bad customer service
My watch was send for a repair. After the 2d time the watch camed back still not fix. Nothing was done. Was send in for the 3rd time - directy to Sam at Fossil by the store. This time with an extra complaint that the glass is scratched. The area manager at Mall of the North tried to help the first 2 times but stopped returning my calls when I tried to phone her back when I received the watch back without any done again, part gone but I have to pay... I then spoke to Sam at Fossil . They did not fix the innitial problem but did replace the glass. Now after a few moths another part came loose. I went to the store again at Mall of the North. There Martha advised me she remember me but she cannot send my watch in without the book. Never asked for it before...I believe I do have the book but that was not the point. I believe they messed up the 3rd time and thats why another part came loose. The way she handeled me... looking at her fellow staff. I told her that I am going to complain and she just said fine. I walked past the store again and she and her other fellow staff just laughed at me straight in my face. I am a loyal customer for over 20 years. Cannot believe the service one get today! I am thinking of closing my account with the Foschini Group.
quality of the ring
I bought a set of wedding ring and a watch with bracelet in August 2018, I started using my jewellery on 02nd of September 2018 as I was celebrating my 20th Wedding anniversary. On the 26th of October 2018 I took the ring back to the shop at Eastrand Mall, because it was band and out of shape. I was assisted by one of the staff lady, who told me that they will take in the ring for repairs, which might come with the cost if the investigations are found to be that its a normal wear and tear or if found that the damage was caused by myself. The lady claimed that I have applied some sort of pressure on my ring or have carried heavy things that caused the out of shape look. She then told me that the strength of silver is weak as compared to the gold. I then explained to the lady the type of the job I do and my functions in the house that I do, which I believe they could not by any chance result to this if the quality of the ring was up to standard. My Husband was called and notified that the ring has been repaired and we should come and collect, but we must bring R150.00 to pay for repairs, then my Husband needed an explanation and requested the the lady to call me, which she didn't, She then called my husband again telling my husband that we should come to the shop and request to see the shop manager. On the 02nd my husband and I went to the shop and the manager came to assist us. She came with the pack and she opened it and gave me the ring and asked if I was happy with the repairs, I then told her that the ring wasn't mine, surprised she was as I explained my design. We then left and told her we will be back for my ring. When we got there, we were assisted by another lady and she gave my ring repaired. I surely needed answers for the questions I have regarding the quality of the ring which was not detailed or communicated to be at the time of the purchase. I didn't get any help.
jewelry insurance claim
I recently submitted an insurance claim when my jewelry was stolen out of my car.
When i initially took the insurance i was not anticipating that my jewelry will ever be stolen, I am disappointed with the service of the claim and the fact that i was never told that when i leave the jewelry unattended and it is stolen that i would not be able to claim from the insurance i paid for. This is not explained and if i knew this is how you make money when buying the jewelry offering insurance that will not even be useful i would never have taken it.
This is misleading and miss sold at the point of sale.
I believed that the insurance was for loss or theft in this case the jewelry was stolen why would this be declined if i was not in the car, and why not tell me this when i bought the jewelry and took the insurance.
To add to the insult of misrepresentation your claims department did not even have the decency in communicated this i had to call them to tell me they have basically not honored the insurance i paid for.
I will never have thought a company of your standard can commit such an incident act.
resizing of ring
Good day, on the 12 oct 2018 i purchased a ring (item/description [protected]) from american swiss in kuruman and on thr same day i asked them for resizing of the ring which they said if they make it urgent it will cost R200 which will take a week and for normal it will be R100 which will take 2 weeks. But today i went there just to hear that the ring still did not arrive and they didnt even did something from there side to notify me which is a disappointment and thats not what you call customer service
pricing you see is the price you pay
on the 5th October 2018 at 17h30 I went into your Pavilion store to purchase a pendant called a tree of life for my wife. the staff that helped was very helpful until I asked the price.
on the board advertising the price was a price from R 299 to R699, but the item I took was suddenly at R 899 even though it was on the R 699 board.
my complaint is according to regulation I believe the price you see is the price you pay, not the price as the manager said oh this is new stock.
i would have paid the R 899 if it was on the correct board, but too many times its oh sorry we made a mistake and me as the consumer must foot the bill, all your manageress could say was " sorry we made a mistake", well why must I pay for there mistake.
because of there mistake you lost a sale for R 2000 due to staff incompetence as I went across the passage to another jewelry store and bought something else

I had a lay bye of 2 rings at american swiss in king williams town. I am not happy with the quality of the male ring it looks like its been used for years it has scratches although I only took it yesterday and it hasn't been worn yet. The rings are big and I was told that I have to pay an extra r600 to resize them but at sterns when you buy a ring measurements are taken and your given something that fits you from the word go. I'm very much unhappy with these rings and the quality of this male ring I wish I can just return them and get my r12500 and buy something thats of good quality elsewhere.

Hi i had a lay-by for 6 months with American Swiss. First installment was due on the first on January 2018 and last payment was supposed to be in June 2018. I won't lie i was late but was making payments for all the months. When i went in August 2018 to pay the last payment which was R688 i was told that my account has bee credited, which means i've lost the rings and the money that i've paid just like that. When i asked for the manager i was told that she was off i must come back again. When i went to the store again i was told that the manager is still not available i must come back again on the 20th of this month September. I just need to get to the bottom of this and know if this is how American Swiss operate when it comes to their Lay-By so i'll know whether to take legal action or not against them.

Got a watch as a gift brought from the Ballito branch Winx brand for R399 only wore it five days and it had started peeling went to the store with the watch end receipt to get an exchange for a watch of the same value not even for a refund or anything I was told that they couldn't process it since it was bought on account they need the account holder, so know the card holder must travel from Cape Town to Durban just to get a watch exchange what kind of customer service is this cause u only need the buying slip for an exchange this is not a refund does your staff not know what the customer rights policy can you please solve this issue ASAP cause it will affect business not just for them but for the whole mall if that's how customers are treated.

Im so hurt as I write this;
Late December 2018, I returned my guess sunglasses for repairs as they had a loose screw or something along those lines. I have now gone back and forth to the store without any help. I was told to look for the sale receipt which I cant find but I remember I took with to the store when returning them. The last woman to assist me at the store (American Swiss, Airport Junction, Botswana), is the worst to assist. She makes empty promises, excuses of being absent, and now I do not knw what will be her latest excuse for not getting back to me about something which was expensive for me, yet I have no possession of because the people charging me interest on it find nothing wrong in solving the case of 'non return of a customer's goods". Im actually fed up to be honest, ive held my patience for way too long..& months without sunglasses, yet if I default on payment u get into a marathon to make sure you get your money?
I believe someone should have made it their business to communicate with me why I have still not yet received back my shades, and not wait for me to always go to the shop. As a customer, I work hard for my money, and if I spend it on luxury goods, I have no extra to spend on a similar item. I expect to have full use of the item. You are failing us as a company. I just want to scream and ask where my glasses are, and if they are nowhere to be found, where is my compensation and why is it taking me to make afool of myself coz clearly no one is bothered. Are you a company focused on profits only and forgeting where the profits are coming from? To be honest, I am no longer interested in the glasses coz things come and go out of fashion.
Also please let me know why I do not receive my statements online, mail or any other way, yet you email me to remind me of late payments? How would I know If im being charged right or not?

I bought a wedding ring the 20th of january 2018 and got the ring back after soldering in feb 2018. In april I walk in back to the store only to find I lost a stone in the ring. With no hassle I was helped.
In june 2018 I once again had to bring back the ring after another stone is missing.
Huge problem to help me.
After throwing a seen I was help With a attitude.
And guess what once again the same story today in 29 july 2018 and so I was told its the way the ring is used.
The ring has never seen any water and im a manager working with paper and customers.
No I was refused to be help and said sir here is your money, once again not apologising just big attitudes.
The way a customer is treated at the kolonade branch I utterly unprofessional.
With no proudness to the brand.

I bought a engagement ring with 2 wedding bands at american swiss few months ago, today I wanted to combine the 3 rings as I am getting married in august, much to my dissapointment the lady said my rings are not from ammerican swiss even when I showed her the receipt of r 18000 with the insurance slip I tooked out the day of purchace, I dont know how she gets to that statement even if I have proof. Happy customer lost due to this insident

I am very disappointed with the ladies who work at American Swiss (Festival Mall, Kempton Park) . I bought a ring on the 24th of May and I send it for adjustment, they said to me it would take 3 weeks to get my ring back but up to now I haven't received it and it's been 2 months now . Only yesterday that's when they told me that it would take another 21 days to get it back, after I called them, so that's 3 months already. The ladies who works there are very useless and they no nothing about customer service, to me it looks like there is no Manager at American Swiss Festival Mall ( Kempton Park). I am very disappointed with their service, I have asked for my refund and they say I should come get it, they don't care . Useless people.

I bought a ring on layby and paid every month for it. The ring was kept at American Swiss until I have paid it in full. However the wedding was cancelled and American Swiss Eastgate reversed the payments I already made back into my account. The ring was still with them!
I have contacted customer services and they said that I need to go to the Eastgate branch which I have done. Twice! The Eastgate branch has also phoned the call centre on numerous occasions who will then say it will be corrected and then it never does!
The person I have been dealing with at Eastgate is Gugu tel [protected].
Please assist me with this or refer this to the accounts department.

I am very annoyed.
I took my 9ct Gold chain to American Swiss Menlyn Pretoria to be repaired.
I have asked the lady the price and she said that she will have to send it to the workshop first and then only will be able to give me the amount to pay. I booked it in and 3 days later I got a call to say my necklace is ready. I was astonished as I was not contacted with the price for my approval. I asked how much and the lady said she will have to phone me back.
I waited for her call but no luck.
We decided to go into the branch that evening just to hear that it is R574.00 or something.
I said that i am not prepared to pay this amount as no one called with the price.
The manager on duty Wednesday evening 13/06 assured me that it will be sorted the very next morning and she herself will phone me back personally.
I am still waiting!
We also requested a special order for a ring that we are going to purchase, so I see myself as a valued customer and I did not like the manager on duty tone in her voice.

Good day, I am working from 07:30 until 17:00 just outside of town, I have searched on the internet for what time the shop is closing on trading hours and found it show that the shop is only closing at 18:00, so I rushed after work into town but to my surprise I ended up in front of a closed shop. I enquired about trading hours today and a very rude lady told me they are closing shop at 10 to five in the afternoon. Please understand my frustration and explain why on google it shows until 6 at night?

I am a very annoyed customer. My husband bought me a necklace and bracelet for Xmas. Necklace from The Glen and Bracelet from Rosebank. (The Glen had no stock). He was then send to Chresta mall to collect a box for this as Rosebank did not have stock! My bracelet c rings split open when I hooked it on my stove. I took it in to have fixed 2nd week in April! (Mall of the South). I am still waiting for it to be returned? Came back about a month ago was not fixed properly and now have been waiting another 6 weeks?

Hello... My name is boago from botswana. Sometimes last year around august I paid off my wedding ring at american swiss game city. Everything looked fine nd I was happy about it but supprissingly this year around february I noticed a small diamond from it was missing. My hysband took it to the shop nd explained to the store assistant who then denied that that had a ring like that last year. He came back home nd we could'n find the receipt so we gave up. I consoled my self saying that atleast it was'nt noticable. Now this morning I wake up nd I find two bigger pieces are missing from the same ring. Been searching my bed like a mad person coz um failing to understand how they cud have fell off since there is no work I did yesterday coz um in bed rest since last week. Its been more than 6 months but I have not used the ring for anything it was'nt intended for nd I totally believe it have to be assisted in some way.

I went in to your American Swiss Canal walk late this afternoon. I saw a rose gold ring that I was interested in priced on mark down at R1625 on display. I then continued to call the sales consultant for assistance to try on the ring, aswel as confirming with her that this is the correct price displayed. She checked the Barcode and confirmed that this is the correct price, I then asked her again and I then informed her that I would like to purchase the ring as indicated. We proceeded to the counter where I handed my card to her where she then saw that it rang up a more expensive price. She proceeded to call one of her colleagues and very inpolitely her colleague/manager with no introduction told me that the ring is in fact R16000 and infront of another customer told me this is a finger error in a very blunt manner. NO APOLOGY, NO EXPLANATION, NOTHING. She then continued to assist the other customer and at this moment I felt extremely disappointed at the level of service I experienced not considering that I confirmed and asked the sales assistant twice if that is correct. It's really disappointing that this ring is on the main display and there is no one claiming responsibility to check if these prices are correct on a day to day basis. As a customer I have previously purchased all my jewelry from your store and I think this level of service was poor as a customer I expected to purchase this ring for the price displayed.

My Then boyfriend now fiancé purchased an engagement ring from one of your stores, he was unsure of the size and was told he would be able to resize the ring once he proposed. The ring purchased was a P and I am a K size, now we are told that the ring can not be made smaller to the required size nor can a ring be order for the required size as only standard sizes are kept and to make matters worse the diamonds are beginning to fall out. I find I terribly unacceptable as now I am expected to walk around with a ring that will possibly be lost due to the large size difference, how can a jeweller not cater for the unique but only the standard!

I bought the above in sep as a birthday gift for my husband. Spend R3499 on it. The watch stopped working in Mar and I send it in for repairs. Now they phoning me with a quote of R495 for the replacement of a battery. Seriously...what makes this battery so special? This watch is still under guarantee. A battery of R50 last more than 4 years if not longer.
