Stylish, High-Quality Blinds with Top-Notch Customer Service: My Blindster Review
So, I was a bit nervous about buying blinds online, but my hubby heard about Blindster on the radio and we decided to give them a try. We ordered a few samples and were really impressed with the quality, so we went ahead and ordered 11 bamboo roman shades. The ordering process was super easy and the shades arrived in about 12 days (I think?). They were packaged really well and it was easy to figure out which shade went where. Mounting them was a breeze and they looked absolutely beautiful!
Now, I will say that we only received 9 of the 11 shades we ordered. I emailed customer support and they got back to me within a day, but they asked me if I had opened all the boxes...which was a bit of a silly question since I obviously had if I was missing two shades! But, they were really helpful and immediately placed an order to have the missing shades replaced. We got them pretty quickly and everything was good.
But, here's where it gets interesting. About a month later, UPS contacted Blindster to let them know that they had found two boxes that belonged to us. It was kind of a moot point at that time, but Blindster still sent us the "extra" shades free of charge. I was really impressed with their customer service and willingness to go above and beyond.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Blindster to anyone looking for stylish and high quality blinds at an affordable price. The ordering process was easy, the shades arrived quickly, and the customer service was top notch. We'll definitely be using them again when we decide to cover our next set of windows!
Blindster Review: Quality Window Coverings with Exceptional Customer Service
I recently moved into a new home that had no window coverings, so I had to find window treatments for most of the windows in my house. I searched for estimates from both local and online businesses, but I couldn't find anything that suited my needs. One day, I stumbled across a blog that mentioned Blindster for their window coverings. The blogger stated that she was pleased with this company and that they had great prices. I did a bit of my own research and eventually decided to give this company a try.
The first room I ordered for was our master bedroom. I ordered Roman blinds. I was very pleased with the amount of options and fabrics they had to choose from, and their prices were very reasonable. I pulled the trigger and ordered four blackout Roman shades which I am pleased with. Since then, I have ordered window coverings for my entire house, a combination of Roman and solar shades. The quality is great, even compared to local window treatment companies who are much more pricey.
What truly sets this company apart is their customer service. It's top-notch, and I truly appreciate this! They are prompt, helpful, and deliver on their promises. I am now a loyal customer and tell all my friends and family about them. During my process to obtain window treatments, there were a few delays and a broken shade, but Blindster makes it right for their customers. I'm thrilled I found them! Thank you Blindster for your products and commitment to quality customer service.
Misleading Satisfaction Guarantee Policy: My Experience with Blindster.com
I recently bought Bamboo blinds for my entire house from blindster.com and spent around $3500. Overall, I think the product is decent and we are somewhat satisfied, except for the two sets of blinds we got for the master bedroom. We ordered the blinds with a privacy liner, but we didn't like it very much. It was our choice, not anyone else's fault, but just a wrong decision on our part.
However, we shopped online with confidence because they offer a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. When we tried to return the bedroom set for an exchange without the liner, they denied it. The reason was because the order was more than $1000, as they specify in their policy. I called customer service and explained that I fully understand the $1000 order limit, but I was trying to return, or better yet, exchange, less than $1000 value. I had several conversations, but I didn't have success with the return. In my opinion, the statement on the "60-day guarantee" is very misleading because it reads: "Orders valued $1,000 or more cannot be returned for a refund," and to me, this means that if I like to return less than $1000 value, it should be possible. Well, it's not!
I'm satisfied with the product, but the cost difference to a local store has not overcome the quality of the product, so to me, the value isn't too great. I'm completely unsatisfied with customer service, and I will NEVER use them again nor suggest them to any friend. To me, customer service is equally important as the product, and a company like Blindster.com should honor such as they say they will.
Blindster Blind Review: Good Product, But Installation Instructions Could Be Better
The blind that I ordered from Blindster came as I expected, but I had some issues with the installation instructions. While the instructions were helpful in identifying the parts and their typical placement, I found that the mounts had to be moved slightly from where I originally placed them. I had placed them too close together to comfortably fit the blind in them. Additionally, I think that for the width of the blind that I ordered, it would have been better if there had been two center mounts rather than one that was supplied.
Of course, a lot of the problem that I had was of my own doing, and had I had more specific instruction, I would have been able to avoid these issues. Particularly, where to place the center mount that I also had to move since I had an interference with the blind slat with the way that I placed it. Now, I know what some of the gotcha's are, so I would be better able to place and hang them now. However, it would have been more helpful if the instructions had been more detailed and clearly illustrated the way that the hangers and center support should be placed.
The other thing is that there were no instructions at all about how to hang the valence on the blind. Although with examination, it was fairly straightforward, but in the process of learning, I mangled a few of the plastic hangers that were provided for that purpose.
All in all, it is a good blind and it is now in place and working well. However, I would not buy another faux wood blind. I think that I would want real wood next time just based on my feeling that wood would not be quite as flimsy as the faux wood seems to me to be.
In conclusion, Blindster provided me with a good product, but the installation instructions could have been more detailed and clear. I would recommend this company to others, but I would advise them to be careful with the installation process and to consider the material of the blind they choose.
Blindster.com: A Haven for Credit Card Fraud?
I gotta say, Blindster.com has got a big problem on their hands. It seems like their website ain't secure or maybe one of their staff is stealing customers' credit card info and going on a shopping spree. I mean, I opened up a Bank of America credit card just for the purpose of using it during my home remodel. Before I ordered from Blindster.com, I had used the card 30 days prior with a well-respected local business that I've bought from many times and always use the same sales manager. But then, on September 9th, I used the card on Blindster.com. And then, on September 26th, Bank of America called me up asking if I had made purchases at WalMart for $488.86, EPOR Tireland for $272.48, Flip Karts for $569.96, and the list goes on. But I hadn't made any of those purchases! Of course, I don't have to pay for those charges, but guess what folks? We all pay for this with higher costs that get passed down to us by the banks and the vendors who don't get paid!
Now, I'm a first-time buyer at Blindster.com, and I thought I'd check out the customer reviews before making my purchase. And what do you know? Another person had mentioned that their card had been fraudulently used after buying from Blindster. I figured it was probably just a fluke, as it happened many months ago. But boy was I wrong! In fact, I just went through the reviews again and guess what? Rebecca M on 7/6/16, Wt W on 8/19/16, Bree J on 8/31/16, and Harrison H on 9/5/16 all reported their credit cards were hacked after using at Blindster.com. Mr. Kyle Cox, the founder and CEO of Blindster.com, you need to seriously look at your staff and/or the security of your website. While you make a decent product, I won't be ordering again from Blindster.com. I'm very frustrated and disappointed to say the least.
Blindster Review: Unreliable Customer Service and Delayed Order Caused Holiday Stress
I gotta say, I'm pretty upset with Blindster right now. I ordered a couple of blinds back in November, with the expectation that they would arrive in time for my guests who were coming over on December 28th. Unfortunately, when my order arrived in early December, the color was completely different from what I had seen on the website. I was pretty disappointed, but I figured I could just exchange them for the right color.
So, I called up Blindster's customer service line, and I was on hold for over an hour. When someone finally picked up, they told me that I needed to wait for a shipment of samples before they could remake the blinds. I was a little frustrated, but I understood. When the samples finally arrived, I followed the rep's instructions and emailed her back to confirm which blinds I needed.
I called a few times to check on the status of my order, but every time I called, I got a voicemail saying that the office was closed for a holiday party. Apparently, they forgot to take down the voicemail for several days after the party was over. Finally, after a full week, I got through to someone (after being on hold for a while again), and they told me that no one had processed my reorder yet. I was pretty calm about it, but I asked if they could expedite my order since it was only two medium-sized blinds, and because we both acknowledged that they had failed to process the order in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, Blindster refused to expedite my order.
Now, I'm just a week away from my guests arriving, and I'm scrambling to find something else to cover my windows so I don't have to put up foil. I'm not sure if I'll be able to find anything in time, and I'm really disappointed.
Honestly, I feel like Blindster has added unnecessary stress to my holidays. This time of year is already stressful enough, and I don't need to deal with this kind of thing. I've learned my lesson - when it comes to window treatments, online ordering just isn't smart. If you need it done right, go somewhere else.
Disappointing Experience with Blindster's Bamboo Shades & Continuous Loop System
We recently purchased three bamboo shades from Blindster, each costing around $83. We opted for the light-blocking feature and continuous loop cords, which added an additional $70 per shade. When the shades arrived, we were pleased with the quality of the bamboo and they looked great when we opened the boxes. However, we quickly realized that the continuous loop cords came with a bulky device attached to the underside of the head rail, which made it difficult to access the holes needed to hang the shades for an inside mount.
We contacted Blindster to see if they had a solution to this issue, but after a 30-minute conversation, the representative was unable to provide a solution and suggested we call back the next day when a more technical person was available. Unfortunately, we needed the coverings on our windows immediately and could not wait. We had to figure out how to remove the ballast from its casing, hold the heavy shade to mark the holes, and then screw in the shade blindly, hoping it was close enough. We then had to reattach the ballast and attach the fabric shade cord mechanism to the side, only to find that the cord was extremely short, making it difficult to use.
We encountered the same issues with all three shades, and two of them were installed over a kitchen counter, which required a lot of reaching and leaning. One shade was even too short by about 1/4"-1/2", despite following the instructions to let it hang and stretch for a while. It has been three weeks, and we have not seen any difference. Additionally, one shade was not wide enough, which was disappointing.
To return anything, we would have to pay for shipping, which would be expensive due to the weight of the continuous loop system. Overall, we were disappointed with the continuous loop system and found it to be terrible. We have other shades with continuous loops that have small rods in the head rail with nice long metal beaded cords that pull smoothly. We made the mistake of assuming that these shades would be the same, but unfortunately, they were not. We do not like looking at the short shade pulled down, so we leave it up most of the time. We have learned our lesson and would caution others to be aware of these issues before making a purchase.
Blindster Review: Great Quality, Poor Communication & Service
I bought some wood faux blinds from Blindster 2 years ago and they were great quality for the price. So, I decided to order again for my living and dining room. The order was processed quickly and arrived within 5 days of ordering. I was very pleased with the quick production and shipping times. However, when they arrived, I noticed that one of them was made way too short in width. There was an obvious error in production and they did not fit. I called customer service right away and they apologized for the error. They asked me to send a picture with the incorrect measurements and they would send me a new set right away. I was very pleased that customer service was willing to correct the problem and send me a new set of blinds right away.
The problem came with the new set being sent. My reorder request sat for another week before I finally got a response that someone had received it. Then another week went by with no response or shipping confirmations sent to my email. I finally called customer service back to see why I had not received any confirmations via email (like I had in my original order) and they were having trouble locating my reorder. I was on hold for over 20 minutes when finally the customer service rep came back to the phone.
She stated that she has located my reorder. When I asked why 2 weeks had gone by with no new shipment or confirmations, she stated that they were behind in production for this particular blind material. I can understand that these things happen, but what I don't understand is why my order sat for 2 weeks and no one contacted me about it to let me know what was going on.
Someone obviously dropped the ball and there was no communication about my reorder. Although they were quick to try and make it better and get me my correct product, it took way longer than expected. There was a lack of communication to the customer which was unacceptable. They stated that their policy is not to send email order and shipping confirmations with reorders, which is ridiculous. I had no idea that my order was being shipped or when I should be expecting it. I am very unhappy with the excuse and half apology that I received from customer service. Someone did not do their job and although having a positive experience before, I may not recommend them for future business. They could have made this right and offered me something for their error, but they did not. That's unfortunate because they lost a loyal customer and referrals!
Mixed Experience with Blindster: Order Errors and Blame Game, but Ultimately Made Right
My experience with Blindster was not a good one at first. I ordered eight blinds from them, but two of them were not the right ones. At first, I was made to feel like it was my fault because they recorded me and said that what I said on the recording was what I had told them to order. They said that the email they sent me said two were TDBU, but the rep said that didn't matter because what I said on the recording had me ordering without. I told them that the rep told me to check the email to verify the order was correct and if there was an error to let them know before they were made. Everything on the email was correct, so I did not need to respond. When I received my order, two of them were wrong. I called and had a hassle with the one rep stating it was my fault. I know I ordered them correctly, but there was no changing the rep's mind.
However, I had another rep call me, and after talking to her, she said she would need a picture of the blind I received and info on the blind. I sent her those pictures requested by cell phone. They both had info on them that stated they were TDBU as I had requested. So that told me someone had the correct info, and whoever made the blinds made the wrong ones. When the rep called me, she still stated I had ordered wrong by pictures until I said, "then what does the TDBU on the info mean?" and she said, "oh, I didn't see that," so I resent the copies of the pictures. I was then told they would remake the blinds for me. They said they were sorry for the error, and they were not blaming me; it was their error.
I guess I was upset due to thinking their policy was no matter whose fault it was, they would make it right without hassle, and I felt like I was being blamed, and that they weren't happy with having to make me new ones. However, I am happy to say that I did receive an email with a rep apologizing and making things right. I would recommend that anyone ordering from Blindster send them an email with exactly the size, style, color, TDBU that you ordered and ask them to email you back if this is what they understood too. That way, you have proof of both your understanding, and then there would be no problem with who is right or who is wrong.
I do want people to know that I would order again from Blindster. They made it right, plus I do like their blinds. I ordered the Roman Shades and the Cellular Shades, and I ordered a total of eight blinds. I totally would recommend Blindster because they will make it right with you. Just clarify the total order, and you will be alright and love the blinds.
Blindster.com Review: Poor Customer Service and Shipping Ineptitude - 12 Weeks and Still No Completed Order
This has been the worst purchasing experience that I can recall in a long time. I ordered blinds on 5/2/2015. The turnaround was supposed to be two weeks, but it was four weeks. I understand that it might be due to the poor weather that Houston experienced in May, so I am not critical on this issue. I ordered seven blinds; four were a set for my family room, the other three were blackout blinds for bedrooms. Of the three, two were the same size and the third was for a wider window. When I received my order, I received three of the four blinds for the family room and the fourth blind was another customer's blind. Two of the three blinds for the bedroom had pinholes, so the light shined through the blackout fabric. I contacted Blindster.com and they were very accommodating. The CS Associate said that they would remake all three blinds and send them to me. I agreed and expected to receive the new blinds.
I received a follow-up phone call and they asked me to return the other customer's blind and that customer would return my blind and they would send it to me. They also requested that I send them pictures of the damaged blinds. I was delayed in sending the pictures, so that delayed the remake of the blinds, which I understand. I finally received my fourth blind from Blindster in early July, but it was sent without the mounting hardware, so I am not able to mount it. I called for replacement hardware and after about 10 days I received mounting hardware for another type of blind, so I still am not able to mount my blind.
I received the replacement blinds and they sent two of the same size, so one is acceptable and I have one that is too narrow to replace the second damaged blind. I have talked with several people from Customer Service and each one is very nice and very accommodating, but they continue to provide no solution. The shipping people are inept; they make mistakes on the order and then send out blinds without the needed hardware to hang it. It has been nearly 12 weeks and I still don't have a completed order. After 10 weeks I have a blind that I cannot hang, a remade blind that fits one of my windows that I dont need and a damaged blind that needs to be remade.
I am very dissatisfied and can't seem to talk to anyone who can get it right. I just want the proper replacement blind and the hardware to hang the fourth blind in my set. After that, I will be done with this company. The only reason this company has 1 star is because I cannot post the review without providing some rating. I hope that Blindster can improve their shipping and customer service to avoid these types of issues in the future.

Disappointing Experience with Blindster: Damaged Blinds and Poor Customer Service
I recently bought seven premium top down/bottom up blackout blinds from Blindster for my new home. When the shipment arrived, I was happy to see that the seven boxes were intact. However, when I opened them, I found that five out of the seven blinds were damaged. The plastic end pieces were broken and shattered at one or both ends (top middle and bottom) of each blind.
I immediately contacted customer service to report the issue. Their solution was to send me the individual end pieces for me to repair. However, when I received the parts, I realized that I would further damage the blinds trying to remove the (hot glue or epoxy) secured end pieces. I was disappointed with the purchase so far and asked for return and refund procedures. Unfortunately, it only got worse.
I was told that because the amount was too much (over $1,000.00), I couldn't get a refund. I asked to speak with a manager and was told they would call back within 24 hours. The next day, I received approval to return the blinds. It was frustrating to say the least. I had heard so many good things about Blindster and was anxious to get a good product, only to be disappointed.
Although Blindster offered to reorder new blinds, I declined. I was sorry to have to leave this negative review, but I hope it helps others who are considering purchasing from Blindster.
Disappointing Experience with Blindster: Delayed Delivery and Unhelpful Customer Service
I recently purchased some plantation shutters from Blindster and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with the whole experience. First of all, they advertise a 7 day turnaround time, but in reality it took a whopping 29 days for my order to arrive. I had to call them multiple times to get any updates on my order, and even then they were pretty unhelpful.
Eventually, after a lot of pressure from me, they finally shipped my order in just under 20 days. But even then, they refused to give me a refund and lied to me about the status of my blinds. They claimed that they were already under construction and that I couldn't cancel my order, even though they knew from the beginning that the factory they buy from was backed up.
It's pretty frustrating that they can easily claim that your blinds are already in production and then you're stuck with them, even if they take way longer than advertised to arrive. And to make matters worse, they're not the only online blind company that operates this way. In fact, many of these companies buy from the same factories, so you're not really getting anything special by ordering from them.
I would definitely not recommend Blindster or any other online blind company that operates in this way. If you're looking for new blinds or shutters, I would suggest going with a local company instead. They're often more upfront about lead times and you can actually go and see the products in person before you buy them.
Overall, I was pretty disappointed with my experience with Blindster and I won't be ordering from them again. If you're considering ordering from them, I would definitely think twice and do your research before making a purchase.
Disappointing Experience with Blindster: Short Valances and Noisy Blinds
So, I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience with Blindster. Don't get me wrong, I love the blinds themselves - they look great and do their job well. But man, the crown molding valance situation was a real headache. First of all, there were no instructions included, which was a bit of a bummer. Luckily, I'm pretty handy and was able to figure it out on my own. But still, it would have been nice to have some guidance.
Anyway, the real issue was that the valances that came with the blinds were just too darn short. I had purchased two blinds for a double inside mount window, and the valances that came with them were about a half inch too short in total. This meant that if I had them together in the middle, you could see part of the bracket on each side. But if I pulled them over enough to cover the brackets, there was a big ol' gap in the middle that looked terrible. Not ideal.
To make matters worse, the blinds were super noisy when I pulled them up. Like, really, really noisy. I called up Blindster to see if they could help me out, and they tried to sell me a one-piece valance for an extra $20. But even that wouldn't have worked if it was cut too short. I felt like they were making excuses and talking down to me, which was pretty frustrating. I mean, I'm no dummy - I know what I'm talking about!
In the end, I was pretty disappointed with Blindster. They could have easily solved the problem by just sending me two new valances that actually fit. But instead, they lost a potential repeat customer and a lot of money. I have 11 windows in my house that I was planning on getting new blinds for eventually, but now I'm not so sure. It's a shame, really - their "Fit-or-Free Guarantee" slogan sounded great, but it didn't really hold up in practice.

Blindster Review: Great Blinds, Terrible Customer Service
I gotta say, I was pretty excited to get my blinds from Blindster. I mean, who doesn't love a good deal on some quality window coverings? But when I got my order, I was pretty bummed to find out that it was missing a handle to raise and lower the blind. I mean, come on, Blindster, get it together!
So I hopped on their online chat and talked to a rep who said they'd send me a handle. Great, right? Well, not so much. The handle they sent didn't fit my blind. So I contacted them again, and they sent another set. But guess what? Still didn't fit. This went on for three weeks, with me sending clear photos of the handle I needed and them sending me the wrong ones.
Finally, after the fourth set of handles arrived and still didn't fit, I talked to a supervisor who promised to personally send me the correct ones. And you know what? I also got an email from the chat rep saying he found a display set of blinds near his office and took the handle off them to send to me. I mean, it's been over a month now and I still don't have the right handle, but at least they're trying, right?
Now, I don't want to be all negative, because the blinds themselves are really nice quality. They fit perfectly and work perfectly, and I think they're definitely worth what I paid for them. But man, Blindster, you really need to work on your customer service. It shouldn't take this long to get a simple handle!
Buyer Beware: Blindster's Color Samples May Not Match Actual Product
I recently purchased a faux wood shade from Blindster's website. I was looking for a white shade and found one called "bone" on their website. However, when I received the shade, it was labeled "oyster white" and looked more like a pale beige color. I contacted their customer service and was told that the colors were the same thing. I wasn't convinced and asked for a remake of the blind after sending them pictures of the "bone" sample they had sent me next to the shade I received. The pictures clearly showed that "bone" was a whiter color than the shade labeled "oyster white".
After a few weeks of back and forth, I received a second shade, but it was the same color as the first one. I kept asking for a shade that matched the "bone" sample they had sent me, but they kept telling me that the factory didn't have any other color. Eventually, they offered me a choice between a refund if I sent the shade back or a discount if I kept it. Since I needed a shade for my window, I took the discount.
However, I was disappointed that I never received the color "bone" that I had ordered from their website. It seems that their samples are from an old source and the new factory source does not have the color they are still advertising. So, if you're considering buying from Blindster, be aware that the color they send you may not be the color you ordered from their website, even if you get samples ahead of time.
Overall, I was satisfied with their customer service, but I wish they had been more upfront about the color discrepancy. It was frustrating to receive two shades that were not the color I had ordered. Despite this issue, I would still consider buying from Blindster in the future, but I would be more cautious about the colors I choose.
Mixed Feelings About Blindster: Competitive Price, Poor Workmanship and Customer Service
I recently purchased some blinds from Blindster and have mixed feelings about my experience. On the one hand, I was able to get a competitive price by using a 50% off promo, which was great. The mechanism of the blinds also seemed strong and durable.
However, I did have some issues with the workmanship of the blinds. When I received them, I realized that the length and width of two of the blinds had been mixed up, which meant that they had to be replaced. Unfortunately, this process took five back and forth emails with customer service, who were abrasive and argumentative. It was not a pleasant experience.
Furthermore, the blinds themselves were not of great quality. One of them had the string holding the blind incorrectly strung and wound around another string, which was frustrating. The cutting of the blinds was also done with the wrong or very dull saws, which meant that the ends were heavily chipped. This resulted in the blinds being full of plastic chips from cutting, which got all over the place. I had to carefully vacuum the house after I hung these, and even had to vacuum again when I received the replacements. The replacements were also littered with hairs and other debris, which made me wonder about the cleanliness of the factory that supplies these blinds.
In terms of the texture of the blinds, there really isn't any. You could call them plastic blinds, but I'm not sure why you would call them faux wood. When ordering inside mount blinds, the valances are cut the width of the blind and you are not given a choice of this. Since the top part of the blind is flush with the window, I would have liked the valance to be a little wider so you did not see the metal mechanism box. It would be nice to have a choice in this matter. Additionally, the valances showed a lot of chipping where they were cut, which was disappointing.
Overall, I would not recommend Blindster. While the price may be competitive, the workmanship and customer service leave a lot to be desired.
Blindster Review: Good Prices, but Some Issues with Sizing and Color; Excellent Customer Service
Prices were pretty good, but I gotta say, I was pretty bummed out about a few things. First off, I couldn't get any cordless honeycomb shades that were narrower than 18 inches. I mean, come on, I've got two windows that are only 16 inches wide, and now they're gonna look all weird and out of place. Not cool, Blindster.
And then there's the color issue. I specifically ordered the whitest white shade they had, but when I got 'em, they still looked kinda off-white. Turns out, the bottom piece is beige, which just seems like a weird choice to me. Why not make the whole thing the same color, you know?
But the biggest problem was that the site didn't say anything about chopping half an inch off your width measurement. I guess it's for the brackets or something, but honestly, the brackets would have fit just fine with less space. Now my blinds are all awkwardly smaller than my windows, and it just looks weird.
That being said, I gotta give props to Blindster for their customer service. They responded to my issues really well, even though technically some of the information was on the site already. They gave me back 50% of my purchase price, even though I didn't ask for it. So while the product itself was just okay, the customer service was really great. In a world where good customer service is hard to come by, Blindster definitely stands out.
Mixed Feelings About Blindster: Roller Shade Review
I recently bought a couple of roller shades from Blindster and I have mixed feelings about my experience. Firstly, one of the shades was exactly what I expected, but the installation instructions were not very clear. The instructions that came with both shades were for different brackets, which was a bit confusing. However, I was able to figure it out while waiting for their response. It took them a full week to respond to my first inquiry, which was a bit frustrating.
The second shade I received was not as expected. It was full of wrinkles and creases, which was disappointing. I contacted Blindster and they asked for photos, which I sent. However, it has now been 10 days and I have yet to hear back from them. This is not the kind of customer service I was hoping for.
One thing to keep in mind when ordering from Blindster is that if you order motorized shades, they only ship one charger even if you order two motors. When I asked for a second charger since the shades are in completely different locations, they said they only ship one per order. This was not mentioned on their website and they don't charge any less for additional motors. This was a bit frustrating as well.
Overall, I was hoping for a better experience with Blindster. While it may be less expensive than other window shade suppliers, you get what you pay for. The customer service was lacking and the quality of the shades was not up to par. If you're okay with these things, then Blindster may be a good option for you. However, if you're looking for a perfect shade the first time around, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Blindster Review: Good Service, Poor Communication, and Delayed Delivery
This review is all about my experience with Blindster's service. I haven't received the blind yet, so I can't comment on its quality. I reached out to Blindster on June 1st, five days after I expected the blind to arrive. It was then that they informed me that the material was on back order and would arrive at the factory in 9 days. They assured me that my blind would be made immediately and shipped. I wasn't too bothered by the back order, but what bothered me was that Blindster didn't contact me or update my order status. However, I must mention that they gave me a 10% discount for the delay, which I appreciated.
Fast forward to June 21st, and I still hadn't received the blind, nor had I received any communication from Blindster via email or order status update. I decided to call the company, and they informed me that the fabric had arrived, but they couldn't give me any information on my blind. They suggested that I call back in a few days. I called again on June 24th, and the representative told me that I should receive shipping information on June 27th. I'm waiting to see if that happens.
The phone representatives have always been polite and apologetic. However, if the company had kept me informed without requiring me to initiate and call back for information, my rating would be higher.
UPDATE: At 5:50 pm on June 27th, I received a note from Blindster refunding an additional 20% due to the additional delay and lack of communication. The refunds show that the company is responsive, and I'm bumping up my review to "Average." I'll update again when the product finally arrives.
Blindster Mini Blinds Review: Poor Design and Multiple Failures
I recently purchased four mini blinds from Blindster, each measuring 36 inches wide by 60 inches tall. My family and I decided to switch from pleated shades to mini-blinds because we wanted to be able to easily adjust the lighting in our home by simply changing the tilt of the blinds, rather than having to raise or lower them completely. We expected these blinds to last for at least five years.
Unfortunately, within just one week of installing the blinds, one of them stopped tilting and was stuck in a closed position. I contacted Blindster via phone and email, and while they were responsive, they were a bit slow in their response time. They requested that I take pictures of the faulty blind and explain the issue multiple times, which I found frustrating. I mean, how many times do I need to say "the blind has stopped tilting"?
Upon taking down the faulty blind, I discovered that the connection between the string and the tilt bar was poorly designed. The nylon material was about as thick as a business card and clipped over the steel tilt shaft. I expressed my concerns about this design flaw to Blindster and asked how these blinds could possibly last even a year. Their response was, "We nevvvvver have this problem."
Despite their assurances, they sent me a replacement blind, which took about a month to arrive due to Covid-related delays. When it finally arrived, I was disappointed to find that it was bent 30 degrees in the middle. While this wasn't entirely Blindster's fault, better packing could have prevented the damage.
To make matters worse, within the next week, a second blind's tilt failed, followed by a third two weeks later. We're now three months in and only one of the four blinds is still functioning properly. That's a 75% failure rate!
In my opinion, these blinds are abysmally designed and not worth the money. I would strongly advise against purchasing them.
