Be aware of this place
Be aware of this place. Very shady. You're better off taking your family somewhere else to shop. At least you might have a chance to actually get your money's worth. If you decide to go with them, then we can only wish you good luck.
After delay after delay on their part, then the threat of a lien against my home because THEY hadn't completed the job
After delay after delay on their part, then the threat of a lien against my home because THEY hadn't completed the job. The contractor, in between my job being completed, quit the company when I had reached out to ask about the completion. Then two weeks later, he was back, said they wanted him to finish the job. He told me 24" holes had to be made for the posts, then filled with cement before the inspection. This was the delay. I thought it was done, only needing the last fan installed, but then this comes up. In the end, apparently no holes had to be dug. Made me question if they knew what they were supposed to be doing. Long story short, this is not a business I wish I would have chosen for patio and windows. The unprofessional window installer asking my senior mother out while installing the windows added to this patio experience. There are truly too many negative incidents for the allowed words here. Finally, a permit was issued after a failed first inspection. The contractor said he "went over" that inspector's head to a supervisor. All of a sudden, I'm not sure why, with no additional changes made, it was approved on 2/14/23. Today, 2/26/23, I can see the patio leaks. I also noticed the caulk the worker put on the patio during his last rushed visit is beige when the patio and other caulking is WHITE. After first having an estimate in 5/2022, I thought I was finally done dealing with this business. Now, with the two leaks in the patio, I dread having to deal with them once again. Word of advice: get more than a few bids on your project. I know I cannot be the only one having this experience with Backyard and Home. I honestly do not know how they have a high rating. This business does not, in my opinion and my experience, live up to those reviews.

Backyard and Home put in a patio at our place in August and it took them like, more than a month to get it done
Backyard and Home put in a patio at our place in August and it took them like, more than a month to get it done. The wait was alright, but after a month or two, I started griping about a water leak from the patio roof. They sent folks to fix it, but dang, they couldn't fix the leak. And now, there's a new issue with the fan making these strange noises, and when I checked, the fan ain't even mounted right. I've been complaining about this for almost a whole year, and they still haven't fixed it.
Save yourself the trouble and find another place
Save yourself the trouble and find another place. Get someone who actually knows what they're doing. I hired these guys to build my underground pool and it's been a total nightmare. It's been like 5 months and my pool is only halfway done. Their work is all messy and they won't even fix it. On top of that, the pool designer/contractor is a pain to deal with. He's called me all sorts of names like a jerk and stuff, and the company still keeps him around. Can you believe it? And I'm the one paying! You should hear how he talks to his employees too. I really regret ever giving them my business. Now I'm just hoping they'll actually finish my pool.
I got a proposal from Backyard and Home, Inc
I got a proposal from Backyard and Home, Inc. and paid half of the funds ($3,183) on 8/25 for a patio extension and covering. They told me that the patio concrete would be started in 3-4 weeks from the date of the proposal. However, that time came and went, and I didn't hear anything from them. So, I decided to call the company. Three days later, I finally received a call from ***. I expressed my concern to him, and he assured me that the concrete would be laid on Thursday, Oct 1 or Friday, OCT 2. But as of now, I haven't seen or heard from anyone. Tuesday, OCTOBER 6,2020 will mark exactly 6 weeks since the transaction. The half down payment I made was withdrawn on 8/26///20.

I called Backyard and Home to get a gas insert fireplace put in
I called Backyard and Home to get a gas insert fireplace put in. The guy (Hussein) took $500 from me but never did the job. I didn't even get a receipt for the money, but I can show my credit card statement with the charge. I called them a bunch of times and they always said they would get back to me, but they never did. After a few months, I called to cancel and get my $500 back. Hussein said he would refund it to my credit card, but he never did. Now he won't answer my calls or messages.
Sometime in March, me and my wife talked to Mr
Sometime in March, me and my wife talked to Mr. ***, who introduced himself as a contractor from Backyard and Homes. He was recommended to us by my wife's friend and co-worker, who had their patio enclosure done by him. So, we decided to trust *** with our own Patio Enclosure. *** helped us with the contract through Backyard and Homes, and we were told that the project would be finished by the first week of July. Initially, we agreed to finance the project through their in-house financing. However, we realized that it would be more cost-effective to pay in cash as the project progressed, and *** agreed to this.
Once the project started, we encountered numerous challenges and delays. We accepted and believed every promise he made, and patiently waited for any progress on the work, which was moving very slowly. Unfortunately, it's already November, and the project is already 4 months behind schedule. There are still some tasks that need to be completed according to the contract, as well as some sloppy work that needs to be addressed and revised.
I bought a doughboy 18 foot pool from Backyard Pool on 05/04
I bought a doughboy 18 foot pool from Backyard Pool on 05/04. I went to their office on *** lane to pay for my pool in full. I did this transaction with *** who doesn't work there anymore. When I bought the pool, they said it would be delivered and installed within 4 to 6 weeks, but that never happened. It took them until around 06/25, or maybe even later, to finally install the pool. I had many back and forth messages with *** about the installation and how the company's installers weren't showing up and finishing their work. I've had problems with them since this whole thing started. And that's not even the issue I'm contacting you about. On 10/22, a guy from backyard pool called me and said I still owed them $900 for the installation. I thought I had already taken care of it because I told *** I wanted to make one payment for everything. I told this guy that I told *** to charge me for everything all at once. I'm also confused because it took this company almost 5 months to call me and address this issue. I told him I wasn't comfortable discussing money over the phone and that I would look into it. Please help because I don't know what to do.
We hired Backyard to build an outdoor kitchen, lay grass in the side yard, and landscape our front yard
We hired Backyard to build an outdoor kitchen, lay grass in the side yard, and landscape our front yard. They said it would take 3 to 4 weeks, but it actually took about 12 weeks. We paid for the front yard and side grass in full. While building the Gazebo, they decided to change the materials because they couldn't get the original ones. We agreed so the project could move forward. During construction, our contact person was let go or quit, we're not sure. But they assured us there wouldn't be any delays or issues (we met Mr. for the first time then). However, since *** left, nothing has been done. We had a contractor come to measure for rain gutters. We talked to Mr. about the project's status, and he sent us a breakdown of what was left to complete. He now says the total cost is different from the original bid (even though I already paid almost $6,000 in May). When we asked Mr. about it, he said it was because of the material change (which was their decision, not ours). We never discussed a price increase. In fact, we were told it would be cheaper in labor and materials (so we could save money for other parts of the project). A few weeks ago, Mr. brought a contractor to finish the BBQ Island, but since then, no one has worked on the project in my backyard. I've sent multiple emails but haven't received any help to complete this project. We've been waiting for over 6 months and need assistance.
