I opened an account with Bet365.com on 18th September with a view to placing a bet on the Ryder Cup. I transferred $10,000 from my NAB bank account to them on that day but they asked me for proof of transfer and proof of identity after that before they could open the account. I spent several days sending through copies of bank statements and forwarded them a photographed driving licence which I didn’t realise was out of date. Consequently, they hadn’t sufficient information to transfer the money I sent them onto my account which number is [protected] before the Ryder Cup began on 29th Sept, so I requested they send my deposit back. Since then they have been sending e-mails saying they still haven’t been able to confirm whom I am and on the most recent one they said:
Hi Kieran,
After reviewing Bank statements provided we can see $45,000 AUD entering your account.
Please provide source of the funds, where they originate from - such as a bank statement or transaction document.
This is an absolute disgrace that they are asking me to show them sources of funding to my personal bank account, which is absolutely no business of theirs.
I have already provided my statement as required, shown the amount sent to them but they are now prying into my personal affairs and using this as an excuse to not return my funds to me. I am not prepared to do this as they will then get access to another bank account I have and can theoretically ask me to provide sources of all credits and show where all transfers have gone to etc, a complete breach of my privacy.
Desired outcome: I simply want my $10,000 transferred back to me asap.
