Ascension Point SCAM SCAM SCAM
I'm making this post so that others do not fall victim to this SCAM, in the hopes that people who receive a letter do a Google Search and see thousands of Alerts posted about this SCAM.
Targeting families that have lost a loved one is an especially heinous act.
Should they contact me again, including replying to this post, their next contact will be with our family law firm.
Recommendation: Do Not Respond to them.

They called my husband regarding my stepdad estate, he passed away earlier this month. I called them back, was not transferred to the person that called him, the last told me they were trying to reach someone that is responsible for his account. I explained he passed away and if he has had any debt it has been taken care of and felt with. She told me they have multiple phone numbers to contact regarding this. They plan on calling multiple family members about this. I told them to remove every number they had and to delete his so called debt account and that I was reporting them, they hung up on me.

Dan B. you love to apologize after your company sucks the life out of people. My husband recently passed. No estate opened. Let me say it again, THERE'S NO ESTATE EVER GOING TO BE OPEN. You can't get blood from a rock. I received a call from a woman who wanted all of my and my husband's personal information, but she refused to tell me who she was and who her client was. She told me that was personal. Hmmm! Citibank told me they CLOSED the account and noted his death in their system. They asked for his death certificate which I sent, and yet the the leeches at Ascension Point Recovery is looking for a quick buck. During this writing, I just received yet another call from a man named "horsewhip" LMAO. You tell people there's no one working for this company under certain names, because YOU tell them not to give their real names. HORSEWHIP! THIS IS MY CEASE AND DESIST WRITING TO YOU. STOP HARASSING ME! Linda P.
To whom this may concern, This company likes to claim you have a deceased family who may or may not be dead or even exist.
My mother just called me to say that she had received a call about my ex-husband who had passed away recently
My mother just called me to say that she had received a call about my ex-husband who had passed away recently. We have been divorced for 28 1/2 yrs. He was married for 25 yrs after our divorce. Why they would be calling my parents, who live in a different home and have a different phone number, is ridiculous! I myself have not received a call or letter. I told my mother not to return the call, that it was probably a scam---then I google searched the phone number and found plenty of reports against this company BEFORE searching here---and the reports continue. How absurd they are allowed to continue in this manner!

My mother passed away the day after Thanksgiving. She was in a nursing home on Medicaid. She had absolutely NO money, property or anything left. AscensionPoint has called my Uncle (her brother), my cousins (her nieces) and now me (her son) all trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip. My mother is dead. She left nothing to anyone. When a person with nothing dies, the creditors lose. I want this harassing to stop now!
Stop the harassment! This company wont stop calling my children about my husband's biological father (who apparently died). My children never met the man and my husband has not had any contact whatsoever with his biological father since 1991. This harassment had got to stop!
How the heck you get my friend's house phone number to call me asking if I'm the executor of my ex-husband's estate. We have been divorced since 1993 and he was married to someone else when he passed ? What a tacky operation!
This company keeps calling my cell phone regarding my father in law who i was medical power of attorney for
This company keeps calling my cell phone regarding my father in law who i was medical power of attorney for. He passed away was on Social security in the end which is void of collection and had no assets in the end. Today i literally had to send them a cease and desist notice due to "threat of legal action" In the State of California that is illegal, he is deceased and had no assets. Additionally due to HIPAA i am barred by federal law from releasing most information since i was only his medical power of attorney to make the decision to allow him to pass, that was hard enough to do besides scrounging up the thousands it cost to cremate him since he had no assets. This company just uggg.

They called my brother in laws house. How they got his number? I have no ifea. My dad passed from covid dec. They are calling about bills he had. He had no bills, he always paid cash and the house is paid off. I cant wait till one your family member passes and you tecieve a call from your own company
These people are ruthless. My mother passed away and these people are calling her EX in-laws trying to find someone to talk to about outstanding bills. This is ridiculous. My mom passed away with nothing. She had no money and I have had to go in debt just to pay for her funeral costs. This is not a time when I want to be harassed for money that doesn't even exist.
What I seem to be confused about is if this is a legit business then why did no one call me in the time that my grandmother lived with me to
What I seem to be confused about is if this is a legit business then why did no one call me in the time that my grandmother lived with me to collect on this matter why did it have to wait till she had passed and I'm grieving to decide to call and want to discuss this matter. I know she had no debt for a fact and this truly has made me loose all hope in humanity and is lower than when some scammer tried to pretend they were my son in a accident in New York and needed money urgently. I can not even understand how this is being allowed. To say my heart is hurt is a understatement and the sad thing is this won't even matter that I post this but I am so upset I couldn't just not comment. Beyond disgusted.
Dad passed away January this year, these jokers call trying to collect some mysterious debt. They wont provide any information as to what that debt is or financial institution they are collecting for. They want to speak to an authorized representative of the estate without substantiating any legal proof of claim, ie. scare you over the phone, this is a phishing scam. Lose our number.
I just received the same type of letter from Ascension Point Recovery Services. I think they have some nerve my Mom passed away at the age of 95 years old, on Jan. 30, 2021. My MOM had No insurance, not even burial insurance. Furthermore they left NO information in the letter about anything or what they are claiming. We have no idea what the hell they are talking about. She had no outstanding bills. Someone better read to them about having respect for families that lost a loved one. I also believe this is a scam. Please leave us alone. Thank You L.M.
AscentionPoint has started making harassing calls to my son after the death of my husband (his father)
AscentionPoint has started making harassing calls to my son after the death of my husband (his father). My husband died after a long illness under extraordinary circumstances; therefore, there is no estate, no assets nor is there any need for administration, yet AscentionPoint will not reply to emails or complaints and refuses to tell who their client is. My son and I are uninvolved third parties: My late husband alone-nobody else-was the sole signatory for his debts my late husband alone had, and is there no estate to recover from. The credit card company long ago assured us they understood this and that the matter was now closed. These calls constitute harassment and I have already filed complaints with the FTC and CFPB.

Ascension point gets in contact with grieving individuals that may be overwhelmed by a traumatic event to threaten to take any or all assets/
Ascension point gets in contact with grieving individuals that may be overwhelmed by a traumatic event to threaten to take any or all assets/estate in order to pay the deceased individuals debt. They do this with no consideration about the circumstance, the next of kin, or the needs of the family. I was contacted by mail and I decided to call because I believed it was information about a will. When I found out what it actually was, I did not hesitate to stand my ground and later send an aggressive complaint up the chain. I will file a lawsuit, if needed, to protect my inherited benefits and let others know what kind of garbage this "company" is. Funny thing is, they emphasize they are trying to change how people view collection agencies.

My husband passed away in August
My husband passed away in August. In October, I received a letter from AscensionPoint Recovery Services that my husband owed about $4000, but it did not state who he owed the money to. I called, they would not tell me who was owed the money. I knew no money was owed to anyone since my husband was diligent in paying the bills on time if not early. I sent a Cease & Desist letter. They sent another letter with a different amount owed (about $3000) directing me to their "files" website area. I reviewed their documentation on the debit. There were several monthly statements from a credit card ALL of which indicated each statement had been paid on time! What debit then is owned...none! This is a SCAM at the most vulnerable time in my life after the death of my beloved husband of 64 years! BEWARE, THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS!
How can these unethical charlatans have an acceptable rating with the ComplaintsBoard.com?
How can these unethical charlatans have an acceptable rating with the ComplaintsBoard.com? Has the ComplaintsBoard.com actually read the reviews? Each is as scathing as the next and the responses are ridiculous. Why is there not a zero-star option? My experience was the same as many others. I received a very vague letter from them insinuating that the deceased's estate owed some money. They were requesting additional information that I would not provide, nor would they confirm who their "client" that they referenced was. The deceased's estate had no outstanding debt, was in Trust (no probate) and the bank is the Trustee (true professionals). Good luck, AscensionPoint, trying to scam a bank. I have also filed a complaint with the CFPB. It is a fishing expedition that preys on the grieving and I deeply resent a company whose business model is to lie, exaggerate and obfuscate to earn money.

I just got a call from this company yesterday through my Mother-in-Law for my father's estate that passed in May
I just got a call from this company yesterday through my Mother-in-Law for my father's estate that passed in May. My father had no estate and nothing left after all his medical issues. Someone named Jennifer called my MIL and I called the company back and explained that NO ONE should be calling my MIL about my father's estate. I asked what the debt was for and they would not provide me with any information. I asked that they quit calling and then last night my mother got a call at 10;30pm after she was already asleep and some rude gentleman stated they had called 16 or 17 times yesterday - which is harassment - however, it was not to my mother's phone as she has caller ID and nothing was showing up - My lawyer will be filing harassment charges if this continues and you can guarantee I will spend the money to make this happen! My father had nothing and this is a company trying to scam people out of what little money they have - This has better stop NOW!

I will be filing a formal complaint with other agencies as well
I will be filing a formal complaint with other agencies as well. Jessica W called and did not identify the company name, said there was a matter in her office (did not specify), asked for me to verify my last 4 digits of social, I asked for another verification method as I was not comfortable confirming or offering that information. She said she will just state I am not complying. I said that is not the issue just asking for a different verification method (which by law is my right)! At this point her rude tone caused me to get angry and utter some harsh words She then threatened to contact my employer which she does not have permission to do! As my boss and I have told her once before she is not allowed to contact my place of employment. I have left her a voicemail this Jessica W to inform her all calls are to cease and desist to my family, friends, employer and myself. I will be filing complaints against this company for inappropriate and harassing business practice!

I received a call from a lady representing this company and she was asking me for personal information about my father who died two months ago
I received a call from a lady representing this company and she was asking me for personal information about my father who died two months ago. She said my dad had an outstanding debt that she was trying to collect on. When I asked her who my dad owed money to, she said she could not divulge that information. I told her I had paid my dad's bills for over a year before he died and I know for a fact he did not have any outstanding debts. She then asked if she could confirm my dad's date of birth and his date of death. I told her I wouldn't reveal anything to her until she told me who she represented. She said she would just send a letter to me instead. I did receive a letter about five days after the phone call. Even the letter does not tell me who my father owes money to. They just want to know who the authorized representative is for my dad's estate. So I contacted my dad's attorney and he told me that he would send this company a letter and tell them to "pound sand." What pisses me off the most is wondering how many vulnerable people has this company called while they are grieving the loss of their loved ones? They should be ashamed of themselves.
