coupon offer
It's been 8 months since I last donated plasma. I went to the springfield mo location off of mccurry street location to donate today. Actually I went one month ago to try and donate and the first problem was my spe test, so I took the time to do that, then had to wait a week for my results. When I was cleared, I went back to get back to donating, did my questionnaire, my initial test, and then went in for my physical. I was told I had weezing in my lungs and therefore deferred until a few days so the could listen again. Ok that would have been my second visit. My 3rd visit, which was today, had to do everything all over again, the questionnaire, the hermatacrit and protien test, address verification and then the physical. The physical went fine, and when I presented a coupon the nurse told me that the new donor coupon would not work but another one I had would? Why was this coupon listed as one I could use on my portal login on the biolife website? I felt I was ripped off and lied to. The coupon I ended up using was coupon code [protected] when the one on my portal login was coupon code was different, it was [protected]? In my opinion, this doesn't seem right, I went to this location 3 times for $30, I think I lost money for the gas it took to get back and forth and didn't even break even? Please, if this company takes it's offer serious they would make it right.
oshkosh wisconsin donation
I was prevented from donating with a permanently deferred warning. I have donated a thousand times at at least 3 different plasma centers in madison wisconsin from 1991 to 2016.
This may be a case of identity theft since I know someone stole my social security number in the past. I should not be punished for someone else's crime.
I have never had an incident where management of any plasma center had an issue.in fact I have been a consistent model donor and I want an answer.

Ps. I think it's ironic your headquarters is in bannockburn. This is where I went to elementary school and grew up.
center closing early with no notification
Lakeland, fl center called patients for tomorrow to inform them the center was going to be closed, but did not call anyone today. It is 91 f and sunny here in fl, and yes, we are scheduled to get a large storm on sunday, but there is no reason I needed to drive an hour from my job to get to a center with the doors locked, patients obviously inside donating and lots of cars (employee and donors) in the parking lot and no notification of their decision to be lazy and close early when the weather is completely fine and non-threatening.
I am getting screwed out of $50 and likely not going to meet their additional "bonus" promotion this month because of this now in addition to the labor day holiday (is this part of a plan to give donors a "bonus" but make it impossible for them to obtain it!?).
I may never go back. I am disgusted they had zero courtesy to inform their donors that they were closing today (even though they called tomorrow's donors), and I personally believe they were just getting lazy and didn't want to pay out the donor's second donations in the week. The staff was not kind when they opened the door and told us to go away, that they needed to board up the building (what that has to do with inside) doesn't really make a difference for me and I would've been done with my donation before that was completed anyway as my donations always run quickly.
I know this place is money hungry, but this is complete bs and I am appalled. I would love for them to make this better, but I know there is absolutely nothing they will do to show their donors they made a mistake ("donor appreciation week" was also fairly stupid and only 4-5 donors were actually "appreciated")...
Thank you biolife for wasting my time, gas, and preparation to donate to help save lives that will be affected by harvey and now irma.
It is ridiculous, like I said, there is no current or near future threat today. It is sunny, hot, and 91 degrees out.
Call your donors if you are locking the doors on them.
I checked the website before going and my appointment was still on schedule, my suspicion is that they closed the doors 5 mins before my appt (3:35 appt) and again, just don't care (or give an "f"). I've had it before when my appt was cancelled and it dropped off the schedule, but nope — I was still good to go at 3:35, until I got to the center at 3:35 pm to be greeted with locked doors and no notifications.
I was banking on this money to pay for hurricane supplies I purchased this week, and now I have nothing but debt and a very sour taste in my mouth.
Not sure when I will go back, or if I ever will again — and I am a regular donor, this is so stupid and to screw your donors over like this shows that the company doesn't have any care of concern for their donors (this is also obvious in how little they pay us and their employees, yet make a great deal of money from my time, donation, healthy living and plasma).
I can't get over how angry I am with the lack of professionalism and lack of common courtesy and appropriate business practices. I was on time for the appointment and told to go away. Ok, i'll go away...
plasma donation pain
Hello my name is dustin w daniel the guy stuck the needle in me to draw blood jammed it in my arm and pulled out a little and pushed it back in this is the only time a needle has hurt he could not get it to do rite so moves to other arm toys 3 times and ten tells me if u do this again. You wi not be aloud back I was there 650 am 9/7/17 fire him it sucks
wasn't informed about a contest drawing
An associate of mines went in to donate the other day, and I am also a donor myself at the same facility. But come to find out he ended up winning an expensive prize through a so called drawing that biolife had that I didn't have a clue about. I donate on a regular basis and none of the staff informed me on this contest. I think the little contests they have should be discontinued if they're not treating the donors equally. It's not about the drawing but it's more about the principle.
compensation
It has come to my attention that the amount donated for plasma is based off of a percentage of my bodyweight, however why should I have to donate more mililiters versus a less heavier doner while being compensated the exact same amount of money? This is unfair and almost taking advantage of in sorts. I feel there should be one set amount to be donated or some additional incentives to have an increase of milliliters donated; safely of course.
Permanently deferral
Back in 2015 I came to biolife to donate cause a competitor wasn't treating me right. They didn't know what they were doing after being stuck with a needle 4 times I called it quits with them. But I came to biolife and told the truth of a tattoo that was a year old the lady told me it was going to be a year deferral. I went in today (august 26, 2017) to donate I was informed that I had been permanently deferred due to my statement of the tattoo. And I proceeded to ask why was I deferred permanently when I was told one year and you can come back. Any light on this would be helpful and grateful. Thanks
This same thing happened to me I told them I had a tattoo the first time but the lady didn't write it down, then when I came back to get another physical they said I originally never said I had one. They then said I could not come back again. Am I able to return after a year?
The exact same thing happened to me. They don't care if you're on illegal drugs or an alcoholic or diseased, but God forbid you have a tattoo... In my case, one staff member lied and said I failed to tell her about a tattoo I had. Even when I asked to see the form I originally signed (because I remembered I had drawn on this paper exactly where my tattoo was) they refused to let me see it to show them lol. Sorry about your ordeal, but I'll tell you right now it isn't worth it to go back even if you could. They are liars and crooks and making trillions off of vulnerable people but only paying them a tiny chunk of the profit. They're [censor]. I wouldn't recommend donating at these centers. It is not worth risking your health either as many people have ended up contracting incurable, horrible diseases from these places.
harrisonburg va biolife
I have been banned due to the operator not understanding fully what a service dog is. I have him on recording stating his ignorance of the situation, yet also a lie he mentioned the ada gave him when he called.
I filled a complaint over a year ago, but have yet to hear back. His lack of allowing me to donate plasma due my having a service animal is unlawful and I would like this situation resolved. Not only for me but also for the future of service animals.
deferred
Ok I donate twice a week and have been for nearly 5 years. I have no problems donating the first time of the week but now have been deferred twice. It always happens near closing time. Last week on my $50 day I ate a roast beef sandwhich from arbys. I was told my plasma was slightly cloudy. Really cause I eat a roast beef sandwhich about 4 of the times I donate a month. So why wasnt I deferred those times. Then just a couple of hours ago. I was deferred again. This time I ate 2 turkey lunchables with a gatorade and same thing happened... Yet again on the $50 day. The lady asked what I ate and I told her. Her exact words were lunchables can do that. [censor] they can
service
So I call into the building sitting outside locked out of my car because someone's who is donating has my keys I ask them could I possibly get them she told me she can't do that but I can come sit and wait so I come in and a white woman walks in and ask if she could get her keys from her son she immediately went back and got them so I ask her again why am I not able to get mine and she can't even find the words to explain to me white she gets her keys and I don't even the white woman said they were being prejudice.
I am having the same issue at the location that I am going to. Only I have a black female discriminating against me because I am white. She won't make eye contact with me with getting my vitals. I try to strike up a conversation but she completely ignores me and then has to announce my business to the entire facility. When I call in and try to speak to a nurse, she claims they are "busy" and that I have to leave a message. I'm pretty sure she isn't even giving my message to them. So irritating!
wrongfully deferred
I had been donating for 4 months. All of a sudden a quality control person tells me I need to see the nurse. I go in and she mentions the probation ankle monitor on my ankle. Which the doctor was aware of during my physical. They looked me up in criminal data base saw that I was on jail but released more than 12 month prior. My supposed crime was a sex crime. So they tell me i'm being permanently defered because I answered a question wrong. Question as written states have you been convicted of a sexcrime where the victim was under the age of 17? Again under the age of 17. My so called victim was not under 17. I was permanently defered because of this. And should not have been.
wasted my time and money
I live in gassaway, wv and the closest donation center was clarksburg which is about an hour and something away. So I entered my info and scheduled an appointment online, the day of I get there about 5 min early. I sign in the the nurse tells me to have a seat and it would be just a few minutes. Well, an hour later I finally decide to ask what's going on and if i'd still be able to donate, and the nurses response is no and i'd have to reschedule. (3hrs and gas wasted) I go back online and schedule for the next week. I get there 10 min early this time, sign in, and take a seat. 5min later the nurse tells me to come take a seat and we start filling out all the info and take fingerprints. Well when we are about done she asks my zip code and starts looking in a binder full of zip codes. "well sir, your not in our donor recruitment area; so you can't donate". Great i've now wasted about 6 hours and two tanks of gas! After telling the nurse that and that they are the closest center to me her response was, "check with another donor center". Really! And now its close to impossible to actually talk to someone to resolve my wasted time and gas because they couldn't of told me online when I first signed up that I couldn't donate at the center I scheduled an appointment for. So what to do now?
customer service issue
I tried donating plasma after work last night. I answered my questions like normal and then was seated in the waiting room and told I had to speak to management. All the employees were looking at me with what I thought was pity, which really freaked me out. They sat me down and made me wait without knowing anything; I was convinced I had cancer or some kind of disease because why else would I be called into the principal's office at biolife?!
I was in the waiting room with my boyfriend and the biggest man there pulled me into the room with another woman (a witness!?) and told me my boyfriend couldn't come with me, which freaked me out even more! As it turns out, this was just so he could yell at me! He called me into the principal's office to yell at me?! All because my boyfriend and I donate together and sometimes one of us isn't able to donate. Instead of making the other person wait for an hour, we leave and come back the next day. They are well aware of this when we come in and we take precautions to avoid it as best as we can, but it's not 100%.
What makes it worse is that it only happened to me once, but it happened to my boyfriend twice; why was he made to sit in the waiting room while I was being yelled at? I believe it's because your so called "manager" wanted to intimidate me into submission. Why else would he make my boyfriend stay outside when it directly involved him?
I am not a child, nor do I work there. I have universal blood and see it as a duty to donate because anyone can take my blood; I specifically chose biolife because I have family members with platelet disorders. I do not do this for the small amount of money you give me! Why am I being treated with such disrespect?!
Thanks to your company's fine customer service skills, I no longer feel comfortable going back to biolife. I will take my blood to people who appreciate it!
lost misplaced or never sent speed test got me deferred on 2nd donation of the week go figure
Went to biolife plasma here in springfield mo on the west side of town where they gave me a speed test and lost it misplaced it not quite sure but at any rate they deferred me for my 2nd donation of the week.. Always deferred on the 2nd donation of $50 bucks... Go figure... I sent them an email which I got no response so I called them for 3 days trying to find out where my results were so I could donate... Needless to say they played stupid!.. Someone obviously dropped the ball and I will start donating at csl wednesday.. If you are able to donate somewhere else I advise you do so if you want to be compensated for a 2nd donation
busting veins, not honoring coupons
My husband and I just started donating plasma a lil over a month ago. My husband had a coupon for 390$ and biolife will not honor due to cutbacks. Biolife on coldwater road in fort wayne, in closed doors for a week and a half therefore my husband was unable to fulfill the remainder of his coupon. Because their staff is improperly trained and busted one vein in my left arm and my husbands vein in his right arm busted by overworked staff not trained properly, we both will not be coming back to biolife to donate. A nurse told my husband during this shortage their experiencing he could come donate in a day to still get benefit from the coupon, I had the same nurse doing my vitals and she told me my husband is able to donate and fulfill coupon during shortage. My husband tries to schedule appt and biolife won't allow. My husband was shorted 190$ from biolife not fulfilling or honoring this coupon. Don't go to biolife coldwater road fort wayne indiana, they r crooks and poorly trained overworked staff
business closed due to no supplies
The biolife in middletown ohio is closed all next week due to insufficient supplies. I was a regular donor but had taken a break so I received a bonus for coming back which was $50 for 5 visits by the end of the month. However due to them being closed the last week of the month they are saying I don't get the last $50 for the bonus. Which isn't my fault they have to close due to insufficient supplies.
customer service
I went to your center in pasco washington andy pulse was at 103, they had me sit down and wait five minutes to see if it would go down. I'm a big guy and that place is busy and there is no way that you can lower your pulse in five minutes
I feel you should be able to donate if it's only 3 numbers above 100.
When I went in there they was rude and made me feel uncomfortable because I couldn't donate and that it's my fault. This has happened the last three times. I like to donate because it helps save life's.
payment issues
I am a returning donor, however I had not donated since 2014. When I came into the plasma center to donate I asked if there were any coupons for returning donors to receive more than the standard pay rate, since it had been years since my last donation. I was told by both the front desk associate and nurse that there were absolutely no coupons online or in-store that I would be eligible for. After looking online, there most certainly is a coupon and I was lied to. I feel as though the staff at the plasma center prevented me from receiving a larger payment that I was entitled to. When I called the plasma center to see if the coupon could be applied retroactively they said there was nothing they could do. I expect better of a company like biolife, you should not be purposefully telling your donors incorrect information in order to pay them less. I hope you will take this matter very seriously, as it has seriously changed my view of you as a whole. I have referred many people to you over the years, and I will no longer feel comfortable doing so if you feel it is ok to lie to your donors and prevent them from receiving a larger payment.
tiny little scratches on my arm - ankeny iowa
I am writing to complain about biolife service in ankeny iowa a lot of the nurses are rude. They don't know how to do their job! They blew out my wife's vains then the second time she went in told her she could give because it looked tender to them not caring what she tolled them!
Now about my problem me I my wife drive over 30 miles to donate so the money we make goes to gas. That being said when I can't give because there are tiny little scratches from doing yard work on your arm is bull #! So if you ever plan on doing yard work before donating don't because you might not be able to! Biolife in ankeny iowa is a joke!
the woman who did the needle puncture
The woman who did my needle puncture was rude and not trained properly.
She was rough and hurt my arm and was visibly upset when I asked for someone else.
When I went in day to finish my donation for the week I was told I needed a vain check for absolutely no reason what's so ever.
It is clear to me that this was a retaliation tactic by one of your employees at the battlefield location, I will follow up on this matter and hope to see she has been deciplined or fired, please contact me [protected] for further information as I will forward my complaint to the bbc and consumer affairs, thank you
