Years meeting on person
April 6 3.30 pm 1105 shrivers corner rd. Gettysburg pa. Our new advisor. Our person john goblet was let go two days before the meeting. Mark sandoe couldn't or wouldn't answer your questions. My wife asked what was the amount we started in four years ago and what is it to date we put . We also put in a thousand a month. We slammed his hands on the table and stood in front of my wife and told us to leave and he doesn't need to take this. He said take your money elsewhere and stood behind us and made us leave. Aaron Smith was in the meeting.
Mark sandoe. Gettysburg pa office. John goblet was our advisor for for years. He isn't with the company let go two days before meet. Mark didn't answer questions. And told us we aren't on track. John told us for 4 years that we are. Starting with 220k. Put in 48k. For years later we have 280k.wife asked Mark sandoe he slapping his hands on table and stood in front of her and told us to leave and take your money elsewhere. Felt threatened. He pushed us out the office
An RMD that was requested to be withdrawn for 2022 and was never done.
I had requested my annual RMD to be taken out in 2022 and taxes withheld. Not only did we meet our advisor face-to-face about this but also called and emailed. It was never taken care of. We have contacted our advisor several times and nothing is getting resolved. Now we are faced with paying a penalty. I have put a lot of time into trying to resolve this issue and am tired of the runaround. We were to meet on October 24, 2022 but received a call saying our advisor was not available and were rescheduled to November 2, 2022 but again received a call stating our advisor was not available. At that time we asked to have the RMD taken care of and were told another advisor would take care of it. On December 6, 2022 we met face to face with our advisor and, again, asked to have this taken care of. Called twice after that and sent an email on January 3, 2023 asking why we were not seeing the money in our bank account. We were told that it had been taken care of. We have been back and forth for several weeks now only to find out that the money and taxes were never taken out.
Desired outcome: I want the penalty and any other fees we incur covered and/or refunded. I would also like a response Ameriprise stating that this issue is being addressed.

Advisor fired me and did not contribute my 3% into my SRA for over a year. My email is still active. As of last week another employee was using my sign on. I cannot get another job still being active at Stephen Sayers & Associates due to Randall Rice, nor can I rollover because my money is incorrect and yet to be fixed. Can you help me please? Brokerage - falsehoods and poor service
The financial advisor I worked with is nice enough outwardly, but he was evasive and incomplete when asking direct questions about fees charged. He also made promises that he had no intention of keeping. I would remind him of his promises via Ameriprise secure messaging and he would not even provide the courtesy of a reply. He never called back or contacted me in any way unless I practically begged his assistant. Even then he took days and days. I can honestly say my experience with Ameriprise is the worst experience I've ever had with any financial organization. I suspect the company provides little in value to any client with less than several million dollars. I'm disgusted with myself for having thought they might provide decent value.
Desired outcome: I would like some of the excessive fees back which the advisor promised to repay several times.
Agent for ameriprise
On 11-11-2020 my Aunt passed away due to a house fire. Since then we have tried to contact Jean St. Pierre who is suppose to be handling the trust. We never received any response from her at all. Finally my Aunt's daughter contacted Eli Ward and James Thompson who have been wonderful in trying to help us. But to date the acct has not been transferred over to their care. We are now going on 4 mos. and still have no idea what is in the trust acct. Why is this such a big secret. The family would just like to know whats in the trust and how it's to be distributed. Can you please help us.
Desired outcome: Find out what is in the trust and how it is to be distributed.
IRA rollover
My mom died and left me her IRA. I met with her advisor to see what is to be done and followed his instructions but he keeps coming up with more steps and more steps. I m getting the impression he does not want to lose this account to me. Not sure what to do. Not trying to get him in trouble but its been 6 weeks so far and he will not give me any indication of when this will be completed.
Desired outcome: Have the IRA put in my name as per my mom PROMPTLY
car insurance
An Ameriprise-insured driver rear-ended me on the freeway in Southern California in December of 2014. After two years of chronic back pain and associated doctor and physical therapy visits, the Ameriprise Insurance representative belittled and insulted me and claimed that all of my pain was mental and not associated. I obtained legal representation, since their offer was only $2000 despite pages of legitimate medical bills.
It went all the way to a trial in August 2018 in Los Angeles. After 6 days of court with a jury and judge, a verdict of over $1 million dollars was awarded to me for pain, suffering, spinal surgery, and future costs. Ameriprise has just simply not paid. They believe they do not have to. They put the amount on their clients, the insured through Costco. Amerprise led them to a trial by not simply settling with me, then they are legally on the hook for the rest of the over $1million. My surgery and other procedures bills have not been paid, my lawyers have not been paid, and I have had no compensation *despite a judge and jury verdict*!
They have now asked for mediation. What is the point of wasting a week's worth of strangers time in jury service for this case? Would any of us be able to simply ignore verdicts?
annuity scam
Hi
My wife has money in trust with Ameriprise...She is supposed to get 5, 000 a month deposited to her account...
We moved from Florida to Arkansas and changed banks...
We let Ameriprise know and they said her deposit would be two days late...
That was due Jan..28th it's now Feb. the 16th...They keep making excuses...
The Bank of America charged her over 100 dollars to transfer the money...
Her Financial advisor at Ameriprise is Alan Johnson...He Told my wife her money is in a irrevocable trust but just read off a printed paper but showed no proof...
My wife's money comes from a car wreck she was in and it caused her permanent memory problems...I believe he's a crook...A scammer and a thief..
withdrawing from annuities
I have a 95 year old blind mother that has 4 annuities with RiverSource. Mom wants to make withdrawals from these annuities. I called Riversource to set up a withdrawal and was told they needed to talk to mom. I explained that mom was 95 and blind but that she could verify that it was ok to talk to me. At that point I handed the phone to mom and the first question the representative asked her was to give them the 13 digit account number! Mom handed me the phone and when I told the representative that I had already provided that information she said that was not sufficient and my blind mom would somehow have to read them the number! That would not work so we decided to complete an attorney in fact authorization. I have submitted a notarized attorney in fact authorization signed by my mom. Riversource acknowledges receipt of that authorization and acknowledges that it provides full authority including withdrawals and online access. I tried to help mom add two external bank accounts so she could withdraw funds. Unfortunately I made an error on one of the account numbers and the online account was locked. I called Ameriprise (Riversource) and was told that only mom could unlock online access. I live several hundred miles away from mom and for over an hour tried to explain that mom was 95 and blind and has no way to call or to answer any of the questions that they would need answered. On the other hand I am an attorney in fact and have all passwords etc etc. After an hour of being transferred back and forth from customer service to web support and back again I finally asked to be transferred to someone who spoke fluent English. I was transferred and even though the person that answered understood the issue offered no assistance other than to try a three way call to my mom who does not answer the phone. He acknowledged that the attorney in fact (that was sent to me by Ameriprise) gives full authority to make any withdrawal and online access but he would not authorize unlocking the account. He further stated that he had checked with their general counsel and was told that he could not unlock it. It makes zero sense that I can call and authorize a full withdrawal and access her accounts online but I can't unlock online access.. Seven members of our family have investments with Ameriprise/Riversource and, when tax consequences permit, all accounts will be closed.
homeowners insurance
We had a break-in and major vandalism of our home two years ago, filed a claim, and Ameriprise has done everything from cancel our coverage to use all sorts of delay tactics that continue. In 2017 there was a similar claim and a lawsuit, Lopez v. Ameriprise, that ended with a $1.3 million jury award against Ameriprise. As with the Lopez family, our family has had our lives destroyed for two years and counting by Ameriprise dishonesty and delay. They actually paid to have our home gutted down to the bare subflooring with all sorts of demolition, but it was only a tactic to make our home unlivable so they could pressure us to take a low-ball settlement. Eight months ago, against timely procedure requirements, invoked the Appraisal process to determine a reasonable settlement amount to rebuild or replace our home. Instead of doing the Appraisal or seeing to its completion, they have done nothing for 8 months but use it as another delay tactic. We have paid our mortgage for the past two years but are unable to return home, or have a home anywhere, on the road all this time, running up huge hotel bills, another way they try to wear us down so we will take whatever their next low-ball offer will be, and they have done that several times, always a crazy low-ball offer to settle the claim. One thing to watch out for with them is how they make sure you use up your living expenses coverage on your policy which we did about a year ago, so we have to pay out of pocket for our lodging, always eating out, etc. They delay your claim forever so you are under financial pressure and go deep into debt which gives them more leverage to settle for a few pennies on the dollar as to what they are required by law and your policy to pay to restore or replace your home. Watch out for this company. They cannot be trusted to do anything right, and they in fact do everything wrong, even the way they had our home gutted and recontaminated, wasting lots of coverage funds out of spite and meanness. Ameriprise has been fined many millions of dollars for their bad acts, but they just keep it up. If they were fined a few billion dollars maybe it would get their attention. They should be shut down by FINRA and the SEC because they continue to do what they were heavily fined for and it had no effect on their ongoing misconduct on our claim or anyone else's. They have even had us attacked by their Adjuster that 911 deputies had to remove after Ameriprise sent him and took over our home. We will never feel safe at our home again in the slight chance it could be rebuilt. Ameriprise acts like an organized crime group in the way they have harassed us several times now. Their scam includes keeping you on the road, off balance, so they can use their vast resources and organization against us by taking advantage of the fact that we don't have an office or den to sit in to see this claim to a fair end. They are vicious, especially considering they happily exploit my military injuries as a totally disabled Marine Corps veteran. They even caused the loss of my service dog and have ruined my wife's life and the lives of our two boys. A truly sick and horribly destructive company!
I find myself having to file two complaints in the same day against Ameriprise. Earlier today I filed a complaint here about their abuse and delay for two years mishandling our homeowners insurance claim. After posting the complaint I checked my email and saw an email forwarded to me that was from Ameriprise, sent BEFORE I filed the complaint. This is a desperate company, because that email by one of their lawyers is him sending an internal memo at Ameriprise falsely accusing me of making what he childishly calls an "implied threat". Their lawyer asks his handlers including the claims rep mishandling our claim for the past two years and counting, if he should contact the police and FBI. How manipulative can you get? He also asks if he should basically tell mommy on me and then names two of his fellow employees of Ameriprise that he will tell. It is so pathetic that one of the guys he wants to tell is no less than the President of Ameriprise Insurance (someone just as corrupt as he is), and the other is Manager of Homeowners Claims. Apparently Thute thinks it is some kind of crime to tell him that hundreds, thousands, or people have filed all sorts of complaints online and with the authorities for the way they mistreat policy holders and mishandle their claims. He whined about other things, desperately twisting the facts to make it look like I threatened him or someone. This is so ironic, especially since it is Ameriprise that has several times flat out assaulted us at our home and elsewhere, time after time, forcing us to call 911 deputies that have intervened and removed them! Ameriprise has to be the most manipulative and dishonest I have ever encountered in life. They assault us at our home, take it over and destroy it instead of repairing or replacing it, then cry like little girls when I tell their sneaky lawyer that he is as dishonest as they are. Now they have threatened to call the police AND FBI on me, they really sound paranoid and delusional, simply because I told them how pathetically dishonest they are. If you have any kind of coverage or investments with this company you should look into the hundreds of complaints against them, the multi-million dollar fines against them, and then ask yourself if you can count on them to cover you if you have a home or car loss claim. Why would they be fined so much money and have so many complaints against them, and I almost forgot, why would they get a jury award against them recently to pay another homeowner with a claim and mistreatment almost identical to mine $1.3 million dollars including major punitive damages, PLUS the Lopez's legal fees, if Ameriprise was not up to no good like I am saying they are, and hundreds of the other victims continue to file complaint about them. Why hasn't this disgusting company been shut down by FINRA, the SEC and other oversight agencies yet? Surely that is coming! I am so glad I fought for America through several wars in the Marine Corps so I could make it home only to be so badly abused and exploited by such a pathetic company.
transfer of funds
I elected to close my IRA annuity that I had held with Ameriprise/Riversourse for 12 years and roll it over to another brokerage institution. After receiving all the appropriate paperwork they closed my account. In discussion they advised me it would take 8 days from closing the account to issue a paper check that would be mailed to my new brokerage firm. So this puts me out of market for close to two weeks and fattens their return by using my money. This is simply greed. Absolutely no excuse for 8 days to transfer and then not to transfer electronically. Such a shame Ameriprise elected to leave such a bad taste with me.
policy increased more than 100% in one year. no accidents or tickets.
Our car insurance policy wen up over 100% in one year. We have no accidents or tickets and drive at the most 10 miles to work.
I called the company and they just said all policies went up and there is nothing they can do. We have been with same company for more than 10 years.
I emailed Costco to complaint and no response.
I am very disappointed about the company and most of all about Costco not investigating this issue or try to get a better contract with another more reliable company.
unethical behavior
We pay over $550.00 dollars per month to Ameriprise. I called Ameriprise about an auto claim. My son is on our policy. He is 44. No accidents. Someone cut my sons fuel line and we were asked weird questions over and over again. Was the car broken into? etc. My son explained that it was all done outside under car, but the agent made it sound like he left his door unlocked. The agent also asked me if my husband could have done the damage. Ameriprise is well aware that we live out of state. I was in shock! The agent asked other questions that had nothing to do with this small claim. Ameriprise did not pay the claim because it ended up so small that it was under the amount of our deductible. It was very unethical behavior by Ameriprise. Anyway, I reported the lady/agent that asked me and my son the questions and was told she was new and did not understand our auto claim. Now, lets shoot to the present. I got a quote from Ameriprise last week on my son's vehicle. He has always been on our policy. I called again today about the same quote and was told it was the same amount but they needed to talk to my son. Then my son went to finalize the quote and it was up by more than 100.00 dollars. He has a clean driving record. I called Ameriprise agent to ask why the quote was more. She stated someone had tried to contact me last week to adjust to the higher quote. Not true! I explained to her that I just got off the line with an agent who verified the first quote. I asked her why he did not tell me the quote was $100.00 higher. I was so mad I hung up on them.
Auto insurance
It is time for Costco to either cancel their partnership with Ameriprise or do an in depth study of just how incompetent Ameriprise is. Today I received a letter from Ameriprise telling me my car insurance was cancelled. Here is what Ameriprise wrote to me, "This action has been initiated because of a substantial increase in hazrd (sic) due to unacceptable business use of 2002 Jeep." When I called to find out what this meant I was told that I was carting computers around in my Jeep. I don't do that and I am retired. I haven't had a ticket or accident in decades but Ameriprise still refused to insure me.
Costco you can surely find a better insurance company than Ameriprise. Just look at your complaints page about Ameriprise. Costco has given Ameriprise and windfall with their partnership. It is nothing but a boondoggle.

My checking account / ameriprise managed account
From Well Fargo I received June 17, 20016 "Unable to locate the account number by the name or account provided. This account number cannot be located, or it is not a Well Fargo account. I have had this account for over ten years.
I called Ameriprise. Their poorly trained rep admitted they closed the account, they didn't have to tell me, and I had no right to it, including the$1, 932.34 deposited into it. He refused to open my account, he refused to tell where they had put my money, but he did tell me I "had wasted 30 minutes of his time."
Ameriprise Customer Service need to fire this jerk.
They stole my $1, 932.34
Auto Insurance
I have been insured by Ameriprise since 2011. I recently submitted an insurance claim, as I was rear-ended by another vehicle. The other driver took responsibility. During the claim, it came to the adjuster's attention that I carry some tools for my work in my truck. Shortly after filing the claim, I received a notice in the mail from Ameriprise that insurance on my truck was cancelled because my truck is used for hauling tools. I think this should have been investigated when I obtained the insurance in 2011. The insurance company should have become informed by asking the right questions at that time and I could have gone elsewhere and gotten insurance that would not have been cancelled. I am just frustrated that I have to take the time to obtain other insurance. However, I will never recommend Ameriprise to anyone. I will also remove my car and my home from being insured by Ameriprise.
Financial Planner
Jim Nocito is one of Ameriprise's financial planner/advisors. I went to him on a recommendation and placed too much trust in that recommendation and the brand. My complaint is that he 1) did not invest as I directed him to do, 2) did not adjust when I requested him to do so, 3) after months of attempting to get to a portfolio balance that aligned with my...

After years of using this company for home and auto insurance, we received a phone call followed by verification in writing that they did a reassessment of rates for New Jersey drivers. They informed us that our rates were being increased to nearly two thousand dollars more per year due to uninsured and unlicensed drivers in our state that required those who did have insurance to pay for. We immediately began calling other companies and found out the other companies offered lower rates than what we had originally been paying with Ameriprise despite the fact that I had bought a brand new car only 2 weeks prior!
Estate Settlement
My mother died on August 20. She had a small Ameriprise portfolio which my sister and I would receive as beneficiaries. After her funeral I began contacting banks, insurance companies and Ameriprise to close out her accounts. I had no problem with banks and insurance companies but I am still trying to get the Amerprise account closed. I called Ameriprise Estate Settlement on August 27 to inform them my mother had passed and we wanted to close the account. I was told both my sister and I would receive forms within 3-5 days which were to be filled out and returned to Ameriprise. Because no forms were received I called Ameriprise again on September 4 and was told there was no record of my previous call but forms would be mailed to us and we should receive them between 3-5 business days. No forms were received by September 14, so again I called. I was told there was no record of my previous phone calls and forms would be sent that day. On September 18, again not having received any forms, I called Ameriprise to be told that the forms were being sent and I should receive them by today, Septmber 22. Guess what - mail came and no forms were received. The portfolio is small but I am beginning to think Ameriprise does not have the funds to close out the estate. No sense calling the "Personal Advisor" because he does not answer his phone. Meanwhile the "estate" is rapidly shrinking because of the volatile stock market. This should have been closed weeks ago.
Over changes
I called to get a quote for my wife's son and compare auto insurance companies. And I told the man helping me on the phone that they were higher than the company he is with and he added him to my auto insurance policy anyway and then I told the auto insurance companyI didn't add him to my policy and they sent me a exclusion form to fill out and send in witch I did and then I was billed on my credit card. So I called the auto insurance company and the customer service said I would be reimbursed EXCEPT for the days they put him on my policy witch I didn't authorize. What a scam. I would appreciate your help in this matter.
