Apria's Incompetence Left Me With A $943 Bill & My Insurance Claim Rejected
Been usin' Apria for years, for my CPAP stuff, and all that jazz. But my insurance changed when I got a new job. The new insurer asked Apria to give them machine data every three months. But turns out, Apria couldn't make the cut and as a result, my claim got rejected (damn, Premera of Washington State!). And get this, Apria had the audacity to send me a bill for $943 for the use of the machine! What a ripoff! I had to pay it (ugh) but I protested. Ain't no way I was just gonna let it slide. So, I filled a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Dragged on for a while, but let's just say Apria ain't getting any more of my business.

I been using Apria Healthcare (apriahealthcare.com) for 22 years now and had a recent issue with resupply. They denied me because they wanted me to go through a sleep study and get a new physician order. I was real unhappy about it.
So, I picked up the phone and called their customer service from my home here in SC. I was connected to a gal named Ashley, and let me tell you, she was a real lifesaver. Ashley knew how to use Apria's big database and was able to find my most recent sleep study that was done up in CT.
Within a day, Ashley called me back with the good news. I was so happy when I heard this because I did not wanna go through the hassle of another sleep study. I just needed to get my doctor's validation, and the resupply was on its way. I was so grateful to Ashley for her can-do attitude and working through till she found what we needed to get the job done.
I know from all this that Ashley is an excellent customer service representative, and Apria should be proud to have her on their team. Thanks so much, Ashley, you rock!

When I pulled up to my driveway, the truck was blocking the entrance, making it difficult for me to get my grandmother into the house. I had to leave her in the car and deal with the setup while she waited. Then, I had to have her walk across our neighbor's yard and driveway to get her inside.
To make matters worse, when I called the company to come and pick up their equipment, I was told they could give me a date but not a specific time. This was frustrating as I had to take a whole day off work just to sit around and wait for them to pick up their stuff. It's disappointing that the company does not seem to care about people's time or needs.
Overall, I would not recommend this company to anyone. If the hospital is considering using their services, I suggest asking for a different provider. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and disregard for customers' needs is unacceptable.

Apria Healthcare, or should I say Apria, is a healthcare company that provides oxygen tank exchange services. Let me start by saying that Apria's customer service is not good. The only positive experience I had was when the delivery driver came to set us up; he was great. However, when we needed tank exchanges on days other than Wednesday, they were unable to help us. We called ahead like they said, but we still had to heft our own bottles out of our car in the parking lot. And get this: the office manager instructed their workers not to lift the bottles out of the customer's vehicle, so we had to do it ourselves. I mean, come on; we're sick and need oxygen, and we have to lift these heavy tanks ourselves?
To make matters worse, Apria overbilled us and didn't process the refund they promised. We had to file a credit card dispute to get our money back. So if you're considering using Apria, my advice to you is:
#1. Use a credit card to pay and keep your insurance explanation of benefits (EOB) to dispute any overcharges.
#2. Don't let them keep your credit card on file.
#3. Make sure you only need oxygen tank exchange once a week.
#4. Be prepared to lift the tanks yourself because Apria won't do it for you.
In my opinion, Apria doesn't care about their customers; they only care about billing your credit card. They're not much of a service provider, but they sure know how to bill you. I wouldn't recommend Apria to anyone. Their customer service is nonexistent, and they're not interested in helping you, just taking your money. I'm pretty sure the company's name is Greek for "treating customers with contempt."
I also suspect that some of the positive reviews on here might be from the company's friends or family. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised because they haven't shown any desire to serve or help their customers. Just keep in mind that Apria can see you in the parking lot because they have a clear view from inside the store.
