We paid $150.00 non refundable deposit (it would be applied to install) for a measurement for vanity cabinets
The installer came out said it was a simple half day job. The Home Depot rep called with the quote to install which was $1,270.00 net of my depot. I think $300+ and hour is a little steep when installers aren't even a licenced trade. It's actually more than a doctor makes.

I am a GC by trade and use to install custom cabinets for both the BLUE and ORANGE big box stores. And no I did not attend college for years to earn a living doing precise attention to detail interior home projects, but I did exert years of learning all the attached practiced crafts that go with cabinet installation procedures and the like and also carry a State GC License for the sake of telling the world that I know what I'm doing. Be mindful that BIG BOX companies have a 30 to 50% markup on specialized contract labor and the real work comes from specialist who make the Big Box stores what they are. Honestly, we need to clear about $1500 to $2000 a day just to keep business alive thru one small crew. If you think any price is too much, then image you hire the wrong people and they are much cheaper only to find out they did a shotty inferior job and left you to clean up your decision of what it will then cost to have it done PROFESSIONALLY. Like the old saying goes, we all get what we pay for...Just a thought.
