So, I recently ordered some comic books from mycomicshop.com and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed with the quality of some of them. Out of the 15 that I received, only 4 were up to my standards. The others had dings, creases, and other imperfections that made them look like garbage in my opinion.
I decided to try and return them, but unfortunately, it didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. While they did give me a refund, they also cancelled my account, which means I can no longer buy from them or participate in their auctions. This was a huge blow to me, as I had spent a lot of time researching and adding hundreds of books to my Want List.
It's really unbelievable that they would treat a customer this way just for trying to return some items that didn't meet their expectations. I mean, if you were in my shoes, what would you do? Would you just accept the loss and move on, or would you try to return them?

I gotta say, I was pretty surprised when I saw the rating for My Comic Shop on this here page. I've been using them since way back in 2010, and I gotta say, they've always been top notch in my book. One of the things I love about 'em is that they keep track of all my past purchases, so I can always go back and see what I've bought before. Plus, they save all my future purchases to my account, so I can easily add 'em to my cart when I'm ready to buy.
I mostly use My Comic Shop to check prices on my comics, so I can sell 'em on eBay. And let me tell ya, they're always spot on. I've never had to contact their customer service department, 'cause everything always goes smoothly. I find what I want, pay for it, and they ship it out with tracking. Plus, they keep me updated on all the steps my order is in until it ships. And when they say they're gonna ship something, they ship it. Simple as that.
Now, I know some folks have given 'em poor reviews for shipping delays and stuff that's outside of their control. But come on, people! That's not My Comic Shop's fault. They're doing the best they can, and they're always upfront about any issues that might come up. It's a real shame that some folks only look at the star rating and don't bother to read the reviews. 'Cause if they did, they'd see that My Comic Shop is a real gem.

I had to resort to opening a PayPal request to receive my refund, as MyComicShop.com was not following through on their promises.
To make matters worse, I found that other online graphic novel dealers were pricing the same book I had ordered for at least $50 less in the same condition. It was clear that MyComicShop.com was inflating their prices compared to their competitors. It's no wonder that they had to close up their brick and mortar stores years ago. Additionally, I noticed an uptick in the amount of junk emails I received after ordering from them, indicating that they may be giving out customer information without consent.

On 8/27/22 I received my order from LSC / MCS. When I opened the package the books were just shipped in a plastic bag and its contents were causing the box that they were shipped to bulge outward from being over packed. NO protection was used when packaging the books for shipping. EVERY bag and board sustained damage. 6 out of 11 books suffered corner damage. I took pictures of every book, the damaged corners & the box it was shipped in. I then packaged everything in a bigger box then shipped it by FedEx on 8/28/22 back to Lone Star Comics. And ADDRESSED the package to Buddy Saunders, so that he could see 1st hand the manner in which the books were packaged for shipping. MR. SAUNDERS never received the package that was addressed to him. MR. DAVE LEE in the warehouse / shipping dept. intercepted the package read the contents that was meant for Mr. Saunders and then proceeded to CLOSE my account with mycomicshop.com. (He must be over the entire company instead of the owner) Then Mr. Lee sent me an email telling me that there was no damage to the returned books. I'm 63, and I have been reading, collecting buying, selling and brokering deals since I was 6 years old. There WAS damage to the books. And my pictures will prove it. Jacinda Harris had all the damaged books replaced and has been very helpful and kind in past with any problem's that I have had with my orders and has always handled the customer service dept. not Mr. Dave Lee. I hold her in the HIGHEST REGARD. If I had sent the package by USPS I would have alerted Postal Agents to Mr. Lee's crime of intercepting and OPENING mail that was not his to open. My account was closed due to Mr. Lee's arrogance and inability to admit his failure in shipping orders in the appropriate shipping boxes like the ones that I have received in the past. His decision to cancel my account that had PREPAID orders on it is unacceptable and unjustified. I did not CAUSE this problem. But like any consumer that has a problem with a product... I complained about it and was cancelled after nearly 10 years of buying comics from this company because of MR. DAVE LEE!
Desired outcome: 1) Restore my account and prepaid orders. 2) And reimburse me the $12.16 that It cost me to FedEx the DAMAGED product to Mr. Buddy Saunders.

The list was printed and the all the comics amounts/names were shown. The box was so packed that I could not get another book in it! Sent them to My Comic Shop in Lone Star Comics, 1800 Timberlake Dr., Arlington, TX 76010. I was initially offered about $1600.00 for the CB's the final offer was for $595.38 (Minus the X-men comic that was to be slabbed). I shipped via UPS in a secure CB box, taped on all angles. The box was packed another CB could not fit into it.
This is the outcome. 1) They alleged that in a CB official box, that there were 30 Comic books not received! Now, how could a packed to the max CB Box have 30 missing Comic Books? Add to this they were the high-priced comics that were missing. No notice of box having been tampered with. I was not able to speak to the owner! He was busy. My name is Tyler Petitclerc and I own Rebel Comics in Cochrane, AB Canada. I recently sent in over 1500 comic books for trade in and what I received was not what was expected. I was told I would receive fair compensation as well as half of what the delivery cost is, and only got $0.014 a book (each book valued at at least $3.99) and delivery cost was over $420. The cheque we received was worth $232.51, meaning that $210 of that was for shipping and $22.51 for the comics. So I don't know how we proceed from here, either we get our comics sent back so we can receive proper compensation, or our comics are reevaluated to get a proper price. I tried contacting our rep who was dealing with this situation (Jon Ansley) and I have not heard anything from him in over 3 weeks. We do not want to stop doing business with Mycomicshop or LoneStarComics but this situation is getting out of hand and we would like to resolve it as quick as possible. Thank you for your time.
We will no longer continue to be a customer of mycomicshop or lone star comics, I sent in about 1500 comics and didn't receive proper information on what the price would be, I was only told what option. We also did not receive proper compensation for shipping, and the call I just received from one of your sales reps only confirmed our decision since he continued to claim information was given when it was not, and refusing to help in anyway. If I had known we would only get $0.014 per book I would have never went ahead with the trade. I have purchased plenty of books from mycomicshop.com/Lone Star Comics over the years but my recent experience with them has been atrocious. Bought a couple of comic books that were classified as in "Near Mint" condition from mycomicshop.com/Lone Star Comics. The books arrived damaged so I called their main office and spoke to "Skyler". Skyler requested that I return the books for a full refund including original shipping charges -- additionally they were going to refund the return shipping charges as well. About a week after sending the books back, they only processed a refund for the books but not the original or return shipping fees. Called the main office and spoke to "Skyler" again. When I asked for the reason why they only refunded the price of the books but not the shipping charges -- "Skyler" claimed that the books I returned were not damaged and therefore they would not be refunding the original or return shipping charges. Why would I return these books (Enormous #1 by 215 Ink) that are really hot on the comic book market IF THEY WERE NOT DAMAGED -- attaching some pictures for reference. I have noticed that mycomicshop.com have listed the book for $50 in VF condition (might even be the books that I returned). How convenient that mycomicshop.com would make that claim to get our from refunding me about $14 in original/return shipping charges. Called American Express to file a dispute... American Express just went ahead refunded the money... no fuss at all. It is sad to see how far a company has fallen to make a quick buck in a highly competitive comic book market. For $14 -- they have just bought my services to share this atrocious experience with others, including the Better Business Bureau.

My brother bought comic books from the website www.mycomicshop.com. He paid about $80 for the order and delivery, but he didn’t get full order. Something missed from the order. So he contacted the customer services and asked to provide the remaining things or to return money. The seller promised to provide full order and it was lie. After 3 weeks he got nothing. Total scam, so don’t buy from them and post comments about your experience with this company.
