I went for a simple oil change and got sold on an air filter which the technicians took a 20 minutes trying to install eventually giving up and just leaving lose and putting the screws back on and nearly cause me to blow the engine on my way to work the following morning the car kept coming to a complete stop every time I let off the gas almost causing an accident cause the vehicles behind me were honking upset that they would nearly rear-ended my car. I had to tow my car back and miss a days work to get back to the location and have the manager open and attached the air filter himself.
Desired outcome: Restitution for the time and money spent

I just wanted to send through this email to have something in writing but also to ensure we will be reimbursed as per Harpreet at Mr. Lube store # 204
My partner Jamaal, CC’d on this email, dropped his vehicle yesterday – Tues, March 15th around 5pm for an oil change. Once they started working on his car, they were doing their ‘additional checks’ and checked his spark plug, broke it off. Half of the spark plug is stuck in his engine. The mechanic there mentioned that he will need a few days to fix this. We live in Toronto, we were in Brampton to take our son to the movies with his friends.
The car had to be left at the Mr. Lube in Brampton, we were stranded in Brampton with no ride home, no car rental places were open. Harpreet found a car rental place that was open, drove there to this run down dark industrial area of Brampton to SHADY auto body shop that didn’t even mention they had car rentals. They were going to rent us a car but only via CASH. This is sketchy at best. We then said we didn’t feel comfortable and he dropped us off in a Tim Horton’s in the middle of nowhere. He did call us an uber to take us to the airport to see if we could rent a car there. The amount of money that the car rentals are right now plus a deposit… we just didn’t have enough cash on us to cover the cost of a unplanned car rental.
We were told that Mr. Lube would reimburse us 100% for the cost of the car rental, but we would like it if this can be direct billed through the car rental place or we need some kind of promise or something that we will be reimbursed. This is an unexpected cost that we did not plan for and because of their service we DO NOT HAVE A CAR. This is also March break where we had plans with the kids to take them places so this has essentiall halted all of our plans for March break with our children.
Please let me know ASAP what can be done. We do require a car, and we do not believe this should be on us to cover the cost.
