I was given a buy a gift voucher for my 40th birthday present.
The voucher clearly says ‘relaxation spa day with treatments and afternoon tea for two’
My 40th was 22/5/19. Unfortunately I never got to use the voucher as Covid hit and then it wasn’t possible. I extended the voucher last year at a cost of £40 and I have recently tried to redeem the voucher and book this experience. Firstly, I struggled to activate the voucher and had to contact your live chat for help. Then when I checked availability, the only places available were extremely far from where I live. I also discovered that the afternoon tea was no longer included. When I questioned the customer service agent on live chat about this, she reported that this was a separate voucher and they needed to have paid an additional fee to extend this voucher. I am really annoyed about this, if I’d known that I would not have extended the voucher. I would also not have extended the voucher. Had I known the spa experience would be such a distance to travel to. I then asked for a refund and was told that because I didn’t and originally purchased the voucher this was not possible and because it was purchased for years ago. It was also not possible for a refund. Even though Covid had affected my ability to book this experience, I either want a refund or a credit note to book something else
Claimed loss: Gift and then £40 to extend the voucher
Desired outcome: Credit note to book my choice of gift or a refund
