It is not difficult to question the integrity of the company simply by googling "Australian Wine Index Scam" amidst a growing list of high profile fraud cases happening in Singapore such as Assets Wine Management(AWM), Universal Asset Group (UAG), which has left thousands of investors stranded. Australian Wine Index executed a very clever investment scam usually comprising of three stages. Stage one involves targetting the greed. This is done through enticing unwitting buyer into committing large sum of money into buying wines, promising exaggerated yield and guaranteed returns in 3 years time. Unknown to buyers, these wine were sold at way above market price. The company will then prey on the investor's impatience to wait 3 years for maturity by scamming them the second time. This involves tricking the buyer into buying more wines usually with claims that these wines takes less than a year to sell as compared to the earlier ones. The tactic has successfully created thousands of small investors holding on to tiny portfolios of 1 or 2 wines with no way of exit which is naturally so, given that the wines were bought way above market. Final phase of the "Triple Whammy" involves fear. The fear of losing an opportunity to exit. The shanghai auction completes the hat-trick in scamming investors a third time into parting with their money for fear of not be given a chance to enter for the auction.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am in a similar situation with you peterzn. I signed a one year trading agreement last year with TBW and it will be expiring this month.
The agreement stated clearly that AWI will offer to purchase my wines at reserved value stated in the agreement upon the expiration of the agreement but when I called AWI up, they told me that the agreement is not legal binding and wants me to change my wines to rum by signing another document that they will draw up and "topping up some money" so that I can get all my money back next year. I don't trust them anymore. What other avenues can we go? CASE? Police? Lawsuit? Has anyone shown lawyers the trading agreement signed? Legal binding? "awi law suit" I have emailed you, I would like to know more about your lawsuit.
Hi Guys,
Anyone contacted AWI recently? Any good progress? What about interaction with Limper? Did he really help any of you sold any wine off?
Hi Nitelite, I don't know how to deal with them now. Maybe, we shall sell wines by ourselves. But I don't know how to sell them at the price which we bought from AWI. I searched online and the market price is about 50% discount of the price I bought from AWI.
Hi peterzn I dont think we can sell them without a liquor licence. I will make a police report first on AWI breach of agreement. I cant believe that so many of us were duped and they are still operating and continue to dupe others. Not sure if our police can do anything about them. Sigh.. really lost at what should be done. Not sure if engaging a lawyer will help to get back some money. How long the case will run and lawyer fees are my considering factors.
sorry for so long reply, i maybe able to help but you guys need to know if your wines are there and they can be taken out pm me if u need help
in any case if there are any AWI or TBW staff or boss here, I'm speaking nothing but the truth here

Hi there Limper,
Please do contact me at immunesg@yahoo.com.
I am one of those affected by this AWI issue. I have no idea how to access my wines. It seems like CWT logistics in no longer responding to customers who have wines stored there. I want to contact the new AWI and CWT...anyone have any ideas on how to do this?
Thanks
C
Time to chase them back to the DR if you guys don't gather there's nothing much to do there's no point making noise but no actions are taken you guys know it yourself what have happen sorry if I offended anyone here
Hi Limper,
It must be frustrating I know...many people do love to talk but are afraid to act. Of course many of us are confused as the right course of action. I can help if you need but keep in mind I live in the US, so I can not meet with you directly. Let me know if you need anything from me that would help. Also, can you contact me directly, , , I have a few questions for you if you don't mind.
Cheers

TBW OR AWI never pay to me even I have a guarantee letter.
I try to take out my wine from CWT, but was told I cant do because there is outstanding payment from TBW to CWT.
They allow me to transfer wine to my personal account if I sign up a 2 years storage contract with CWT.
This is ridiculous.
I consider filing a police report.
When did this happen George?
I've just verify awi clients don't need to sign. 2 years contact if they don't wish to however advisable is 1 year so they can manage their own wines if u guys need help let me know
Who are you checking with...I am a AWI client and do not know who to talk with as all the AWI emails are no being answered?
George I have been trying to contact CWT as my wines are in an storage account under my name and I am also getting no responses from them...can you give me a contact email?
I spoke to the people in cwt
Can you guys supply me with emails that are working at CWT and/or AWI/TBW...I really want to find out what happened to my wines? Thanks in advance! Chaz.
Hi Chaz i would suggest you to call in to AWI or TBW as them dont really care about emails like this all they acre is sales
No point to call them as they always playing MIA or delaying tactics.
what about CWT? All want is to find m wines...i don't care so much bout the wasted cash I gave AWI as much as making sure that my wines are still safe and sound...any info on CWT?
Awi owes cwt storage thus cwt is not allowing any transfer at all.tou guys may wanna check if ur wines are ok.you guys may wanna check with awi or cwt in regards of this I'm sorry I can't provide too much info here as I'm currently helping a list of clients too
So at least now I know that CWT still exists as a company and that means I should be able to contact them.
Thanks
Chaz
No point discussing openly at this forum. Not to forget the con men are also watching what is discussed here and can counter react too. I am just like one of you, stuck for years and need someone advice. Please share by email to me at ezbear2005-12@yahoo.com.
thank you.
Good point EZ Bear.
But for the most part I think that the companies do not really need to watch this forum too much...their business models are always to make money and their original intentions are sound. They just get into trouble, like many business do, but its our money and our wines instead of unsold inventory. Thanks and will email you soon!~
Cheers

Hi Limper,
I've sent you a private message. I'm obviously affected by AWI's unscrupulous behaviour and I would like to contribute to the effort for restitution.
Cheers,
Justin
Hi Limper, please check your message I've sent to you today and contact me. Thanks
Hi Chuaig, sorry for the late reply I got ur message will get in contact with u soon sorry was settling one of the clients wine n finally got it settled
I am also cheated by these guys.. We need to do something..
Hi Limper, I have not received any response from you yet. Can you pm me ASAP? Thanks
Hi Limper, I am really sceptical that you are able to help. In the earlier post, you said you are a victim and had got back some money. Later, you said you are ex AWI broker. Which identity is the true you?
They wanted to charge me for the storage few years back. I refused to pay since they promised to sell the wines for me with profit and that was the main reason for me to fork out my money on the "investment". I am not sure what happened to my wines since I am having problems to contact the warehouse ever since that incident. I will take it as a lost and i strongly believe what go around turn arounds. the persons involved in the plot will end up paying a much higher price for getting what they don't deserve rightfully. I still hope that everyone will be able to take back at least their investment although i decided to stop pursuing.
hi desmond i was a victim n im also an ex staff of awi if you do not believe me u can always call me and verify ive pm u
Hi Limper
I have yet to receive any response from you, despite last month you said you wouldl contact me. Regards,
Chuaig

Hi Limper,
AWI only request me to withdraw all wine, I don't like to drink the wine, only for investment. HK police report is valid?

AWI Investors,
For those that doubt my intentions, sincerity and ability to deliver I am able to provide references of
satisfied and very happy clients I have helped to date. I understand any pessimism and distrust due
to the nature of the AWI actions and sense of vulnerability at this time. I cannot change the past.
If anyone has doubts please contact me. I can provide bona fide contact details offered by the clients themselves
for your reference. Additional confirmations from CWT as to to my ability to deliver on statements made to date
can be verified by CWT.
For those that are still leery of my intentions I cannot offer any more than I have offered already.
