Ordered poultry earlier in the year from cackle hatchery birds were fine placed my third order for giant Jersey chicks received them with one dead and everyday after that I lost one check called cackle hatchery on Friday and Saturday left them a message with no return call. Call them again on Monday 5:00 Eastern Time and finally spoke to someone explain the situation and there's nothing they can do for it I guess I will be looking for a different hatchery to do business with. Would not advise buying poultry from this hatchery

I would never use this hatchery again if they were the last ones on Earth. They need to use priority shipping express like *** Hatchery does and I received 10 baby chicks next day and great health. I ordered 3 Black *** Link since *** dont carry them. 5 days until arrival and of course DOA. Poor babies suffered. I did get a full refund but you still need to accept at least partial responsibility. $20.81 shipping and $20.00 small order fee and you cant send them *** go of your greed and make sure people get their baby chicks on time. You cant just blame the post office since you decide how they are shipped.

All of our chicks arrived healthy and all of them are doing great, we ordered 3 golden laced polish and they sent 4 ! All of them turned out to he hens ! All the rest of our chicks were also hens. We have had them for 4 months. This is a 100 percent accuracy rate. Good job, you will be highly recommended.

We received our Turkeys from Cackle Hatchery, they were all alive on arrival. Unfortunately I didnt call them as soon as they arrived because I was at work and my teen and mother went to pick them up. They were purchased for my 17 yr old to start their turkey farm. They noticed a few lethargic upon arrival and then within a day or two of having them 4 died out of the 15/16 were sent. I called customer service and she said since we didnt call in time they would not replace any. She also said they only guarantee that they are Alive upon arrival. I will go back to purchasing from *** hatchery because they always made things right.

I placed my first order with Cackle Hatchery to be sent to ***. Everything was perfect! Shipped on time and received perfectly. Only one chick dead but 2 extras was sent to prevent any shortage. We've placed 3 orders with Cackle so far and I plan to order more next year. We always had extras in the box to cover any losses or a prompt refund on the couple of times we didn't have an extra. The birds from last year have grown up beautifully and produce well. We had one accidental rooster last year who had such an amazing personality when it was time to order some for flock protection I didn't hesitate to get boys from Cackle. So far we've had a high sexing accuracy (2 mistaken *** out of 31 birds bought) as well. And as a bonus our birds behave very well around our toddler. Many of them allow her to pick them up and our mature rooster has never tried to be a jerk around her.

Ordered 30 chicks and a surprise box. Very satisfying. Rec. 30+ checks And 49 surprise box. 1 doa. Very very good with 89 degree heat I was worried about heat during shipping. They added a heat pack. For 6 quartered off. All in very good to great mobility. Been awhile since ordered from Cackle. Always have been satisfied with them.New ordering system has a couple negatives, but works. never give a 5 star because we can always do better. They are a 4.7.Thank you Cackle.
I am very pleased with Cackle Hatchery
I am very pleased with Cackle Hatchery. Ordered 3 Bielefelders, 3 Black Austrolorps and 3 Plymouth Barred Rocks for a total of 9 hens. They sent me one extra Bielefelder and one extra Black Austrolorp which I think is very awesome. I would assume that it in case one out of any of the breeds don't make the journey via mail. Unfortunately one of the Plymouth Barred Rocks did not make the journey but I understand that happens. The extra chicks they sent more than makes up for it. It has been two weeks now and the chicks are doing great. They are all healthy and growing out their feathers gradually. I definitely recommend Cackle Hatchery as they were easy to buy from and the shipping was quick.

For the most part, I have been very satisfied with Cackle Hatchery. I have purchased live chicks several times and they have been great and the service has been great. But this review is about the Speckled *** hatching eggs. They were packed very secure with no broken eggs. But I am disappointed in the color of the eggs. They do not look like the picture at all. Although they say they cannot guarantee the color or quality, I was still expecting more dramatic speckles. Especially if they are being bred specifically for speckles. The eggs I received look no different than my Black Copper Marans eggs. For the price, I was disappointed. I have not started the incubation process yet, so I have no opinion as to where they are fertile or not.

I am stunned and surprised by ANY negative response to Cackle Hatchery. I realize that people have different experiences but let me tell you about mine.I called to order my baby chicks and I was incorrect about my order. I made the mistake, even though it says orders cannot be changed. The person I spoke to was extremely nice, professional and courteous. She CHEERFULLY changed my order. As a first time chicken owner, I called with several times with what I thought were dumb questions and once again they were CHEERFULLY answered.From what I read, the journey from the hatchery of newborn chicks is very tenuous and all do not survive.They also indicated chicks could be lethargic after the journey. Mine were ALL healthy, chirping, happy, hungry and thirsty.I have nothing but praise for everyone at Cackle Hatchery.

We have never had chickens on our farm - we deal mostly with cattle. We were a little dubious to order chickens and did not know what to expect. When they arrived, they were the healthiest little chicken nuggets I have ever seen! They were happy, alert, and just a bucket of fun. All of them survived the trip. We are in LOVE with our Buff Orpingtons and have already placed an order for more. We surprisingly decided to add to more winged animals to the farm and purchased 20 guinea fowl. They all arrived healthy and happy, and are currently thriving in their environment. They seem to be *** than our chickens, so the jury is still out on whether we're going to love them like the chickens, but you really can't beat natural exterminators! Thanks so much Cackle Hatchery for making the process EASY PEASY! Y'all made it SOO easy! We appreciate you guys - and we hope to visit the storefront someday!

We are 1st time chicken owners so we had a lot of questions, we did research and read everything Cackle said to do and how to take care of our chicks. we did exactly how they said to do it and even called a couple of times to ask questions. They were extremely helpful and cheerfully told us what we needed to do. We ordered 15 chicks and received 17 healthy chipper chicks, they were both hungry and thirsty after we received them 2 days after being shipped. They are all beautiful healthy 3 month old chicks now and have grown to be beautiful healthy chickens, can't wait for them to start laying eggs. We did receive a rooster that we didn't order but he is the most beautiful rooster I have ever seen and we have come to love to hear him crow. If you want a beautiful rooster get an ***. And they did say the *** only have 65% on the sexing so no worries. Nothing to say about Cackle hatchery but great things.

Ordered guinea keets and Brahma chicks in May and after I put the order in, I was told the ship date would be 8/5...2.5 months later! I was notified of shipment for both but only the guineas arrived and 2 were near death. Though they were supposedly extras put in, why do I want to deal with the poor things dying on my watch. Was it grab, count and throw them in a box? Also, there were NO Brahma chicks. When I called to complain they said they ran out...ran out? It was on the shipment information. Horrible company...neve will deal with them ever again. It was the first time and the last time. Meyers had my chicks so I went in and ordered 8/7 for delivery 8/12. I was going to give this hatchery a chance but I'll go back to a more reputable hatchery. Also, they were supposed to refund for the chicks and partial shipping...nothing yet. Update, 2 more guineas died. I've raised both hatched out guineas and ones I've incubated along with Momma incubated for 30 years. Never have I seen such poor quality. My guineas got wiped out (except for 6) this year so since I didn't have the egg load to do it myself, I ordered a new group. Don't use this hatchery.

Will never order from here again. I ordered 14 chicks and 3 ducklings...shipment showed up on 3 day shipping...not sure how anything lives in a cold box with no food or water for 3 days...as I only ended up being able to save 3 out of 17. 6 were dead on arrival. The remaining were cold, lethargic and dying upon opening the box. 3 ducklings and 14 chicks in the same box...ducklings were alot bigger and pecking the baby chicks. 1 duck died within 10min of opening the box. I called immediately with absolutely no sympathy from customer service, rather I was questioned that I was treating the babies properly...again they were all dying upon arrival. I was then told to call back 2 days later with a final count. Again no sympathy to only having 4 left alive. I was told I had to provide which breeds died and they would be replaced. I opted out of them being replaced because I do not think torturing babies in a box for 3 days again was worth it. Also I didnt get any extras in my order that seemed to be the rave about this site. Every other place I had ever ordered from, including exotic fish were all shipped overnight with heating pads at least. Super disapointed and sad for the babies I waited 5 months for.

Well i do not think to much of Cackle Hatchery, I ordered on 6/23/2022, 20 Exhibition Rhode Island red Females and 2 Roosters which when they came in 2 of coarse were dead, but these were not the exhibition chickens, so i called and spoke with someone that basically tried to make me out to be a Liar, this woman was so rude and would not take the responsibility that someone had made a mistake, when i ordered these chicks i even called and spoke with someone that told me these were exhibition and asked what does that mean for at the time i did not know what a exhibition chick was, she explained that they were more of a show chicken and dark red and i stated good, that is exactly what i want., Cackle Hatchery also had to extend my delivery date, I find it very troubling that these people know what they are doing sometimes but when someone tries to make it out that i am a Liar and speak to me in the tone that she did, i will not ever do business with this company again, and would not recommend anyone else either for you may get something you did not order and have to listen to this women Lie to you, I will be posting this and more about Cackle Hatchery on the *** but Honestly BEWARE and did not even refund my 2 dead chicks Not much but its the Thought

I ordered 15 of the rare breed special, they shipped 16 very healthy and beautiful chicks. I received them here in *** the day after they shipped. I was hoping to have some of the other rare chicks thrown in the mix too, like Polish, or Phoenix, but its more like I ordered the ***, all 15 were various colored Cochins, and 1 black Sumatra. Again, I should have specifically ordered certain chicks I do not place blame on them I simply went with the special so I'd be surprised with what I would get and it was a good deal, they are all healthy babies, only 2 with the start of pasty *** that I have been cleaning and keeping an eye on, and the one Sumatra seemed a little lethargic after delivery, I added some hen boost vitamins to the water for the first day and she perked up so much, I have since started Amprol since day 2 since they recommend to treat for 7 days. We are now at day 4 and they are flourishing. I know there are certain situations where chicks will not make it, but I'm a huge believer in knowing your care sheet facts and if you do your absolute best to care for these sweet babies, you will have a healthy flock. Please follow your care sheet, Also cackle has beautiful silkies, my silkies were the fluffiest, prettiest, most complimented little fluffy butts, and I never did review them 2 years ago so that's part of this awesome review, too. Anyway, thanks cackle.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I purchased chicks June 3, 21, they arrived healthy and they thrived until they were about 4 or 5 months old, then they began to get very sick and die. I contacted the company to complain about this illness and death and they would not take any responsibility for my problems. I told them that I paid for the *** vaccine and the boss sounded surprised. I asked for a copy of my original order form and it proved that I requested the vaccine and paid for it. However after the 7th death, I had the chicken sent to a lab for an autopsy. It came back positive for *** disease. I sent a copy to the owner and told him something went wrong on their end of the deal. With a vaccine only 10% could get sick and die. I lost over 50%, so there are 3 things that could have gone wrong, 1) the chicks did not get the vaccine at all, 2) or it was improperly administrated, or 3) there vaccine was c*** I looked up their vaccine and it is a good one so there was human error on their part. He never took responsibility for the lack of vaccine and after 15 emails, he offered to replace the chicks. By that time, my patience was gone and so was any respect or trust for this owner or his company. He could easily send me chicks with no vaccination again! If he would have offered this right away and taken some responsibility, I would not be writing this review, but he was unkind, and constantly tried to blame me for the demise of my chicks. I have had chickens for 27 years and I have never experienced so much illness and death. I had to pay for the chicks, pay for the vaccine, pay for the vet visit, pay for medications, pay for the lab exam and overnight shipping, but there was no compassion or compensation offered until the 16th email and it was stated this way, "There is nothing to suggest anything we missed on our end, but it is possible it got signed and missed." So why were my chickens dying of *** then? It seems MORE THAN POSSIBLE that the chicks were not vaccinated. And he made it clear to me that he was not offering new chicks because of my threats to review his company. Wow! He tried to make me feel bad about reviews. I don't want anything from this company and I will never buy from them again. I will review them on *** and *** to let everyone I can reach know that this is not a good hatchery or company. His small token to offer me another order with the tag about reviews made it clear to me that this person needs to learn better customer service for sure! Beware if you buy from them, if anything goes wrong, it will be all your fault. And my true star review is NO STARS.

On June 28th, I got an email saying my order was still coming, so I called to check. They said it was on its way. The next day, I got part of my order, but not all of it. I called the office, and they were rude and unhelpful. I tried chatting with them online, but they ended the chat without fixing anything. The owner called me twice, but they didn't help either. They didn't send me an email saying my order was on its way, and when I called to check, they said my whole order was coming. But when it arrived, only part of it was there. When I called to ask what was going on, no one knew what was sent or what was still owed to me. It seems like they don't have good business practices or customer service.

I got 23 chicks from Cackle Hatchery last Thursday. Since then, I lost 14 chicks. They died from beak rot. I called to let them know, but they hung up on me twice. When I called back, they said they were short-staffed. The lady I talked to said there was no such thing as beak rot and that the chicks died because I only had 2 inches of pine shavings instead of 3 inches. I asked for more chicks or a partial refund, but she passed me along to someone else who asked me about my brooder and criticized my setup. They were giving me the runaround, so I hung up. They were rude and defensive from the start.

Don't buy Cackle Hatchery's baby chicks, chickens, or any other poultry for sale here. They wasted hours of my time on the phone getting orders wrong and sending dead chicks. I strongly advise anyone wanting to buy baby chicks to stay away from this disgusting hatchery. There are better hatcheries to use like Ideal Poultry. They're a scam company and don't care about their customers. They banned me from their site, but then magically unblocked me after I told them I would leave bad reviews. They only care about public reviews, not their customers. They offered to send me free shipping boxes for getting my order wrong, but then took it back and blamed the mistake on a new employee. They don't care about you or their baby chicks, only money. Stay away from this hatchery. They're a scam.

I have purchased day old chicks from Cackle Hatchery twice now. The first batch was great this batch is excellent. This year I chose *** and Barnevelders. The hatchery threw in two extra and all chicks are happy and healthy. One of the free chicks was a rooster and so far he is a gentleman. All the ladies are laying. Very pleased. I will purchase again!
I have been an intermittent customer for many years. I have mostly purchased layer hen chicks. In all the years that we have bought babies from Cackle Hatchery, I do not believe that a single died or was at all unhealthy. We usually were give a few bonus birds just in case. There are great people to business with. We hope that they continue for the very long haul.
