We purchased a Bosch HMC8025UC speed oven/microwave about 6 years ago together with a Bosch wall oven and dishwasher. We decide to go with Bosch as we had a Bosch dishwasher before and in 15years did not have a single repair. The dishwasher and wall oven are fantastic, but the microwave leaves much to be desired. We have had repairs done to inline fuses and replaced door hinges three times already at approximately $250.00 every time. And just a few days ago the microwave quit again. Looking online, i noticed that this is not an isolated incident. There are many of these units with the same defects, and more. And it ranges from 10bplus years ago to just recently. How come the units are still manufactured with these same defects? This in my opinion is a design flaw that Bosch should fix both for future units and current units. This makes me seriously reconsider my opinion of the Bosch brand. I am thinking of replacing the microwave, but as it is a unit to match our wall oven, this would be very pricey endeavor.
When research in this line of Bosch appliances online we are not the only one with this issue, Bosch website is full of similar complaints.
At this time i would almost equate Bosch refusal to upgrade their design in 10 years plus with robbery. It certainly seems unethical to knowingly continue selling product with a known design flaw.
Claimed loss: The cost of the unit plus repairs, $3000.00
Desired outcome: Re imbursement for the original purchase, as well as repairs and removing the appliance of the market untill the design issues have been resolved.
