Serious fraud
I ordered an item of clothing (which equated to over $400) via a great company called black halo. Once I got to payment screen, I was automatically directed to 'international checkout' which I thought was a legit payment service.
No confirmation received, over $400 debited from my account and they refuse to answer the call or emails.
There are over 50 reviews online of them scamming people and not delivering the goods or refunding the money.
Can you please advise how they are able to do this and how I need to go about getting my money back?
This is alot of money for me and I cannot afford to not have this refunded? Can you please advise what I need to do next to raise this with the regulators?

Three months after I ordered it, I still have not received a product I ordered that shipped through International Checkout. This company appears to be very disorganized, with one department not talking to the other. They also do not have good communication with their shipper, DHL, resulting in poor service. I have called International Checkout 9 times asking them to communicate effectively with DHL to be able to deliver my package, and each time they say they will or that they have contacted DHL, and then DHL tells me they have not provided the information. This is the run-around that International Checkout and DHL are giving me, each time I contact them, starting 3 months ago and now still 3 months after my order. I recommend to businesses that they don't associate with International checkout, if they want to effectively deliver their products overseas.
Illegal COD miscalculated
I called customer service at International Checkout to ask about the high price of $78 shipping and handling for a small product the size of a pen. They assured me this large fee would include all local duty and tax fee's!
I decided to pay this large fee and when I received my package I had an illegal COD fee attached to it. It was in the amount of $54.32. Canada post informed me this fee was attached from the sender. In this case the courier company that International Checkout has an active agreement with. I called customer service to question the fee. The woman there told me that this fee was not from the sender. Despite it clearly stating it is from the sender. She insisted it was Canada post charging this entire fee!
She started to yell at me and refused me speak to a manager. She hung up on me and blocked my number from reaching the customer service. Upon filing a complaint with my creditcard company, They started to respond slowly by email. In the email they had changed the story, In fact they now admit it is the courier company charging the fee, But that it should be calculated to about half this fee? They used language like "roughly" when telling me what I should pay? They finally reached the courier company over a week later and said everything is okay and that I should pay all the fee? They also threatened me that if I do not pay this fee when the package goes back I will be out the money and the package? My creditcard company is very concerned as none of these fee's are listed in proper detail on the website. Nor did I agree to them in my purchase agreement. The company has been caught red handed getting a kickback from the courier company for a hidden charge.

I purchased shoes for my wife. Size 4 UK the same as all of her other Dr Marten shoes. The shoes came and were stamped size 4 but were an inch too big. I contacted International Checkout and they stated I can request a new pair but I would be responsible for the shipping both ways. There mistake but my expense. I decided to refund the shoes. Total fee for shoes 441.00 Canadian. Refund 299.00 Canadian minus the shipping fees to return. Never again will I buy any product that works with International Checkout. The service and attitude from the staff was awful. I contacted Dr Marten and they basically said we can call International Checkout but that is all we can do for you. Service for both companies was a joke.Sorry. My wife has 4 other pairs of Dr Marten shoes and boots all size 4 UK. This was almost a 200.00 Canadian mistake. I hope others can learn from my mistake.
I am not certain, but if you research Zappos, they are a company you can trust, but I am not certain if they ship up here. The reason they make billions, because their flawless customer service and return policy is uncanny, check them out.
I never buy online for clothing because you cannot try them on, unless you did from one local store and found one online that will save you big bucks.

I have bought some shoes from doc marten usa website . I was redirected to a company called internationalcheckout.com in California for shipping to Malaysia. One pair of the shoes was wrong size . I ordered for doc mart STRATFORD size UK6 and was given size UK8 and packed in UK6 box! I have requested for an exchange due to their fault, yet they kept on asking me to send them pictures of the shoes over and over again via email. They keep on delaying the process and I'm not sure that I will be getting an exchange or refund.
Broken item-no money back
I ordered my wedding shoes from International Checkout and they arrived broken.
When I contacted costumer service they told me to take photos of the broken shoes and send them the complaint with pictures. After this I did not hear anything for a week and when I contacted them again I got the answer that a complaint can take up to 3 weeks and it's not even sure then that I'll actually get my money back. I have sent a reminder to them every week asking for the money back and where the broken shoes should be sent but the answer back is always the same "the matter is under investigation, we will get back to you shortly". I will continue to send reminders once a week and keep everyone posted how this company is treating is it's customers: So far I can only recommend: Hands off!

Scam Fraud Rip-off
This company "International checkout" just asked more money to pay after order was placed invoice received and so of course total bill paid!
They threatened me, they said that if I don't pay these extra money (asked because they said their system miscalculated the weight of order) they will not ship and cancel my order! Difference to pay is 30$! This is not a real error this is a trick! This is to get more customers! So expect an higher bill than what it shows at checkout! You will have to pay more actually!

Fraud, Credit Card Hacking, Awful Customer Service
It took over a month for me to receive an order shipped to Canada. I ordered a number of small items that only added up to around twenty dollars, yet International Checkout charged me sixty dollars in shipping – and they sent it via regular mail! After calling in and dealing with the rudest, most annoyingly aggressive “customer service” on the planet, I decided to do a little digging into this company, and I found out some shocking things. If you’re ever planning on ordering any merchandise through them, here are some things you should know beforehand:
In the past year, two employees at International Checkout committed credit card fraud in excess of thirty-five thousand dollars. At present, the company still employs several convicted felons.
In September 2011, International Checkout “discovered” its system had been hacked and that every single customer who had used them over the past several years had their credit card numbers stolen. For months, the company continually denied this to hundreds of customers whose credit cards were fraudulently used. They finally came clean in December 2011, but only on a very small scale. Since they were only legally obligated to inform United States customers, a small amount of customers from their home country were the only people to receive this information. Canadian and European customers, who make up the majority of International Checkout’s client base, were not informed of this database breach.
Whenever you place an order, there's a very small qualifier that allows them to go back and reassess additional fees before placing your order. The additional fees they charge are calculated and judged by whichever shipping method will be the most expensive. However, they will actually only ship via the cheapest method after charging customers for the most expensive. They tell customers that once the additional fees are paid, they will give a free upgrade to priority shipping. This is a lie. All shipments are shipped exactly the same, regardless of the customer choosing standard or priority. Additionally, their website states 3-5 days for Priority Shipping and 6-10 for Standard. However, once an order is placed, the time frames are changed to 4-10 days and 8-20 days.
Although it is stated nowhere on their website, they claim that their various partner stores do not honor promotions or discounts for International Customers. This is also a lie. International Checkout receives a 20% discount on merchandise as well as free domestic shipping from their stores, but they boost their profits by not letting customers use discount codes, even if the store has given them directly to the customers.
Most bigger retailers (such as Amazon and Ralph Lauren) do not use International Checkout, since they disapprove of their tactics as a price-gouging freight forwarder. However, the company has created a second site called My American Shopper to get around this. Once a customer places an overpriced order through My American Shopper, the company sneakily places order with the retailers as if it was an individual person, effectively lying to the retailers. After this, they assess massive additional fees for shipping.
They do not allow customers to send items as gifts (thus avoiding pricy import fees) and write this off as not allowing anyone to "declare a lower value" on a shipment. However, they regularly declare lower values on their own shipments. They don't have access to package tracking, so once a package is out the door, they wash their hands of it.
The fact is, this shady company is in the business of completely ripping off customers, both with their internal overpricing policies as well as their massive security leaks - that's the reason no larger retailers want to work with them. Stay far away from them.
Bad Customer Service and FRAUD
I had to make a transaction through International Checkout as the company I wanted to purchase from (clinch gear) were using them to process the payments. After I made the payment they got in touch with me to inform me that one of the items i had ordered was out of stock and that they needed a reply of what they should do about the order. I replied, once, twice, five times over the next five days. Nobody got back to me despite the fact they had taken the money from my account. There was no international number to telephone to speak to anybody. To make matters worse, just after the transaction, MY CARD WAS CLONED and all of my money was taken out in Santiago CL. Do not use this company.

Absolutely dismal service. I had to use them for an international order because my internet shop did not provide for an alternative. It starts with no email contact on International Checkout website. On top of that they ignore calls during working hours (answering machines in Europe all the time) while their service costs multiple times of DHL delivery. I could go on and on. I called them to make sure that DHL will be used because i needed DHL to do all customs paperwork. International Checkout had said "of course" and then sent it via US post (which is a nightmare) - therefore i had to do all customs paperwork myself. Glad they did not steal money from my card at least...
P.S. actually after several days even my card got hacked (from the area near to International Checkout). So it is fraud plain and simple.

The same thing has happend to me. I place an order with a company and was directed to International Checkout for payment. Today I got an email from IC with an update on the status, which is "we expect your order to arrive at our warehouse shortly and will notify you upon its arrival".
10 minutes later I got a call from my bank saying my card had been hacked. And yes, it's in the same area as IC.
So now, I don't know when/if I will receive my order. And I don't know if my order does arrive at their warehouse whether they will try to charge me more for shipping, which other people have commented on.
I wish I could cancel the whole thing... but even that seems to have dramas.
Seriously, anyone reading this... don't use International Shipping... the stress just isn't worth it.

Poor Service - Actual no service
I ordered an wetsuit at http://surfsidemailorder.com/ and choose International checkout as payment gateway, but actually they provide the full service and before having the order placed I asked if it could be delivered on a timeline (it was to be delivered in the USA) they answered me that not but placed the order the same way. I sent dozens of emails to them trying to cancel it and they just kept giving me excuses and blablabla. I placed the order anyway. I would never use it again.

I ordered a few items through them. Just as others have posted above, I've had nothing but problems dealing with them and I am still waiting for items as this service is very slow. Their customer service is very poor and they do not take any responsibility for their mistakes. Avoid this company like the plague, unless you want to be ripped off and lied to.

Ordered some products from Chefs Resource and had them posted through International Checkout - from the start they messed me around by advising in a separate email they had miscalculated the postage (I thought this was for the original postage). When I discovered the mistake I tried to cancel, but they said they could not do it. However they then managed to arrange for the products to be delivered and returned after they arrived in Australia! Still chasing a refund...watch out for these guys.

The standard response from I.C. is that the order is out of stock, but has been ordered and is on its way to their warehouse. It will be shipped when it arrives blah, blah, blah.
I haven't been charged as yet, but of course, they have my CC info - they can do what they want with it, which scares me. I wouldn't use them again - waste of time and quite stressful.

additional charges and refund issues
I suffer from MS and to manage my condition i need large quantities of vitamins. I went onto the Luckyvitamin.com website to order my vitamins and did so. They cost over $400 and then went to the checkout to arrange payment and delivery which is where this international checkout company get involved. They are a third party, collecitng the goods, packaging them and sending them off.
Their charges were massive, but i needed the vitamins so i agreed to pay. A day or two later, with my money in their hands as i had already paid for the order they then made a claim for addional charges of over £30. On top of what they were already charging, which was almost as much as the cost of the vitamins, it was a disgrace. I queried it and got nowhere. So i said you will have to cancel the order then. They have done this but there has been no reply to my emails about a refund and i have been unable to get through by phone. We are talking about over £700 here and i cannot afford to loose that money.
It seems to me that if you camncel you let them off the hook for everything.
Take my advice and never ever use their services whatever you want to buy. Dont order anyuthing off them as they appear to be a scam operation.

horrible customer service and shipping
Ordered outfits from 3wishes.com and got them delivered to me in Canada from International checkout on August 21 2009 it is now Sept 17 2009 and I have still not received my package. My MC has been charged and I have checked UPS tracking every day and called them every two days to find out where my package is. It has now been sent from US to Canada and back to US and today I find out that its being sent back into Vancouver. International checkout says that I did not provide the correct shipping info to UPS and my package is lost and I will not receive my money back from them. Over $200! UPS has all my info. I know this cause we speak every day! But since UPS uses Purolator in Canada everyone drops the ball. I called International Checkout to find out what I can do to get my package... she says "What do you want us to do about it?" WOW!

Agree ! - My order has lapsed over three weeks now... and the status is still showing awaiting goods from retailers. Numerous e-mail to customer service, with very limited explanation except that the retailer is slow. Retailer rejects any correspondence claiming no way to identify order, as internationalcheckout is who I should contact. My money was taken 3 weeks ago as well !
I wish I found this site before I used international checkout.

changing item
I bought a couple of shoes from masseysoutfitters. And the website directed me to international checkout for the payment. After i paid the item i realized that i bought the wrong size shoes. After fifteen minutes i sent email to international checkout and masseysoutfitters. I wanted them to change my shoes with an other foot size. They answered me after one day and they said they can't change the item. And now i am looking at the international checkout website and it says my order is placed to send me. I don't know what will i get.
The problem is i couldn't change the item, 15 minutes after i paid the item. They are giving error like an old computer.
