rude
On there website it says that people with tattoos can donate as long as they are a year or older. They was rude to me. And didn't not let me donate. If they didn't want people to donate they should clearly state that! Please help. They was so rude I was crying. Just because I have tattoos. And they was to lazy to right them all down. This is the one on high street.
unethical behavior
On 05/16/2018 i, darius harris, went into biolife for a routine donation process. My phlebotomist's name, I believe, was april. However, I am not completely sure of her name at the current moment. She began to preform an iron test on me without even informing me of the test before hand. Which I know they are supposed to inform you of, due to the fact that I have been donating for 7 years. When I found out she was about to preform an iron test, I told her that I did not want to take the iron test and that I no longer wanted to donate on this day. After I told her that I no longer wanted to donate, she just kept repeating "I have already stuck you, you have to go through with the process now." I know that this is not true because at anytime during your donation process, if you no longer want to donate they are supposed to let you go. And I know this from donating for 7 years. This was completely unprofessional and extremely unethical. This is not the first time I have had an issue with a phlebotomist at biolife. Not long ago, I also had a phlebotomist tell me that I should not worry about an air bubble that was in my line, even though I know it can cause cardiac arrest. The phlebotomist's at biolife have been very careless with my health and I find this unacceptable. You all proud yourselves on how you are helping people save lives, however, some of the employees are careless with the safety and well being of the people who are trying to help save lives as well.
product and devices denied
They denied me on donation because of a surgery 39 yrs ago, that has no effect on me today. I said I have been to a doctor and a license physician okayed me to donate and the rude little old lady, who has trouble walking herself said "no." I have donated in the past with successful donation why am I being denied even with a certified doctors ok. Please answer me on this, I feel like it was a discrimination act. [protected]@gmail.com
greenwood biolife
I want everyone to know this company sucks the life out if you and I am hoping it changes
My name is alyssa durham I worked for the greenwood biolife plasma service for 1yr and 3 months I held the title of qlt. During my employment there were many disturbing incidents that drove many employees to quit. This company makes you feel worthless and only follows the company policies when it best fits them. They have no consideration for medical emergencies or family life at all. I am hoping that writing this that change can happen for the many employees that nee the job but resent and absolutely hate this company. They fear retaliation but someone has to stand up.
staff
I just asked if they could look at the needle because it feels weird/hurts plus it's taken twice as long donate then it normally does. The guy said there is nothing they can do however the last time this happened the girl said the needle was to far in and pulled it out a little and then everything was fine. Didn't know it was ok for it to hurt when donating.
I went to the biolife in Grandville, MI. The machine malfunctioned and a tube was split and as a result I lost 1100 ml of blood. The girl stood there hollering for others to come over while my blood was just squirting on the floor and after about 3 or 4 of them showed up they finally took the needle out of my arm. The nurse had me sit outside of her office and gave me a Gatorade that I was told to sip on for 30 min before I could leave. About 3 or 4 min in I blacked out and ended up going to the hospital where I received saline. It's understandable that the machine malfunctioned, but how the situation was handled from the girl just hollering for help instead of doing something about the problem to the nurse giving EMS wrong information and the manager there telling me lies and not giving me information that I needed to know until she was able to talk it over with her boss ( that according to her did not exist) who called me 7 hrs later with the information that I had requested is complete negligence. Not the employees who "claim" to know what they're doing but more on the people who hired them to do a job and failed horribly at training them to do it properly. Needless to say not all biolife employees take their jobs very serious or are trained to handle any and all situations that could possibly occur. They are just there to collect a paycheck as I was just there to collect a few dollars myself. At least at the Grandville location. However at the walker biolife there was always an employee in any given section at all times asking people how they were doing unlike the Grandville location where they just flock to the end cap and worry about getting out as soon as possible.
staff and management
I've been a donor for almost a year at biolife in st leters mo. I was racially targeted 3 different occasions and even hurt due to an employee's negligence. Today my husband and I were waiting for my appointment after he was deferred for having a hurt toe. Now I was sitting to myself after they explained why and a supervisor came up and proceeded to explain something to me that at that moment was in important as I was making sure I didn't raise my pressure and pulse. Afyer her arguing with me becaise I wanted to be left alone as I waited for my appointment. I had 7 minutes to go when my husband came in to sit with our daughter. At that moment a different supervisor came over and asked us if we needed something? I said no thank u and she proceeded to insult us by saying we didnt have a vehicle nd insisted we were starting trouble. The same employee who argued with me is the same who rudely said our children were not welcome I the play room. On more than one occasion there actions were racist and rude. I've complained and still nothing is done and management makes it a point to back there employee's racist remarks and actions.
donation criteria
I have donated for 5 years july 2004- april 2009. At the end I was deferred out because I had postules (?) from an edema this was never discovered for over 6 months so I made donations 9 years ago that went all through the system and likely in patients. Ok one person in bio life yanceyville street greensboro. Jenny one of the nurses said to come in last friday to set up to donate. I get as far as the physical they claim they lost my records from 9 years but yet the nurse maggie who has worked there longer than 2004 the first thing she asked me to do was show my calves so suspicious. She tells me I have edema I can not donate. I said I am being treated for this my doctor says I am fine to donate. Nurse jenny said ok we will work with u this time go get an all clearance from my doctor whom I ironically saw yesterday he took his time and effort to fax them to bio life jenny said our doctor will look at it and you should be all clear to donate this friday. Ok now jenny left me a voicemail call her back I hear from maggie the call was to say I can't donate not only because of the fully treated edema but because my doctor says I have venous insufficiency. Also completely treated strongest dose and I have no loss of blood flow at all. I am in far better health than 2009.
Today maggie says I am permanently deferred, a few questions and comments.
If I have completely great blood flow with medicine, why can't I donate?
A couple of summers ago I lost a lot of weight and had no edema at all, I have lost 37 pounds this year if I lost more weight and have no edema why can't I donate then and why did maggie say I am permanently deferred that sounds very vindictive to me.
The next part is all very true and I just want to know in the name of pure honesty why does biolife not test all donors for illegal drug use?
I am whistle clean donor, but yet numerous donors come in and successfully donate and have or are any combination of all of these of which I am none of.
1. Illegal drug use pills or injected.
2. Chain smokers.
3. Alcoholics
4. Marijuana smokers
5. Crack smokers
6. Gay men (when you have a rule against that).
And you at biolife will say I am making very false accusations if I am I fully challenge you to do a full drug screen on me, and please go ahead and start drug screening all of the donors. Or do we have corporate greed just make money any way you can and just deny a great clean as a whistle donor like myself.
first time customer!
I went in as I was greeted. Everyone at the front desk did not want to be there. They fought over who wanted to take me. 5 minutes later I finally got called. Unprofessional. Then got to get [censored]ed as the young girl seemed annoyed and tired. And then got asked a series of questions which asked if I have sexual contact with a man. I said yes. So the next process was the physical and questions. The gentleman asked when my last sexual contact was with another male, which he made me feel uncomfortable about. I told him last july 2017. And got tested twice after having sexual contact. Its been 9.5 months. The guy was rude and told me I had to be 12 months with no contact. I asked if thats how all women and men were treated and he avoided the question. I feel whole heartedly discriminated against. I got put into a category as a "gay man", which everyone knows they are the sexual active non protective type. I am the complete opposite and did not get any answers of why I was denied. I would appreciate a better reasoning of why I got so discriminated against. I walked out with everyone knowing and felt completely uncomfortable and awkward. This is not how anyone should be treated. I will continue to fight for whats right and I hope you do as well!
poor customer service
I currently attend the location of biolife plasma on richmond avenue right off of westheimer road in houston texas I seem to have had a problem with a couple of employees that work for that company one of the employees an asian man with spiky hair gave me a look like he wanted to hit me in the face another woman a petite hispanic woman with long hair had lied about how many times that I donated. I've also heard them make rude remarks amongst each other and try to whisper it and then look over at me. This is a professional business so this behavior that is being demonstrated at this facility shouldn't be tolerated whatsoever. So now I just don't trust a lot of the people that work there and I had submitted a complaint with the 1-800 number to your corporate office which I will also call again because I was supposed to have had somebody call me back in 24 hours it's been almost 72 hours now and they didn't so I will make sure I call your office today again. I shouldn't have to do that but i'm going to anyways that's what this complaint is about if you can somehow find out if whomever it may concern could be of assistance to resolve a resolution to this issue I would greatly appreciate you doing so.
Thank you

I expect for you to quit procrastinating and resolve this issue soon. Because if you make me like I told the representative at your corporate office I'll be forced to have to have internal affairs investigate the facility. And I'm not bluffing. oh and just for your information your customer service Representatives at your corporate office ain't exactly polite. So I believe it is to your best interests to do something and SOON.
Thank You
deferment
Hello,
I am writing in regards to be being accused of being a liar from the biolife staff in mankato, mn.in 2009, I went in for a physical and donation after waiting the required year after getting a tattoo. I was asked what the date was of getting the tattoo and could not remember the specific date in which I got it. I selected a date and was off by about 6 days. I clearly waited well over a year from my last donation, however, due to misspeaking about the date I as marked as deferred. I tried to go back today tonight and do my part to save lives and got a call from a nurse at the facility. She told me that I was deferred in 09' and asked if I remember this. I told her yes and explained what I just wrote. She told me that if I "lied about that, who knows what else I lie about." are you kidding me!? I think it is absolutely ridiculous that my character is being crucified for literally just misspeaking. If you look at the dates, it was well over a year that I waited to come back and donate. Had I said no date that day, I would be in the clear, but I was trying to be honest and that is now preventing me from donating. How many donors do you think you have that aren't honest about these things are are still donating? For trying to do the write thing, I am accused of being a liar by your company. I would like this to be relooked at. I am currently enrolled in school, getting my doctorate. Do you think I am an dishonest person? I am simply trying to do my part and donate plasma as I do for blood. I am extremely disappointed that I am marked as a liar in your system. This is wrong and needs to be reversed. Let me know what else I can do to facilitate this request.
Best,
Amanda house
casselberry donation center
Biolife promised me hundreds of dollars in bonuses for donating with them in late 2017, when they opened in casselberry. But every time I got there, they would turn me away, claiming I either had a fever or low iron. Mind you, I went to the other plasma places in my home city right afterwards and they told me that none of this was true, and commenced to taking my plasma. I spent and wasted maybe a hundred dollars worth of gas going back and forth there several times to no avail and they never took me once or compensated me for all that gas and hours of time spent wsiting around in a freezing center just to get wrongfully rejected again. This place sucks and something needs to be done about it by management.
rude tech who works there
I went to your location in riverton utah and had haley as my tech. First of all I got no greeting, she said no words to me slapped the blood pressure cuff and inserted needle and walked away. Not once did she check on me like the other techs have. She looked like she had been crying and was very non helpful and had no manners when it came to customer service. When I was done she put the wrap with the gauze in yh wrong spot so it leaked on my jacket and fix it, she didn't say goodbye she just put the green card down and told me to take it up front... Very unprofessional and maybe she should've been sent home
donation refused.
My pulse was running high so I had to wait 10 minutes where upon I got back in line at the front. Another person was put ahead of me by a staff member because he also had a card. I was rechecked on vitals and was within parameters. Only for them to say I waited too long. There is only 2 staff checking vitals so it was out of control. I will be looking for another company to donate at. The staff was very rude.

protein test
Took physical and took protein test you guys then lost it cuz of weather apparently... So took it again last friday... Made appt for today tuesday 1/30/18 and I got deferred cuz it's pending... That's just ridiculous... People don't have time to waste and be sent away... And the website shouldn't let you schedule an appointment... Please fix very irritating
Thanks for your time

inappropriate supervisor
I was at zsavooz in cedar falls, ia when I overheard a bioife supervisor talking crap about a worker that I know personally to a couple other workers. I'm pretty sure she said "she won't last long." in addition to making fun of her face. She also stated "i'm not even suppose to be here with you guys". So I am assuming the other workers were beneath her. Not very professional or smart! It turns me away now from this facility if supervisors are not even going to follow rules! Something needs to be done!
iv injury
I went to biolife to donate today sunday jan 28th, 2018 at the boise, id. I was stuck multiple times in the same arm and the nurse twisted the needle trying to get a vein. It was extremely painful and I made that clear. Once hooked up, I donated 70 ml before the employee came back and told me he needed to move the needle to the other arm, as the first arm wasn't giving enough fast enough. I was already in pain and told him if he had to repeat that, then I was done. He told me I wouldn't be getting compensated for this and unhooked me from the iv. I complained to the front desk and was told they couldn't give a perfect stick everytime. I now have pain and a popping feeling in that arm when moving it and will be seeing a doctor if this progresses. I have been donating for months before today with no prior issues.
ridiculous nurses and rules
Did all the testing and questioneers only to be told I couldn't donate because I passed out when I got an iv in the past. Ridiculous nurse. They don't care about the situation they have personal vendettas and no matter what the actual situation was they don't care. They don't use logic. They are absolutely horrible. I will make sure I tell everyone I meet that is considering donating plasma to biolife that they should look elsewhere. Worst customer service i've ever experienced.
problem with employees and management
I had my protein test drawn weeks ago as normal only to have staff/ups mishandle it. Went back and had it drawn again, only for the exact same thing to happen to the sample. I went in this morning after receiving a call around 7:30 last night to come in for a third time. I got into the building today around 9:50 and was told by someone claiming to be the person in charge that she could not draw the sample because "the lab had not been updated yet" the nurse who made the call was supposedly not in to verify everything. Because of the failures purely on bio-life's side I have been stopped from donating for two weeks while meeting all of the requirements. I was told an email had been sent to management and marketing that an email had been allegedly sent to do something about the missed donation opportunities but I see no reason to believe that anything will actually come from it.
Why do you have people in charge who clearly don't have any idea whats going on with their own staff and isn't doing anything to make sure samples are submitted on time?
coupons
I haven't came into the joplin, mo center in a few months. I received a coupon in my email stating I could get $50 a donation for the next 5 donations. I came in on december 29th and donated and showed the girl that stuck my finger the coupon. She said she would take care of it. Well when I went to schedule my next appointment it only showed $20 added to my account. I thought well I guess I better let somebody know when I go in to donate. I let them know when I went in on january 3rd and they checked into it and said the system wouldn't allow them to go back and add the coupon. The manager came over and talked to me about it and said she tried and the system wouldn't let her add it and there were no other specials she could give me. How is it that an employee messes up and the doner has to pay for it? I'll be contacting some other places about this as well. I've been a doner over two years and it's not ethical or right to do that to people!
biolife employee
I want to complain about a very rude employee of biolife richmond ave, houston. She is a thin asian girl, I am not sure about her name. I used to sit in the waiting area for 5-10 minutes after the donation to make sure that I am ok to drive or till my husband reach there to pick me up. I had a horrible shivering after 2 donations in the past. On the day of incident, during donation the machine stopped 3 times and it took extra 30 minutes to complete the cycles and I was having a hard time because the injected site was hurting a lot. Also some staff was learning how to fix this issue taking time. But I thought it's ok with that because we cannot predict machines and people has to learn how to fix things, so it will benefit others. After this experience I was sitting in the waiting area and there she comes. She questioned me with a very rude voice and attitude ‘why are you sitting here'. She kept asking me without a gap as if I am a criminal or I am sitting there to do a crime. She ordered me to leave. She said you have to leave the property immediately after the donation. Nobody has said that to me anytime before. The very first day we were told to sit there for 15 minutes after donations. I was ok if she has asked me in a nice manner. This same lady was babysitting my 2 year old daughter during another donation and when I went to pick her up she said your daughter was not obeying me with the same rude face. That day I said sorry to her because I thought she had a hard time because of my daughter. May be she wants to sit idle. She is expecting that a 2 year old child will do everything that she says and then she can relax. Because of her I don't want to go to that place anymore. Being said that there are many other friendly and very nice employees there.
