No feedback but still charging the consumer
The service allows one to call overseas through a local number. for the past month it has not been working but i still get charged when i dial the number. i have emailed and filled in a response on the website but nobody gets back to me. i have called but stay on hold for ages and ages. why am i being charged if the service does not work, why does the service not work, and why dont the personnel reply to emails, or answer the phone. there is no other mode for us to contact the company. dont charge people at cellular rates if your service does not work.
Received Book I did not order
I received a book after viewing your site. I went on there to see what the site held. I gave some ordinary information, but I never
ordered anything. Then a week or so after I received a book in the mail. I never opened it, I wrote return sender on it, returned
unopened. Then I received a invoice last week telling me I owed 84 dollars and some odd cents. So I would appreciate you correcting
your records. Thank you.

Attention director/supervisor of bottom line books-critical and important information enclosed~
Please read the entirety of thee two letters/complaints... Something needs to be done about this! This is now my second and last online compliant to bottom line books... I will no tolerate the harassing letters I have been receiving... I again, received, another bill for $47.94, for products, books, that were never ordered, received nor do I want anything from this company,... It appears to me, by reading most of the complaints written on this site, that this is their way of making money! This is not acceptable... Do they even read these complaints? It doesn't appear so.. I suggest everyone who complains here to copy and paste a copy of their complaints as a paper trail! Furthermore, each and everyone of us should call 1) consumer affairs, (Ca) 2) better business bureau (Bbb) and 3) the attorney general office! (Ag) like I don't have better things to do with my life... They are now threatening to put this bill on my credit report with the three major credit reporting agencies... Oh hell no! That's so out of line... Something needs to be done about this company as soon as possible! I will be calling ca, bbb, and ag today! I will not be paying for these products! I never received them, nor do I want anything to do with your company after this nightmare of an experience! There's not even a phone number on the bills you send! This is a damn shame and ridiculous! Please handle your business and get this bill taken care of asap... I have tried several times unsuccessfully to contact via telephone, us postal mail, posts on this board and internet mail, with absolutely no responses back! Great business ya all are running! Please handle this... I look forward to hearing from you very soon... You have my home address as thats where I am getting the bills; I certainly am not posting online!
Respectfully,
Margaret m. Douglass

I called the number given on the complaint board and it was answering machine, (This isnt the first time) it was a lady saying she will be out of the office, I left my name and address and told her I never received any books from them. I will keep calling until I get a real person and tell them i'm not paying 49.94 for something I di not receive. Yes I did want the books, yes, I did fill out the card to receive them, but I dont want them now; this place is threatening t send me to collections for something I never received! I want to know, how people like this get away with this crap? This is ridiculous.. I thought I was alone in this mess.. But obviously I am not!
* I want to make this clear: I do not, again, do not, want this book any longer! If this is happening to you there are things you can do: call the better business bureau, consumer affairs, as well as making a formal compliant with the state...

I had the EXACT same experience with Bottomline books after my dad passed. I wrote them 3 times to tell them to please stop sending bills but i still get them and this time it is a threatening note from otto heubner, just like you. Did you ever get anywhere with this...any susggestions? Thanks.
received a collection agency letter after having paid for book online.
This outfit doesn't seem to be able to credit payments made to them online. For 3 months I have been trying to prove that a payment has been made to no avail. Now I received a letter from a collection agency in Calif. demanding payment for $26.90 that I don't owe. Dealing with them on the phone gives the impression their accounting and their employees are substandard.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
billing for unauthorized shipment
Received unsolicited 2011 year book in mail last month. Unlike ordered books, there was no invoice attached to the box. Today I receved their "BILL" for $36.91 for the book it says I ordered.
Because it is Federal and State law that no one has to pay for anything sent to anyone who did not order what was sent, I will not pay. Nor does such item have to be returned.
I will send their "BILL" back with a cover letter indicating I am aware of the law. They'll get the invoice back but not the book! Betch they won't do this again!
Did this with another outfit who nevertheless turned their bill over to their collecxtion agency. Explained my understanding of the law and never heard from them again. Credit reports showed no report was ever made by them.

Billing Scam
I keep receiving PAYMENT REQUIRED Notice's for a magazine I never subscribed. I have had it with these people.
I never ordered this magazine and Do Not intend on paying them.
The billing notice does not have a phone number or website listed. I looked them up on Google and found the 800 number. I plan on contacting them to stop the harassment. This kind of business practice needs to be illegal or put to a stop...
I have received a card saying that I am a continuous service customer as requested...NOT. I specifically pay with check so things will not be automatically renewed. The fact that requests to stop this must be mailed has made me permanently stop Consumers Report and Good Housekeeping after subscribing for years. When I have to send the request to Bottom Line (hopefully timely) that will be th end of that subscription also.
My son also received issues of BLP that he never ordered. We assumed it was some sort of was some sort of welcome gift through the college he just started attending or through the FAFSA program. Then bills started coming in, which we did not pay attention to because did. Not request these issues. Now the latest bill received, says that we requested these issues and indicates a specific date. This concerned me because they are making something look official and are telling us basically that we are delinquent and are intentionally trying to avoid our obligation. So this has gone too far, now I have come here to obtain a number to contact Bottom Line and resolve this issue. All my son needs is to start out with a blemished credit report for something that was never even requested.
It was okay ..
Bottom Line called me to see if I would accept a free subscription for their magazine and I said yes. I received the magazine with a bill that I did not owe.
Bottom line does not provide a phone on their billing statement, so I had to search for the [protected] which I did not appreciate having to look them up.
They did cancel my order that I did not order but I should have never been billed either, because I told them to send me the free order and I would see if I wanted to continue taking the magazine. I know what I told them but that is not the way they handled what was said when they called.
Most people may not go to the trouble I went to and made the call or known how to find their phone.
FOR NOW MY ORDER IS CANCELLED!
Received books I never ordered
I just received health books and a 'Pharmacy Discount Card' claiming up to 75% savings on prescription drugs. The bill is for $47.94 and I never ordered the books. I will be sending the books back requesting verification they received them. Hopefully this will be the end of my interactions with this disreputable company.

Receiving books I haven't ordered has been happening for some time now! The two latest being "BREAKTHROUGHS IN DRUG FREE HEALING", and "HEALTH BREAKTHROUGHS 2011" . Both were returned at the post office with the requested ''proof of delivery". There is one more, 'BOTTOM LINE YEARBOOK 2011", which they are billing me for (I did NOT order!) and which they NEVER delivered! (If it does show up, it goes back as "refused" just like all the others! If this process were to be given a name it would have to be "predictive mailing'', like the "predictive" dialing machines that the marketers are using!
free online books
8 months ago they was pop up advertisment free bboks online order. so i applied for that and after couple of days i received a box with a bill which surprised me. i sent back the books to the sender. now, i received a letter from north shore agency asking for collection of the bill. i tried to contact bottom line books to inform them that i, m sending back the books i couldn, t find an e.mail or telephone number,
you will be receiving more than one collection bill Ms.Nehmat.
payments not posted to my account
I ordered several books & magazines. I paid for them all. Kept receiving payment due notices. They were not posting my complaints. Wrote letters, they never answered them. They finally sent me to collection agency. I am getting a lawyer to sue them. They should be put out of business! Where do the payments go since they are not posting them?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I hyave the same problem, I paid for my books, but they keep sending due payment letters, how can you stop thes people?
unauthorised shipment of books and billing
recently they sent me a book I had never ordered. I called customer service for a return label, toldl them I don't want to hear from them any more. I then get a bill for the book I have returned to them. I return the bill, with the message "stop bothering me. I have returned this book I didn't order." Later, I get a return label fior me to return the book I have already returned, and apologizing for the inconvenience.
It never ends with these people. Either they are completely disorganized or they are very sharp. Maybe it is their business model. The books may be cheal enough, and consumers ignorant enough that they can send them off unsolicitied, and they make enough money to continue doing it.
If these are their business practices..sharp..I wonder what good is the content of their books? Are the facts presented facts or just filler to allow them to continue this scam.
And to think, I first got involved with these sharpies because of that nice man Hugh Downs in one of their infomercials.
Warning! Don't let them get their hands on your address, or you will be in Bottom Line hell like the rest of us.
Unordered merchandise: If you receive something in the mail you didn't order, you may keep it and consider it a gift! Do not feel pressured to pay an invoice or make a donation to an organization if you receive unsolicited merchandise. Nedd to return this book and get the correct one. Need for the company to send me a return mail stamps in order to return this book back.
I was sent the book Bottom Line Ultimate Healing -
I did not order this book and they keep sending me stuff like this.
I want my name taken off of every mailing list that they have. They are a very unscruplous company.
wrong billing.
I received a book that I did not ordered, I returned the same day and it was sent back to me, now, they keep sending me a bill for $36.92, I paid almost nine dollars sending this back to them, only that the same book was sent back to the post office two weeks later.
I requested some stamped labels from them and they said they were going to send 'em over. But instead all they want is money, (We all are getting hungry,) right now is not the time to receive books without ordering. Thank you, arturo c. Ramos.
IT IS SUPER NICE TO SEE THAT WE STILL HAVE SOMEBODY THAT REALLY ACCEPTS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS GIANT BOOK COMPANIES. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, !

Beware
The company I work for uses the Bottom Line Software. It is a software for service companies. They have extremely bad customer service. Today (3/1/2010), we downloaded an update for our version of the software which we purchased in 2009. The download caused a problem with the software, but when I called to let them know, the only response was "you are one week out of the free tech support, and our update did not cause your problem." Well, turns out it did; luckily, we figured out what it did and fixed it ourselves. Seems to be a scheme to get people to renew the software and buy the "free" tech support.

still being billed for book I returned
I returned a book to Bottom Line Books along with an additional book they had sent me. I am still mistakenly receiving their bill along with annoying form letters saying I still owe them. I have since mailed them back one of these annoying form letters they sent me with bold writing from me informing them I returned not only the book they're billing me for but I also sent back another book they sent which I did not want. I also copied them on the proof of delivery to their Iowa address and the date it was delivered. This proof of delivery was directly from the US Postal Service, so they have this copy. I want them to STOP billing me immediately.

The book “Treasury of Health” was sent to my residence without my knowledge. The book was returned to Bottom Line books in the original shipping box which had never been opened. The words “Return to Sender – Refused” were writting on the outside of the box and the box was taken to a post office. I continue to receive notifications of collections after notifying the company in writing the book had been returned.
A book was sent to my home that I did not order. I wrote on the package product not ordered. I returned the package unopened to the Post office and mailed it back to the company. I am being invoice by the the company for a product not ordered and a product I do not have. There is no number on the invoice that I can call to clear this matter up.
BOTTOM LINE BOOKS. Does anyone have a way to stop this company from sending these continual bills which are a total fake...? I do hope they don't utilize a collection agency! They should be reported to the attorney general of IOWA, which is where they say they are located. if anyone has a way to do that- PLEASE DO!
i received a book from these people stating i can pay in full47.94 or three installments for 47.94. it states to return yet no info. to return no phone# no contact i do not know what to do it doesnt make cense pay in full 47.94 or three easy installments of 47.94 what doen this mean it is false advertizing and info none

I have been billed for a book "TREASURY OF HEALTH SECRETS NE" at a cost of $47.94. I have tried to explain to Louis Adamo, Collections Manager, that I didn't order this book and I certainly haven't received it, but to no avail.
What do I have to do to make these people understand that I don't have their book, and neither do I want their book?
Can anyone help me?
I took a survey on line and a pop up said if I complete this survey I will get 2 books free. I completed the survey, received the books and now an I am being billed, also, this is the first bill I received and they are saying it is the third.
I am keeping the books as I completed my end of the bargain and I will go into my credit report and post a fraud
complaint against them.
When I originally ordered several books, I paid for them. Then continued to be billed and billed and billed. Finally I sent an Excel spreadsheet of payments and dates and amounts. There is no way to phone these idiots. When I've asked them to close my account, then they start sending books I never ordered. Then the bills begin all over again! All I want is peace without Bottom Line Books - ever again!

To whom this may concern,
I received an unsolicited package from your company, Bottom Line Publications, approximately 3 days ago and since learned that this is not an uncommon practice for your company. I refused the package and sent it back to you today. Further, I plan to report your company to all three major Credit Bureau's, the USPO, the Attorney General's Office and any one else that I can possibly think of. If I hear anything more from your company I will hire an attorney and solicit a class action suit with the many others that have been absolutely inconvenienced and injured by your fraudulent business practices.
Regards,

billed for a book I never ordered
I received a notice from a collection agency (North shore agency, inc) telling me that I had got merchandise from bottom line books treasury of health and I needed to pay the balance owed in the amount of $47.94.
Problem is, I have never ordered anything from this company. I have never heard of this company and i'm not sure what they even sell, what merchandise I supposedly received.
A collection agency, really? This is the first time i'm even hearing about this and I never even ordered from you and your going to send me to a collection agency and mess with my credit?
Who are you? How did you get my information? Sounds like illegal operation to me.
I FOUND THE WEB ADDRESS IF YOU STILL NEED IT. IT IS www.bottomlinesecrets.com
I HOPE IT HELPS.

Bottom Line Books are sending bills for unsolicited books. I have not and do not wish to receive anything from this company. They have no phone number, no website and they should be locked up for fradulent practices. That's probably one way the obama campaign is receiving funds! What can one do in this circumstance?
Hugh Downs sold out years ago (during the 70"s) with a company called Emdeco who sold worthless products at outlandish prices. Example: four windup fire alarms for $800, a cheap film camera for $400, a gyro-stabalizer for your car for $800. All were of poor quallty and probably only cost a few bucks to produce. I know as I went to their presentation and Hugh Downs extolled the wonderful virtues of this company and what a bargain the products were. He is no saint!
unordered books
I only did receive two books-power aging and How to grow 10 years younger-nothing else, through my postal box and I am ready to pay for these books only by credit card.
I don't want anything to do with bottom line so don't bother me with your claims I don't know anything about.
Thanks

2009 yearbook... not ordered
2009 Year Book was sent and not ordered. The Post Office told me not to open it and mark it Return To Sender to avoid being charged to return it. After 10 days, I have now received a bill for the book. This is the second year I have received an unordered book from these people. Last year, I made the mistake of opening the package and had to pay to return the book, along with a letter to not send any more books and still received a bill. Not good people to deal with.

Received a book we never ordered. I will not pay, and I do not intend to return it without proof of the original order from the company. It's time that we start costing these scammers money.
