If anyone, anyone in the world can see this let me warn you, do not even think for one second about working for this sorry # excuse for a "business". It is a brainwashed society of fake # spastic kids who will sell out their own mother to get a "sale". They treat the people who are on the "sales floor" like gods of the earth and anyone not associated with the "sales floor" like the brownest part of #. They brainwash their employees to be so dedicated that they could have a severe stomach virus, be throwing up or crapping their brains out and the manager will just tell them to "drink some water".. And the sad part is, they are cool with that! Who the hell does that? They will talk about you, backstab you, make fun of you, belittle you, and worst of all they will not pay you for the hours you worked your # off on the day that you are suppose to get the check that you have been waiting on all week because you dont even have gas in your car and you need that money to get by another week. That is just a glimpse at the absolute # that is buckle. Let the truth be known! Look past the clothes or the merchandise and see buckle for the sham that it is! How do I know? I have worked there
I agree. Very very shallow people. I currently work for a Buckle and I have been treated very poorly (mainly by a team leader and manager) because I am a full time student and can't be on open to work every day all day. I will admit that some of the people I work with are really nice people but I can also contest that this company seems to be full of rude snobbish people and because I am not like them I am treated differently.
I currently work for buckle also and I love it. Yes a big part of our job is to "sell" but that's not everything buckle stands for. We have pride in ourselves and our company and love to help each and every customer find the items they need, even it it may not be at buckle. Buckle is an amazing place to work and an amazing place to shop, if you disagree maybe buckle is not the right workplace for you!:)
Buckle has really nice clothing but to be completely honest, the one in Vancouver Washington is soooo ridiculously snobby. The people who work there have such a stuck up aura about them. Today I returned these jeans I bought two days ago because they didn't fit very well and looked a lot better in the store. This overweight guy who works there was super cocky and was like "OMG THESE HAVE BEEN WORN. I can't let you return them, it shows creased foot marks, blah blah blah." Even though I had never worn them anywhere, only trying them on a couple of times at my house with the tags and stickers still attached. The evil chubster man eventually was like.. "OMG I'll take them back but this is the last and first time I'll ever do that for you." He treated me and other customers very poorly with absolute terrible costumer service. There's no way I'd ever get away with that in the company I work with. I was extremely disgusted by the way costumers were treated. After he refunded my money for me, I said thank you and he completely ignored me, acting like he was so much better, being a pissy little girl. Seriously, I've never been treated this badly or had such a terrible experience shopping with Buckle.
The buckle employees attack like sharks when you come, but once they have your money they are rude and snotty. They bombard you like no other store I know. It's not simple good customer service, it's very annoying and more like a vulcher circling for the kill. Once they get you in the dressing room they continually bring you higher and higher priced clothes and when you tell them that they are too expensive they won't listen. Smooth! Like we don't know what your doing. Very manipulative! Then when you have to make a return they get really snotty and will give any and every excuse why it's not their fault. My husbands $42 "Filter" T-shirt had tiny holes show up after a couple weeks of owning it. He wore it 2x's just to go out to dinner so it wasn't even washed. Hung in his closet and the next time he wore it I noticed these little holes in the front. When I went to The Buckle the manager told me that because it was worn he couldn't take it back. Well I'm not gonna know there is an issue with the fabric til' it's worn. I can buy a cheap $10
T-shirt on vacation and have it for 15 years with no problem, but the expensive clothes from The buckle are ready to throw away in 2 weeks. Now my son bought a pair of Rock Revival jeans and paid $158. He wore them once and on the second time somebody told him his zipper was down, when he looked he noticed that the zippers stitching was totally coming apart. We immediately called the store manager to make sure there wasn't going to be an issue with a return and once again she was really short, snotty and hesitated and said she would have to look at them first. If this is how they treat the people that shop there then you we are done shopping at the buckle. I spend way to much and am way to fair to be treated like that. They sure were happy when we left the store with $450 in merchandise. Everything that we have from that purchase with tags on is going back. Change how you treat your customers! You serve the customers...Remember that! I think you've lost your way with customer service and your greed has gotten the best of you. Customer service not company service.
I toatally agree! I am in Michigan, so this is a company wide problem. I am not shopping there any more either. They act like you are lucky they let you give them your money. I can give anybody my money. I choose that, not you. And I choose not to shop the buckle anymore. simple fix to the problem really.
I totally disagree. They let you know what you are getting into before you decide to take the job. Where ever you work you are going to have people you don't like . As for you others that feel like like you are hounded. I'm sorry you feel that way. To be honest you have to have money to shop in our stores. We are priced a lot higher then others, but our clothes are totally worth the price. Not every store has snobby associates.
I'm currently an employee at Buckle and I couldn't agree more. The next time a manager forces me to tell each guest, "OH MY GOD, THESE JEANS ARE LIKE SUPER TOTALLY AWESOME AND YOU SHOULD BUY FOURTEEN PAIRS" I'm gonna shoot myself in the face. Not to mention a pay rate of $5 an hour plus 3% commission -- nothing says, "I don't give a ### about my employees" like such crap pay. When you're a new employee, management makes it out to look as though you'll make $10 an hour each shift. I make roughly minimum wage each shift even when I sell my little heart out. Don't waste your time applying for a position at this company.
The People that work at buckle, are somewhere off in tv land. They are a snobbish little immature mean girls clique, that have a towards those who don't act like them. I know because I recently quit working for buckle because of this. I would go into work with my best foot forward every day, and everyday the mean girls would single me out and gang up on me and talk about me behind my back (caught them a few times). They prance around as though they are the high and might of the land and are only out for a sale, soon as the customers leave they destroy the image of that poor, inspecting customer.. Little does just about all their customers know when they come back as a repeat shopper they have already been badly talked about and dissected amongst the "Team Leaders and Manager" who cackle like old evil witches about it in the back room ever chance they get. Please if your not, superficial, snobby, willing to belittle and talk about others, nor feel the need to be apart of a work place clique, DO NOT WORK FOR BUCKLE! or you will end up hating your life everyday before a shift because YOU WILL BE PICKED ON. and f.y.i. the people defending buckle are the same team leaders and managers that are apart of the problem(clique). As one of the comments suggested that i read "it is'nt for everyone" Well they are right its is'nt for honest down to earth people.' If your not one of them and they don't consider you one of them it wont be the place for you. So if your up for a game of high school, i say go for it.
P.S the Guys that work their are in the Mean girls Clique too.
Sorry, READ THIS ONE INSTEAD! left out a few words before :

P.s. Yes the guys that work here are in on the mean girls clique too.
ive never worked at the buckle. but i had a fiance who was an alright girl. we were buying a house together and had a nice life and a small family. once she started working at the buckle she changed. and when i told her i didnt want to wear the clothes, i sensed her time with me was over. lol. she joined the dark side and starting talking to any male who came into the store with a $100 bill. she lied, cheated, snuck around with all these men. and when she started there all she would mention is how slutty the other workers were and how they acted to clients... it was almost like she was telling on herself! lol. worst store ever!
So, I am going to have to share my experience with everyone about the adventure at the Buckle store in Natick MA. First and foremost, the day started like this. I told my wife I wanted to just TRY some new styles and cuts of jeans. Currently I am in the process of a wardrobe makeover. Going from grunge to edge trendy. Anyway, my first stop was Lord and Taylor. I had my three young children with me and managed to get to the mens department without so much as a "hello" or "welcome." After browsing for nearly 45 minutes and still no one asking if i needed help or even saying hello, I gave up. Leaving the store my next stop was intended to be macys or abercrombie. Instead I saw buckle and took a small detour to check out their selection. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted happily by an employee. She also ensured to greet my children and kept a smile on even as I told her I was only looking to try on new styles and cuts and that I was not ready to make any purchases for the day. This did not seem to daunt her in the least. She immediately brushed it off and started qualifying me for the style I would be most comfortable with. She listened, responded and helped me choose several styles, cuts, colors and washes to try on. And so it began. For the next hour and a half I tried on all kinds of jeans, spent time looking at the fit in the mirror making a decision on like or dislike and chasing 3 young kids. After each new pair of jeans went on me, and I inspected thoroughly, I would come out of the dressing room for a second party opinion. Now, I am one of those men who has no real fashion sense, (I cant even dress my daughter properly) so it is my expectation that when I go into any specialty store, clothing, electronics, jewellery etc.. the professionals there will have a keen eye for what works best with me. I know the ultimate decision is mine, but it is always good to know the opinion of a professional. This is exactly what I received from the woman working at Buckle. If I came out in a pair of jeans that looked good she would tell me just that and the same with a bad looking cut or color. At one point, another employee came over and I found myself being spun and judged from every angle. As a professional sales person and a fairly attractive man, I am used to being the center of attention and took full advantage of it with body language and underlying commentary to make my choices for cut, style and color. I could plainly tell when both employees truly thought the jeans that looked bad were actually bad and the ones that looked truly perfect for my body type and skin tone were the jeans for me. All in all, i tried on over 20 pairs of jeans going into a store with no intentions of purchase and ended up purchasing the 3 pairs of jeans that I liked most all, of which were the employees favorites as well and mostly by body language and not fake assurances, one new fitted t-shirt and a new style of underwear to fit my new style all on my new Buckle card. All in all, I would say yes, the employees at Buckle are hungry sales associates talented professional fashion experts for their store and completely friendly as need be. When my fashion expert finished up with my purchase she took note of the style that worked best for me and put me on an email list for when the store got new product fitting my desired look. Both employees worked very well together and maintained a professional but fun environment not only for me but also for my children. I also observed interactions with other customers in the store and noted the traditional greeting and qualifying questions. Some customers were fairly closed off and did not want to be bothered for any help and some had simple questions. Ultimately the employees remained professional and fun under all circumstances.
End result of purchase. Due to the exceptional treatment and professional advice I received at Buckle, I made a decision to use this company as my new clothing provider and did not bother with any other stores after my experience. I have been in many clothing stores in my life, looking for both professional and casual wear and never have I had such an experience.
My advice based on the comments and reviews I have read here, take into consideration that commission based employment is very tough to deal with, and when these employees get a bit overzealous and too hungry it is not due to greed, but due to a need to make more money than last month. I am willing to bet that everyone who has written something makes double what the employees make at Buckle, and that is no reason for snobbery or a rude disposition, but it should also shed light as to why they push so hard. The fact of the matter is this, unless you are a fashion designer or a CONSTANT clothing reviewer, the employees may know more than you do and may have more advice to offer when you open up with what you need. It is their job to sell you the product they carry and it is their job to ensure your satisfaction. As for the returned clothing issues, being a manager of a Cell phone store, I can safely agree with the majority of managers when a customer returns something. Try to save it. Clothing on the other hand walks a fine line, considering people wear clothing before returning it and imagine the managers thought process, how many people have purchased an outfit, not only at Buckle but anywhere, and worn it once for just the occasion and then returned it the next day with an excuse like " it just doesnt fit me right" or "I just dont like the color" In my opinion, it makes more sense for the store manager to be suspicious of anyone who takes the time to try something on, stare at themselves and then a few days later decide they dont like it anymore and want to return it for a refund. Why not exchange it for a different color or size or style? And remember, in sales, the customer may be the final say, but the final say is not always right. The practice that customer service translates to "do anything the customer says" is wrong. The majority of customers have now come to believe that the phrase "the customer is always right" means they can buy anything at any price with any condition they deem fit. And most complain when policies are put in place to protect the companies bottom line. So a rude customer service rep could be simply projecting on customers due to bad experiences with customers. Trust me folks there are twice as many rude customers as there are rude employees.
So, in conclusion to my review/ rant, I say that my experience at Buckle in Natick MA was unbeatable and they have earned my business for many years to come. As I am one of those rude high expecting customers, this is a major compliment to the 2 women in the store that day.
I just started at the buckle and I can't disagree more! I am just a seasonal sales but everyone employed by my store are amazing people! I'm "different". I worked at Hot Topic for many years and loved that job also! But I'm a heavier gal with bright purple hair and I am treated no different by any associate. So it must just be your person experience. ..
I would like to add to this if I can. There are thieves who will come in to the store from time to time that go after some of the higher priced items, especially around Christmas time because the store is very busy and. No joke, we were told to leave the store and "chase " after anyone that we thought took something without paying and follow them right outside to their car when they leave the mall! We were also coached to try to grab whatever it was that they took from their hands/bag. To me, that sounds a bit dangerous. Don't you agree? It just sounds like the company could care less about the well being of their employees . Someone could end up seriously hurt!
I have worked for buckle for almost two years and I couldn't be more thankful for the teammates and leaders I work with. I've truly made great friendships with my coworkers and all of us have a great outlook each day we work. We value our guests and do everything we can for them, because they make this job worth it. The excessive training and growth opportunity with this coming is amazing, and I go to work knowing each day isn't the same and ready to advance with my team. We truly are a family here, and for those people who feel like buckle is a "scam" I feel bad that you haven't had the same experience as I have. It's not until you have worked in a great environment, that you value how great your job is. This has been and will continue to be my favoeite place I've been with.
I'm going to say, that after the last two experiences I've had in our local store, I won't be returning. I understand that they are commission based employees, understand that they need to sell more to make more...but that is no excuse for some of their behavior. I will preface this by saying that this is the only place the I buy my jeans and my daughter's. The woman in the store have never been annoying or pushy. I just started buying clothing for my sons in the store and the men are beyond obnoxious. On my last trip in, the salesman was so unbelieveably pushy! We were there looking for jeans for my oldest son and I agree to let my youngest son find a pair or two also. The salesman kept bringing my sons shirts and sweatshirts. I told him twice that, no, we wanted BKE jeans. The next thing I knew, he was bringing my sons Rock Revival jeans and telling him how great they looked, how he owned them and they were his favorite, etc, etc. I overheard my son telling him that no, his mom wouldn't buy the extra things...and then heard the salesman encourage my son to badger me. He told me son that he if he did what he told him, that I'd probably "give up and just buy the extra things". I was pissed! I bought two pairs of BKE jeans that we'd picked out to that point and left. Fast forward to yesterday...I went in to the store again, this time simply to look at getting my sons a new American Fighter t-shirt each for Christmas. The salesman attacked me within seconds of walking through the door, which as a consumer I already don't like, but expected because of the store that they are. I asked the salesman to show me where they were. I said thank you and proceeded to start looking at them. Within a minute, he was bringing me Rock Revival jeans, telling me that they'd look great with the shirts. I told him no thank you, I just wanted the shirts. He left and brough back two more pairs, asking what sizes of jeans that I needed. I angrily told him that he'd already been told once that I only wanted shirts. When he returned a third time with more jeans, I simply left. Once again, I understand they are commission based employees. They need to sell to earn...I get that. But, it'll be a long time before I step foot in there again. I love Buckle, love their clothes...but their vulture employees are over the top obnoxious and annoying. So, instead of getting at least a $70 sale yesterday (probably would have been more had I had the time to actually look), they got a $0 sale. Makes sense.
My ex girlfriend bought me lots of clothing from the Buckle. I still have 5 or 6 pairs of Rock Revival jeans that are going on ebay for sale, I hate them. No idea why she bought me that garbage. For the life of me I will never understand what she saw in this over-priced line of clothing that falls apart after less than a year. A couple of leather jackets are ok, not great just ok for the price we paid. Thats right, this cheap clothing line literally falls apart after less than a year, especially their pants and print T-shirts. If trendy now means cheap then have at it. I'll definitely NEVER spend a dime of my own on anything this store has to offer, its all garbage... not to mention their sizing is non-conventional as well as cheap. I have shirts that were worn maybe 3 or 4 times that have holes in them and fabric unraveling. If you buy from this store, dont expect the clothing to last long, even if you rarely wear it.
Dont know about working there, I run a small business of my own. I can state one thing emphatically, that I would never put my name on this product, nor would I sell it to people of my community just for the sake of having a job.
OMG so ridiculous, unprofessional, rude, unreal. I live in Orlando and I can't believe what these sales associates do and say. Little do they know, I sell timeshare which is the hardest sale you can get, and I do quite well.. So their sales tactics are unnoticed. So, now I'm rude and banned from the store because I do too many returns. But I've also spent a lot of money in this store over the years. Unreal Corporation.
I completely disagree..i go to the buckle all the time with my toddler who wants to get out of her stroller and touch everything and when she cant she cries and carries on...she pulled an entire stack of rock revival jeans off a table. ..the employees are nothing but nice and helpful and even informed me that they do personal shopping so i could call ahead and they coyld have some things ready for when i got there to make my shopping easier...
Employees stalk you and bring item after item after continuously telling them you're not interested. Me and my boyfriend spent $485 on 3 pairs of jeans for me which later I decided I didn't like.when I went to return them the same sales lady I bought them from was helping me and kept trying to force me to exchange for other items even though I kept saying I wasn't interested in what she was bringing me and I just wanted to return. She then inspected my 3 pants for a good 15minutes trying her hardest to find evidence they've been worn even after I kept telling her they've been in the bag since I bought them. Shed finish inspecting then go to complete the return, then start inspecting again. It was so rude, I've never been through that in my life.then she called her manager over to whisper about the fact it was paid for in cash but that the rewards member on the reciept wasn't me( it was my boyfriends)so she didnt want to give cash back though its policy to return in original payment method. Then she said it was past 60days( but told my boyfriend he had 90days to return when he called about it) and had to give a gift card. I was upset because I don't shop there and knew I wouldn't spend $485 there so I was stuck with the card I could do nothing with. After calling corporate the truth came out that she really didn't want to give me my money because the rewards member wasn't who was returning it even though there's no policy supporting this. They explained they were protecting the customer in case someone else was returning there things. Thats unheard of, insulting, and ridiculous when the damn clothes were for women that I returned and the member was a man and the same employee that sold it to us did the return. Not to mention this wasn't a credit card, but a regular ole rewards card that every store has nowadays and has nothing to do with returns. When my boyfriend called about it they gave him some story about they have sales goals and prefer not to return such a large amount...then went on to say they don't have that much in the register and that they will only return the money to him with ID and to a bank account or issue a check.(even though corporate said all I have to do is bring him with me to get my money back but then the manager at the store had to make it difficult a Lil more after) Like who the heck has had to go through such ### to get their damn money back? If I give u your merchandize give me my damn money how I gave it to you! This is absurd! Its like they are playing keep away from the monkey with my damn money. Since when do stores monitor who's doing returns for who and who's allowed to get the money? They didn't have a problem with me spending that kind of money but then they say its too much to let anyone return if the purchase is under another members reward card... They did everything they could to make this return difficult. It was disgusting. I'll never step foot in there again. Be careful who you spend your money with because you may not get it back if necessary.
I have an interview with them next week and now I wont be wasting my time with them. Thankfully I have other job offers that are not sales dependent. I hate snobby cliquey mean girls and guys. I read the reviews of people that like buckle and those reviews are laced with undertones of snobbiness too. Definitely not wasting my time with these losers.
