Capitec/Blue Voucher Incompetence
On the 17 October 2024 I bought a blue voucher using my Capitec app, never received the pin and Capitec was contacted. Was told that they were experiencing technical difficulties and it will be sorted within 24hrs. 48hrs later contacted them again and they were still trying to fix it. 72hrs later they claimed to have fixed the problem. Received voucher but it would not load. Contacted Capitec and was told to contact Blue voucher, did that and was told that Capitec had requested voucher to be cancelled in order for them to do a refund. Contacted Capitec again refund will be done in 24hrs. It's now 168hrs later and still no refund. Have Contacted Capitec 15 times since the 17th and every person has a different story and promise. Worst Bank ever.
Recommendation: Never Open a Capitec Bank account.
Capitec Business Banking
Everything is a struggle, from the date that I opened the account to get the limit updated. To apply for the 32 day notice account to withdraw from the funds out of the account. I phoned on the 28th of November to ask the customer care. She told me to write a message in my internet banking to say that I need to give notice of money that I need to withdraw. NOBODY phone me since and it's already a week later, I didn't get an email or any response. Your service is absolute non avoid.

I have been under debt review of which was resolved in 2019 and further more i used another company to clear my name for a better credit record

Hi my name is Puleng Mosikili. I'm banking with capitec. On the 24th of February I tried to withdraw 1000rand from nedbank so the money did not come out but deducted on my account. I emmidietly called capitec to let them know what had happened. I was told they logged a case and it will take a month to be dealt with. Capitec never contacted me regarding the issue instead I called them every week. I called them today and was told I can't get my money back. Please assist me regarding this matter. I would the bank to please do further investigations
I was held hostage by some guys they pulled a gun on me and forced me to log into my account which had 50k.
They transfered all my money into their bank account they took my card a phone and left me just like that.
The following day I went to the bank and reported the matter, they said I must go open the case at the police station and bring along the bank statement, the bank stament had the account number of which the money was transfers to. I submitted all the documents they asked for and they said they will open a fraud case from their side. I waited and waited then I went again to find out about the progress of the investigation they told me that the investigation was closed because im the one who gave those people my pin and access to my banking app and I never got my money back

Capitec froze my account on Monday the 13th of November 2023, I visited the branch the very next day and submitted all documents they needed to verify the legitimacy of the funds received but to date my account remains frozen despite the payer confirming that funds were indeed legitimate, this has been a great inconvenience to me because I have no funds to do even the simplest things like paying for petrol and buying bread.
To top it all, all accounts I transferred money into were frozen as well, I am now in a predicament where I'm getting phone calls from people enquiring why their accounts were frozen and how long it will take to unfreeze their accounts.
This is unfair considering that all documentation needed was submitted.
Desired outcome: Unfreezing my account and the ones affected by this action as soon as possible.
Capitec bank - lotto service
Starts with capitec app - lotto service (dis-service) not working! Over a period of three months now. Umpteen call attempts and what's apps to resolve and escalate...Into nothingness! Visited branch three times. This is between google and capitec... Not the client and nobody takes responsibility! Who the fl... Does this bank think their clients are?
And this service? - do you want the truth, or what you want to hear? What's happening to freedom of speech? No capitals? Shame!

Money lost
I went to withdraw R500 cash from the Capitec Bank ATM in Megacity Complex in MMabatho, North West on Friday 13/10/2023 just a minute or two before 20:00, I was waiting for the cash to come out when the door of the ATM closed in front of me. I tried to phone the customer care [protected] but unfortunately I could not get any help, I could not speak to anybody, I even tried their WHATSUP but I could not get any help. I waited about 30 minutes to see if the door will open or get the R500 withdrawal reversal SMS but nothing. I managed to block my ATM Card via the APP. The next morning on 14/10/2023 when the bank opened at 8:00 I consulted and explained my problem but I was told that my money is gone and I won't get it back.
Desired outcome: i would like an investigation in the matter

Fraud investigation
Large amounts of cash has been drawn from my Capitec account while I were inna different town and never drew cash in this town. I never received any notifications of the transactions as Im supposed to get.
After lodging an complaint with capitec they just send an text msgs saying they dont take responsibility as it were chip & pin authenticated. I specifically asked about the notification as if I noticed after the transaction then it could stop right there and not continue for some weeks ….
Desired outcome: The bank does not take responsibility for my money that were in my account for them to manage and secure … they did not even advise me how to handle this futher.
Funeral claim
Hi I have submitted a funeral claim on your whatsup chanell on the 12/09/2023, up untill now I have not receive feedback from Caputec. I have been following up with Capitec help desk and no one is coming back to me, I think Capitec does not symphathise with their clients and I am not happy with the service I am receiving from Capitec. They promise to give me back the money within 24 hours, its been 10 days now nothing has been actioned when I called them they they keep on saying it is under investigation. How do you expect people to trust a bank that is not able to prevent theft from accounts then denies that it is possible instead of trying to find the solution?
A large amount of money was stolen from us. Someone seemed to have hacked our account and stole R11 000 from us. We phoned yesterday and was told that if the money is availble in the other account we could maybe get it back after 60 days.
When I phoned again today I was told that the insident was never logged and it is impossible for someone to steal the money that way.

It's been a week since I've been waiting for someone to call me back regarding my application for a POS machine.

I went to Capitec ATM machine to withdraw money,but it kept giving me error.
After a while I was able to withdraw but I was charged x8 withdrawal fees of R9.50

Online electricity purchase
1.I tryed buying R50 electricity using the app and the app did not provide me with the token.
2 I re purchased electricity using the app and it provided me with the a token which does not load on the meter box.
Am in need on assistance and I live with an elderly individual. We can't get assistance from the what'sapp communication channel and tryed using Twitter and am being redirected to the 0860 number which keeps ringing.

Capitec Forex
The forex department of this bank is so sad and pathetic.I had emailed the standing instruction but everytime money internationally comes through,I'm the one who has to call them to as them to release the funds into my account.
The agents are forever experiencing a high volume of calls and you could be on the line for 40 mins without anybody picking up your calls.A total waste of time and ones airtime as I sometimes don't use a landline but my cellphone.
I am even thinking of switching to a more customer caring and advanced bank as Capitec Bank seems to be a disappointment every chance you give them.🙄😠

I received an international payment on August 1st. To date I have not received my money. Calls go unanswered and promises made to be contacted. Which never happens. I'm now being told they cannot find a payment made to my account. I am livid! I want my money and I want answers. I've had another payment made and I'm dreading going through this again!

I have been with Capitec Bank for close to 10 years, I work at good company and earn a good salary which comes into my Capitec account each month.
I have been trying to apply for a R80 000 loan or credit card for the past MONTH and I keep getting rejected, No one calls to let me know the reason why, I call Capitec everyday to follow up and keep getting told that someone will call me, or I keep getting transferred to different department's. It seems like no one at Capitec knows what is going on and how to do their jobs
I have had the worst experience with this bank and I will be moving to another bank that can actually help their customers and provide guidance when needed

Please i need your assistance, i am unhappy and very disappointed in your cash send facility today, i left my card at home so i did a cash send of R400, because i needed to sort my personal things out, i drew the cash send but only received R200 and a torn note from the Evergreens centre in Kempton Park, my slip showed a shortage of R100 as per attached,i didnt get a chance to complete what i had to do and mind you the cash send option is not a free service, should i count that half note as a full R100 as my slip shows a shortage of only R100 but i received R200 and a half note. On the following day i managed to draw the remaining R100 in my cashsend as i requested a new pin, i took the note to the Kwa Thema branch on the 1st of August and was assisted by Gugu Pagati(mind you i took half day at work)and the consultant scanned it and sent it through for my refund today I visited the branch for feedback and was told its declined because the note is to small, if i received this from the spark atm at Evergreen Kempton park, is it my fault that i will have to loose my R100 that i worked hard for, i have missed two days of work because i needed that money for my transport and i had to go into the branch to get feedback on this, tomorrow the 4th of August will be my 3rd day of not being at work because of a note i received from your Atm and i must suffer for this.
Is this fair?
I just left the branch and Gugu called the call centre and was told to resubmit and i will get feedback on Saturday which means i will miss another day of work.

Forex foreign currency deposit
I work abroad and receive salary payments in foreign currency. Everything was running smoothly.I have moved to a new employer in the same country and now there is a long delay. I have spend 1 and half hours on hold with no answer. I have called the usual customer services numbers many time without resolve. This has cost me R2000 in calls. I have sent 2 emails without response. They confirm the money is there, including the amount.
This is unacceptable service.
