Time: 13: 00 PM
Location: Welland Premises, Adelaide, S.A.
On Sunday of the above date, time and location, an Elderly Man whose age is 72 years old and a customer of DAN MURPHY'S for 10+ years and also utilised the above location since opening in the area where the Elderly man Reside's close by, was treated poorly by staff members who are all 45+ years his junior was clearly discriminating against the Elderly mans, Race Presence and age. As the staff member was very jovial. polite. smiling, laughing and using good customer service to other customers before then serving the elderly man, the staff members demeanour, character and jovial social skills had suddenly changed when the Elderly man was next to be served. When the Elderly man had asked why the staff member was being dismissive and disrespectful to him the staff member muttered something discriminating to himself and this behaviour was clearly visible to everyone present including other staff members. The staff member continued to over-charge the Elderly man including charging for free promotional products of DAN MUPRHPY'S and also questioning the Elderly in a way that was criminalising and who by now is becoming very shaken MENTALLY PHYSICALLY EMOTIONALLY by this event. The Elderly man had returned home to find his eldest son their waiting at the premises for him. The Eldest son had seen that his father was Visibly, Physically and Emotionally unwell. When the son had asked what was wrong with his father and what had happened to his father the son had told him that together they will see the manager of the location above and raise the matter to management for an apology and to question the disrespectful behaviour of the staff member to the elderly man involved. When arriving to the above premises stated, the Eldest son who is also 50years old had confronted the staff at the front desk and asked whom the manager is (in which he was ignored by the 4 staff members present whom are all young possibly under the age of 30years old and other customers present) a few times with no response, so the son had raised his voice and asked who is the manager again in a firmer tone in which he got a response. The son had requested that he and his father speak to the Manager and Staff member involved. The Manager quickly tried to dismiss the matter at hand and showed discriminate behaviour as well other staff members to both the son and Elderly man. The Manager and another staff member who by physical presence and demeanour became aggressive and threatened to call the police in which the son had stated yes please call them as this was a crime which has been committed to his father as Elder Abuse that is a legislated law and a crime in Australia. The Physical brute said to the manager shall I call the police as a directive (which he cannot do as a staff member as he does not hold a position of Authority) then left the premises immediately (which by law he cannot do) and continued to discriminate against both Father and Son. The Manager then continued to show disrespect in facial expression, body language, customer, managerial skills and character the type of person who is very discriminate against others and promotes, exercise's and encourage that behaviour to staff when managing a position of DAN MURPHY'S. The SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLICE had arrived and talked to both Father and Son about the matter and in relation to it all both The South Australian Police Department or representee's of DAN MURPH'Y did not ask if the Elderly man was ok or if he needed medical attention in fact, both parties SAPOL and DAN MURPH'Y had asked how was the condition of the staff member whom as stated above is at least 50 years junior of the Elderly man. DAN MURPHY staff members and management stated to the Police that the young staff member was under the weather. (in that case as occupational health and safety of the community should not have been working at all.) The Brute who had rang the police and was dismissed by management did not return at all. The staff and the manager had clearly fabricated the story to police and cover the misdemeanour and elderly abuse that had just been committed. The matter at hand may be dealt with legally but yet to be determined by the Elder who is the victim and the son who tried to converse the manager of the stated location above. If this matter at hand is not resolved immediately and contact made to the Elderly man and Son for Formal discussion it will be released to the media and Police.
There is a SAPOL Report number attached to the matter at hand.
