I bought a yorkie girl from Betty Pedram. ( Betty's teacup yorkies )
She was cute little thing but after few weeks, she started having a seizure.
I brought her to the vet and found out she has liver problems and collapsed trachea.
My vet told me she wouldn't be able to live long.
I contacted Betty Pedram about this matter.
All she said was if the dog dies within a year, she will give us replacement puppy.
Should I be expecting my dog to die early so I can get another puppy?
I found it so sickening.
My dog had multiple seizures and now, I can't even be out for a long time because I am so scared of her having a seizure when no one is around. I adore her so much and it is so heart breaking to see her suffering.
If you are considering about buying a puppy from Betty, I strongly suggest you not to.
Buying her puppy will most likely to cause you expensive vet bills and broken heart.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I do not understand why there are people who breed such tiny, fragile dogs. What`s the sense of doing this? Why do people buy such tiny dogs?
I cannot imagine that such a tiny dog can lead a normal dog`s life. They need to be protected all the time. These tiny dogs are creatures with feelings and needs! People (e.g. Paris Hilton) who buy such dogs are selfish and without sympathy for these creatures. They abuse the dog only for their entertainment. They should buy soft toys they can play with. These people have no respect for life or any sense of responsibility. It is characteristic that these dogs are bought by (and bred for) so-called "Celebrities" with lots of money. Spoiled people without empathy. -
An angry woman from Germany
ANGRY and want justice! I first want to bring to your attention that Betty's Yorkies has expanded and opened other sites on Instagram such as my Dream Pups and Bellapup_teacup. She has been in business with Autumn Elizabeth Cheung AKA Elizabeth Leigh Cheung and her husband
Calvin Cheung. They are all scam artists! First of all please don't judge those of us that were scammed. We experienced the same great communication and pleasant conversation but when my puppy arrived, sick, barely 2 lbs, starving and barely six weeks old the communication became quite different and the scam artist appeared acting as if they were the victim! This poor puppy was supposed to be 6 months old! Communication with these people went from pleasant to non existent! This puppy looks completely different than her picture and looked more like a Shih Tzu than a Maltese as she got bigger. These people are getting very sloppy in their greed. Plus let me educate you how these "micro tiny" dogs come into existence. They are removed from their mothers by C-section much earlier than they are supposed to causing distress and often death to both the mother and her puppies, then there are puppy brokers like Betty-Joanne and Autumn that come along exporting them to wherever making sure they are starving to stay tiny. Once you feed them and get them medical treatment they either die from pneumonia or they thrive and grow 3 to 4 times their size because they are not and never were meant to be "micro tiny." Buyers beware. I have notified the authorities and only need a few more complaints before justice will truly be done. Please contact me at hpinedo1512@msn.com. Below's picture is the puppy received and the next picture is the puppy advertised as 6 months old. Bellapup had the puppy advertised as Sailor and Betty's Yorkies advertised the same puppy under a few different names. How many times have they sold the same dog over and over to different parties!
Thank you for your information. It`s so sad - and shocking.
It is suspicious that "Betty" or who that person(s) call herself/themselves do not appear in public.
In Germany, we have also teacup-breeders, but they are quite different to them in the States esp. "Betty". Most of them have their homepages where they show themselves frankly, their dogs and their families and allday life with the teacups on many photographs, they give their address and phone number to everybody for direct contact.
One can visit them at any time. Besides, the dogs of German teacup breeders are much bigger than the dogs offered in the States and which are "produced" in Asia. Although most of the German teacup breeders are (or seem) altogether honest and serious, they have a tough job in Germany because they are officially (and in the public) not accepted among other breeders, and the FCI. We have e.g. the Toy Poodle 25 - 28 cm (9, 8- 11 inches) as the smallest officially accepted poodle in Germany. The teacup poodle in Germany must not have a size of UNDER 23 cm (9 inches) to breed with.

I implore anyone who has fallen in love with these teacup dogs to do actual, deep research. I understand that many may have the reaction that I did initially, I read about the horrible parts and thought, "I still want to buy it because if it did come from such a horrible place, I want to save it" or "They won't stop doing this because I don't buy one dog. I want to take care of this dog". I remember feeling the same way. Now, I am a "mommy" to a tiny dog that someone purchased without doing research. They didn't understand the work involved, they didn't understand that this dog isn't an ornament, but an animal. They fell in love with a picture of a fluff ball however due to ill breeding, she suffers from a skin condition that caused most of her hair to fall out and never grow back fully. I raise her now with my two other dogs, one from a champion pedigree. Let me explain what you get when you go to a reputable breeder, you get to meet your puppies FAMILY, its mom and dad, its sisters and brothers, you get to look at its lineage, you get to see paperwork that shows that your puppy comes from a long line of healthy dogs. You get a healthy animal that is much less likely to suffer serious health problems, an animal that has much less limitations. You get an adorable animal that WILL turn heads and elicit choruses of "awwww"'s and you get it all for MUCH LESS MONEY! Is my dog bigger than 2lb full grown? YES. But he is supposed to be, and he is adorable and lovely. When I have my "teacup" rescue(who is 2lb full grown) and my other dogs with me, one from a champion bloodline and the other a normal sized chihuahua rescue, I get squeals of "aww how adorable" for all three of them. They are amazing creatures, they are adorable and small. Each of my dogs comes from radically different situations, and I love each of them with all of my heart. The only downside I have, is knowing that my tiny one is going to have the day come where it hurts her to walk, where she randomly will yelp out in pain for moving the wrong way. On Betty's website, she states that these tinies will have luxating patella, and downplays the severity of it. Any HUMAN who has seen someone living with joint pain knows that even if the person is active and seems okay, they often go through a lot of pain and pain causes physical and mental stress and exhaustion. That pain will happen to most of these tinies, but they can't pop an advil or an aleve, AND dogs often do not express that they are in pain unless it becomes unbearable. Bu tthat does not mean it is not in pain. Pain that would of been easily avoided if the people who created the animal cared deeply about its quality of life, instead of the amount of admiration it will get for being tiny. These dogs can't jump around and play like they should because their size makes it dangerous for them--they get tired out very quickly, they can get injured very easily. A dog isn't meant to live its life being held or in a purse. Reading Betty's website, and you will see that she informs you of this too, but again minimizes the reality. She tells you that your dog shouldn't jump around or play or walk too long because it can become hypoglycemic and is very dangerous. The risk you are taking for having your heart broken is very high, eventually, if not now, down the road, these dogs health will decline and they will have to pay the price for the decisions of humans looking to make money .
There is no such thing as a teacup. It is a buzz word, used to jack up prices for sickly animals.. As these ill bred tiny animals get older, the luxating patella gets worse and they have significant pain from this. She sources these animals from Korea, where there is virtually no rules or regulations, where your dogs mom and dad live a life of horror in a massive puppy mill. Is that justified? Is all the suffering going on in these puppy mills worth it to have a tiny adorable pet? A pet that, eventually, will have joint pain and suffer from luxating patella? She even speaks of this on her website, though she tries to downplay it. I am not trying to attack anyone, when I got my first dog, I fell in love with the adorable tiny dogs. However, I researched until I understood the pain and suffering that exists in order for these adorable animals to exist. I understood that, eventually, I may have to face serious financial and emotional pain as my tiny dog got older and began showing and suffering symptoms related to irresponsible breeding practices. I am grateful for all the information available on the internet, had I not done my research I would of not fully understood the massive issues involved with people who sell these "teacup" animals. The first, and biggest red flag should be the price tag, because if you look into breeders who are involved in showing dogs and breeding to better the breed, they are breeders who do genetic testing to ensure that they are breeding an animal that will better the breed, they win top showing titles, and they sell their puppies for so much less money than people like Betty. That made me pause, because with these people you are getting dogs from champion bloodlines, dogs that you know have excellent pedigree's, and even though I have no interest in showing a dog, the comfort that comes with being able to receive TONS of paperwork and information about the puppies parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc, to be able to see the parents of the puppy and know that they come from good, strong bloodlines, that is far more valuable and yet, costs thousands of dollars less than the dogs you see on Betty's page.
To conclude, these dogs are bought and taken from puppy mills in Korea, their parents live a horrible life locked in cages and are forced to breed over and over and over again. These puppies come from sad, awful conditions and she purchases them for dirt cheap. She fluffs them up, and inflates the price, labels them "teacup", in order to lure in a specific demographic of customers. She is preying upon people who she views naive and rich enough to fall for the scam, people who believe that if it costs more, it must be better quality.
This is long, I doubt many will read, but I am not trying to attack anyone. I want people to understand the reality of the situation. Puppies are adorable and I understand the appeal of owning an animal that will look like a tiny puppy forever, but that is not how nature works. These dogs are being created by taking the sick, runts and breeding them, taking the runts from the next batch and breeding them, and so on, so you are getting an animal with a lineage of sick animals bred with sick animals over and over. The result may look adorable, however the animal is suffering or will eventually suffer consequences that result from generations of poor breeding.
Very well put thank you.
I’d love to see a picture of your dogs and mini and I hope they all live long wonderful healthy lives. I got my dog from family and it makes me really happy to have that close tie and know how the parents were raised. I actually don’t want to neuter him so I can continue the special gift it was to get it from a loving family who’s love we already knew. I would also be really interested in getting my dog fully tested to understand his full genetic background and even things to look out for and be proactive about
Please contact the FBI. This has gone on so long
Do the right thing for future victims
Call the FBI fraud white collar crimes
You should be ashamed of yourself exploiting little innocent pups like that. Shame on you and your business. I hope you don’t consider yourself an animal lover. Clearly all your buyers are idiot celebrities with no real brain. I hope people spread word about you and shut you down.
has the same experience, dog wasnt a teacup micro, was told she will be max 2 pounds shes now 6 pounds and ran a medical bill for 2k because how sick she was
dont have much time to explain what happened but she is a broker for korea, the dogs come shipped directly from there, they come sick and nothing like what was guaranteed to us. she refuses to work with us on anything and is very unprofessional, stay away from her!
Babak this is kambiz, owner of Betty’s yorkies. If I understand correctly puppy is over the ESTIMATED WEIGHT. You received puppy and she came sick ? I would really like to resolve this and compensate you for any $$ wrong we may have caused. Share with me that medical report you got when you took puppy to the vet. Send it to : bettystinyyorkies@hotmail.com
I will contact you and make this better.
Concerning the weight. We give to our best knowledge an estimate of what puppy will be full grown. I apologies if yours end up on the bigger side of the scale. This is something that rarely happens. What diet is your little one on ? Is she getting enough exercise?
All puppies come with a full year health guarantee and we stand behind it. If the puppy isn’t healthy or ill upon arrival we will do our best to make it better.
We deal with live animals and things can happen sometimes. I will wait for your response and make this right.

Hey,
Thank you for writing these posts, i was thinking of getting a korean dog based on being told they look different, shorter muzzles, rounder faces, short legs and just a teddy bear look overall. It seems the cost of "cuteness" can sometimes outweigh the risks when you want a cute puppy. I am glad i am not making that mistake and your viewpoints cemented that decision. I will be going ahead with a reputable breeder vs a risk.
Thank you kindly
N
Very sorry you feel that way... but we are the most reputable breeders of these Korean bloodline puppies. Being in the business for almost 10 years we have had maybe a hand full of issues that are no longer pending. We make sure all puppies are in perfect health before shipping them or pick up. At the end of the day, they are live animals and things can go. What matters is that you buy from a company that has the experience and the willingness to help when things go south. Betty’s teacup puppies Inc. is proud to be that company and people who never purchased can give there opinion about us based on these comments but that doesn’t change the fact that we are honest hard working people and this is a family owned and operated business with location in South Korea and Canada. Open to the public and we are opening a store in 2022. Hope we have the pleasure of meeting you all one day.
Yours truly,

I implore you not to give them a penny of your money! They still owe me $10, 000 from a sick Maltese puppy that they sent to me with a stomach ulcer, which was determined by the pathologist to have started before the puppy was in my care. They will ask for autopsy papers, give you the run around, and are sick people that make money off of selling sick puppies. They hide behind the fact that they are in Canada and are out of the US Jurisdiction, making a criminal lawsuit more difficult.
