Behance Online stalking: customer service awful

I reported a case of what I perceived as online stalking on my Behance account, yet after fobbing me off for 6 weeks they then turned round and said there was nothing they could do about it. They didn't ask me anything about my situation to properly understand it when I submitted my complaint to them. Had they done so they would have seen the technical reasons why they said they couldn't help and could have informed me of them immediately. They went way over the 30 days to resolve complaints stated in their terms and conditions they sent me. Instead I had six weeks of stress, chasing after them for an answer as they hadn't kept me updated, and felt watched without knowing for sure where the strange activity on my account was coming from. It had gone on for many months making me feel uncomfortable and anxious online. Not having systems in place to cope with my kind of situation is no excuse for the way they treated me.

Behance Violation of artistic freedoms

Dear Sirs,

I am an artist and a graphic designer. I have been with Behance for 3 years and have always considered it a major international art and design hub — until the day before, when I noticed, that my project was screened/hidden from the general public on the false pretense that it contains adult content.

https://www.behance.net/gallery/53061223/Happiness-is-poster

I was very surprised to find out, that one of the major art and design societies acts in violation of artistic freedom and limits the exhibiting of their work.

First of all, as you can see from the project itself, the model is positioned specifically in such a way, that will not reveal the most controversial content.

Secondly, I specifically covered her nipples in order to focus the audience on the idea of the project, and not the nudity, which is in this very project a collateral topic, the main idea is that of freedom: the freedom of expression and the happiness of being free to be yourself.

Thus by screening and hiding my project from the general public you are impairing my rights to exhibit freely my artwork through the global community of artists.

There are many people in this world, who are not actively involved in this community. You are violating their rights as well to freely access art projects with an unconventional visual content.

You might be conservative or prudish as long, as you express your views outside the Behance society, because the meaning and the mission of an artistic society is to function in support of artists and not against them.

My art project is very thoughtful and delicate. It is a combination of brilliant storytelling, a beautiful presentation, a wonderfully artistic and natural setting, custom lettering, light, exquisite dialog of style and typography, of beauty and meaning — you ban the general public from accessing and viewing it freely online? Seriously?

If Behance is against artistic freedoms, you might as well take down and screen ALL life drawings and ALL depictions of models, ALL sketches, containing nude body parts, ALL illustrations and playful graphics, paintings and digital art, ALL photography projects and marketing/advertising projects with sensual content as well.

To think of it, what will be left then? You might as well close down your site, because, honestly:
art is provocative,
art is inquiring,
art is controversial,
it should disturb,
it should motivate,
it should stimulate visually
or it will not be art any more.

Take down all of these projects! Why do you let them be? Why are you harassing Russian artists, Russian people? What you are doing, is a crime! Restore my rights and open my project up to the general public.

This case appears to me to be a harassment. I would like it to be escalated.

I believe, that you have banned my project, because I am Russian, and the reasons behind are pro-political and pro-racist and nationalistic. This is a case of discrimination.

My project is very modest and ethical, it is conscious and beautiful, it is pure art and absolutely has not one slightest indication of controversial or inappropriate content. I demand, that you open it to the public.

I have proof, that you ban Russian projects and violate specifically the rights of artistic expression of Russian artists. When I started digging for evidence, I found other examples, when you screened a Russian artist, and he had to close his account, because he could not pursue his artistic passion with Behance any longer.

I have checked. I have screenshots of hundreds and hundreds of pages of projects, that are screaming of pornography, and Behance has left them open and visible to the general public. The authors of these projects, that are highly controversial, have other nationalities, than Russian, which only makes my case stronger.

I am forced to defend my right of artistic expression openly now. Stop violating my right of artistic freedom! Stop harassing and discriminating me! Open my project and make it visible to people outside Behance again.

Sincerely,

Lina Tumarkina
