both agreed they could buy 2 ft of the property and put up a fence. her husband is not happy with this, he wants half.
I've wanted to build a garage and there are zoning laws that have to be met.
Since Dec and Jan & just a few days ago, I have had to call the police for several obscene loud and rude behaviors. I have several photos and security footage of his obscene behavior.
They have 5 trash containers without lids that are always heaping full blowing into the east side of my home and yard.
Their dogs continuously running loose and pooping in everyone's yard but their own.
Their children hang on my gate teasing my 2 dogs.
Jimmy is a convicted felon with charges of assault, I can believe this...
Recently the landowner was out and reaffirmed them of my permission to use the lot for my garden, I was asked to move it over the 2 ft and I did. I worked 3 hours tilling and weeding my garden and Jimmy came home and drove up into the lot right through my garden.
Since there were many threats from him to me and unstable words which worried me, I called the police and am now filing harassment charges.
No thanks to his ignorance NEITHER of us are allowed to use this lot until it is sold.
If they are in a habitat home for the low income aren't there any rules or stipulations about purchasing more property?
This is very depressing to me knowing they can get a home for half the cost with no interest on their home, but yet they have money to buy land?
Jimmy is destined to get half of this lot, therefor I will not have enough room for a garage, Thankfully the landowner is considering me to purchase it since I have asked 3 yrs ago, and they know I am okay with a fence for my neighbors.
But with all of this harassment and bullying I would like to know if they have a right to purchase this property at all?
Any information on this would be appreciated..
Thank You, Sincerely
Donna Roosevelt

Habitat For Humanity International bad service

Someone said that after I told them about my Habitat for Humanity experience. I agreed to let Habitat use of my electricity and to store one trailer on my property while building three homes near my rental. I explained that I was advertising the property and May-September is the best time to sell or rent so I needed it to look nice for showings. I was assured there would be no mess. I am supportive of Habitat, having served on the Steering Committee to get it started in my community. I also served on several other Habitat committees and builds for years.

In June 2008 I went to the same representative who promised me there would be no mess, to vehemently inform her that many types of heavy equipment were brought through my yard, which I had not agreed to. They created deep ruts right up close to my house and all through the yard.

I have complained to anyone who would listen but no resolution so far. My choices left are to call a tv station problem solver type people, or get a lawyer to sue Habitat and the volunteer contractors who trashed my property.

Im happy three families will have a new start in life. I believe in volunteering and have been active in over 27 committees. Im also heartbroken that my property and I were treated with such disregard and disrespect. My hope is this will serve to get my yard restored or to get some good advice. I especially hope this will help future Habitat volunteers, commercial and individual, be more respectful of the neighbors.

they were suppose to remove the decking on my roof and repair the sagging rafters. instead they only replaced the shingles and when i showed them they didn't replace the decking because it was still in my yard they took another 30 days and still did not replace the decking. the sag in my roof is now worse and the drainage they installed for foundation runs up hill and is flooding up againist the back of my house right in the area of the 5 foot wide hole they put in the foundation and refused to fix. They say everything is between the contractor and me but, they were the ones who sent the guy there, they paid him even though they seen he did the damages and the contract was not followed. BUT you see they have to pay the guy in order to get their cut. (YES HABITAT GETS A CUT!) They have shown no concern and when I asked them why they refuse to help and why they paid him, , , they say, , "you're not our only client we have other people to help" Did I mention I am a disabled senior with 4 contractors that condemned the work and, I almost forgot it took me an entire day to find all the hidden alcohol bottles they left behind and 3 weeks later I am still picking up nails. and even the "illegal" signing of the extension contract that I was bullied into didn't bug then one bit. True they claim to be a "christian NON PROFIT" but, need i remind you JESUS SAID "Many will come in my name"

I have an affiliate that refuses to fix the problems in our homes (9 units) that are a result of their poor workmanship. They include (but are not limited to): Improperly installed pipes that were approved by the city and proven by an inspector to be improperly installed and lack proper insulation, roofs on both buildings are faulty which are causing siding damage, mold, etc., a radon pipe that has been severed since the day Habitat built the homes 10 years ago and other plumbing, structural etc...to numerous to count. When our HOA President approached Habitat with this info, he was told by their lawyers to stop contacting them. Then, if you try to sell, you have to repair EVERYTHING that was built wrong by Habitat at your cost BEFORE you sell. So forget getting ANY equity. This affiliate only cares about your sob story when it can get them more donations. When you are down and out, they ignore you and refuse to help in ANY way! SHAME! Someone REALLY needs to look into these affiliates that are not properly representing what Habitat stands for. I'm sure the people donating would think twice.

I bought two wall ovens and a cook top from them and one oven heats up to 250 but eventually will heat up to 350 with the help of the broiler. the other oven does not come on at all. The cook top will eventually [ about 30 minutes give or take ] heat up enough to fry and egg. I'm afraid to go back out there because I've already complained about the first oven and the repair man cussed me to high heave all the way to my car and down the road. I am almost 80 years old and am not capable of defending myself against such people, but can not afford to buy another stove and oven. I hooked up all three and feel they should have to take out the bad ones and replace them this time or repair the ones they sold me. Believe me getting into the small area to install and replace these items is no fun and I shouldn't have to put in the third oven because they sell junk. The tag said tested. Don't tell them that though that's why I got chased down the road, I reminded them of that claim. Yes these items look great and if they worked as well they would be super.

I have been in my habitat home for 15 years and my home has been paid off but now that my kids are older and I am disable southern crescent habitat for humanity in clayton county Georgia wants to take it back . Ms Brenda Rayburn the new CEO hasn't been back with habitat a whole month before she started trying to foreclose on everyone home on faith cove in college park. She had gotten in trouble for doing this exact same thing a few years back now she is back in the office doing the same thing again even though we have paper work showing there is nothing owed and we are the rightful owners they are personal taking money and putting it in their pockets for themselves and the receiving federal grant money at the same time these homes were paid for by hud but yet they are trying to charge us double this is supposed to be a non profit organization but at the same time they are calling themselves lenders but yet I don't have a lean on my home to support any kind of loan because i don't have one and never had one . What this so called organization is doing is highly illegal and Ms. Brenda Rayburn should be locked up and brought up on charges for the scam that she is running and when it all hits the fan she will get what's coming to her.

I have been mislead, threatened and down right taken advantage of by this predatory organization who has been mentally and emotionally raping me for the past 3 and a half years. Reason # 1 I did refuse to live in front of a junkyard with a half way house full of predators less than a block away or # 2 agree to take a rehab house that just might blow you and your family to hell cause the stupid contractors assistant don't recognize what a gas pipeline is I guess I'm supposed to let these people kill me and my family all in name Habitat. I have made a YouTube video showing and explaining what is happening to me right now if anyone out there can help me please reach out to me.

I am sorry for what you are going through with these people. I too am now dealing with issues with them what should have been a $69, 000 house will now cost me almost $100, 000 with issues to numerous to count since day one and nothing being fixed by HFH. I at one time wanted to sell it but knew no one would by because where they put my septic looks like someone is buried in the front yard and the wiring had to be redone and I was told had yo be above ground (hideous). This has caused plumbing issues for the years I have been here resulting in several thousand dollars. I may lose my home, but it is my hopes to find more info to be able to serve others who having been taking by these people. I am in Tn and will gladly forward you any info I find that may help you and others.

I too have been taking by hfhmci. They are the worst. People need to start pulling together. These affiliates are way out of control. My house too has to many problems to mention and they refuse to fix them.

Lisa Lyles and Willa Diggins, I'm in the middle of a huge mess with my "dream home" from Habitat. I'm being forced to sell, yet the inspector has a laundry list of items (will cost a lot of money to fix) before the property can be sold. These items were IMPROPERLY installed/built by Habitat. We have roof, plumbing and siding problems to name a few. Also, there was a radon pipe that was severed when the homes were built 10 years ago and was just found. Habitat has been notified, but they do NOTHING! They use people's "down on their luck" stories to get further funding then dump those families with poorly built homes that are not affordable because the homeowners have to fix them. Candace Ayers

we have been signed up for nearly 6 yrs & finally started getting hours a few months ago..everyone in this household has medical issues - this has a decent impact on putting hours in - one woman in particular, is a robot - no emotion whatsoever..she can't understand why medical issues have an effect on putting hours in..she says just get it done. WHY is someone so cold in a position that deals with the public?! she would be better suited to stay away from everyone! what- are people supposed to put hours in when they don't have the strength? how about from the doctor's office or their hospital bed?! NO COMPASSION! she acts like we're a waste of time & we aren't serious about building..part of the reason we're all sick is bc of where we live now! she doesn't have a family to take care of - just her ailing husband (i feel sorry for) - she's even cold about his situation! WHY do these people make a person feel like a criminal when obviously circumstances are out of their control?! CHRISTIAN BASED *RIGHT* i'm christian & i don't treat people like this!

I had a bad experience with habitat for humanity I completed an application at their Newburgh location and after been interviewed I received a denial letter because I have low income. I knew my income was in the guidelines so I contacted them and Milagros said she did not count part of my income because if my 14yrs old son leaves me it won't be counted. Horrible reasoning. No work ethics at all because she didn't want to count my legal income,
