He was really good at finding specific info if he didn't know the answer right away. No guessing or acting like he knew everything about every car. He was honest and helpful. This is our third time buying a car from Automax and it was another good deal from some real pros.

I would totally recommend AutoMax of Ocala to anyone looking for a used car or truck. We just got ourselves a 2019 Ford Eco Sport. They had a awesome selection, good prices, but the best part of our experience was JC ***. He was cool, knew his stuff and definitely not one of those pushy sales guys. He made sure the car was clean, we had everything we needed, and he even helped my sis connect her phone before we hit the road. All the other peeps we met were pros, fast and super nice too. Thanks for making buying a car way less painful!

Dan *** was our salesman and he was great. My husband and I explained what we wanted and he immediately took us to several vehicles that he thought we might like. He was correct. We did like them and then we had to make a choice. What was great was that we had an option to choose because they had such a nice selection. Most dealerships had maybe one vehicle so that was it. We went inside to do paperwork and financing where we met Edgar. He was very friendly and courteous explained all aspect of the financing and options. Tammy is a grate sales person! She has bent over backwards for my family, and I when it comes to buying vehicles. She really focuses on making your experience/processes of buying a vehicle stress free. I just recently bought my third vehicle from her, and she has treated me the same since my first vehicle I bought. I've had bad experiences buying from actual branded dealerships. You won't get that awful experience from AutoMax. Through the financing process they really help you reach your budget, and work things out trying to get you within your price range. I will continue to shop for future vehicles with AutoMax, because I truly believe they want the best for every single one of their customers!

AutoMax sold me a car with no clear title
AutoMax sold me a car with no clear title. I bought the vehicle on December 8th. The VIN number is ***MXXXXXX. Unfortunately, there is still a lien on the car from the previous owner. I have had multiple discussions with AutoMax, but the problem remains unresolved. All I have received are excuses like "It's VW's fault." They took my money for a vehicle they didn't even own. This is both fraudulent and incompetent.

I bought this jeep on 3/26/22. During the test drive, I told the salesperson, David, that it pulled to the left. Both him and Dan, the finance guy, assured me that everything was fine. I drove the jeep home and left it parked all weekend while I used my truck. On Monday, when I drove it to work, the check engine light came on. I immediately contacted David at 10:39 on 3/30/22. I also took the jeep for an alignment, as we had discussed during the test drive, and discovered that it needed new ball joints/bearings. This cost me $1706.32, which I didn't have to spare. I was told that the vehicle had been thoroughly checked and was in great working condition, so I believe they should take responsibility for this. After leaving multiple messages and finally speaking to someone who claimed to be the GM, I was promised that David would contact me, but he never did. Finally, on 4/1/22 at 2:57pm, I received a response regarding the check engine light. They also offered me a $150.00 check as a goodwill gesture for the front end problems.

I bought a used car from AutoMax Ocala, Inc. and boy, was it a disappointment! Within just two days, we noticed some major issues. The tires were completely bald, the windshield had a crack, and there was even cracked glass above it. We called them up and they had us fill out some form for exceptions. Out of the three problems, they agreed to replace the tires. But here's the kicker - it took them nearly three weeks to schedule an appointment for the tire replacement. Meanwhile, the A/C decided to stop working and started blowing hot air. We thought maybe it was just a fuse issue, so we tried replacing it. Turns out, the fuse for the steering lock was missing! We did some digging and found out that removing the fuse temporarily fixes the problem when the steering lock acts up. We brought this up to the dealership, stressing that it could be a safety hazard. At first, they said they could fill out another exception form. But when I brought the car in, they suddenly changed their tune. They claimed that they only do one exception form and that the car was sold "as is," so tough luck for us. I expressed my frustration and left. I told my fiancé everything that happened, and he called the salesman. The salesman promised a refund for the car. But then, they told him that both of us had to be present for the refund. So, my poor fiancé had to leave work and miss out on three and a half hours of pay. I also had to leave my patients waiting at work. When we finally got to the dealership, they took us into a small room and started harassing us. They talked down to us like we were little kids and didn't give us any money back. They had promised my fiancé on the phone that it would only take about 15 minutes. Instead, they kept going over the papers we had signed multiple times, treating us like complete idiots.

I bought a 2017 Nissan from Automax on 2/20/22 during their President's Day sale. During the test drive, the salesperson, let's call him Mr. S, said the "Key System Error" was probably because the battery in the key fob was low. I didn't think much of it until after I bought the car and saw the error again on the dashboard. I googled it and found out that I needed to go to an authorized Nissan dealer. I asked Mr. S if I could take the car to Nissan for diagnosis and repair, but he had to talk to the sales manager, let's call him Mr. C. Mr. C was hesitant, but after I insisted, he agreed to let me go to Nissan. I took a day off work the following Tuesday to deal with this issue. The Nissan advisor told me that the car was likely stolen, which is why I had an aftermarket key that didn't work properly, causing the error. The advisor recommended an OEM key fob, but Mr. C didn't want to pay for it. I went back to Automax to redo my loan paperwork and talk to Mr. C about the key fob. He said he wouldn't pay for an OEM fob but had someone who could make me a fob(?) Tomorrow. I bought this car for my daughter to use in college, and I don't think another aftermarket key fob will be safe for her. Since Automax doesn't want to do the right thing, I'm filing this complaint to ensure my daughter's safety with an OEM key fob. I've attached a photo showing my research about the car not starting without the correct key and a photo of the fob without any serial numbers inside indicating it's aftermarket.

I bought a used GMC Terrain from AutoMax in Ocala, Fl on 1/07/2022. I also got GAP insurance and a 3-year/36,000-mile extended warranty. They said that the Pearson Nissan dealer next to them would do all the maintenance without a copay, but if I went to any other Nissan dealer, I'd have to pay a $100 copay. On 1/08/2022, I brought the car back because the brakes were going out. They were grabbing hard when I braked, and I noticed several paint chips. One of their employees drove the car around the block and said, "I don't feel it." They said the chips were fine and ordered a touch-up paint pen, which would take up to a week. On 1/17/2022, I stopped by to check on the paint pen, but it still hadn't arrived. It's been 10 days since I bought the car. On 1/18/2022, I got a call saying that the paint pen was finally in. I picked it up on 1/19/2022. On 1/24/2022, I took the car to Pearson Nissan in Ocala, which is AutoMax's garage, to have the brakes checked. The rotors were warped, and it needed new pads. The representative at the Nissan dealership told me that AutoMax should be paying for the repairs since it was a recent sale. I waited for 2 hours for an answer, and then they told me that AutoMax wouldn't cover the cost. So, I had to pay $136.50 for the repairs. They did give me an Experian Vehicle History Report, which rated the vehicle at 92 and showed that everything was in good working order. On 1/27/2022, I went back to AutoMax to cancel my extended warranty after realizing that it didn't cover much, and I'm moving out of this area, so it probably wouldn't be useful to me. They told me that I should have brought the contract in before they could cancel it. I wish the person I spoke to on the phone had told me that. I still have to go back.
