My name is Yvette Hinds.
I bought my ticket on your early flight (7:05 a.m.) from Jamaica to NY (JFK) on the date mentioned above, intending to connect with Turkish Airlines en route to Accra, Ghana.
Due to the cancellation, I was placed on a later flight with the promise that I would be assisted to make the connecting flight. I later realised that would not have been possible since both airlines are based in different Terminals.
The flight left at (6:15 pm and arrived after 11 pm, I therefore missed my flight which departed 00:10 am and had to sleep at the airport in NY since Caribbean Airlines wasn't able to assist with accommodating me at any hotel whatsoever.
In the end, to continue my journey, I had to pay an additional $ 700 USD to Turkish Airlines for what they deemed a NO SHOW.
I found the whole experience quite unfortunate, inconvenient, and very disturbing to say the least.
As I speak, I'm back in NY and will have to find an additional amount to pay to Caribbean Airlines for a return ticket back to Jamaica which I find very unfair.
